Hello, starting a new thread for those of us starting a new cycle after the holidays.

My background: one successful round of ivf a few years back resulted in my lovely DS and now trying for a second. We are about to go for round 3, following 1 bfn and 1 mc.

At the moment I am waiting for af to appear. Seem to be about to ovulate according to opk. So guessing should expect af in about 2 weeks time.

Going for natural FET with progesterone support. The question for me is whether to add steroids too. A little scared of long terms risks so we will see...

@Russkispy @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted @Christabelle89
I remember from previous threads you were doing, or thinking of doing another round in Jan?

Everybody welcome to join, wherever you are on your journey. It's a tough business, keeping company helps. Good luck!

@KE2017 congratulations! Good luck for today!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted hope you get update soon enough! Fingers crossed for update!

@sometimesalways how are you doing? And @Ging78

Ging78 · 10/02/2020 08:46

Good luck today @KE2017!

@russkipsy what stage are you at now?

@sometimesalways. I had a little bit of spotting on day 3 and a little bit more a few days later. Trying not to read too much into it!

Am really struggling with the 2ww. It's just torture, acting like you're pregnant but not knowing if you are. I had to work Saturday which was bad timing. We do a few Saturdays in the year.

I hope you're all doing well.

mincedpea · 10/02/2020 08:47

@KE2017 Massive luck for today! The HPT you did certainly looked positive, but understand your caution. Will be sending positive thoughts your way for the official test. Sorry you've been feeling blue, IVF and all the waiting can be utterly awful at times. Hope you have a better day today. By the way, I'd also be furious at MIL for saying that!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Those numbers sound really good! I hope the slow one catches up and you get a positive update today. Today is day 3 post collection right?

@Ging78 I'm sure I've heard spotting is a good sign. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the thoughts on the harmony test. I did a bit more research and I will ask the midwife more about it tomorrow. I don't know if I get any NHS screening because I'm already over 35, or whether it's just the anomaly scan as standard, so I'll ask and see.

Russkispy · 10/02/2020 09:41

@Ging78 I'm on cd8, injecting last Bemfola tomorrow morning, then a scan with my doc and hopefully the lining will look good and ready either to trigger or go natural before FET. Going through DE. Our next embryo is 5AB and PGS tested.

Hatawa83 · 10/02/2020 09:56

Hi ladies,
Just starting an ICSI round so would love to join you all in here :)
On day 3 menopur and bricking it as this is very much our last and final attempt to give our little girl a sibling after multiple miscarriages. Really trying to stay positive but I’m pretty scared as the last MC was very traumatic and I don’t think I could deal with that again. I’m finding it so hard to feel confident and calm. Maybe I need reflexology or something to relax me!

sometimesalways · 10/02/2020 10:20

Morning everyone! Af showed up so I booked my baseline scan for tomorrow and here we go... expecting transfer on/around the 25th Feb if my cycle is a typical one...

@Hatawa83 welcome! I too had a mc last cycle and slightly terrified of going through this again. I feel I don't have many more tries in me so this cycle might be the last for us too... let's see... Good luck to you! Are you doing medicated long protocol?

OP posts:
Hatawa83 · 10/02/2020 10:38

Thank you sometimesalways :) I’m not sure. It’s all happening in one cycle and no stopping of cycle so I don’t think that’s the long one (bit out of touch with all this..been a few years!). Just started meds on first day of full flow. Are you doing a full round or FET?

sometimesalways · 10/02/2020 11:19

It's FET for me, and we are doing natural cycle so no meds for me till about transfer and then I only take progesterone and blood thinners, and prob steroids too.
So we will be doing scans to track ovulation I order to time the transfer.

What are the next steps for you?

sometimesalways · 10/02/2020 11:21

Forgot to tag you @Hatawa83 sorry!

Parkandride · 10/02/2020 11:50

Hi everyone
I've been on the Jan thread but just realised it's February so popping over here.
Today is FET day for me later this afternoon, my first transfer and a PGD/PGS normal embryo. Excited!
Anyone else transferring today?

sometimesalways · 10/02/2020 13:10

Ooh good luck @Parkandride 🤞 and welcome

OP posts:
Hatawa83 · 10/02/2020 13:35

@sometimesalways oh good luck! Natural FETs are so much easier physically. Fingers crossed!

I’m seeing my consultant this evening but I imagine I’ll stay on injections until my eggs are ready for collection and see where we go from there!

@parkandride exciting! Crossing my fingers for you :)

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 10/02/2020 14:15

@parkandride

Good luck for today 🤞🤞

Day 3 update for me we have the following still in the running

1 x 7 cell grade 1-2
2 x 8 cell grade 2
2 which are struggling and are grade 4

Feeling a little deflated as no real definite grade 1s - going to be a long wait until Wednesday day 5 update 😬

Hatawa83 · 10/02/2020 14:43

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Don’t give up hope! Lots can happen in 2 days. We had similar on our last round and by day 5 several had significantly developed and become grade A blasts. The wait is torturous though!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 10/02/2020 15:19

@Hatawa83
Thanks! I was madly googling whether grade 2 embryos can still make an AA blastocyst

I've had grade 2 before that turned into 3ABs so just go to hope get similar result this time

It would be nice to get all 3 frozen and then we ll have 5 going into our final egg collection

KE2017 · 10/02/2020 18:36

Thank you for the luck. Had our appointment. It was a bfp so now waiting for the 7 week scan.

Good luck for tomorrow @Russkispy.

Welcome @Hatawa83 & @Parkandride

🤞🏼 for you @sometimesalways

Hope you appointment went well @Hatawa83

That's still a good number @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted as others have said a lot can happen in 2 days.

FYI for anyone else that's self funded Asda pharmacies seem to be the best price I've found to get meds from.

Hatawa83 · 10/02/2020 18:59

@KE2017 congrats!!! Crossing everything for you in the next weeks.

Was a very early scan so not much to report. Let’s see what Thursday’s scan shows!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Let’s hope those embies have a nice growth spurt! :)

Russkispy · 10/02/2020 19:56

@KE2017 thank you! glad it's confirmed and hopefully early scan goes well!

@Hatawa83 welcome to the group

@sometimesalways glad AF is here and we might still be cycle buddies. My last Bemfola tomorrow morning and scan straight after. Don't know what to expect from it as nothing goes according to the plan and had a few disappointments along the way.

@Parkandride welcome! Hope FET went well and congratulations on officially being PUPO. Hope tww is kind to you🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted hope the embies catch up by Wednesday 🤞🏻

Parkandride · 11/02/2020 09:54

Thanks everyone, I'm PUPO! So weird, I've spent my whole life trying not to get pregnant, PGD ivf is weird in that regard.

Really not sure when to test, would like to do it at the weekend so dpt6, but that seems early while the following weekend is ages!!

mincedpea · 11/02/2020 11:37

Congratulations @KE2017, fantastic news! Hope you're feeling ok today. Second you on ASDA pharmacy for meds, I get my progesterone from there and it's the cheapest I've found.

Welcome @Hatawa83 and @Parkandride! Good luck for this TWW parkandride, hope it goes swiftly and you end up with a BFP! Perhaps 6 days after transfer is a bit soon, although I have heard of people getting positives then. How long can you wait for? Good luck for your scan on Thursday too Hatawa.

@Russkispy It's going quickly for you now, good luck with the scan, hope your lining is just how they need it to be!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Those embies are still in the game and still growing, keeping my fingers crossed for you for Weds.

@sometimesalways Hurrah for AF appearing, let the countdown commence to transfer day!

Just had my booking in appointment, a record-breaking 36 minutes (we skipped a fair bit as we are moving house soon and out of area). Found out that we get the non-invasive trisomy screening blood test at our 12 week scan so I've agreed to that. I think that's basically the same as the harmony test (apart from the baby's sex info), so probably won't do the former now unless I am desperate for a scan. Also officially discharged from the IVF clinic, feels very weird.

Hatawa83 · 11/02/2020 12:49

Thank you @mincedpea :) will update as things progress

@Parkandride was it a 5 day blasto you had transferred? If so I’d say wait until at least day 8 post transfer and use an early detection test. I always had a definitive response from those on day 8

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 11/02/2020 13:04

@parkandride
I've always been a bit naughty and tested really early - the cycle I had my ectopic I had a super squinted 4dp5dt in the morning which was much clearer by the evening (using frer)

I'm not sure I'd test again that early though as a couple of times I've had a faint lime 4dp5dt and it's been negative the next day

Next month I'm going to try and hold out until at least 5dp5dt x

Russkispy · 11/02/2020 14:05

There’s never straight forward with any scans! I’m so glad I stayed here to be seen by my doc! She saw some sort of a tiny knot on the scan and couldn’t work out whether it would hinder transfer! So I had a hysteroscopy! And it turns out it was just in a muscle! Whatever the hell that means! Suffice to say my lining is beautiful according to my doc at 10mm and I’m triggering on Friday night and transfer is next Friday morning. Flights are booked now 😁 let’s just hope and pray hard it will be my last trip home for those reasons!! God I could do with a break! 😔

sometimesalways · 11/02/2020 23:26

Good news that your all booked @Russkispy what a roller coaster. So in the end what was it? If they didn't seem bothered after hysteroscopy then don't worry about it! 🤞🤞 I hope this is indeed the last trip you will need for these reasons..

I had my baseline scan today and had a similar thing funnily enough. They say a tiny cyst. They didn't seem worried it might hinder anything (although what is that?? Never had it before) but they took some blood to test and ensure it is not interfering with the hormones. Otherwise we should be good to go. Let's see.. we will find out tomorrow.

Ging78 · 12/02/2020 07:04

Hi ladies. I'll catch up with what's going on with you and message you all later. But for now i tested a bfn on a first response test 8dp5dt of a hatching embryo. It's very unlikely to change within the next few days isn't it?
