Hello, starting a new thread for those of us starting a new cycle after the holidays.

My background: one successful round of ivf a few years back resulted in my lovely DS and now trying for a second. We are about to go for round 3, following 1 bfn and 1 mc.

At the moment I am waiting for af to appear. Seem to be about to ovulate according to opk. So guessing should expect af in about 2 weeks time.

Going for natural FET with progesterone support. The question for me is whether to add steroids too. A little scared of long terms risks so we will see...

@Russkispy @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted @Christabelle89
I remember from previous threads you were doing, or thinking of doing another round in Jan?

Everybody welcome to join, wherever you are on your journey. It's a tough business, keeping company helps. Good luck!

Good luck @Russkispy everything crossed for you!

Menopur is making me feel like crap. On and off nausea, dizziness, dreadful mood swings, tiredness and fits of anger... I’m also very shaky. I don’t remember having these side effects last time :( anyone else experienced this?

Hatawa83 · 12/02/2020 07:38

So sorry to hear that @Ging78
Personally, I always had a positive on day 8 but that being said, every person is different and it’s still early so worth testing again over the next 2 days as it all depends on when the embryo attached, if it did.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/02/2020 07:43

@Ging78
So sorry I would also say a FRER should have kicked something up by now especially with a hatching blast
Do you have any more embryos frozen? X

Ging78 · 12/02/2020 09:43

Thanks ladies.

I agree @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted. It's pretty conclusive. I took my injection and tablets this morning but really it's done.

We have 3 left. All hatching. The next one is also 5ab. I plan to try again as soon as i can so March. I'll catch up with you all in detail later!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/02/2020 09:53

@Ging78
Come over the March board when you are ready - I'll finally be doing my transfer sometime mid March x

sometimesalways · 12/02/2020 13:18

Oh I am sorry to hear that @Ging78 I'd say that while I would be also naturally disappointed and preparing for definitive bfp later with this result, it really isn't over till Otd. Please remind me, would you be testing at 12dpt officially?

OP posts:
Ging78 · 12/02/2020 13:28

@sometimesalways 12 days will be Saturday. I'll test again Friday. I'm flying to my parents on Friday so would have needed to pack injections and medication if it was positive. I'm pretty sure it's conclusive though! Ivf can be such a cruel thing!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/02/2020 14:58

Still waiting for my day 5 update getting a bit stressed out now!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/02/2020 15:09

Finally they rang!
So they've frozen a 4aa today (which chuffed about as never had an aa before)
And there is one which is a bit slower that they'll let me know tomorrow.
Really wanted to get 2 frozen from this cycle so trying to be positive
Anyone else had slower ones that didn't make it to blast until day 6?

C88M · 12/02/2020 18:19

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I’ve got 2 5aa and one 6aa blast in the freezer so it’s possible

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/02/2020 18:59

@C88M
Thanks! Were they frozen on day 6? X

C88M · 12/02/2020 19:11

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Yep it was frozen on day 6. I had two going at day 6 and one made it to freezing.

Hufflepuff1 · 12/02/2020 22:42

Congratulations @KE2017 amazing to hear x

So sorry @Ging78 hope you are being kind to yourself

Hope everyone else is doing well, sorry I missed a few days and now getting confused with all the catch up.

BettySwoll0cks · 13/02/2020 10:54

Hi everyone, nice to see some familiar faces on this board!! A big hug to @sometimesalways @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted @Russkispy @mincedpea @Marmite83 and others - I hope this is a good cycle for you!

I'm now 7dp5dt on a short medicated FET cycle. Have been feeling properly ropey, headaches, knackered, some spotting on 5 & 6dpt but tested this morning with FRER and it's a bfn. OTD for my clinic is 11dpt but still, I was really hoping to see something today. I had a big old cry over that. 3 years of bad news (2 mmc's and 2 chemicals) and I'm struggling to "stay positive" (in fact, I'd quite like to punch the next person who says that to me in the face. Too much?)

xx

sometimesalways · 13/02/2020 11:19

Hi @BettySwoll0cks oh no I am so sorry! I would suggest to wait a bit and retest to be certain but I absolutely get why you are feeling less than positive... hugs to you! It's so tough! We are here for you, please do feel free to come and vent here as much as you like!
Will you try again you think? Do you have any more embies in the freezer?

I got a call about my cyst and apparently it's nothing to worry about so full speed ahead. Just got my (few) meds today from Asda... first scan to track ovulation booked for Monday eek

OP posts:
sometimesalways · 13/02/2020 11:23

Ps @BettySwoll0cks I don't suppose the spotting could be late implantation? Can't remember now what's the implantation window actually for blasts

OP posts:
Hufflepuff1 · 13/02/2020 13:00

@BettySwoll0cks sorry to read that and totally hear you on the punching thing, I was ready to punch my dh last night all because he said he was tired. These drugs are awful on your body and it's hard to remain positive so we all understand and are here for you x I'm also doing a fet cycle and struggling to remain positive.

@sometimesalways nice to hear things are moving along for you now, really hope this is your time and it all goes well. I wouldn't worry about the cyst either, I have always had them due to pcos and they come and go and don't interfere with the process hence why they are happy to proceed.

As for me I had my stimulation scan on Tuesday to check my lining, it was ok so we are going to transfer next Friday 21st. Start lubion injections on Sunday. I did think that transfer would be sooner actually, a week and half seems long to wait and in my diary it says transfer is 6 days after the scan so I had early next week in my head. Of course due to this change I've now decided I'm doomed. Makes sense right.

Anyone else transferring soon?

BettySwoll0cks · 13/02/2020 13:00

Hi @sometimesalways, it'd be wishful thinking that it's implantation bleeding I reckon. I've had a bit more spotting today, 7dpt so I reckon it's AF trying to break through. I know better than to hold out false hope! x

Hufflepuff1 · 13/02/2020 13:03

@BettySwoll0cks forgot to say I'm not sure if you have tested early actually. There's conflicting stories that suggest implantation spotting occurs. In some people it shows implantation along with the cramps and other feelings you are having. I would give it a few more days at least as it may have been late implantation 🤞🤞 also was ur embryo hatching and in tact at the time of transfer?

Baby dust to all 💜

Hufflepuff1 · 13/02/2020 13:05

@BettySwoll0cks sorry I think we posted at the same time so I didn't see your last post. Hugs 💜

sometimesalways · 13/02/2020 13:36

@Hufflepuff1 I think our transfer dates will be quite close, I think mine might be 24th if all goes to plan. Let's see, good news that you have a date booked! Are you taking it off work, doing any acupuncture?

OP posts:
lilybelle123 · 13/02/2020 14:19

Hello ladies - jumping on here as we've just had our embryos transferred yesterday eeeek! do most people opt for one or two embryos to transfer?

Hufflepuff1 · 13/02/2020 14:21

@sometimesalways I don't work at the moment I got made redundant so I don't need to worry about that luckily. Although I am looking for a new job at the moment but I only have to fit in potential interviews etc.
Yes I'm doing acupuncture, figure it can't do any harm and have read it can help aid the whole process 🤞
I'm starting to get awfully nervous I'm not sure I can handle more rejection. It doesn't help when you have time in your hands.

Hufflepuff1 · 13/02/2020 14:23

@lilybelle123 hello, I think it depends on a number of things, ie quality, your age and the individual clinics policy. Mine won't transfer more than one unless the quality is bad they have already stated that from the beginning. Good luck on the torture that is the 2ww 🤞💜

lilybelle123 · 13/02/2020 15:07

@Hufflepuff1 Thanks :-) I think I must be considered ancient, hence 2 at once..... the 2ww is so long already..... only 11 days to go and counting lol

Does anyone else live far away from their clinic? Our clinic was Dublin but we live out west..... the clinic said we could get the 12dp5dt pregnancy blood test done here instead of driving so far for it, if we cold find a place that does same day results.

I tried the local fertility clinic (who don't have the best reputation) and they refused as we hadn't done our treatment with them. which I thought was a bit rude. They were more than happy to take our money for preliminary tests through the GP, but I digress.

Does anyone have the same problem or is anyone having the blood test at somewhere other than their IVf clinic?
