IVF May/June Cycle Buddies

Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

Thanks @Mrbay I'm doing a long protocol. I've asked about short/long, my consultant told me there is no major difference. I supposed the long protocol will have more control with my hormones since this is my first ivf.

@HJF84 - sorry read that, the whole process is a little joyless and the drugs don't help either - have you done anything to treat yourself?

@takingthistooseriously - she is pretty lovely, but it's taken hardwork to get her to relax, she's only just turned 1 so still pretty much a puppy. Congrats on the digital, they are pretty good at keeping you relaxed about it all, will you test again in a week or 2 with another digital?

@Pattaz2711 - did you try to attach a photo, as it didn't pop up? I do have another dog who doesn't do sofa cuddles but you can call her over for a huggle and she'll put her legs over your shoulders and lay her head next to yours.

@Everhopeful35 - sorry I cannot remember how long the pain lasted from EC - have you double checked that it's not a symptom of OHSS? I expect it's from your ovaries going back to normal size and still a bit tender from being prodded.

@Limeflower2 - I'm on long protocol too, I think it depends on you personally to what protocol they pop you on.
You'll have to learn the period dance as you'll be desperate for it to come, are you on buserelin?

That doesn't sound right, I'd ring and speak to your clinic tomorrow - even when I had early stage OHSS I don't remember it feeling like that

Their are quite significant differences between short and long protocol - with short protocol you don't down reg so instead of taking 6 weeks to get to egg collection it only takes 2. Most clinics prefer long protocol though because they can control the growth of follicles better supposedly. Also you tend to get much lower numbers of follicles with short protocol but my experience has been that I got the same numbers as my friends on long protocol

@Mrbay my injection buddy is less involved than yours appears to be.

Increase in tablets tomorrow to 2 a day and injection. Hope it helps with headaches, struggling to focus on work today which is not helpful.
How are you all doing today? Any scans, transfers or tests today?

@bestofyou1982 - I love a ginger!! My cat only has cuddle as SCT (specified cuddle time). I hate the headaches, mine turned into a migraine yesterday and then reared it's head again today, I had to dig the codeine out.

@Pattaz2711 - sounds like bliss! it's nights like this I wish I had a hot tub as its about to rain and I love being in the water in the rain!

@eggling - I love labs, they are the perfect family pet, however ours is from working lines and I boy do I know it!! I've been doing gun dog training with her which is very good at mentally tiring her out! At the club she is known as a microdor as she is so tiny!!

@Mrbay I did yes tried to obvs didn't work haha.. how are you today?

Ginger and white cats are the best - we have 3 cats but he is my favourite 😻 and he's a total mummy's boy.

Oh my god I love the chubby one lounging on the rug! Our cats started out as baby substitutes but it becomes addictive and when I can't sleep at night I trawl the local rescue websites looking for my next baby!

So jealous of all your cute pets! They’re adorable.

@ivfgottostaypositive Thanks for explaining about short and long protocol. I was hoping I could use less drugs. But it's my first time I supposed I will take my consultant's advice and hopefully I will get a decent amount of eggs.

@ivfgottostaypositive hah yeah she was our first she has a swinging belly from when she was spade but she lays on the rug with her belly out or even under it, the black one prince was a stray that found us and we tried to find his owner etc but no one came forward he wasn't chilled so we took him in and he has moved with us twice now and he is so loving xx i love my fur babies xx

@elleceedee nah i wee every few hours at the moment even without drinking as drink a shed load of water during the day. I will be 8dp5dt tomorrow. So will probably be in the morning now xx
