Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

Thanks @Chrissy338 fingers crossed it'll be over quickly enough!

Chrissy338 · 09/05/2020 15:14

Yeah I’m sure it will be , fingers crossed for your journey x

ktl1a · 09/05/2020 15:40

Ooooh sounds promising! So hard as yes could be to do with clomid but also may not be so stay positive and I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!! How many DPO are you?

Etonmess20 · 09/05/2020 16:03

Thanks @Chrissy338

@ktl1a I'm only 6dpo currently, that's why I'm trying not to get carried away 😬

ktl1a · 09/05/2020 16:08

Oh ok, yes still early but still sounds good :)

Etonmess20 · 09/05/2020 16:50

@ktl1a just so hard to know what's clomid & what isn't!

PukkaTeaAddict · 12/05/2020 15:24

Hi, how is everyone getting on? I am finding I'm really snappy, I'm not sure if it's the clomid or the fact that I'm on a diet 😂.

Etonmess20 · 12/05/2020 15:29

@PukkaTeaAddict haha the snappiness could be either but I did notice I was a little grumpy at times on the clomid!
I'm 9dpo today & have just received confirmation that if I haven't conceived this cycle I have a HyCoSy on 1st June to check my tubes are clear. Annoying I've been told that means no clomid & no TTC next cycle if no BFP this cycle

What CD are you today? Have you had any other symptoms?

Hosrom37 · 12/05/2020 16:39

Hello hope everyone is doing okay. This is my 11th month ttc after stopping depo. Well after just ONE depo shot. Never had any problems conceiving before, worst thing I've done to myself is agree to that shot. Anyways this is my 1st round on clomid. If it doesn't work I'm done. My periods are regular and like clockwork. Don't know why I've been unable to conceive. I bought clomid privately and am taking it unsupervised. Side effects were headaches and insomia. Ovulation day was full of cramps. I'm 8dpo today and I had sore nipples since ovulation. Bloating stopped at 3dpo. Cm is is still wet and very white. Tried doing cervix exams which feels high but firm and swollen.

PukkaTeaAddict · 12/05/2020 19:00

Hi @Etonmess20, keeping everything crossed for you! Sending you baby dust! (If that's what the saying is!).

That does sounds annoying, but at least if you get the tests done then it is either ruling a big thing out or it is one step closer to being able to getting that BFP. Plus a forced month off may not be that bad... you can eat what you want and drink as much as you want without worrying where you are in your cycle! 🍷

I'm on CD10, due to ovulate on Sunday I think. I'm tracking my BBT for the first time this month so will be able to know for definite in a few days. No other major symptoms, I'm a bit bloated, but I have IBS which means I'm bloated a lot of the time anyway!

Do you have any symptoms at the moment?

PukkaTeaAddict · 12/05/2020 19:06

Hi @Hosrom37! Sorry to hear that you've been trying a while now, are you trying for baby number one?

I'm in a similar position to you in that I bought the clomid online. Have you had any investigations done yet?

Etonmess20 · 12/05/2020 19:07

Hi @PukkaTeaAddict that is what I said to DP actually, can drink whatever I want for a month! Although I do have a bit of a taste for the non alcoholic stuff now anyway tbh!

Do you normally do OPKs? Sending you all the baby dust too for the next few days!!
I do have a few symptoms but it's so hard to know whether it's clomid or actually a symptom. Largely feeling a bit bloated, have sore boobs & get the occasional wave of feeling sick that then goes away. After so long TTC & never getting a BFP I kind of don't expect one anymore, as sad as that sounds!

Hosrom37 · 12/05/2020 19:50

@PukkaTeaAddict No I have two other children which were not planned. I had no problem before having the depo provera injection

PukkaTeaAddict · 12/05/2020 20:37

@Etonmess20 I do love a cheeky glass of wine (or bottle) so have found it hard almost completely giving it up for longer than a pregnancy! It's my birthday on Sunday and not sure how much I can get away with without messing everything up!

I did start doing OPKs which did show I was ovulating, but I have to admit I don't do them every month as I am super regular, have had a few positive OPKs and had a high 21 day progesterone so didn't think it was needed. Plus I hate constantly having to wee in a cup/ on sticks!

Do you do anything to monitor ovulation?

I know what you mean about not expecting it, I'm the same at this point. I still manage to slightly get my hopes up each month though. Do you usually do an early test or just leave it until AF comes?

Etonmess20 · 12/05/2020 21:53

@PukkaTeaAddict you can definitely have a few wines on your birthday, I always think of these people who get pregnant & don't know immediately etc & still carry on drinking.
I am super regular too & ovulate every month but I do CB (with the 3 smiles) but tbh you saying that does make me wonder why I bother. Think I just continued the habit thinking the hospital might ask & id have the evidence. I don't think I could do BBT, do you have to do it at specific times each morning?
I usually don't bother testing as I'm so regular & I'd kind of almost rather see AF than a BFN (eventhough it means the same thing). Do you?

PukkaTeaAddict · 12/05/2020 22:24

@Etonmess20 that is very true, I just worry about the effect on my hormones, but I think I'm worrying too much! I may get a bottle of Prosecco in... At least it's easier not drinking as much on my birthday being in lockdown!

I've got a Bluetooth bbt monitor which makes it so much easier! I just do it as soon as I wake up, and try not to move/talk too much before doing it. And because it's Bluetooth I don't need to worry about writing it down as it just syncs with my phone. I much prefer it to weeing on a stick/ in a cup but it's personal preference!
I went to see a TCM practitioner before lockdown to talk about what they could offer and he said to track bbt, so I thought I'd better do it this month as well.

I tell myself every month that I won't test but always give in and end up ordering a first response on amazon prime. I don't know why I do it to myself! Plus I dread to think how much money I have spent so far on pregnancy tests!

Etonmess20 · 13/05/2020 06:37

@PukkaTeaAddict a few glasses of Prosecco would be fine I'm sure, I understand the anxiety but you just end up putting your life on hold otherwise don't you?

Do you just take the temperature from your mouth? I did see the ovusense one & considered it but it was reasonably expensive when they're already pretty certain I ovulate every month anyway. Ooh that's interesting about the TCM person, did he say what they thought he could do to help?

God yeah I bet it's a fortune 😬 I might start doing one the day AF is due or the day after purely because I think due to the clomid it can change AF & maybe if it was super light (which I think it can be) I'd be worried it wasn't actually AF & they don't like you taking clomid again before you're sure it's a BFN that month x

PukkaTeaAddict · 13/05/2020 15:15

@Etonmess20 I know, I think that's why I've been finding it so difficult as my life has been on hold for so long!

I do just take it from my mouth. I bought mine from amazon, it was £23.99 I think, which was a bit expensive but I think it's worth it now as I've read that it can give an indication if anything is wrong.

The TCM Practitoner didn't say much, apart from measure your BBT and come back for an appointment! I imagine he would prescribe acupuncture and/or TCM medicine. I think it can be quite expensive though.

Yeah that's a good point about confirming you're not pregnant before starting clomid again. I've got a stash of cheap strip tests so I think I'll try and keep to those for now!

Etonmess20 · 13/05/2020 18:24

@PukkaTeaAddict I completely agree, it's rubbish isn't it, I always feel like I can't plan too far in advance for holidays too, like I wouldn't want to book one for 12 months time as you don't know what the situation will be.

Oh really? I might have a look at that, though I don't know if I need something else to obsess over 😂

ktl1a · 16/05/2020 09:08

@Etonmess20 @PukkaTeaAddict
Hi ladies! How are you getting on? Hope everything's going well! It wasn't my month unfortunately but I have ordered clomid (from the same place as you pukkateaaddict) and it should arrive today so I will take me first tablet tonight! Very hopeful but a bit anxious too!

Etonmess20 · 16/05/2020 09:49

Morning @ktl1a I'm CD13 today....got a few symptoms but not sure whether I can take the disappointment of testing & it being negative....😬
Good news about your clomid coming today, fingers crossed this is your cycle 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

ktl1a · 16/05/2020 10:02

@Etonmess20 Oh wow! What ate your symptoms? How long is your luteal phase usually? In my successful cycle I had a majorely strong positive test at 15DPO and my longest LP prior to that had been 14DPO.
I am super excited to be doing something proactive but a bit anxious about doing it without consultant approval... but tbh I am really struggling and mentally not coping well with just plodding along, feel like I have literally 0% chance when I do nothing! I'm just wondering if I can continue taking vitamins at the same time as clomid, looking in to it now.

Etonmess20 · 16/05/2020 10:11

@ktl1a I've got really sore & heavy boobs, feel bloated & a bit sicky occasionally & just tired all the time. It'll probably be nothing & will just be clomid symptoms I imagine 😕 I'm normally 14 or 15 LP, ovia app is predicting AF on Monday so we'll see. I have been having cramps on & off so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

I get what you mean, I suppose you'll just have to keep an even closer eye on your symptoms & seek medical advice if things don't feel right (though pretty sure you'll be fine). I haven't had any monitoring either so you wouldn't really be in a different position to me really. I've drilled carried on taking folic acid & a seven seas TTC supplement, although I'm not sure about others so worth a look

ktl1a · 16/05/2020 10:28

@Etonmess20 oh sore and heavy boobs is definitly a good one! That was my only symptom for my pregnancy! My sickness started at 5 weeks but was very gradual. It all sounds good so fingers crossed it will be your cycle! I have cramps all the time sp i've learnt that they aren't a symptom for me.

Yeah it is definitly similar as you aren't monitored, as far as I can tell the main risk is multiple pregnancies and I am ok with that so I figure it's worth a try. Just hope the tablets arrive today :) Did you take yours 2-6?

Etonmess20 · 16/05/2020 10:41

@ktl1a yeah but I've also read it can be a clomid symptom so just desperately trying not to get my hopes up. Don't know whether to do a FRER tomorrow morning, We've got to miss next cycle because of the HyCoSy as well ☹️
Yeah, I wasn't even really given any warnings by the doctor I don't think, she basically just said take them 2-6 & that was it 😂 I suppose other than multiples the only bad reaction could be OHSS but I think from the sounds of things you'd be in a fair amount of pain so should obvs go to a&e in that case anyway.
If your tablets don't come with the leaflet (I bet they will) but let me know & I'll take you a pic of the leaflet from mine x
