@Stace999 @Minster2012 then Friday is D-day! And I shall have the wine chilling in fridge, desperately hoping I don't need it!!

lls1990 · 12/02/2020 07:28

So sorry @seven201 it's always hard no matter if you get to the end of the tww or not.

Congratulations to the people who have had bfp since I've last been on.

Had my parents over last night as it was the 2 year anniversary of my sister's death 😢 and my mum is a nightmare with tempting me to test early! My OTD is the 19th and they go on holiday the 18th so she was asking me if I could do it on the 17th. My dad was (as always) being the voice of reason and reminding her that technology exists and she will be told either way just as immediately as if she was in this country (she's not even going anywhere with a time difference!). I was planning on being really good especially after hearing about what happened to you the first time @Stace999 but now she's reignites that devil on my shoulder!! My husband has a firm stick to the rules and don't test a day early approach so he is keeping me strong!

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 07:40

@rainbow178 🤞🏻No wine is needed

@lls1990 love your dad talking your mum round! Sorry to hear about your sister, it’s good they are supportive of you that’s lovely and fingers crossed of good news for you all on OTD xx

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 07:47

So as a random one then ladies to pass the time slightly & try & get a few different ideas as I think we can all get stuck in ruts.... Cos I’m a meal planner kind of a lady...
what are you eating today? If you know ...

Breakfast, lunch & tea (or dinner whatever you say!)

  • B- because I’ve got the day off I’ve treated myself to avacado & bacon followed by mango with my one cup of coffee for the day (usually porridge)
L- planning on making some soup for next few days in bid to be healthy T - moussaka

We are trying to be meat free at least 2 days a week so today is one day and on my day off I have more time to cook & can put in freezer!
Just for fun!

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 08:51

I forgot to mention for dessert today I will be scoffing the other half of the chocolate cheesecake DH brought back for me yesterday saying “happy Valentine’s Day” so that’s not healthy AT ALL 😂😂

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 09:04

Good morning @minster2012 sorry I was a bit confused is bacon not meat? :) Or do you eat one of those fake ones?

B- 2toasts with avocado spread (I make it myself - I know nerd alert), pharma ham on one (as I looked it up it's not considered processed meat) and smoked salmon slices on the other one (also looked up if that counts as raw fish, but apparently it doesn't), cherry tomatoes, black olives and celery sticks with hummus plus I love to sprinkle sprouts on my toasts. I squeezed 1grapefruit and 2oranges for a drink as I gave up coffee the day before my ET, if this 2WW wasn't hard enough, I have never taken a break this long from having coffee....
L- chicken soup I cooked yesterday
D- spanish chicken and chorizo casserole, found the recipe on BBC good food and it looks amazing

DobbieFreeElf · 12/02/2020 09:30

@lls1990 that’s why we haven’t told anyone about us having treatment, I couldn’t be dealing with anyone asking me questions about how it’s going, has it worked, can’t I just test now just in case!!

@Minster2012 Breakfast was bacon medallions, cherry tomatoes and 2 eggs! (One was a double yolker which my husband is convinced is a lucky sign). Lunch will probably be a soup or roast beef wrap (need to finish the last of Sunday’s beef today). Supper will be Thai salad with turkey mince.

I had a terrible night’s sleep again, woken at 3.15am by the night walker (aka DS) and at the moment as soon as my sleep is interrupted my mind jumps into action and so I didn’t go back to sleep, gave up at 4.30 and snuck down to the sofa where I watched some car crash TV and had a little doze.

I’m convinced I can feel my period coming. I’d have thought that after so long TTC that I would be quite good at the TWW but this one is worse than any other. I think it’s because I know that something has happened (ie fertilisation) and therefore I feel much more anticipation for the outcome... that and the £££ we’ve dropped on getting this far!

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 10:52

Ooo this is great @Lily999 no you are right the bacon is real it’s just we were meant to be having moussaka tomorrow but I realised I wouldn’t have time to cook it so I swapped to today!!

I thought smoked salmon & Parma ham were out so that’s good!! I love smoked salmon mmmmm I might wait & ask the clinic to see if it’s necessary anyway obs based on result. I was going on NHS website where they said 2 cups of coffee ok so I have one per day I couldn’t cut out entirely you are so good!!

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 11:22

Yes, I thought the same as I stopped eating processed meat on the 1st of Jan and DH did a lot of research then turns out if you buy the proper Parma ham that is smoked meat, not processed.
Raw fish is dangerous for pregnant women because of parasites that can cause Listeriosis and the only way to kill the parasites is to cook, roast or smoke the fish in order to make it safe. So smoked fish is ok as long as it has been exposed to high temperatures or has been frozen as that kills them too.
I must admit giving up coffee is more dificult than I thought, I am constantly sleepy from the extra progesterone and on the top of that I don't drink coffee so this 2WW is hard! :) But will be over soon.

BambiOnIce80 · 12/02/2020 11:30

@Minster2012 @Lily999 you're both making my stomach grumble! 😂

Just wanted to hop in because I'd heard different about parma ham 🤔 DP is Italian and said that parma ham isn't smoked, it's cured instead, so we'd have to freeze it first or cook it if we were going to use it. The link below seems to agree with him - hope it helps.x

www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/eating-pregnancy-myths-debunked

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 12:43

Oh noooo I love that ham, will be soo hard to give up. So I see smoked salmon in the UK twice a week (that's precisely what he told me)is fine so at least I can have that. What if the package says it was smoked?

rainbow178 · 12/02/2020 12:45

Yes cured meats are ok as long as they are frozen or cooked first- great news for me and my pizza habit!!!

BambiOnIce80 · 12/02/2020 13:08

I think it depends on if it was hot or cold smoked @Lily999 🤔 If you just freeze it first and defrost it before using, you'll be fine 👍

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 13:51

Haha ok I can certainly do that, will just chuck them in the freezer (that's where I keep my spare embryos as well - sorry couldn't resist) :D

It's so hard today as I know you got your BFP @bambionice80 on 9dp5dt, but it was a blood test, so I am still keeping strong.

However if it's a negative this weekend I will drink sooo much coffee I won't sleep until March!

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 14:17

That’s useful thank you @BambiOnIce80, what is not useful is DP has just text me to say he’s got a massive steak for us for Valentine’s Day & I usually eat steak blue... I know I can’t do that but I was hoping medium rare???!! 😫😔

I think freezing the Parma ham is fine

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 15:12

Also hilariously yesterday I got ID’d for my “fizzero” non alcohol Prosecco type thing from M&S for Valentine’s Day which was funny at the self service checkout as it still comes under the alcohol section 😂

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 15:18

Wow, didn't know that, it's funny :) I would go for at least medium and above, will you make it at home so you have control over it?
I think I am getting ready to find out the results. Got my plan B, all the things already lined up that I can't do and enjoy if it's a positive, so I think I will be able to work up the courage and test tomorrow. OR not. Then Friday :) Well, we'll see.

I have no symptoms apart from the ones I had before even ET so they are 100% from the progesterone.
Also don't feel AF is coming that's another bad thing apparently as most girls did think that, so I will just leave it to faith to decide and will be able to accept it either way.

@rainbow178 are you tempted to test? Any symptoms? @Stace999 how are you getting on?

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 15:27

@Lily999 yes cooking at home so will be able to control it i might do medium rare then just do mine more or look up a fancy way to do it, it’s a fancy steak for two apparently so maybe oven it afterwards should still make it tender 🤔

Was yours a fresh transfer @lily999?
Good to have plan b, we’ve been invited out the night after what is our OTD & have kinda had to say “ooo we aren’t sure about if we can get babysitter til maybe end of the week?” The night out is sat 22nd, Our OTD is 21st but we may test on the weds 19th as this is my day off & can be miserable on my own if necessary then work out plans
That would be 12dp5dt of FET

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 15:53

Yes, it was our first ever round and had one 5BA embryo put back in plus one landed in the freezer that is 4AB, we'll see.
I will have a coffee for the morning and a glass of wine for the evening of OTD prepared, and hope to not drink them.
This week is full of dig dates for us as exactly 10years ago we had our first date (before our wedding the 12th of Feb was our anniversary), then obviously Friday is Valentine's Day plus our OTD is Saturday so.. very emotional to say the least.

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 16:11

Oh wow what a month!! So many fingers crossed @lily999!

We just went straight to freeze all and I haven’t had periods for years so can’t period symptom spot
It feels soooo long away for us!

Lily999 · 12/02/2020 16:25

Thank you @minster2012 I am a bit concerned DH will surprise me and take me out for dinner as I can barely stand up and my belly is incredibly bloated, seriously I don't think my skin could stretch any more than now.

Sooo much wind (romantic...), is the progesterone building up by the end of the 2WW????? I still have 5of these bloody gels, I think I might pop.

rainbow178 · 12/02/2020 16:50

@Lily999 VERY tempted to test!!! But I am going to hold off testing till Friday! My plan for a BFN is wine in the fridge and planning our summer holiday. My plan for BFP is re-test because I won't believe it!!

Stace999 · 12/02/2020 17:05

@Lily999 I am OK no symptoms but I'm really itchy 'down there' in the evenings I think it's the combination of the progesterone and the fact i am wearing a panty liner 24/7 due to the sodding pessaries and their 'leakage' sorry for the TMI hope you weren't eating your tea!
Ive been flat out with work this week not stressful thankfully just really busy and was out for dinner last night with family and again tonight with friends. Haven't particularly planned it for the TWW but it's a welcome distraction.
@lls1990 I may have been an exception and I am my own worst enemy as I've decided to test a day early this round BUT my reasoning is other people with a 5dt on same day as me have earlier test days so I am assuming it'll be accurate. I may still wait until OTD but then again I may cave and test Friday..who knows!

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 17:18

@Stace999 I’m like that and only 5 days in!! Bloody progesterone!

Lily999 · 13/02/2020 09:36

Good morning!
@Stace999 I read the leaflet and it does say irritation in and around the vagina is to be expected, nice..
I did not test this morning, but agreed with DH to do it tomorrow morning and put us out of our misery. He asked me how I am feeling and I said not pregnant at all. If anything I was the opposite of tired this morning, boobs are not really sore anymore. I use the gel in the morning so every morning before I use it I feel completely normal, then I out the gel in and the bloat comes, moodyness and sore bbs. So it is clearly the gel causing them. Zero cramps that is my biggest worry as if there was an embryo growing and expanding I would have cramps, at least some little ones.
So I am now completely convinced and sure it didn't work, so planning to try naturally over March and April, then get the frostie on board in my May period! :)
When I got home yesterday the table was set with candles and a massive bunch of red roses, music playing in the background. Hubby asked for my coat and led me to the table. He cooked a 3 course meal for the 10year anniversary of our first date as he knew the last thing I want is to go out with the bloated belly. I cried, was so touched I was so happy and grateful for him. It doesn't matter what the test will show tomorrow as either way I feel lucky already to have him as my family. :)
