Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

@loulamay it was meant to be a home test tomorrow morning. Tomorrow would be 13 days past 5 day transfer (my cycle roughly 32 days)
We're on holiday right now so I've put away the white shorts Shock as they're giving me fear wearing them incase period starts. I'm loaded up with sanitary towels today and black shorts! I know what you're saying but it's all just feeling v v similar to every other month unfortunately but thank you for trying to keep the faith xx

Mseddy · 20/08/2020 08:35

@TTC2021baby good luck for collection today. Hope everything goes smoothly!

@MsNoons17 sorry to hear about your BFN. Its such a roller-coaster. Hopefully one of your little frosties is the one!

@Bruce2 I think this is the hardest time out of all of it. Are you going to test tomorrow or wait until you are home?

I just had the call from the embryologist. Out of our 16 eggs, 15 where mature and 11 fertilised. So I'm really happy with that result. However now is where our problems started last time. We had 6 fertilised last time and only ended up with one poor quality blast. Fingers crossed for better quality eggs this time!!

@Mseddy Congrats on the huge egg haul!! Oh, and I just saw your last message - what a brilliant number fertilised!! That's fantastic news. How are you feeling today?

@kikisparks thank you! Next call on Friday - keeping all the things crossed :) So sorry to hear you had a low day yesterday. Progesterone has always been a bit of a nemesis for me too. Can you do any nice slow yin yoga?

@CardboardCat yay for trigger progress! Enjoy your jab free day today :)

@TTC2021baby good luck with collection today!! Enjoy the buzz hehe.

@loulamay hehe re the googling!! Exciting times! Did you test today?

@West2401 Hope you've managed to slow down and not feel too bereft without the activity - this change to the day to day life really has been quite the non-anticipated side effect!!

@MsNoons17 Welcome, and so sorry to hear about your BFN. Great to hear you have two frosties ready to go though. The relentlessness of the drugs, the stress, the hope and the hormones is quite a phenomenon - and it is so hard.

@Bruce2 am sending you positive vibes - symptoms can get so muddled right now. (I have period like cramps today - but I haven't even had my transfer.) Hope you manage to enjoy your holiday today, and a positive test (and white shorts!) tomorrow xx

It's been two days since my collection, and i'm not feeling great - quite a bit of crampy pain still. Although my ovaries seem to have calmed down from the stims which is good! And my boobs are massive (which is pleasing OH haha). I'm feeling a bit low too - the embryologist's call tomorrow seems like a long way away....

MrsT36 · 20/08/2020 10:14

@Mseddy that’s brilliant news! Excellent egg haul hoping one of those is your baby.

@MsNoons17 so sorry to hear your news it’s so sh*t when it doesn’t work after 2 weeks of waiting and letting yourself hope, I know the let down can be unbearable. You’re not alone and we’re here if you need a vent. We’re on our 3rd frostie this transfer (1 fresh Chemical, 2 failed FET).

One of these little Frosties is going to be our one!

@Lepatz after atoms I felt like a beach ball for a week 😂 u you our body’s been through a lot you deserve a hot water bottle on couch and rubbish telly for the next few days! X

MsNoons17 · 20/08/2020 11:09

Thanks all. Yeah we didn’t have any Frosties last time so made is slightly more bearable this time knowing we have them. Have a consultation next week to see next steps and get some dates in the diary hopefully.

@loulamay I prefer your french! Is a massive headf*ck indeed! 😂 Am looking forward to a bit of a rest from the drugs as you say. And a large drink!

@Mseddy That’s a great number! Fingers crossed for you.

@Bruce2 Enjoy the rest of your holiday! May still be good news. It’s crap how symptoms are pretty much the same for periods & pregnancy! Mother Nature can be a cruel woman!

@Lepatz Good luck with embryologist call tomorrow! All this waiting is the hard part. Injections are easy in comparison.

Thanks @MrsT36 My family & friends that I’ve told are amazing as is my OH but is difficult to relate I think unless you’re going through it. Nice to have a place to vent. Am being very careful with my language here though. 🤣

West2401 · 20/08/2020 11:45

@Mseddy wow that's amazing news! Congrats - everything crossed for you!

@Lepatz I hope you're feeling a little less sore today. Try to keep your chin up, it really is tough and nobody really gets it unless they've been through it.

@MsNoons17 so sorry to hear your news - hope everything goes well when you speak to your consultant. I really think having this little place to open up to others who 'get it' will help along the way.

Had my Covid swab this morning, just another thing to worry about for the next 24 hours 🙈 back for my second scan in the morning to see if anything at all is happening, not feeling great about it but trying not to get too bogged down. Exhausted today so going to try (try being the operative word!) and relax

Mseddy · 20/08/2020 15:22

@Lepatz I'm still pretty sore today. Just taking another day of chill laying on the sofa. Might go for a walk later just to get our the house a bit. Sorry you are still in alot of pain. There is so much waiting in this game. We don't get another call from the embryologist now, we did last cycle but they have changed things. Last time they would have out an embryo back on day 3 if it was the last one, but now they wait till day 5 regardless. They thinking is that if it doesn't make it to day 5 in an petri it wouldn't have made it in your womb either so better to see how it does on the outside. It's tough that I'm not going to hear anything until I go for transfer on Monday. Or I suppose they would ring me if all of them arrested.

@West2401 I hope your scan is good news tomorrow. The covid swabs just make everything that little bit harder! I'm sure it'll be negative though. What cycle day are you for the scan tomorrow?

OP posts:
West2401 · 20/08/2020 16:17

@Lepatz I'm day 10 tomorrow. Initial plan was retrieval on Monday/Wednesday but after my scan on Monday when they couldn't see any follicles I'm not sure what will happen. Just keeping my fingers crossed something is happening.

Hope you're feeling a little better and managed to get out for a little walk. Just take it easy, Monday will be here soon enough!

West2401 · 20/08/2020 16:18

Whoops sorry @Mseddy tagged the wrong person! 🤣

Jacky83 · 20/08/2020 16:57

Hi everyone. I'm four days post egg collection and feeling rough. The cyclogest is the devil! I have barely made it off the sofa my nausea is so bad. Luckily I work for myself so no difficult work conversations just given up on work this week. I'm freaking out though as I can't do this for three months.

I'm on 800mg cyclogest twice a day which seems really high.

Anyone else felt this rough? Is this normal?

Mseddy · 20/08/2020 17:07

@West2401 fingers crossed for the scan. I'm sure things will have progressed. I haven't managed a walk, I laid down on the bed with one of my cats and just woke up. Oops! Going to go for a walk when my DH finishes work I think.

@Jacky83 I'm on 800 once a day. So 2 pessaries at night. 4 a day seems alot! Have you have problems with your progesterone in the past?

Apart from the pain and tiredness from egg collection the only symptom I'm really experiencing is huge sore nipples! They honestly look completly different! Even my DH has noticed the size of them. Not sure if that's the progesterone or the hcg

OP posts:
Jacky83 · 20/08/2020 17:12

@mseddy this is my first cycle. Two pessaries morning and night. I have no history of problems I can't understand why I'm on such a high dose. I've called the clinic and they've confirmed the dose but haven't been told why. Waiting for a call back now.

Lepatz · 20/08/2020 17:25

I managed a bit of a walk today! The sun's out - and that makes everything seem brighter :)

@Mseddy I hope you've enjoyed your day on the sofa. My cats have been keeping me company too - even if there's the occasional badly positioned jump to the belly! The clinic told me they won't transfer til day 5 or even 6 - but tomorrow I'll get an update on how they are doing. Eeek. Stay strong embabies!! haha re the nipples - my boobs are MASSIVE today! Tender too. OH literally can't make eye contact right now ;D.

@West2401 Good luck with the scan tomorrow - will be thinking of you x

@Jacky83 I'm on 800 cyclogest - 400 morning, and again in the evening. I've not been feeling great with it, but doesn't sound as bad as you have it. Hope the clinic can shed some light on what's going on there.

How on earth is is Friday again tomorrow. Time seems to be going so slowly, yet also so fast!

I'm so glad I'm signed off from work this week - can't imagine having to do stuff atm. How much time have folks taken off for a cycle??!

Mseddy · 20/08/2020 17:47

@Jacky83 I think all the clinics just do things so differently!

@Lepatz ill have been off for 6 weeks and 2 days when I go back! The last 2 weeks of that are annual leave though. And I've been working from home where I can. My role is intense so I couldn't do it if I wasnt 100% and my manager has been totally fab! I'm trying to decide wether to email the embryologist and ask for a day 3 update or wether to just wait it out. I can't decide wether approaching transfer day still full of hope for all 11 is a good thing or finding out about the drop off by day 3 so I can start to get my head around it. Really don't know what is best. Day 3 is Saturday so I'm guessing there will be less embryologists around as it is

OP posts:
loulamay · 20/08/2020 18:33

Oh dear, hope everyone's symptoms are a bit better tomorrow. Sounds like early nights all round!

@Lepatz - I work remotely so haven't officially taken any time off and just told clients when I had a 'Dr's appointment' but also tried to time those around lunchtimes as much as possible. Then any days when I was feeling rough I just worked from my laptop in bed Grin

Good luck to everyone waiting on Embryologist calls. I'm thinking about egg sandwiches on your behalf.

@TTC2021baby - hope you're feeling ok after your retrieval!
@CardboardCat - bonne chance for tomorrow lovely, let us know how you get on!

kikisparks · 20/08/2020 19:10

@Jacky83 I’m on that much cyclogest (400mg twice a day) but I only take it for 15 days whether I’m pregnant or not, I hate it too, just after I took it this morning I thought I was going to throw up! It’s definitely causing mood swings as well. I feel decent today but yesterday I felt so low. Digestion problems too.

kikisparks · 20/08/2020 19:11

No wait I’m only 800 a day- 2 morning and 2 night seems a lot!!!

Mseddy · 20/08/2020 19:12

I was talking to DH just now about whether I should email the clinic and ask for a day 3 update or not. He said they said to us on the phone this morning that they will ring on Saturday. I have zero memory of this!! I did this last time with my embryologist calls, I heard 11 fertlised and my brain switched off! So maybe I am getting a day 3 update. Who knows!!

OP posts:
Jacky83 · 20/08/2020 21:41

@kikisparks I’m going to take heart from your info on 15 days. I might manage that. Calling the clinic again tomorrow to ask why I’m on such a high dose.

MsNoons17 · 20/08/2020 22:08

@Mseddy There’s no harm in giving them a call to see how the embryos are doing. It’s normal to want to know. Breaks up the wait. I asked the nurse when they called me for a check up & they got the embryologist to call me with an update.

Custardandcream · 20/08/2020 22:21

@MsNoons17 sorry to hear your news, give yourself time to process it all but it’s great you’ve got some frozen.

@Bruce2 sending positive vibes, hope you managed to enjoy the last of your holiday

@Mseddy Your numbers sound similar to my cycles, I only had one not great embryo with my first cycle. I can’t remember exactly how many eggs I had in the second cycle but 12 fertilised with 2 embryos (both hatching blasts) by day 5

@West2401 Good luck for tomorrow

@Jacky83 progesterone makes me feel really rough and I’ve only ever been on half your dose, might be worth getting some clarification from the clinic but they all do things differently

I’ve got my scan tomorrow to see if my lining is responding, I’ve no real symptoms atm so not sure if it is or not!

CardboardCat · 20/08/2020 22:52

Noooo, I just typed out a massive message and then lost it all! 😔 How annoying. Anyway, the short version is that it was a nice sunny day today and without the injections to do I feel like I really mentally stepped back from everything IVF today which has been nice. Only just now is the pre-collection nerves starting.

@MsNoons17 So sorry to read about your bfn, this process is just so fucking unfair sometimes. Thank you for sharing because the strength in your posts just reminds me that we keep going and that we will all be ok no matter what.

@Mseddy What an amazing result!! Congratulations ☺️ I know if it were me I would probably want the day 3 update so I could manage my expectations both good and bad. Your couch day sounds lovely today, I so wish I had a cat but hubby isn't keen 😔

@Lepatz Sorry you're feeling a bit crap, so many ups and downs just now. I've taken just over a week.off work but I'm going back on Sunday evening, regretting that one slightly but no one to cover it now. Luckily I can probably get away with pretty light duties. Good luck with the phone call tomorrow!

@kikisparks Glad you feel a bit better than yesterday, riding that rollercoaster with you.

@loulamay Thanks for the well wishes 😊 Thinking of you too.

@West2401 Good luck with the scan tomorrow! We will all be keeping fingers crossed for you that things have progressed.

@TTC2021baby Hope your collection went smoothly and you're feeling alright.

@Bruce2 I'm really hoping you get a good result. I would be avoiding the white shorts too, no need to tempt fate. Thinking of you, I can only imagine how stressful it must be xx

My egg collection is tomorrow at 10am so have to leave the house at 8.45, I'm glad there's not too much hanging around in the morning. I'll probably be on here straight afterwards to update! My husband even knows I need to get my "internet friends' updates" every day.

CardboardCat · 20/08/2020 22:54

@Custardandcream Good luck with your scan tomorrow, hope your lining is nice and cozy. xx

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 06:41

@CardboardCat good luck with egg collection today!

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 06:43

@Jacky83 I hope it’s a shorter time for you to take the pessaries but every clinic does it differently, I know for an FET it’s 12 weeks you take it for at my clinic if you get a BFP but they said in a fresh cycle your body takes over.
