I have a question. How are there so many bfps recently on this thread? I thought statistically there would be mostly bfns. I think my clinic said I have a 30-40% chance of a bfp and I assumed that was a general, not specific to me.

Stace999 · 10/02/2020 13:33

@Lily999 due to the stage of my embryos and the fact that none of the others made it I've resigned myself to a BFN. However there is obviously a part of me that is desperately hoping. It's the hardest part of this process in my opinion as there really is nothing we can do but wait.
I wouldn't read much in to Google answers, IVF and the medications that go with it throw your body off kilter. The progesterone even if it is a gel will be having an effect on your body aswell. I am just trying to keep busy and take my mind off it but it's more difficult the closer the day gets x

DobbieFreeElf · 10/02/2020 13:58

@seven201 because being on this thread is a lucky charm (hopefully!) 😬

notReginaPhalange · 10/02/2020 15:14

@seven201 I was wondering the same. Gives me hope though.

rainbow178 · 10/02/2020 16:12

We have paid for our cycle and didn't even get a pregnancy test included!! Rude! I don't want to test early because either a bfn or bfp can be inaccurate I've heard so I wouldn't be satisfied and it wouldn't put me out my misery so I just going to wait till Friday. It is killing me though!!!

seven201 · 10/02/2020 16:46

@dobbiefreeelf that's good enough for me!

duckling3 · 10/02/2020 18:20

Im loving all the positive news on here.
Congratulations to those who got good news today

Viletta · 10/02/2020 18:54

@seven201 I think it's simply because not all women that undergo IVF are in this thread. I was on threads that had very few bfp-s before. There is a funny theory that pregnancy develops better when the spring is around the corner, our bodies wake up from winter. Maybe this is why?

duckling3 · 10/02/2020 18:59

I got a letter from our clinic today, giving us the details of our embryo qualities. I purposely didn't ask cause I thought knowing would stress me out if they were bad.

We did half icsi and half ivf .. I knew we got more embryos doing icsi than ivf but interestingly the quality of the icsi ones were better too.. kind of the opposite to how I thought it would be, but maybe helps explain why we had no luck the traditional way.

Minster2012 · 10/02/2020 19:00

Surely it’s better to be on a positive thread!! It’s lovely!
I’ve had a day of stabbing pains today, on my right side, to the point of it stopping me in my tracks, kind of going “oooooo” and half doubling over 🤔I’m hoping hoping hoping it’s nestling in pains 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Minster2012 · 10/02/2020 19:05

@tryin4no2 this is the TWW thread if you want to join us xx

seven201 · 10/02/2020 19:09

@Viletta ooh I didn't know that about pregnancy and spring! @Minster2012 yes it is lovely. I just wasn't sure if it was normal for these threads. Seems like we're on a lucky one!

I'm 5dp5dt and have the pre period crappy feeling. But I guess that's just the progesterone or something and not actually my period on its way.

@duckling3 we did an ivf icsi split too. Had better fertility rates with the icsi and the quality was similar. So good to know in case we need a future round to just do straight icsi. We only had the split as our clinic said DH's sperm shape was borderline, otherwise fine. But on the day everything was looking good sperm wise but since we'd already paid for the split we did it anyway and glad we did now.

seven201 · 10/02/2020 19:11
  • pre period crampy feeling, not crappy!

@Minster2012 that does sound like yours could be nestling in pains!

Viletta · 10/02/2020 19:15

@seven201 it's not really scientific but I heard this personal opinion from a gyn-obs:) I also remember working in a clinic where I noticed that some months had very few people being born and other very many even people born same day. Weird...

cramps are definitely normal. Good luck and let this thread be full of bfp!

seven201 · 10/02/2020 21:57

What is 'normal' bleeding during the ivf tww? I've just been to the loo and wiped and there was quite a bit of blood, like start of a period, not just spotting. Does this mean I'm out? It's only 5 days since my transfer. I know spotting is expected, but this was more.

Stace999 · 10/02/2020 22:16

@seven201 I wouldnt necessarily say you are out, especially as you are bleeding this early. When I bled just after a bfp the clinic said not to be alarmed unless it fills a sanitary pad within a few hours. We are conditioned to think bleeding is bad but a lot of people bleed during pregnancy for a variety of reasons. As with everything in the TWW it's just a case of riding it out until otd unfortunately. Fingers crossed for you

Minster2012 · 11/02/2020 07:36

@seven201 I would have thought at 5days i wouldn’t worry too much I’d take it as more of a good thing than anything xxx

seven201 · 11/02/2020 07:44

@Stace999 and @Minster2012 I think my period is well and truly here Sad. I've called in sick to work and am going to ring the clinic to see what they say. I was mentally prepared for a bfn, but not for my period to arrive 5/6 days after transfer.

Viletta · 11/02/2020 08:11

@seven201 sorry to hear that:( when would your period be normally due? Take care of yourself today.

DobbieFreeElf · 11/02/2020 08:15

Oh no @seven201 that’s shit ☹️ I did read on that “day by day” thing that “some people experience bleeding”

I honestly feel like my period is coming. It doesn’t help that I constantly feel (TMI) the pessary gunk sliding out of me and think that it’s me bleeding.

Have you had the pessaries?

seven201 · 11/02/2020 08:25

Thanks both. I'm 99.9% sure it's my period, not just bleeding. Waiting to hear back from the clinic.

Have been doing pessaries three times a day and my luteal phase is usually 13 days ish, so it's early even for a normal period. Angry

Lily999 · 11/02/2020 08:33

Good morning, sorry to hear this @seven201 it does sound very strange as far as I know luteal phase shouldn't change even with the IVF meds...
Very curious to see what the clinic comes back with. 3pessaries a day does sound sufficient as my first thought was maybe your progesterone level dropped.

I am 8dp5dt, feeling completely normal, no cramps, nothing to report. Have been a superhero for not testing, it is very trying though as I have a sensitive test, think I am just not ready to find out the news.

Booked two trips last night for March to make us feel better if it's a BFN, one is to have a city break in Brussels where we have friends living and another one to Athens for 5days, very much looking forward to both! At least we have something even if it's not a baby.

Also called the clinic yesterday and asked in case it's a BFN what will happen next as we have a good quality frozen Bambino and they said we can transfer that after I had two cycles, so beginning of May. Feels good to have a plan B, hopefully we won't need to put it in motion. :)

DobbieFreeElf · 11/02/2020 08:47

@lily999 I’m on 3 pessaries a day (200mg Utrogestan) too

I’m jealous of your trips, I’ve done completely the opposite and refused to plan anything until after we find out how this round has gone!

JessTTC · 11/02/2020 08:57

Morning ladies,
This is my first post but I’ve been following the thread closely the last week or so. I’m hoping some of your good lick can rub off on me because I feel like I’m going completely mad.
This is our first round of ICSI and I’m currently 7dp5dt of a ‘near perfect’ embryo (apparently). I stupidly caved and started testing at 4dpt and have been getting BFNs each day and feeling utterly rubbish. When we do our next cycle, I’m not putting myself through the early testing again! Anyway, I have pretty much given up after my stark white results at 6dpt but I did test again this morning with an internet cheapie and a FRER. The FRER was negative but I could almost see something on the strip? Is this possible? It’s so faint that I’ve now read about indentation lines and after allowing myself to get a little excited, I’m sensing that crushing disappointment again. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I can’t tell DH as he’s so worried about me as it is and made me promise to stop testing 😬

notReginaPhalange · 11/02/2020 09:04

wow how come so many people are on 3 pessaries a day? I have been only prescribed 2 pessaries a day Cyclogest 400 mg.
I guess because the dose is higher?
