First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

@Lily999 I’m OK thanks. I have a date to start round 2 which is keeping me going. The originally said I could re start on Monday gone which was only 2 weeks post EC but it just didn’t feel right to me. When I called up to query the nurse said she basically hadn’t appreciated that I’d literally not long had EC so put it back a month. I was quite happy to get going again but not if my body wasn’t back to norm and I’d risk another attempt failing. 4 weeks to go and I’ll be back on the buserelin.. the joys. We’re literally telling nobody this time.

Thanks for your advice on Q10. Consultant didn’t say why so I’m going to go with what you guys have done. There’s clearly been some BFPs as I’ve been spying on the TWW group :)

huffleclaw · 04/02/2020 19:49

@Lily999 I have a planning appointment on the 17th to work our next steps and timescales. The appointment could've been a bit earlier but I decided to wait until half term so I don't have to miss more school when I don't have to. Enjoying the two weeks of no tests, no injections and no waiting.

Have massively crashed today though! I am exhausted! Think all of the emotions, waiting and tension is over for a bit I have collapsed a bit!

@Nmvasey glad that you have date for round two. I think it's a good idea to wait for a while so your body has time to recover.

Lily999 · 05/02/2020 11:30

Hi @huffleclaw it's good to see you have a schedule put in place and I imagine it always feels good if you are the one postponing and not them :)
Not much to report here, 2days after transfer and to be honest it does feel like any other 2ww so far. Went to acupuncture yesterday ad nwas told that until 5-7 days post transfer impantation will not occur meaning there is in fact an embryo in there, but it is not attached, so I shouldn't feel anything different. Or if I do that is due to the progesterone.
So, we'll see what happens after the wekend :)

I had a follow up consultation following the Freeze and good and bad news I can start estrogen patches (tablets cause a raging bloat due to lactose coating) go in between 8-10 days and they will monitor until ovulation and then transfer...bad news my period decides to show up when I get home and no estrogen patches are available

seven201 · 05/02/2020 19:17

Hello all. I did join this group earlier and then went quiet - I decided I needed a break from ivf chatboards for a little bit. Please can I re-join?

It's my first round. We had 11 eggs collected on Friday and an icsi /ivf split. 2 made it to blastocyst and I had one transferred today.

I'm having a worry... the doctor said she likes to use a soft catheter (nicer for patient) but warned that if that doesn't work she'd need to swap to the firmer one. So I'm pretty sure the embryo was in the catheter while she was fiddling about unsuccessfully and then changed to the other catheter. it did get taken back to the embryo machine thing while they changed catheter. I'm just worried it wasn't in good conditions for quite a while. Do you think it's a problem or am I just being a bit crazy? I nearly told her to just use the firmer one from the start, but I didn't want to be annoying.

Also, I keep reading conflicting stuff about resting or moving about on transfer day. I've mostly been lying down but now worried I've done the wrong thing. Agh.

seven201 · 05/02/2020 19:23

@Sabz36 oh no. Do you need to start them from day one of your period then? So annoying. Does that mean you have to wait a whole cycle to start them?

seven201 · 05/02/2020 19:31

Oh sorry, another question. Should I be stopping the many supplements I take (I went ott after reading it starts with the egg) now or leaving it a week or so then stop? Some are for uterine lining so maybe they should be continued for a while. I'm annoying myself so much with all the overthinking!

Sabz36 · 05/02/2020 20:06

@seven201 I'm not sure I remember when I started last time they said unless it's a full AF before noon then it's not counted as a full day. This wiping pink maybe AF started after 5. I have some tablets which I can take but I can't remember the dose. I called and left a message will call again in the morning (I have zero patience) and just go with the tablets and accept the bloating that's comes with it

seven201 · 05/02/2020 20:28

@Sabz36 my clinic say after 2/3pm you should count it from the next day. Maybe take what you have with you to work so you've got it if needed.

Minster2012 · 05/02/2020 22:22

@Lily999 I thought implantation happens a couple to 3 days after 5 day embryo transfer? Hope all is good still, I often think no news is good news!

@seven201 so you’ve had one put back? I’m sure they will have done the best for that embryo so I wouldn’t worry about the hard or soft catheter affecting the embryo
In terms of moving or lying still out clinic says no bed rest necessary you can continue to move around and do normal stuff which is better than lying around but no heavy lifting and twisting definitely

Minster2012 · 05/02/2020 22:23

@seven201 I can’t help on the supplements I’m only taking folic acid and a multivitamin

seven201 · 06/02/2020 07:03

Thank you @Minster2012. The embryo did get transferred, just went back in the incubator (?) thingy while the doctor faffed around for even longer. I've calmed down about it now. Just had a crazy moment of worry.

I'm going to stop most of the supplements apart from folic acid and vit d.

Lily999 · 06/02/2020 10:33

Hi @Minster2012 what is the latest with you and how is the lining doing?
@Sabz36 did you manage to call them today?

@seven201 I had the same issue actually. We started transfer and the doctor put in the catheter, the embryologist brought the embryo in the room then the doctor started to struggle with the catheter as she couldn't place it as she was supposed to. The embryologist asked if he should put it back in the dish and the doctor said hang on... but then for a (seemingly) very long time nothing happened she was just trying to make it happen. Then the embryologist asked again should I put this embryo back in the dish? And we all heard his voice was very annoyed, so the doctor said yes please. So he took it back and then the doctor shouted ok bring it so he brought it back and she did the transfer. I can imagine how frustrated you were as I was as well. Me and hubby were just looking at each other thinking no way this is normal and it can't be good for the embryo.
So must admit I have my worries about this, unfortunately there is nothing we can do at this point only wait. I am 3dp5dt today, so we will find out at the end of next week if it was an issue or not I guess?

jcurve · 06/02/2020 11:40

So exciting to hear of all these lovely embryos on board! Fingers crossed they turn into BFPs!

We had our follow up appointment. Consultant seems slightly perplexed by the outcome, albeit happy with the quality of the frozen embryo. He wants us to have another round of ICSI and preferably a fresh transfer before I have surgery.

I’ve pencilled it in for a late March start - has anyone else done two rounds of IVF quite close together?

Minster2012 · 06/02/2020 11:41

@Lily999 I’m going due my transfer tomorrow, I don’t know how my lining is, it was 6.8mm last week but they haven’t scanned me again so it’s just 🤞🏻🤞🏻Really

lilybelle123 · 06/02/2020 11:43

Hi ladies, we're newbies, and have our egg collection tomorrow first thing....so did the trigger shots last night. Had to do two- ovitrelle and buserelin....I don't know why we did both? did any of you do both or know why they said to do both?

Is it normal to feel absolutely awful after the trigger shots? I feel terrible today- nautious, bad pains/cramps, headache + crying for no reason on my drive to work. The other shots weren't great, but I feel crappy and was wondering if that's normal?

seven201 · 06/02/2020 12:07

@Lily999 oh I'm sorry you had that too. It's so bloody annoying isn't it. I just spoke to my embryologist and she was very reassuring. She says the little dish they stand there holding it in is warm, so try not to worry too much.

@Minster2012 the last lining measurement they did for me was 7mm on weds and yesterday when they did the transfer and she said my lining was looking nice and juicy. She didn't measure it though.

seven201 · 06/02/2020 12:09

@lilybelle123 sorry I only had the burselin and felt ok. It's probably normal but if you're worried just call the nursing team and ask, they're used to many questions I'm sure. Good luck tomorrow!

Lily999 · 06/02/2020 12:30

Thank you @seven201 for double checking, it is nerve wrecking isn't it? I see you were on this thread before, I am going to tag you on the 2WW one where we can all annoy each other with insane symptom spotting and the silliest questions of all.

@Minster2012 hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow and you won't experience stuff like I did.

@lilybelle123 I had only one Orvitrelle, it did give me strong PMS symptoms, unfortunately due to the added progesterone these will not go away for a while, but hopefully it will all be worth it at the end!

So one EC and one ET tomorrow, busy day! Fingers crossed for both of you :)

lilybelle123 · 06/02/2020 12:50

@seven201 Thanks so much :-) And thanks for the info - I'm not sure why they said take both..... I'm hoping that it doesn't mean we have to wait for a frozen transfer - I was hoping we'd get to do fresh next week... but I suppose whatever they decide.

@Lily999 All the things they don't tell you about when you begin this journey! I thought the discomfort/ PMS symptoms would go away after egg collection!

Good luck with the transfer tomorrow ;-)

Minster2012 · 06/02/2020 14:55

@Lily999 & @seven201 that’s rubbish about the embryo transfer but I’d the embryologist was happy after & anyway the embryo is where it should be now & hopefully getting snug 🤞🏻🤞🏻
That’s also reassuring about your lining thank you @seven201

I’ve just had my call about my progesterone levels, my clinic wanted it to be over 20. Mins was 59! I thought not a lot of stuff was showing on the pantyliners 😂😂turns out my body is eating it! Explains why I’m still waking up early so much 😫

justkeeprunning5 · 06/02/2020 18:35

@Minster2012 wishing you all the best for transfer tomorrow.

Had my scan today and lining is looking good. Another week of burseralin and then replace that with progesterone, transfer the week after. Nice to finally have a date!

Did anyone take much time off work post transfer? I’m thinking of taking a few day’s to relax but I’m afraid that I will drive myself mad and be better off being busy at work!

@justkeeprunning5 thank you very much!! Just having a lovely hot bath & relaxing read 🥰it’s great you d got positive news & a date that’s fab to focus on!

I think it depends what you do really

Stace999 · 06/02/2020 23:43

@Lily999 I got told off by the embryologist for using the term word 'rubbish' so prob shouldn't have said that! It's hard to remember as it's a bit of a blur. They are blastocyst but a stage 1 and 2 so basically the lowest gradings, they hadn't formed the middle bit yet that becomes the actual embryo if that makes sense? She obviously didn't say 'middle bit' but I can't remember the technical term! She said they hadn't got to the stage where they grade the cells yet.. So no letter, I think that's right. The putting 2 back was a bit of a battle because I haven't had ivf at that clinic before so she doesn't know what is typical of my embryos also I'm 36 so technically not in the age category for 2 embryos. They did eventually agree after we signed to accept the risk of multiples!
