Hi all,

Just wondering if any one else is awaiting information from BWH in relation to when they will start back up?
Thought we could have a board to share info?

xx

Thank you @jm2020, all went well. I'll be on a mild protocol. We won't start until September's cycle which is a bit of a bummer, but happy we've got started. Got another appointment to come to do the injection teach and go through the protocol, probably early September.

I actually have 2x 16mm follicles almost ready to pop, one on each ovary, so will have a last ditch attempt ttc.

I hope you hear something soon, have you called yet? Xx

jm2020 · 04/08/2020 16:28

Oh no why September?

What was the clinic like? Are they lovely lol?

No will call first thing, I chickened out today lol

xx

I'm not sure why it'll be September, I said I'm due af at the end of August, but they're booking me in for my protocol meeting early September.

The nurse I saw was lovely, answered all my questions!

It's smaller than I'd imagined but everyone we spoke to was nice. We both had bloods done today too, so got a nurse calling on Thursday - feel like I'm going yo forget evetything!! They're putting me on a mild protocol. It felt very thorough today.

Make the call!! :) xx

Pinktruffle · 04/08/2020 17:14

You usually start your injections on day 5 of your period so that might be why you are starting in September?

There are a ton of youtube videos on how to do the injections so don't worry too much if you cant remember everything, pretty much all the information is available away from the clinic

VenusStarr · 04/08/2020 17:50

Thanks @Pinktruffle - would it make a difference that I have short cycles? I've been ovulating on cd10 so not much time to grow my follicles?

Hope you're getting on OK x

jm2020 · 04/08/2020 19:10

I'm calling them tomorrow :)

Did they mention anything about self-isolating during treatment?
I've seen other clinics are asking people to isolate

xx

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 04/08/2020 19:32

Yes I asked about that @jm2020 she just said to ensure we were following government guidelines. Not soecuficalky self isolate, but if we can stay clear of people that's preferable, so working from home etc. We won't get a covid rest because we're both at home at the moment.

Let me know how you get on xx

VenusStarr · 04/08/2020 19:33

Ps, she agreed that the notes the bwh sent weren't great! It's literally just the letters, no actual results etc, but it's not stopping us getting started xx

jm2020 · 04/08/2020 20:11

oohhh
i'll have to ask them about it as I'm a manager of a retail store so I'm in contact with people alot but I wear a mask/visor.

Tbh I don't think BWH have been great at all with communication

x

OP posts:
Pinktruffle · 05/08/2020 00:20

@VenusStarr no it shouldn't make any difference. The sole point of the medication is that they artificially take over your cycle and control it so you won't ovulate till you have the trigger shot and they will tell you when to have that.

Im doing well thank, 23+5 now, my bump is coming along nicely and we've actually started buying stuff for the baby so it's all starting to feel real now!

Best of luck to you x

VenusStarr · 05/08/2020 11:22

That's brilliant news @Pinktruffle ☺️ and thank you, I think I'm just overthinking a lot at the moment! X

jm2020 · 06/08/2020 11:39

Hi @VenusStarr I finally phoned! She said they are still receiving referrals from BWH and she said once we have been processed someone will be in touch to get our first appointment booked in. She said they should be in contact sometime next week.

@Pinktruffle glad you are doing well :)

xx

VenusStarr · 06/08/2020 11:50

I'm glad you checked @jm2020 🙌 fingers crossed you'll hear next week, if not sooner. Definitely don't feel bad for checking on with them. Keep me posted xx

TinyPaws · 11/08/2020 10:00

Is anyone else having a nightmare trying to get through to reception on the phone? I've been trying to pay an invoice to BWH for ages and nobody ever picks up the phone.

Pinktruffle · 11/08/2020 12:10

I've tried a couple of times as I want to check what's happening with my frozen embryos but I'm yet to get through.

VenusStarr · 11/08/2020 13:56

Hi @TinyPaws I'm not a patient there anymore so not tried in a while. I found that when I contacted pals things did get resolved quickly.

@Pinktruffle hope you can get hold of someone soon

@jm2020 how are you? Xx

TinyPaws · 11/08/2020 16:39

I'm not a patient there either anymore but we're exporting sibling sperm from them to another clinic.

I have an email address for embryology and they were able to get someone to call me back, apparently there is reduced staffing on reception at the moment. @Pinktruffle I can PM you the email address if that's helpful?

Pinktruffle · 11/08/2020 16:57

That would be really helpful if you don't mind. Thank you @TinyPaws

VenusStarr · 12/08/2020 07:59

Glad you got hold of someone @TinyPaws. I remember you from the penguin huddle. Hope things are going well.

TinyPaws · 12/08/2020 10:22

Thanks @VenusStarr, I remember you too. I had a baby in April following a FET with prednisolone, inhixa and doxycycline. I think it was the prednisolone that made all the difference. I hope your fertility journey has a happy outcome and wish the same to all the penguin huddle ladies. x

VenusStarr · 12/08/2020 10:28

So pleased you had a happy outcome @TinyPaws ❤️ I remember we were due around the same time. Sadly no happy ending here yet and no answers for our recurrent losses (had another in February) but ivf is our next step 🤞
Best wishes x

jm2020 · 14/08/2020 17:02

Hi @VenusStarr hope you're ok, i phoned the clinic again today - I'm finally on their system but they are waiting for my nhs funding :( she said she is going to get the nhs team to chase it up and get in contact with me next week.

xx

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 14/08/2020 17:05

Oh @jm2020 they had to check mine too but it all came back quickly and then I was booked for the first appointment. I haven't heard anymore, they said I'd recieve the next consents and the protocol meeting, but nothing yet.

Keep chasing, you'll get there soon ❤️ keep me posted xx

jm2020 · 17/08/2020 15:15
