Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

@Lemongrass1

Yes mine is FET with down reg too. They haven’t told me when scan is yet but I’ll call them once period starts xx

RosettaR · 04/06/2020 16:57

@MorgenMuffel huge congratulations! You've certainly got this thread off to a good start. Let's keep it going!

@Dbrook @MorgenMuffel @takingthistooseriously @MrsLouB thanks for the reassurance! @elleceedee I'm not taking them today because the pollen situation is better today but I think I will next time it gets bad. I'll see how I go though, I am wondering if the synarel is also stopping me sleeping, it is listed as a side effect affecting up to 1/10. So may not even be the hay fever!

@takingthistooseriously fingers crossed for your phone call tomorrow, hopefully the embryos will have benefited from being left undisturbed! If day 3 and day 5 transfers work than surely a day 4 transfer would be fine too. I'm sure the clinic know what they're doing!

@MrsLouB it wouldn't surprise me at all if progesterone caused tiredness, I always notice getting mpre tired at the time of the month when progesterone rises naturally and it would make sense if the effect was exaggerated when you're taking it. Is it listed as a side effect? It's not down as a side effect of the synarel but I'm convinced it must be, I'm exhausted and although I've not slept that well I've not slept badly enough to be this tired! I really struggled working from home today.

@ivfgottostaypositive that's so strange about your DH not being allowed in the clinic, has anyone else heard that? And lol at your joke! Best of luck for EC tomorrow!

@HJF84 your scan sounds positive. Our bodies really don't like to make things simple sometimes! Fingers crossed the other follicles keep moving.

ivfgottostaypositive · 04/06/2020 17:12

I only hope I don't come round from sedation talking about sperm and boobs as I have a habit of saying really inappropriate things whilst waking up!

Last time I apparently regaled them with stories about a "purple" folder at the Priory.....my plumber who went through IVF at the Priory was given a folder of material to help him provide his sample and he told me he always chooses the purple folder 🤦‍♀️🤣

BKB27 · 04/06/2020 19:10

Thanks @takingthistooseriously. Good luck for your ET tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed!

HJF84 · 04/06/2020 19:15

@elleceedee It's a definite no to the prednisalone. I'm waiting for the results of a blood test to determine if I actually need it. I should get those early next week. If I need them, I'll have to freeze whatever we get from this cycle and wait for the ban to be lifted. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't need it

@ivfgottobepositive Love that joke! I would have (almost) done the same thing 😂 St Paul's are allowing DH to come in for EC for his sample, but not the transfer. At least I don't have to cart his sperm on a train to London in my boobs! He's not allowed in for transfer, I know that much.

Welcome @LizaN

@rosettar I know right? They move in mysterious ways. I had resigned myself to being happy with one follicle, so to get more is a bonus

@MrsLouB The progesterone made me tired in the afternoon, bloated after dinner and then I was awake at 4am with night sweats! I'm not looking forward to going back on it. Hopefully it will all be worth it at the end 🤞🏼

Lemongrass1 · 04/06/2020 19:47

Hi sorry for another quick Q here. For those of you who have used/ are using buserelin, can I ask what time you take it? The instructions I was given in Feb are a bit hazy in my mind but I think it was some thinking like between 7-8??

Hope all goes well for everyone with transfers and scans tomorrow 😁

MorgenMuffel · 04/06/2020 20:03

Thank you @all. Still in shock I think - I keep going upstairs to check there really are two lines on the test! I was in a little bubble at work without my phone which I think made it feel even more surreal. Massively hoping that many more BFPs follow and this is a luck thread.

@ivfgottobepositive what a great joke! had me chuckling on the train haha. Please do tell us what you say when you are coming round this time!

@RosettaR at my clinic partners could only come if they needed to sign paperwork or were providing a sample on day of EC as part of the COVID restrictions. Hope you slept a better as it's been a bit cooler.

@takingthistooseriously Hope all goes well tomorrow. Fx for you.

welcome to all the newbies @LizaN, @Lemongrass1, @EffortIsSuccess20 wishing you all the best as your cycles get going.

@Faikak amazing news they all fertilised, hoping they make it to day 5. When do you get your next update?

@MrsLouB I didn't find I got too tired with the progesterone but also had night sweats. Not too long to go for you now until ET :)

I've probably missed loads of you - its a bit tricky to catch up with no phone access - roll on the weekend when I can watch this thread like a hawk haha.

@HJF84 good luck for scan tomorrow

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 04/06/2020 21:39

@Lemongrass1

I take Buserelin in the evening. I just went to visit my brother so did my injection in the garden! Bit bizarre but these are strange times! I think anytime is fine as long as approx same time each day.

Faikak · 05/06/2020 00:12

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip thank you!!

@takingthistooseriously I know it wasn’t what I was expecting!

@MrsLouB thank you

@Lemongrass1 - day 5 - aiming for FET hopefully

Mrbay · 05/06/2020 09:18

@HJF84 - thats odd because I've been given permission to take them with this cycle but the doc did say its on a case by case basic and the risk of catching covid.

@Lemongrass1 - I got told to take it in the morning, anytime but roughly the same time each day - was to do with taking other injections and scan or something - I didn't pay a lot of attention and just did want the nurse told me!

Still no period but my nose is having a full on bleed - perhaps my body needs a sat nav??!

@ivfgottostaypositive - love your sedated mind! I am pretty sure my DH can come to EC as providing a sample - keep pissing myself over him doing his thing in a face mask - lol!

I'm a bit behind you ladies but still avidly following! Im still taking the pill in advance of my cycle but only 3 more to go so hopefully AF will show up by the end of next week and I can get started.

Good luck for EC @ivfgottostaypositive - looking forward to the sedation story this time! 😆

Good luck with the scan @HJF84

HJF84 · 05/06/2020 09:51

@mrbay One rule for one clinic and one for another. I guess it's at doctors discretion. I asked today if my blood results are back and they said no.

Just had my fourth and final scan. They are calling my shrinking follicle a 'dysfunctional cyst' but there is a chance that there is an egg in there. It's grown 1mm since Wednesday, so it's now 15mm. My new dominant follicle is 17mm, so it's ripe and ready. I have another at 13mm and another two at 8mm and a few others at 4mm. So we might get anywhere between 1-3 eggs which I'm happy with. They are waiting for the results of my bloods, but it looks like it will be trigger tomorrow for EC on Monday.

HJF84 · 05/06/2020 09:52

@ivfgottobepositive Good luck for EC today!

ivfgottostaypositive · 05/06/2020 09:53

Hi ladies! Just in the recovery room so strange without DH here. This time round apparently I moaned and so no don't wake me up yet I haven't had a full nights sleep in 4 years and I haven't been away from DD in 12 weeks and just need some adult company! 🤣

Apparently they got 2 eggs. I'm not convinced the second one will mature enough but we ll see what the embryology team says tomorrow

Felt a bit sorry for DH (well not really the blokes don't exactly have much to do during this whole process and I'm pretty sure my day at work would be much more enjoyable if I got to have a "happy moment" before starting work!) as he has to do his sample whilst my parents were down stairs drinking tea 🤣

Mrbay · 05/06/2020 10:09

@HJF84 - yep! Not fair tho, hope you don't need it so you dont have to wait.
I think getting any eggs is a blessing, so good luck! nice no injection weekend for you :)

@ivfgottostaypositive - glad you enjoyed the sleep! I know you are all about the quality so lets hope you've grown some M&S quality eggs :)
Your poor DH, bet he felt 15 again!

I've not looking forward to EC, last time I had terrible baby brain and couldn't understand why they were commenting on my height - my confused brain was like does that mean a longer needle??! It was for the stirrups.
I didn't have enough sedation, so partway through I could feel something happening, cue me trying to push and kick the consultant away, roughly remember nurses holding my hands and legs. Lets hope I get given a larger dose this time!

OP posts:
ivfgottostaypositive · 05/06/2020 10:16

@Mrbay

Yep all about the quality for me! They asked me my height today too and pretty sure out of 5 collections it's the first time they've asked that?

I had that when I had sedation at Creates London clinic and felt everything they were doing. I found out after it was because they give less sedation so they can get you out quicker because the clinic there is so busy 😬

MrsLouB · 05/06/2020 10:18

@@ivfgottobepositive well done on EC and they are good quality eggs you have given them x

@@HJF84 sounding positive of getting some good eggs on monday x

i know i shouldn't but at this time before ET my anxiety starts about money like how will i afford a baby how will i get through maternity pay and childcare we dont have enough spare cash as it is and with my wage cut recently due to covid means i have less than i wanted to put away each month, i know we coudl get through it but being my DH's family is the only ones we have none on my side and they live an hour away its not like i have family help x

Mrbay · 05/06/2020 10:22

@ivfgottostaypositive - I just had the comment - you're tall, aren't ya? with my fuzzy brain, I didn't know why I was asked or how to answer! I'm 5'8" so I don't think of myself as tall, just normal height so it threw me.

That's odd because I'm with Care and it was only myself and another in for EC and they didn't give the impression that they were pushing people through - they told me off for getting up too quickly!
But I didn't like the sensation at all, thankfully, I raised it at my last consultation and the doc said I could have more - so looking forward to my drug induced sleep in a few weeks (everything is crossed I get to EC)

OP posts:
ivfgottostaypositive · 05/06/2020 10:24

@MrsLouB

Don't worry you'll find a way. If someone said to me 5 years ago I'd need to find the same value as my mortgage each month (£800) to pay for childcare I'd have said it was never possible. In the end we have managed it. It was tight at times - and didn't buy clothes for a long time, my BMW sports car went back in pace of a Ford c max, no holidays, and all luxuries were cut out but it was worth it.

I went with a childminder in the end as they tend to be much cheaper and I needed full time care. Also signed up to everything I could - work place vouchers and then the government tax free childcare account (whatever you pay in they top up 20%). My mother also did come over for a couple of days every couple of weeks (they live 100 miles away)

HT2101 · 05/06/2020 12:31

Congratulations @MorgenMuffel Lovely news!!

@HJF84 do you mind if I ask what clinic you’re at? I will have to start Prednisolone if I reach ET stage. I start down regs next week, I’m at the Lister and they haven’t mentioned the Prednisolone but have let me start.

Dbrook · 05/06/2020 13:14

@ivfgottostaypositive great news on the eggs and hope you get some good news from the embryology team tomorrow.

Had my second scan today. Not really sure what to think. One is at 17mm, one at 15mm, two at 12mm and 5 between 6 and 9mm. At my first scan I had 14 follicles in total including the tiny ones so not sure what happened to the other 5!

elleceedee · 05/06/2020 13:20

@HJF84 sounding good for Monday, fingers crossed!

@ivfgottostaypositive well done for getting through EC! Hope you had a nice rest Smile Hope you get some good news from the embryologist tomorrow.

@Mrbay haha at a satnav for your period! Grin I can't believe there's still no sign of mine, not even any spotting or cramps - so annoying!

@HT2101 are you doing FET or fresh cycle?

@MrsLouB try not to stress about money. Like @ivfgottostaypositive said you do just find it and I frequently think what the heck did I do with all my money before DD?!

elleceedee · 05/06/2020 13:23

Sorry @Dbrook missed your post! How strange that you had more follicles at your last scan but that's still a decent number of follicles though! When is your next scan?

MrsLouB · 05/06/2020 13:37

thanks @elleceedee @ivfgottostaypositive i just dont see any spare i am good with finances and have a spreadsheet of all incoming and outgoign apart from DH has we both pay an amount in to the joint account each month and there is now way we would 800-1000 spare i dont know ill worry about childcare and stuff when i get there x

HT2101 · 05/06/2020 13:45

@elleceedee Fresh cycle again
