Hello, starting a new thread for those of us starting a new cycle after the holidays.

My background: one successful round of ivf a few years back resulted in my lovely DS and now trying for a second. We are about to go for round 3, following 1 bfn and 1 mc.

At the moment I am waiting for af to appear. Seem to be about to ovulate according to opk. So guessing should expect af in about 2 weeks time.

Going for natural FET with progesterone support. The question for me is whether to add steroids too. A little scared of long terms risks so we will see...

@Russkispy @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted @Christabelle89
I remember from previous threads you were doing, or thinking of doing another round in Jan?

Everybody welcome to join, wherever you are on your journey. It's a tough business, keeping company helps. Good luck!

That sounds like an idea @sometimesalways I wouldn't know where to go though or how that would work though. Where did you get your blood done from last time?

Hufflepuff1 · 02/03/2020 18:19

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted hope the time comes around quickly for you x

sometimesalways · 02/03/2020 18:49

@Hufflepuff1 I actually did it at the private clinic I am currently at (wasn't with them at the time). But I'd think you could ring any private hospital (fertility or otherwise. Like Bupa?) or fertility clinic and ask if they can do one for you? It would prob cost £100 or so, which I realise is not cheap

@sometimesalways here’s the TWW one
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3832813-TWW-Feb-March

There is another but I think more for those starting or mid process www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3772490-ivf-in-feb-march-2020

Yeah I’ll stick here too until my final hour @Russkispy though things look good for you! If you have a local Spire clinic they might be able to do private bloods.

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Fingers crossed things move quickly for you. All the waiting is so tough.

I’m still spotting though brown and very light. Still taking it as an indicator things aren’t going to end well but my 3yo just came down with Scarlet fever so I won’t have much time to mope or dwell on it. Will keep you updated x

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 02/03/2020 21:34

I've had bloods done privately as there is a private maternity place near me and it was £50 per test

sometimesalways · 03/03/2020 07:54

Oh no @Hatawa83 sorry your lo is unwell! That does take your mind off things for sure. DS was ill during my last cycle and I didn't have any time to think about anything, although I'd think spotting is good! I hope your DC is much better soon... thanks for the links, will check them out

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Really sorry to hear your cycle has been postponed. Hope the waiting isn't too long for next time around. It's such a slog, but hope you're doing ok.

@Hufflepuff1 Tentative congratulations, that's really brilliant news! I had a blood test done by my clinic but they actually just sent me to a private blood and testing lab, so you could get a blood test done privately at somewhere like that. It was a bit of a relief to have that hCG number. I got mine done at 16dp5dt.

@Hatawa83 Oh dear, scarlet fever, yikes, hope your 3yo gets better soon. I think spotting isn't always a bad thing, some people say it's implantation bleeding or something like that.
@sometimesalways I didn't have any symptoms at all apart from a few twinges just after transfer, like the ones you described, but I've scoured these boards enough to know that almost anything can be a positive sign! Fingers crossed for you both!

Welcome @Badgerismyname, good luck for the TWW!

sometimesalways · 04/03/2020 10:07

Ugh so now I have developed a tiny rash on the top of my hands and my GP thinks it is due to the progesterone I am taking. It's mild and not spreading so will try and bear it till OTD and take it from there, but if it spreads I will have to stop progesterone - or at least try taking it in a different form. As if I don't have enough to stress about.

@Russkispy how are your doing, is OTD tomorrow? 🤞🤞🤞 for you x

Anybody else testing this week?

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted any sign of af?

OP posts:
Hufflepuff1 · 04/03/2020 16:24

Funny you say that @sometimesalways I noticed a few days where I randomly came up in hives on my hand and arm but they went away quickly. This happened a few times and now it's gone and not happened since. I didn't think it could be from the progesterone, are you on injections? I'm taking lubion if that helps.

Hufflepuff1 · 04/03/2020 16:27

@Russkispy good luck for tomorrow my fellow buddy!! And sorry I didn't wait but obviously I'll still be testing tomorrow to make sure all is still ok. I've been over doing it this week because my husband has done his back in so I've got him to look after too. Hope it hasn't affected anything with embie.

@sometimesalways when do you test? X

sometimesalways · 04/03/2020 18:24

@Hufflepuff1 ha interesting. I hadn't heard of it before either, I just couldn't think what else it could be and the clinic said progesterone some times causes skin changes. Mine is constant but it fluctuates in intensity, sort of, gets more/less pronounced during the day. OTD is in a week! The 11th. Feels like a lifetime from now. I might test a day or two early.
I am on lubion too, as well as cyclogest. So I am prob getting a super dose.

@sometimesalways @Hufflepuff1
I booked HCG for today and wanted to test prior to that. I was 11dp5dt yesterday and it’s BFP! HCG came back at 1226! And progesterone is greater than 115.1! I’m not surprised about HCG levels as was feeling queasy on Sunday afternoon and Monday. Repeating HCG and progesterone on Friday. 🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 early scan booked in 3 weeks or so. It's very early days of course and I'm taking one day at a time!

Jan/Feb IVF/ICSI/FET here we go...
sometimesalways · 04/03/2020 20:34

Oh my goodness @Russkispy that's amazing! Congratulations! This is such a super strong positive. It could even be twins Wink I am so happy for you

OP posts:
shazzz1xx · 04/03/2020 20:37

Congratulations... would definitely say that’s twins too .... did u have 2 transferred ?

Hufflepuff1 · 04/03/2020 21:04

@Russkispy congratulations!!! That's absolutely amazing, loving the pic and results! 💜💜

Russkispy · 04/03/2020 21:11

@sometimesalways @shazzz1xx @Hufflepuff1 Thank you! transferred only 1, 5AB and PGS tested. Twins? I take anything right now! But not another MC! Please , the universe, be kind to me! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 04/03/2020 21:12

@Russkispy
Great news massive congratulations! Xx

Russkispy · 04/03/2020 21:16

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted thank you. How are you doing?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 05/03/2020 07:40

@Russkispy
Just waiting really for next cycle to start - I'm debating not bothering taking any more ubquinol as I read that can causes delay to ovulation so maybe it had an effect this month who knows!

mincedpea · 05/03/2020 16:59

Congratulations @Russkispy, fantastic news and fantastic numbers!

Mctm123 · 05/03/2020 17:28

Hi everyone sorry to jump on this thread but quick question for those taking aspirin during ivf (a FET in my case) have you took it from transfer or from a bfp? I’ve been advised to take it from transfer since I start to miscarry early but now I’m worried over it affecting implantation...I know there are so many different views on this and nothing has been proven!

Also dosage, two different consultants at my clinic have said different things. The one I am under has said 75mg but the other has suggested taking 150mg due to recent research! Thoughts?

C88M · 05/03/2020 17:56

Congratulations @Russkispy seems like a few positives very exciting.

I finished my noristerone Monday waiting for a bleed now I’m so impatient I just want to get going. My plan is only 5 days of oestrogen and progesterone so if I bleed soon I’ll be transferring next week!!

sometimesalways · 05/03/2020 19:21

@Mctm123 I don't take aspirin but do blood thinner injections which I think might be for the same thing/work in the same way. I started them 2 days before transfer - I had the same in both failed and successful cycles.

@C88M exciting! Back in my medicated cycles I think it took me about 3 days to bleed after stopping norethisterone

OP posts:
C88M · 05/03/2020 19:59

@sometimesalways it took me 5 days last time so hopefully by Saturday. I get headaches for that time though which is irritating!

BettySwoll0cks · 06/03/2020 10:32

Hi all, just hopping back on to catch up with some news. Congrats on the BFPs! @Russkispy @Hufflepuff1 I hope you're both feeling good Thanks

Quick meds question, I'm doing another FET next cycle one this mc has cleared through. I'm self-funding this time, how much are people paying for Fyremadel and Lubion? I've heard ASDA is the best price wise. TIA. x
