Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time

@fool11 how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

We've just had a phonecall from our embryologist. We only have 2 of our 6 that have made it to blast stage, and one of them is really poor quality. So I guess its all riding on this one! I know it only takes one, but it's scary to know there is no back up. The said the rest of them have progressed from day 3 but arnt blasts yet, so they are going to give them until tomorrow and see if any are good enough to freeze, she wasn't hopeful though. I guess the phrase all my eggs in one basket has never had more relevance than it does right now!

@Mseddy hope all goes well later today. At least one is good for transfer today and others might catch up tomorrow so might be able to freeze..fingers crossed.

@fool11 thanks so much for checking in on me. I am about to leave for my blood test now but I already know the answer 100%.

I have been having my full flow period since 9dp5dt. It is honestly nothing but a period. Feel a bit silly going in for a test but then I can have a nice big coffee afterwards and perhaps a wine tonight. Start planning the next cycle. I am not sure if my clinic will shut down over christmas and I might have to start in January. :(

Considering changing protocols to menopur from gonal-F and ask about double triggers etc. My number of blast has always been ok but maybe they could be better?

I am at hospital just about to have ET, really nervous, waiting to find out how many made it to d5..will see..still haven’t decided on one or two if I’ll have to make that choice..our clinic will also be closed over Xmas.

I heard that if you transfer 2 of differing qualities it can affect the ability of the good one to transfer. I am considering only transferring one next time

Okay well you could bowl me over with a feather right now. My pregnancy blood test was positive! But I am highly doubtful it is anything but a chemical or non viable pregnancy. Kind of still in limbo. I have just bled so so much. Now have to wait for hcg numbers results.

@violet180 tentative congratulations! Some people do bleed through pregnancy so I wouldn't loose all hope. Also a very good friend of mine bled heavily and it was because she was a twin pregnancy and one embryo sadly didn't make it but the other did. So it could be a number of things. Got everything crossed for you

Just on the way back, we had 2 good ones which made it to day 5, which is great for my age, I’m being reminded all the time, rest are behind so they will leave them till tomorrow. I went for two..will see what happens. Consultant said that one doesn’t effect other one if different quality, not hugely different, ..testing in 11 days..

@Mseddy sorry you didn't get as many embryos as you were hoping, I was the same. Hope the transfer has gone well though, keep positive.

I'm trying to get a prescription for progesterone from my GP, my clinic accidentally sent the letter to the wrong surgery so I forwarded it to them last week. Just rang and the receptionist was particularly unhelpful and just fobbed me off saying "there's nothing on there" I asked if she could check if they got the email, she just said no because it's "passed" and I was like, what does that mean?! She was no help and told me to email it again, will chase again tmrw if I can but back at work and they only take calls on prescriptions between 2-4 when I will be seeing patients of my own. Sorry just a silly rant and I'm sure it'll get sorted but I'm just irritated hehe.
I've also just realised that as my BMI has crept back up over 30 during my two cycles I should be on 5mg folic acid so will have to see if I can get an appointment. For now I'm popping a bundle of the 400mcg ones 😂

@fool11 pregnant until proven otherwise.

The one we had was really good quality, so it's back in tucked up safe and hopefully ready to snuggle in and grow. We find out tomorrow if any of the others made it to blasts to be frozen. My OTD is 14 days from today. I've told my DH that no way on earth are we waiting until then! I'm sticking to the 2 weeks post egg collection rule that most clinics follow. Mostly because thats the day before I go back to work and I'm going to need a few days to get my head around it if it's bad news. I'm feeling much more positive than I was this morning. I just really hope this one is the one!

Glad to hear it went well, I’m drained now, back at work tomorrow..hopefully being busy will help with the waiting..our clinic does/follows 16d after EC rule..seems like ages.

What is the earliest you could try with some home test?

@Mseddy glad it went well and you had a good one. I had a 5 day transfer and did my test 11 days after, although I see others who do them earlier.

Thanks to everyone for your supportive messages. Theres no scan to do this early.
Got HCG numbers back: 185!
Will know for sure on Wednesday if my numbers double by then.

Meanwhile.my progesterone is really low at 21 so I have to start lubion injections ASAP. Can only pick them up tomorrow morning with prescription so I might take an extra cyclogest supppository today. Really confused because my progesterone test on transfer day was supposedly really high at 400 something.....

@violet180 I'd go for the extra pesserie for sure! Hope you get the injections sorted ASAP

I was so tempted to test this morning, I know 12 days is fine but I know I wouldn't want to go to college...so tomorrow it is, I can't hang out the full 14 days... I am going crazy!!

@Dusky7 well done for waiting one more day. I'm not enjoying the TWW already and it's only day 1! Or day 6 I suppose given it was a 5 day blast. We found out this morning that none of the embryos they tried to give until day 6 made it. I know I should be happy with the one I've got, but I feel like there is going to be so much more pressure on test day! I just want to know either way now. Aaaaaaaages left before in do though!

@Dusky7 you've done so well and the hcg should be well in your system for an accurate result.

feeling ok, thank you. day 1 and back at work as crazy busy at work, need to make up all the time i took off for scans, EC and ET as work doesn't know..should be testing next Friday...strange feeling knowing that there are 2 embryos inside, 3weeks ago i didn't even know that i'll do the ivf..everything is moving so fast.. Just had a phone call from the clinic and the remaining 4 embryos were unfortunately not good for freezing. One made it to day 5blastocyst but poor quality.

@mseddy when are you planning to test? are you going to use some home test as well or just the ones from clinic?

@fool11 we are in a similar position then, except hopefully both your little embryos will stick! Our test date from the clinic is 24th, no way am I waiting until then. I think we are going to test on 20th which is 2 weeks from egg collection which would be 9days post 5 day transfer or 14 days post ovulation. Knowing what I was like for testing before we knew about the infertility I'll be surprised if I last that long! I don't have any tests in the house except the one the clinic gave me which I genuinely think I'm going have to have get my husband to hide! My plan is to use a first response early result on the 20th and then use the clinics one on the 24th to double check the result. What are your plans? Glad we can count down together

I'm probably going to wait till Friday or maybe will get a first response ones first and test on thur (wed is my bday and i don't want to be upset on that day if negative, being prob silly but..) will see what happens. In a way it's good i'm so busy at work, don't have much time to think about it. When are you back at work?

I know it's daft, the hope for one more day is kind of nice though, as well as going stir crazy!! No more period pains but feel soooo normal :(
