Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

@Etonmess20
I've just looked at flo and 6 days before my period I didn't log cramping, but I'm on new medication so I'm sure it's just that. I am feeling a bit light headed today and my boobs are still a little bit tender, but I feel otherwise normal.
This is what I'm hoping, I've never had an Apple Watch, so for me this is very exciting and I'm really hoping this will give me some much needed motivation!
When are you going to test? X

Etonmess20 · 08/07/2020 13:35

@Lauren87E it's hard to know isn't it, that's why I try to ignore symptoms now because you never know what's the medication & what's natural 🤷🏼‍♀️ so disheartening!

Super exciting, it helps set goals for daily activity & you can see progress at a glance with the rings! Makes me competitive with myself 😂 it's also nice you can log workouts, including your dog walks

I am having a good day today though as Rishi has just saved us over £11k in stamp duty 🥳

Don't know whether to test at all if I'm honest, AF is due Monday according to my app so maybe Tuesday is AF hasn't arrived, hard to know what to do! How about you? X

@Etonmess20

£11k!!!! Whipppeee! You must be so chuffed!
Yes I agree I cannot be hopeful because of the medication and it's side effects.
I can't get my head around the watch, I'm trying to work it all out, it's like Christmas has come early!
I will test the day after my af due date too.
Then il be sure of the result. I have a bottle of wine in the kitchen that I've had since my birthday and if af arrives I will treat myself to a glass as a consolation prize lol! And then I will get myself really into my fitness. Got to keep a positive spin on things x

@Lauren87E we are, it's crazy, we were just saying how lucky stuff like that never happens to us.....maybe luck comes in threes like bad things seem to?! 🤞🏻

Haha you'll get used to it, it's amazing to see how much you move & to track your progress! Give it a couple of hours & it'll be telling you to stand up & move around 😂

You definitely shouldn't assume you're out because of cramps, because they're a decent amount of time before AF. At least the wine is a nice consolation & something to look forward to! Probably me talking absolute rubbish but surely a positive mindset will help? 😂 if you have to bribe yourself with wine to stay positive then you've got to do what you've got to do! 🍷

Lauren87E · 11/07/2020 09:19

Hey @Etonmess20 how are you doing? The weekend is finally here! Yippee! Doing really well with the Apple Watch, it's brilliant. Are you testing tomorrow? Are you noticing any symptoms at all? 🧐😃

Etonmess20 · 11/07/2020 09:39

@Lauren87E hi! I'm good thanks, how are you doing? Any plans this weekend? Glad you're getting on well with the watch! Even if it makes you more aware of your exercise etc then it's a good thing!
Definitely yipee for the weekend, found out our mortgage is fully confirmed yesterday (took agggggggggges cus of COVID!) & also found out we're getting our bonus at work so full on yipee for me! Hoping they aren't my three pieces of good news (along with stamp duty holiday announced Wednesday) & there's still some good news left for a BFP! 😂
House sale is coming along so quickly as well, probably only 6-8 weeks away now, maybe slightly less!!
I've been having symptoms but I had symptoms on the first cycle of clomid so trying not to ready too much into it 🤷🏼‍♀️ don't actually know whether I will test or whether I'll just wait to see if AF arrives as,strangely, I find that slightly less distressing than a BFN! Do you have symptoms & when are you planning to test?

Sun is trying to shine here so I hope you've got some too ☀️☀️☀️

Lauren87E · 11/07/2020 10:18

@Etonmess20 not much planned for the weekend other than housework and trying to get out in the garden.
That's so lovely that you have so much good news. And to get a bonus during the coronavirus pandemic is extremely lucky! Well done.
I have had some symptoms, but like you it's hard to tell. I have felt dizzy, out of breath, thirsty and when I go for a wee (sorry) I feel like I am not fully finished. Bit dehydrated and my lips are really sore. My boobs are still tender and I'm a little bloated. I have felt so so hot, but I was like that on clomid. Because I've started letrozole I imagine it's the same as clomid to be honest. But I don't know whether to test on Monday or wait to see what happens, your absolutely right, it's less deflating than seeing a BFN. I am also having the most vivid dreams, every single night x

Etonmess20 · 11/07/2020 17:58

@Lauren87E the housework never ends does it? Especially being at home so much due to lockdown!
Yeah definitely, we are really lucky. It'll just be so nice to be all moved in & settled. Been & ordered our new settees today & probably going to order some other bits of furniture tomorrow!
I've had some very similar symptoms, felt a bit sick at times too & am exhausted. It's so hard to know isn't it & after so many disappointments I never actually expect it anymore!
I probably won't bother to test until Tuesday (AF due Monday). Do you think you'll be able to hold off testing? Do you have another month of letrozole or are you back to the consultant if this month isn't successful?

Lauren87E · 11/07/2020 19:38

@Etonmess20
The housework is just constant. You can see why people have cleaners. I am due af on Tuesday so will test Wednesday. I have two more cycles of letrozole and then we apply for IVF.
Sounds like you have so many things to keep you busy and mentally stimulated. It's all very exciting for you. 🥳

Etonmess20 · 11/07/2020 19:56

@Lauren87E I can, but unfortunately I am one of those terrible people who enjoys cleaning 😂 I find it so satisfying & destressing! So sad I know!

Do you know how many funded cycles you would be entitled to in your area? Although I have my fingers crossed that you'll get your BFP & won't need any of them! 🤞🏻

So nice to have people to talk to about all of this isn't it? Such a journey of shit & genuine people you can share with that get it make it that bit less shit! X

Lauren87E · 11/07/2020 20:04

@Etonmess20
You must be a Mrs Hinch fan, I have to admit she definitely helps me get some enthusiasm for cleaning. We are renovating our house so lots of places in the house are unfinished. Not massively but just carpet for the stairs and things to hang up etc, and our bedroom is the last room to do. We've been here for 4 years and we both work full time so I think we've done ok.
My other half has been outside starting the decking today, I cannot wait to have somewhere outside where we can chill. Putting chairs on grass and our bbq has been a bit of a pain.
Talking to you has been so great, sometimes I feel so lonely by it all, and just a brief check in, helps! Thank you 😊
And we only have one round of IVF on our CCG.
I can't complain as we are lucky to even get that.
I just hope I fall naturally and then we won't have to go through it all. But it's out of my hands. We are doing all that we can. It just boggles my mind that we have unexplained infertility, I hate not knowing why, at least if I knew I could blame it on something. X

Etonmess20 · 11/07/2020 20:26

@Lauren87E I have always liked cleaning if I'm honestly but yes Mrs Hinch does definitely help with little tips & new products to buy! I just love having a nice clean house, DP is the same! We always do a blitz once a week & we have a proper little routine of who does what & what order etc. Now I've written that down it sounds a bit sad 😂
Ah that's nice you've been renovating, we really wanted something to renovate & did see a house we very nearly put an offer in on but we're hoping we won't have time to do a project (as the clomid will hopefully be successful) so we are buying something that is already fully done!
That will be lovely when your gardens sorted how you want it, I think lockdown has made people realise how important their homes are to them. I know it's definitely made us really want more space & a garden
It is so hard with unexplained infertility, I have also really struggled to get my head around why we've found it so difficult. Like you say, at least if you know what the problem is you can take steps to resolve it or you can at least understand it. It's the not knowing isn't it?

Etonmess20 · 12/07/2020 10:13

@Lauren87E so I think AF might be here, had mini AF types pains this morning then DP & I DTD. Since then I have gone from a little bit of brown type spotting to now heavier & starting to get more blood like 😢

Feeling more emotional than usual about it, just about to get in the shower so I can have a little cry then get on with the day

Lauren87E · 12/07/2020 12:47

Oh @Etonmess20 I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel your pain, that has happened to us too one month. And that month I was convinced I was pregnant. Just keep plugging on with the house move and try and get a big tub of ice cream in! What are you watching on Netflix at the moment? Let yourself be upset, it's ok. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better, only that your not alone 😘

Lauren87E · 12/07/2020 12:48

You're not your (tut)

Etonmess20 · 12/07/2020 14:27

@Lauren87E been out for a few hours looking for bits for the new house, wore a tampon as obviously lack of open toilets is a worry & didn't want to risk it & it's really quite light & pinky/brown (sorry TMI) but I think it's the start of AF.
I have obviously had all my good luck just lately 😂 onto cycle 3 of clomid!

We're not really big Netflix fans in all honesty, we did watch Gangs of London recently which was really good but we definitely need to get back on Netflix (not had chance since the footballs started back up!)

Thank you 😘 just nice someone else understands! How's things with you today? X

Lauren87E · 12/07/2020 15:04

@Etonmess20
Maybe DTD brought your af on a little early as you're actually due on tomorrow aren't you? You've had some really good luck recently but that doesn't mean you're all out! You've still got many more opportunities yet!
I'm watching something on Prime at the moment but Netflix is just brilliant for documentaries etc.
No sign of AF just yet, but not due on until Tuesday. I'm not hopeful at all, in my heart of hearts I think I have blocked Fallopian tubes, and I think we will get to the IVF treatment and find that out. I have a hair appointment at 5pm today and I can't wait! Then a nice long dog walk later x

Etonmess20 · 12/07/2020 16:56

@Lauren87E yeah I think you're right tbh, don't know whether to count today as CD1 or go for tomorrow because it hasn't been full flow. Yeah my Ovia app said due tomorrow so it isn't that far wrong really

I have spent a lot of time since the period a number of months ago when I really struggled mentally trying to be more grateful for what I have because I appreciate whilst we may be struggling TTC we are still very lucky compared to others. Just hard some days isn't it! Not that I'm not grateful, but you spend all the time thinking of what you don't have rather than why you do have don't you?

Have you not had a HyCoSy or HSG or anything? I thought the same before I had my HyCoSy so I was surprised when they said they were clear.

Ahhhhhh nice!!! Bit of pampering is always good! My nail lady isn't back to work until a week Monday so I'm really looking forward to getting my nails done!

Lauren87E · 12/07/2020 17:05

@Etonmess20
If it were me I would wait until tomorrow to count as CD1, but you do what you think is best.
That's absolutely right, I am extremely blessed and it is very hard to be thankful all of the time. You would think just conceiving a baby would be a natural process and certainly not as hard as it has been for us. But whilst I am on medication and have IVF in sight, I must stay focused on more opportunities rather than getting to a stage of no more meds and no IVF rounds.
I haven't been offered a hycosy, I did tell them my concerns but they said it was rare, and they did do an ultrasound to check everything looked normal, but I'm pretty certain they can't see scar tissue etc?
I went through a dark stage too, I think it's normal. And you are so active and you have a good positive mindset so don't be too hard on yourself, all of your happiness and probably contributed to all of your good luck lately.
Oh wonderful, I think I may have to book in with a nail salon soon, but I bet they will be chocca! X

Etonmess20 · 12/07/2020 17:58

@Lauren87E I was thinking along the same lines to be fair, I think I will do tomorrow as CD1 then start the clomid on Tuesday.
Yeah, the irony of all those years you spend taking the pill religiously because if you miss one you'll get pregnant 😂 I suppose they have to make it seem so easy because for some people it is. I just feel like (& sounds like you're the same) we both have good careers, a (soon to be) nice house, supportive family, good friends, we can easily support a child so how is it fair we can't have one?! Suppose you try to look at things like that logically & there's no logic to that 🤷🏼‍♀️
I'm really surprised you haven't had anything offered to you like that, really bad how people's care can differ based on where they live/what doctor they see. To my mind they could do it for you & then at least rule that out. I'm sure they're probably right & everything is all nice & clear but until you have had it done that's just a guess surely

I'm hoping once we've moved we can get a little holiday in somewhere warm before the end of the year (if everything stays ok with corona). I really do feel like I need a break from work & everything. Do you think you'll manage to get away?

Lauren87E · 13/07/2020 16:57

@Etonmess20
How are you doing today? Me and my other half DTD last night (early hours) and I had some rusty brown dry discharge, so sorry if TMI but I've never had that before. I've had brown and pink but never dry and flakey. It was so weird and now nothing? Boobs still hurt and I feel really tired but I have got the odd af cramps. Due on tomorrow so we will see. My progesterone levels were really good, my dr called this morning. If I don't come on by Wednesday and I get a negative test I'm going to call the fertility clinic. X

Etonmess20 · 13/07/2020 21:04

@Lauren87E hi lovely, I'm good thank you, how are you?

Hmmmm no I've never had dry like that either, suppose all you can do is see what happens! I've got my fingers crossed that it might be good news for you this month 🤞🏻
That's good, does that mean they're sure you ovulated & the letrozole is working? 🙏🏼

Lauren87E · 13/07/2020 21:22

@Etonmess20
I suppose time will tell. I'm in no rush to get a test and waste more money for an unhappy result.
Yes the letrozole has worked. I'm thrilled with the results but ultimately it's all down to timing, and any other obstacle my body decides to throw at me! But I have two more cycles left so that's good.
How's the house stuff going? My friend has just had an offer of 10k above asking price! Looks like now is the time to buy after all! I have seen in the news the £3k decorating scheme from the government, or it could be £5k actually x

Etonmess20 · 13/07/2020 21:34

@Lauren87E to be honest I'm the same as you, another unsuccessful month makes me sad as it is without having to pay for the privilege of being extra sad! The outcome will be the same if you wait anyway, but maybe the unusual dry stuff was a good sign!
Yeah, I mean I can't even look at my calendar from last months fertile window, DTD every other day leading upto positive OPK then DTD that day then the next 3 consecutive days, then a day off then DTD again & still nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it's largely just luck timing wise cus you never really know when you actually ovulated do you?

Yeah it's going really well thank you, sent (hopefully) the last bit of paperwork back to the solicitor before we sign contracts. We're hoping we'll be in by my birthday (5th September) but we'll see!
How's things with you aside from TTC? How's work been? X
