IVF in Feb/March 2020?

Hello! I'm just wondering whether there are others starting their IVF journey in Feb/March 2020.

I am dealing with secondary infertility (male factor) and we have been TTC#2 for 16 months. We conceived naturally by some miracle back in July, but sadly had an early miscarriage (my third in total). We're now waiting to start ICSI IVF in early February.

Would love to hear from others doing the same. x

Anyone else having ET today? I’m on my way now. Last chance saloon for us as only one made it to blasto stage but at least it’s an AA so fingers crossed. Good luck to anyone else having EC, ET or HPT’ing x

StartingAgain33 · 26/02/2020 10:39

Best of luck @hatawa83! AA sounds very hopeful xxx

Youngatheart00 · 26/02/2020 11:03

Good luck @Hatawa83 sending positive vibes!!

Youngatheart00 · 26/02/2020 11:04

I had my further scan this morning and they’ve told me to trigger tonight for EC Friday, so no cancellation. Not as many follicles as they’d like but at least a small ray of hope.

confused107 · 26/02/2020 11:19

Good luck @hatawa83. It all sounds very promising

Hatawa83 · 26/02/2020 11:35

Thank you ladies. All done so let the madness of the 9 day wait commence! @youngatheart00 exciting! Crossing everything for you on Friday x

granddesigns · 26/02/2020 14:18

Hi ladies, just checking in and catching up on all the different stories and stages of the journey. Bloods this morning to see if a handful of high dose vitamin D every day for a month has increased my levels enough to start our first cycle this weekend/Monday. Now awaiting results tomorrow and trying not to get hopes too high but just want to get started!

PineappleC · 26/02/2020 15:46

Hi all, I'm back from EC now, feel absolutely fine, and we got 10 eggs. 🤞🤞 for tomorrow's fertilisation news. If we get a good few fertilised then I think I might finally relax! Apparently I'm at risk of OHSS now (apparently my last bloods were marginally above the limit) so praying that I don't get any symptoms in the next few days, otherwise it could be a freeze all, and I'm impatient! 😅

@Hatawa83 great that you're all done too!! 🎉

Rumtopf · 26/02/2020 15:56

Hello everyone, I'm just joining in.
We've got our pre treatment appt on March 5th for our first ICSI round. I'm 40 and my AMH is quite low, we've been ttc on and off for 14 years and have had 8 miscarriages. This is the last ditch attempt as tbh we've not been in a position to afford it before, but with my age ever increasing it's now or never.
I have that feeling like when you're on a rollercoaster and it's slowly, slowly creeping up the first steep slope before it hangs you precipitously over the edge - fear and excitement all rolled into one.

SpyroC · 26/02/2020 17:53

Congratulations @Hatawa83 🤞🏻the 9 days doesn't drag too badly!

Well done @PineappleC. I hope tomorrow brings you good news. I naively assumed you could only get ohss if you had 15+ish eggs. 🙈 I thought it was one good thing about low AMH/afc.

That sounds hopeful @Youngatheart00 x

Youngatheart00 · 26/02/2020 17:55

@PineappleC great news on the egg collection, rest up tonight!

@Rumtopf 8 miscarriages, wow, my heart goes out to you. Sending very positive vibes to you for a successful treatment after all you have been through

Rumtopf · 26/02/2020 19:53

@pineapplec glad the EC went well, hope you're not feeling too out of sorts this evening.

@youngatheart100 thankyou. We've a 17yr old daughter as well which takes the edge off. It's been a lot but this seems like an entirely different stage. My fingers and toes are crossed!

takingthistooseriously · 26/02/2020 20:06

Hi everyone, please could I also join in on your thread? Like @Rumtopf I also have my first appointment on 5 March so just at the start of my journey.

I'm feeling pretty down and scared about the whole thing...this will be our first IVF cycle and we have just admitted to ourselves that we are unlikely to conceive naturally which has hit me much harder than I thought it would. I don't know anyone in real life who has gone through this journey so some MN support would be really welcome! I'm 34 and have low AMH.

I have just finished watching the videos the clinic sent through which seem designed to scare you off! So you all seem incredibly brave to me at the moment!

Sabz36 · 26/02/2020 20:09

@takingthistooseriously I think it is a rollercoaster you are about to embark on but the best ones are the ones which are the scariest.

This noticeboard has been the one place I know I can turn to when my well meaning family members look at me blankly when I'm freaking out.

takingthistooseriously · 26/02/2020 20:17

@Sabz36 thanks :)

@PineappleC fingers crossed for you!

lyndseybabybrain · 26/02/2020 20:45

Hello to everyone in this forum.
I wonder if you would mind me joining please.
I had my egg collection on 20/02/2020 and embryo transfer on 23/02/2020.
We were lucky this time 3rd round of IVF we had 10 embryos frozen and 2 put back in.
Really suffering with bloated ness and these horrible pessaries now!
How are you all feeling about your egg collection?

ChatWithMe · 26/02/2020 20:48

Good luck Rumtopf and takingthistooseriously

Oh and what's up with pregnancy test after 9 days?? My clinic say 11 days. Guess it's variable.

We had our IVF booking appointment today. After seeing the consultant the nurses squeezed us in to get all the other bits sorted same day so pretty lucky really.

Doing short protocol (no contraceptive pill).
Starting Menopur cycle day 2 (?March 10th)
Adding Fyremadel cycle day 6.
Scan day 5-8, then every few days.
Trigger with Gonasi. (?March 24th)
(Egg collection - ?March 26th)
(Embryo transfer - ?March 31st)
(Pregnancy test - ?April 11th)

..... Yikes!

takingthistooseriously · 26/02/2020 21:24

Thanks @ChatWithMe good luck to you too!

luby89k · 26/02/2020 22:19

@ChatWithMe you are super similar timings with me except i'm on long protocol. I start menopur on the 11th. EC if goes to plan 23rd.

good luck @Hatawa83 9 days will fly!

yes @Youngatheart00 so glad you haven't been cancelled. you only need one egg remember.

@PineappleC congrats on 10 eggs that's amazing. Let us know about fertilisation tomorrow!

@lyndseybabybrain why are the pesseries bad? i thought they would be the nicest part after all the injections (although not inserting them )

welcome new members

Youngatheart00 · 26/02/2020 22:21

@lyndseybabybrain WOW, 10 in the freezer? That’s incredible! I’ll be delighted with just one as even that is not looking too likely at the moment. Welcome and hope you’ve got things to keep you occupied during your 2WW Smile

Rumtopf · 26/02/2020 22:29

@chatwithme we're almost the same schedule. I'll be on a short protocol and my next period is due 11/03.

@takingthistooseriously good luck. Try not to dwell on the possible negatives, imagine and visualise the positives - each step going well, do some nice things to try and relax. Quite honestly it's terrifying and a huge whirlwind of emotions but nothing worthwhile ever came easy.

ChatWithMe · 26/02/2020 22:36

So we're IVF buddies then luby89k and Rumtopf Grin Hopefully BFPs all around!

Robson13 · 26/02/2020 23:27

Hi everyone, I've just stumbled across this post. We had an unsuccessful ICSI in November but luckily had two frozen embryos from that round so this month I'm on the drugs to prep for a frozen cycle. I was hoping it was going to be more straight forward and wasn't expecting to have the injections again....we're on day 6 of Buserelin and already feeling like it's never ending. I actually feel more.nervous about this round than the last one but just so glad that I don't have to have the egg retrieval again! I don't know about anyone else but I find that the hardest part is putting your life on hold. I feel like I can't plan anything for the near future as we don't know when we'll need to be at the hospital and even in the months ahead will be be pregnant or having to try another cycle.

Robson13 · 26/02/2020 23:33

I did first cycle in November and had put it off for months as I was so scared of what it would all entail and was kind of in disbelief that it wasn't happening naturally. Actually acknowledging that it wasn't happening naturally was the hardest part. Honestly the cycle wasn't half as bad as I was expecting....I get serious mood swings when I'm due on my period and was expecting this x100 with the drugs but it didn't happen. Big deep breath and go for it. Good luck x

jodesxx · 27/02/2020 07:42

Morning everyone!! Woken up today with a cba attitude for some reason - if only I could have the day off work!

Had our scan yesterday (after 5 days of injections). It's better than the last time as apparently at this point there was only one follicle over 10. This time we have 3 at 10 and 1 at 11 and quite a few under 10. She did say that it was better than last time but the impression I got from her was they were hoping for a better response. Scanned again Friday so we will see then. But I feel come Monday we will be making a decision to go ahead or delay. Maybe I'm just being negative though!

I have a question which may be stupid but do you only get one egg in a follicle? Is it unlikely they'd get one from the smaller follicles?

Do peoples DP/DH come with them to every scan? My DP came to my first one and will come on Monday but couldn't come yesterday or Friday. It's really difficult for him to leave work part through the day and all appointments are mornings - he literally needs to book the whole day off. I just hate going on my own but my MIL said she will come with me on Friday.
