Hi

Couldn't see a thread for May/June - hoping that I'm not on my own for this cycle as its our 2nd cycle and feeling worried that I won't get to transfer.

Would be great to share the ups and downs with others, I'm starting buserelin next Wednesday (27th May).

Thanks @takingthistooseriously. She said they wouldn’t change the dose as that would just cause the 4 stronger ones to rush ahead but the slower ones wouldn’t catch up. I have another scan on Friday.

ivfgottostaypositive · 03/06/2020 13:39

@Dbrook

It's rubbish isn't it. I was given the option of cancelling on my 1st of 3 cycles in January as only had 2 follicles but held my nerve and went ahead and both made it to freeze. I feel more upset about it this time - I guess because it's just likely to the be the one - all my eggs literally in one basket so to speak! 🤣

MorgenMuffel · 03/06/2020 13:56

@Dbrook sorry to hear about such an insensitive comment, they really should know better! 4 is a good start though, and hopefully the others will catch up.

@ivfgottostaypositive I stimmed and triggered the same night on my last fresh cycle, and got a reasonable amount of eggs so all is not lost! Hope you get the news about triggering today so you can start to prepare for EC - I've found the not knowing when everything is going to happen is sometimes the hardest bit.

@takingthistooseriously hope you are feeling better soon, it might just be the sudden change in weather making us all feel a bit weird! I have been very thirty and very hot yesterday and today, imagine it's just the progesterone (or I am coming down with something :s). Not too long to wait now though....!

@HJF84 I test at home. There is the option to go to the clinic for bloods but I want to minimse using public transport, and figured I'd test anyway even if I was getting bloods! Also not sure that I want a stranger on the phone telling me its negative, and not having any control over when that call is - I'd much rather test myself and find out three mins later!

Think I'm going to end up finishing work early today and watching some TV as finding it hard to concentrate. DH is wandering about a bit too so think the wait is getting to him too. Hopefully we can find a film or something we both want to watch tonight.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is getting on x

MrsLouB · 03/06/2020 14:23

@takingthistooseriously hope you feel better drink a lot of lukazade sport hoping you get to transfer friday

@MorgenMuffel when is your test day ? the wait is the worst part i dont know why it goes so slow, but then on a normal week im like of wow its thursday again so nearly over

Just had our call and we transfer on Tuesday just have to hope our little embryo defrosts ok now ..oh and start the lovely cycologest and lubion tomorrow yuck

MorgenMuffel · 03/06/2020 16:14

@MrsLouB great news you've got your transfer date and not far away at all! I did a natural FET so didn't take anything other than a trigger and then progesterone - hope you don't suffer too many side effects.

I test tomorrow 😬 although think I am going to be weeing all night as on to litre 4 of water as I'm so bloody hot and thirsty, so will have to try and hold for a bit in the early hours 😅

MrsLouB · 03/06/2020 16:51

@MorgenMuffel good luck for tomorrow have everything crossed for you x

RosettaR · 03/06/2020 17:33

@MorgenMuffel I'll have everything crossed for you tomorrow! I hope there's a good film for you to watch in the meantime.

Can anyone help me? I'm having a panic (already). I've had hay fever the last week, not too bad but it's definitely contributing to my sleep being really disturbed. I've been avoiding antihistamines even though my clinic says they're fine, because apparently histamine might play some kind of role in implantation, although there doesn't seem to be any actual evidence antihistamines have an impact either way. I've now done too much reading on how important sleep is in ivf and am thinking I should probably start taking them, because there seems to be more evidence lack of sleep is bad. What would other people do?

Dbrook · 03/06/2020 18:38

Hi @RosettaR I’d say if your clinic says antihistamines are fine then it’s probably safe to go ahead. I’m barely sleeping either, too hot and too much overthinking!

ivfgottostaypositive · 03/06/2020 18:50

I've agreed to trigger tonight with egg collection Friday - looks like it will be just the 1 follicle so I just hope that this is my top quality one for the month!

I'm going to see whether they'll do a day 3 transfer if it makes it to then with another day 3 I also have frozen

Lemongrass1 · 03/06/2020 18:58

Hi, is it ok if I join here? I’m quite a bit behind most of you from the sound of things so not sure if it’s the right place. Starting downreg Fri for a FET, hopefully transfer early July. Relieved to be able to restart this FET again. X

ivfgottostaypositive · 03/06/2020 19:39

@Lemongrass1

Welcome! I remember you from other threads x

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 03/06/2020 20:24

Hello @Lemongrass1

Yippeee to re- starting things!
Your transfer will be the same time as mine.

HJF84 · 03/06/2020 21:16

@ivfgottostaypositive It only takes one! And it's the one your body chose this month. Good luck with the trigger.

@MrsLouB Congrats on the transfer date!

@dbrook Four follicles is not bad at all. We hear so many people getting lots, but not everyone's bodies can cope with producing that amount. What is your AMH levels like? I hope you feel better now

@MorgenMuffel Good luck for tomorrow 🤞🏼

My scan was interesting! My dominant follicle has shrunk? It was measuring 16mm yesterday and now it's 14mm? The doctor can't be sure it is a follicle, it could be a cyst but if it is, it's not producing any hormones, as my bloods are normal. The dr did say my bloods weren't at the level yesterday they would expect to see with a dominant follicle that size. It does mean that my other follicles are able to catch up. I have one coming in at 14mm, another at 11m and another at 10mm with a few more lower than 8mm. I'm back again for another scan on Friday. The doctor said looking at my other follicles, it's where he would expect them to be at this point in my cycle (day 8). So no trigger for me yet.

MorgenMuffel · 03/06/2020 21:17

@Lemongrass1 welcome aboard!

@ivfgottostaypositive good luck with trigger tonight and I've got everything crossed that your body is producing one top notch egg for you. Hope the clinic are happy to go with two to transfer at day 3.

@MrsLouB thank you. Less than 12hrs to go now! Keep veering between positivity and the complete reverse. At least its a little cooler tonight so hopefully will sleep a bit more.

@RosettaR I'd go with what the clinic says. It is so easy to go down a rabbit hole on Google! The main thing is that you feel comfortable with your choices and as relaxed as possible.

MorgenMuffel · 03/06/2020 21:18

@HJF84 hope you're not feeling too worried about the scan results today, as you say hopefully they will even out a bit over the next couple of days.

thanks, will be sure to update everyone tomorrow!

takingthistooseriously · 03/06/2020 22:21

@RosettaR I'd be tempted to go with the clinic too. Especially as that should get you some more sleep and everything seems better after a good sleep!

@MorgenMuffel thank you, I'm feeling better this evening after a day of electrolytes and rest. Really excited for you for tomorrow!!

@Lemongrass1 welcome! I saw some of the coronavirus thread as my cycle was also cancelled in March. I bet it feels good to be given the green light after your wait!

@HJF84 that sounds like good news overall, hopefully you'll get more eggs than you thought

Dbrook · 03/06/2020 22:28

Thanks @HJF84 that’s reassuring. My AMH is 23 so I thought I would respond well. I’m with ABC who focus on a milder quality over quantity approach but maybe it’s too mild for me. If this round doesn’t work out I might switch to a clinic who do more conventional IVF.

Your scan does sound interesting! I thought they had already ruled out a cyst? Hope the other follicles do get a chance to catch up now.

@MorgenMuffel best of luck tomorrow

@Lemongrass1 welcome!

@ivfgottostaypositive good luck with the trigger tonight

Faikak · 03/06/2020 23:45

Very nervous tonight. They retrieved 4 eggs today and waiting to hear if they fertilise. Trying to keep my hopes up but really worried they won’t. This journey is very tough.

MrsLouB · 04/06/2020 06:35

@RosettaR i would go with the clinic too i have also read different things on the antihistamines and have avoided taking them even though my hayfever is bad at the moment but i they are the experts

@DBrook i cannot believe she said that to you! I am 39 and my clinic didnt say it in anyway or course over 35 fertility goes down but you still have a great chance they where looking at a possible freeze all for my first cycle as i only had a few popping over the cover line but ended getting 9 mature from that cycle .

@HJF84 that is strange but good news that some have a chance to catch up in growth xxx

@morgenmuffel have everything crossed for you today xx

MrsLouB · 04/06/2020 06:44

@MorgenMuffel quick one how many days past transfer are you? In my mind its only 9? Are you testing at home or are they doing bloods? Just wondered as my clinic give you an at home test to do at 11dpt and no earlier but i do test earlier as I'm as test addict. But i always look at a 5 day embryo and 9 days past that is a normal period cycle. X

elleceedee · 04/06/2020 07:56

Good luck this morning @MorgenMuffel

MorgenMuffel · 04/06/2020 08:47

@MrsLouB you are right, I am exactly 9dp5dt. Its the date my clinic gave as OTD. I just do a test at home - I bought some FRERs to minimise the doubt! I am 14DPO based on when I took my trigger so I guess that's why they say its fine to test.

@all I woke up a about 4.30 but managed to wait it out until 7. I am in complete shock but I got my first BFP ever!!! Very teary but grinning like a Cheshire cat. I know it is so so early and so many things could go wrong still, so going to try and take it one day at a time.

Hope this news isn't too hard for anyone to read. Good luck with everyone's tests, scans and injections today x

HJF84 · 04/06/2020 08:53

@MorgenMuffel Yes! That's amazing news! Congratulations. You must be over the moon. I'm so pleased our little group has started off on a positive note. I wish you a healthy and happy 9 months 🙌🏻

JandL2020 · 04/06/2020 08:56

Congratulations xxx

elleceedee · 04/06/2020 09:06

Incredible news @MorgenMuffel and hopefully the first of many BFPs on this thread! I'm so pleased for you!
