Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Congratulations!!! Amazing, sooo pleased for you.

Have a lovely Easter both of you.

LucyLucyT · 10/04/2020 20:15

@41trying this is so exciting! I know it's still nerve-wracking but I'm so so pleased for you! xx

41trying · 11/04/2020 21:54

Hey ladies, I hope you both are well and enjoying the sunshine while we have it.
I quick question, I've done the ivf calculator where you can choose from egg retrieval date to work out dates etc.
It comes up 4+3, so more days, as I just assumed I would only be 4 weeks on OTD?
Any ideas?

LucyLucyT · 13/04/2020 15:55

@41trying. I'm not sure exactly how it's worked out but I always found those online calculators matched what my clinic said and then my dates at scans. How are you feeling?

We've been doing more work on our nursery. Annoyingly I ordered paint from homebase a couple of weeks ago and they emailed me yesterday saying it wouldn't come until 22nd May! I've asked for a refund. Hoping I can get something somewhere else.

41trying · 13/04/2020 16:24

I did online calculator and it says I'm 4+5 today working out dates from EC. Wanted to know if the clinic would th4n give me my scan by those dates when I call them tomorrow. I'm feeling ok off food a little but other than that ok.
How annoying you cant get what you need, when you have time to do it all.

LucyLucyT · 15/04/2020 07:47

I think my clinic went by those sorts of dates. Mine did a scan at 8 weeks though where as I think a lot do them at 7. Hope you are both doing okay :-) x

fool11 · 15/04/2020 16:17

Hi both, hope you are well.

I've used the online calculator too but it was the same as the date i got from the clinic, based on EC day, if i remember correctly for the EDD..i had my scan at 8w. When is your EDD @41trying?

When are you planning to go on maternity @LucyLucyT? will you be staying home full 12m?

41trying · 17/04/2020 10:16

Morning ladies, I hope you both are well.
@fool11, my scan is booked for 28th. Well it's been a week and I thought I would take another test. This time last week I go a 1-2 weeks, today I got a 3+ , thought it would be 2-3 next but hey ho, I'm happy with that.
All I'm thinking is on Tuesday it will only be another week to scan, so it's not too bad.

LucyLucyT · 17/04/2020 22:41

That's great news @41trying, nice to know the numbers are going up! Hope you are feeling okay.

I've ended up with swollen ankles and legs today, hoping it's because I've sat too long today rather than anything more serious. My blood pressure is stable, going to check I don't have protein in my urine. Just wanting to check I'm not developing pre-eclampsia or something. Pregnancy hasn't been the most fun time, but still appreciative of it!

fool11 · 19/04/2020 20:23

Hi @LucyLucyT, hope your ankles and legs are back to normal, no longer swollen...how are you feeling? Is your glucose test tomorrow? I have my test on Tuesday. Do you know if we can have some food, breakfast before the test or does it have to be on empty stomach? I must admit I don’t enjoy pregnancy, didn’t enjoy the first one and this time it’s even harder, very happy and appreciative we got this far , but def I’m not one of those who say I love to be pregnant..I can’t wait for this phase, to be over . I haven’t had my blood pressure measured or urine test since w16..thinking about getting some sticks on amazon so I can check as don’t have a midwife app till 32w..considering I’m down as high risk pregnancy it seems crazy but understand with the current situation they try to limit the visits. Have you finish your nursery? I think you’ve mentioned few weeks ago that you are sorting it out..we took all my dd’s baby clothes out and we have so many, quite lucky that many sleep suits are neutral with animals etc so ok for a boy too, so don’t really need to buy anything for him.

Glad to hear the levels are rising @41trying..will you have a blood test as well? My clinic didn’t do blood tests so I just did the same as you, just tested once a week to see if levels are rising, if changing from 1-2 to 2-3, 3+ etc and continued till my scan, just to make sure it kept saying 3+ ...every stage is so stressful..hope all is well with you.

41trying · 20/04/2020 10:27

Morning ladies! I hope you enjoyed your weekend?
@LucyLucyT I hope those ankles have gone down for you.
@fool11, I wont have a blood test, just scan a week tomorrow, which to be fair as gone quickly. I have one more test left which I will have Friday. I was surprised it jumped from 1-2, straight to 3 the week after though.
Do you know if 3+ is the most it goes to?

fool11 · 20/04/2020 13:26

HI @41trying..yes as far as i remember..i had the same results, it went from 1-2 straight to 3+ a week later..i kept then testing every week to make sure it's not dropping back to 1-2 , till i had my scan (was paranoid at that point as with my last pregnancy we thought all was fine and then discovered i had a MMC).

LucyLucyT · 20/04/2020 13:58

Hi both, got back a short while back. Scan was okay from what I can tell. Like last time the head is on a smaller (but within normal limits) centile than the rest of the body but it seems to be evening out now, they don't seem to be worried! Saw my midwife and he measured me and I was measuring okay. He thought that the baby might have been having a few ectopic beats on the Doppler but I get those myself and in unborn babies it's usually just because their heart is immature still.

Had my glucose tolerance, @fool11 you usually can't eat anything from night before, in my case it was 10pm last night, and then plain water only. I know what you mean about the urine dipstix, I acquired just a few from work but you can buy them online from what I've seen. Do you have a blood pressure meter? So far both my urine and BP have been good so hopefully it stays that way!

Yes been working on our nursery but still waiting for pain delivery. Going to do some sanding in there later to get the walls as good as we can.

@41trying you must be excited for your scan! I know it's also a bit nerve-wracking though!

fool11 · 20/04/2020 14:23

Glad to hear all went well @LucyLucyT. Was it your 28w scan? I thought the baby was on a 'big side' during my 22w scan, def bigger than my daughter, which prob is good, as she was tiny, wondering if all the sweet stuff i'm eating and ice cream might be responsible :) . But I remember during my 12w scan at the Fetal med centre consultant saying that the ivf babies are usually bigger during the first and second trimester..will see. Just found a letter from the clinic with my appointment, didnt' realise there were instructions on the back of the letter (so no food from 10pm, just water). Was the hospital busy during your appointment? i don't have a blood pressure monitor, didn't need it before, my BP is usually very low, as so low they normally have to remeasure it..but might get the urine sticks from amazon..do i just need to google 'urine stick' or do i need some specific ones?

Hope you are both enjoying the sunshine. Just came back from a nice walk with my dd..the cherry blossom trees are so gorgeous, it's link a pink snow everywhere.

LucyLucyT · 20/04/2020 18:46

Glad you found your letter with the instructions :-)
The urine sticks we use at the hospital are these:
www.amazon.co.uk/Siemens-Multistix-Urine-Test-Sticks/dp/B00V4UURTE?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

They are quite expensive, I can see there are various others that are cheaper but you might need to research that they are legit ones.

Don't worry about the BP, I bought a cheapish automatic one but it's actually the same brand as the one I use at work. I wanted one anyway so thought I might as well get one now!

I've just been doing a bit sanding, wore a filtered mask but my hair ended up covered in dust... Looked about 25 years older!

fool11 · 21/04/2020 16:07

Thanks for the link @LucyLucyT. I had my glucose test today, it wasn’t as bad as I remembered, but waiting for 2h was exhausting..when did you get your results? Immediately? I have my scan in 2w time now together with the midwife app, blood tests, urine test etc. They are not allowing partners to attend the clinic, scans which is a shame but understandable.

LucyLucyT · 21/04/2020 22:16

Yeah no partners here either so I was on my own yesterday.
The phlebotomist said basically if I don't hear anything then it's okay and that a midwife would ring me if there is a problem. I might text my midwife and ask him to check the results for me so I know for sure.

fool11 · 22/04/2020 11:03

Thanks, wasn't sure if i need to call them..i'll just wait, i guess no news is a good news..
did you have a whooping cough jab? i had it yesterday and omg, my arm is in agony, could barely sleep , it's so sore, feel worse than after EC! Nasty jab.

how are you doing @41trying?

41trying · 23/04/2020 11:40

Morning both, I'm doing ok thank you. Counting down the days until Tuesday.
@fool11, I remember you saying they told you to take aspirin? Was this from the Dr?
If all is ok and they discharge me, do I just let my doctor know and they take it from there?

fool11 · 23/04/2020 12:55

The consultant told me when I had my 8w scan to start the 75mg aspirin, she said they recommend to all women above 40 , helps the blood flow from placenta, i think, and she told me stop the progesterone (which i was more than happy about, i know some women take progesterone till w12 or longer, but i think it depends on if fresh or frozen cycle/transfer..not sure, i was happy to stop at 8w). I went online and my trust has a link to fill in for the EAU, you fill it in and that day few hours later i had a call from the pregnancy unit, they registered my pregnancy and i've asked them to schedule a booking appointment..i would not bother with GP..waste of time..my GP didnt even know what to do, she googled it and said , oh i will register you, but i was already registered...maybe you can just drop them an email so they can put on your file, at least my experience was waste of time and i haven't been there since. Glad to hear you are well.

41trying · 23/04/2020 13:49

Thanks for that @fool11, suppose I will just wait till Tuesday and see what they have to say. My clinic say to take them till 12weeks, I know what you mean, they are awful and I'm so bloated

LucyLucyT · 23/04/2020 14:06

I continued the progesterone until 12 weeks but I think more and more clinics not doing this now, she even stop after BFP. I wasn't on aspirin initially, might be because I'm under 40 but consultant at 20 weeks said I should be having it, I'm having 150mg a day. She said it reduces risk of pre-eclampsia.
Like @fool11 my local trust have a website you fill in a form on and then I was sent an appt for 12 week scan and booking in appt with midwife. My clinic wrote to my GP to confirm the pregnancy I think :-)

fool11 · 27/04/2020 14:41

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow @41trying.

LucyLucyT · 27/04/2020 23:15

Yes good luck! xx

41trying · 28/04/2020 10:41

Morning both, I'm back and all is well. Measuring 7 weeks tomorrow, so all good, another long waiting game now I suppose.
I wanted to book a harmony test, but everywhere is closed.
I hope you both are well
