Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Congratulations @41trying ,that's great news, really pleased. Yes, the waiting game kind of never stops..12w scan, 20w scan..always something to wait for and stress about (well, that's just me..)
I had my harmony test at the Fetal med center in London (with all 3 pregnancies), they are great , and offer a good package, but appreciate that it might not be near you..we live in surrey and went there for my 22w scan a few weeks ago, and due to covid situation it was the best journey ever, empty roads, got there quickly, parked there on the street, it was a really good experience, and it's not crowded, and partners allowed. The 10w scan, harmony test and 12w scan package is i think £400.

41trying · 28/04/2020 11:11

Thanks @Fool11, I live in Birmingham, there are centres around here but they are not open. Not sure if they will be in the coming weeks or not

fool11 · 28/04/2020 11:50

that is a bit too far.. prob over 2h drive to london for you..presume you don't fancy travelling in this situation which is understading. I presume you will have a nhs test, nuchal and scan at 12w..hopefully it will be fine but they will offer you a free nipt test if the results would come lover than 1 in 150 , if i understood correctly..

LucyLucyT · 29/04/2020 15:21

@41trying so pleased the scan went well, must be hugely reassuring! Are the waiting game is never fun and just goes from one step to the next!

I'm starting to feel a bit huge now, finding it more difficult to get comfortable, especially at night, getting so much indigestion and I've never burped so much in my life!

fool11 · 01/05/2020 10:12

Hi both of you! happy Friday..how are you doing? Are you having any symptoms @41trying? I remember being very hungry, was constantly eating, carbs, ate so much i then felt nauseous every evening...

the eating continues...this boy is always hungry (might be just my excuse). I also feel huge, the belly is in front of me like a balloon, feels really uncomfortable and very tight. Also struggling to sleep, can only sleep on my sides (normally a front sleeper) and my legs and hips are really sore, have to turn every15-20min, so not getting much sleep. Little one is kicking my ribs and bladder (well everything) so hard it's really uncomfortable..and i have anterior placenta.. Have you been doing the pelvic excercises @LucyLucyT? i must admit i need to step up and do more of it before it's too late..i try once a day but some days i just forget. When are you going on your maternity?

LucyLucyT · 01/05/2020 22:58

Hey @fool11 I'm having very similar problems! My hips have been sore at night for months, but getting worse now, having to turn frequently as well. He or she seems to like kicking all over as well!

Noticing that I'm starting to waddle a fair bit now. Feel like I need to try and get more active, I am going for a 40 minute walk but only 2-3 times a week which is nothing like what I used to do! Was enjoying a Pilates class up until lockdown as well and had intended to try and do stuff at home but not really found anything as good.

With pelvic floor, like you I'm probably going at least once a day but she says I get to three but it's not consistent, I need to set a reminder on my phone!

I desperately need to try and get some more clothes but just not enjoying that kind of online shopping just now.
On the good side hopefully going to get our nursery pretty much decorated in the next couple of weeks.

Hope you are doing well @41trying

fool11 · 03/05/2020 08:05

Well done for making big progress with the nursery. Have you packed your hospital back yet? I haven’t, I think still plenty of time although my husband wants to be ‘ready’.. I think you can even pack it before u go to hospital if you have baby clothes, nappies etc ready..you don’t need much, I’m sure we haven’t used most of stuff we packed for our first. I just need to get some baby formula in case I can’t BF..
I waddle a lot and really struggle to get up from the sofa etc, very soft cushions so really hard, I feel like a sumo wrestler..I haven’t bought any maternity clothes and don’t think will be buying some now that we are in lockdown..don’t think I’ll go back to the office (travelling to london), I just wear my low raise jeans which sit nicely under my belly and I have a waist extenders if I’ll need a bit of more room and I just wear loose tops which I had ,been wearing already anyway..I don’t like tiny tight tops, clothes anyway (boohoo style) if you know what I mean..
I also need to excercise more but struggling to find time, really tired after I finish work (normally do 7.30 to 5 every day) and my company is quite strict.
Have a good week.

LucyLucyT · 03/05/2020 08:54

Not packed a bag yet, think I might buy a small cabin suitcase with wheels as I will have to carry it myself into the unit when the time comes, as my partner can only be there in active labour. Think I have chosen one on Amazon to get.
My sister passed on lots of things to me so need to start going through that to see what we have and organise it all.
I wish I could wear underbump stuff but I find it really uncomfortable (think it's because of still have loose skin from previous weight loss. So currently relying on some not very nice tracksuit bottoms from when I was bigger and a pair of George over bump black work trousers! I'm okay for tops but would like another pair or trousers. Ordered some maternity leggings from JoJo the other day and a nursing bra, waiting for those to be delivered. Got two other nursing bras the other day so making a bit of progress hehe. Oh yeah I want to have some back up formula just in case! Although I'm not a complete eco warrior I do want to minimise impact on waste if possible so going to use washable nappies (I'll use disposable in the first few weeks while I get used to having a small human!). I also had a washable wipe kit delivered the other day which I hope will be quite good :-)

Those hours are fairly long, is that 5 days a week? I generally do 8-6 four days a week but sometimes have to work weekends or bank holidays as well. Do they allow you extra breaks now? I think they are obliged to now you are pregnant if you need it. Mind you I work for the NHS and they are generally a bit better with that sort of thing I know.

fool11 · 03/05/2020 09:59

I’m in a very nice loose lounge pants most of the time..def don’t look like one of those yummy mummy ladies but I’m beyond caring ☺️. Just want something comfortable. I’ve heard that partners are not allowed for pre labour but can be there during the labour..hopefully things will change by July..with my last one it was good to have him there (at least I could shout at him when I needed to shout at someone 😊)..my labour wasn’t great, nurses kept ignoring me as first time mum, although wanted epidural and wouldn’t even give me gas and air..went from 1 to 10cm in 2.5h and they only came in when I screamed that baby is coming out..(it was good to have partner there as we made them to give me epidural at 10cm)..so really hope they will be allowed in by July.
I must admit I’ll be using disposable nappies, we were changing them like 12-14times a day..and the amount of washing , time, water used, detergent , soaking first etc I don’t think it so eco friendly..but that’s just me..And part of it is just ease of use..my dd didn’t sleep through the night till she was 20m , at that time she would still wake up at least 2 times but before that she would sleep exactly for 30min and would be up..I barely slept and don’t know how I managed to function..
Yes I work full time, 5days and it’s a private company so you don’t have much choice..the IT is checking every logon on, if u do you hours, emails, msgs..it’s much worse than being in the office. I have 30min lunch break (I eat whilst working) so I can spend my lunch break with my dd ..I can take short breaks here and there but they keep constantly calling, have online meetings etc so not easy. 10w to go, not that I’m counting..
Did your consultant mention an early birth or full 40w ? During my 12w scan he wrote down delivery 37/39w at the latest..not sure if that means induction or a C section. Need to have a chat with him.

41trying · 03/05/2020 18:12

Afternoon both! I do hope you both are well, sounds like you are apart from deciding what to wear and too much work ha ha.
I called to register pregnancy at DR's they going to pass info onto midwife, no idea how long that will take.
I have also managed to book a harmony test for 18th as the clinic near me reopens in the 11th.
Apart from sore boobs and the odd bout of feeling sick but not actually been, I'm all ok.
So hard to make the time go quickly when there is not much to do.

fool11 · 03/05/2020 18:36

Ha ha true..although I could moan about how tired I am, how uncomfortable, constipated, bloated, heartburn, lack of sleep, feet hurting, back hurting etc etc..pregnancy is not something I can say I love, had similar experience with my first one..but I’m sure you don’t want to listen to that 😬.

Glad to hear you are doing well @41trying and that you managed to book your harmony test. I think working long hours kind of helps, have no time to be bored , can’t believe I’m 7m on wed!

41trying · 12/05/2020 15:13

Hey ladies, how are you both, feeling well I hope?
I have received my first appointments, booking in one over the phone next week and my Scan for 1st June, think it is starting to feel a little bit more real now.

LucyLucyT · 12/05/2020 22:47

Hey, glad you've got your appointments through, it must be so lovely for you after the attempts you had :-)
I'm alright thanks, struggling to get good sleep at the moment but getting by! Trying to get more active still. Went for a nice walk tonight and found a good pregnancy pilates workout on YouTube which I did yesterday and enjoyed.

LucyLucyT · 12/05/2020 22:51

Posted before I finished!
Got our Moses basket today, it's lovely. A Wool nest by a company called Mokee. Travel system is due to come in about 3 weeks. Getting there slowly!
Started with an online Antenatal group today, hoping it helps me feel a little more prepared!

fool11 · 13/05/2020 16:12

Hi both, i'm well, thank you. 29w today, it's kind of getting real...must admit finding really difficult to sleep, my hips are killing me, so sore. Are you using a pregnancy pillow for sleeping @LucyLucyT? i've looked at some, but they all look weird and some are so expensive.
Glad to hear you are both well. Is it your 12w scan @41trying? have you managed to arrange a harmony test?
With the lockdown easing, will you be going back to work? I won't , so it feels weird that i won't be back till next summer, still working from home though, planning to work as long as possible so can have more time with the baby.

LucyLucyT · 14/05/2020 18:55

I'm also getting pain in my hips at night, have to keep turning onto the other side, it's okay in the day though but then my back can be a bit achy.
I just use a normal pillow between my knees, I think the big pregnancy pillows will make me too hot!
I'm still working from home, I've booked my maternity leave 3 weeks prior to my due date, just want a bit of time (hopefully!) To get myself sorted out.

fool11 · 27/05/2020 07:17

Hi @41trying and @LucyLucyT..just wanted to ask how are you both doing..hope all is well.

41trying · 27/05/2020 17:40

Hi @fool11 I'm well thank you, I hope you are too. I'm waiting for my NIPT results this week and I have my 12 week scan on Monday.
@LucyLucyT I hope you are well?

LucyLucyT · 27/05/2020 23:44

Hi both, I'm alright thanks, feeling rather huge but still managing to do things, spent way too long in the heat at my allotment yesterday, but I'm worried about how overgrown it's getting already!
Had a growth scan last week and all seems well at the moment and measuring about average.
Struggling with being hungry all the time again, oh well!
We've painted our nursery just trying to fit the carpet back in again. It's all starting to get a bit real now and definitely getting a bit nervous about the birth. Oh and we still need names, got nothing for if it's a boy, argh!
Good luck with your scan next week @41trying will be nice for you to see your little one again :-D and hope the results come through okay for you.
@fool11 how are you feeling now? xx

fool11 · 28/05/2020 10:22

Hi, glad to hear you are both well. Hope you will get the good results from your NIPT and all goes well on Monday @41trying. It will be nice to see the little one again. Keep us posted.

Well done for doing some work at your allotment @LucyLucyT, that's great. I have only a tiny veggie patch, some strawberries, raspberries but struggling to bend..belly in the way. I feel also huge, my belly is already bigger than i was with my first when i was giving birth..and i'm also hungry, but i still eat some biscuits and chocolate every day..not good but can't help it. I have my 32w scan next Thursday, will see what the consultant will say (although he is not very pleasant and very talkative) . I had a call from a birth choices consultant last week and they want me to deliver baby at 38/39w..i'm going to try a sweep at 38w, sweep worked with my first one at 39w, she was born next day, not sure it will work at 38w and then we provisionally booked in an induction at 39w..don't really want to be induced, at my hospital they are not doing pessaries currently, would have to go there in the afternoon for a balloon insertion, stay till morning, if waters don't brake naturally, they would break in the morning, then wait, if nothing happens then go on a drip for max 12h..if nothing happens then would be a c-section..or could just go straight for a c section..really not sure what to do, don't like any of these options, read on NHS web that 1 in 3 inductions do end up in emergency c section..so not sure what to go through the whole palava of trying to be induced which might not work..and would have to stay in hospital for long, on my own. Then planned c section might be more organised, but obviously has it's risks..decisions decisions. Need to talk to consultant again. Getting stressed out just thinking about it.

fool11 · 28/05/2020 15:47

forgot to ask @LucyLucyT..was the baby head down already during your last scan?

LucyLucyT · 28/05/2020 23:55

It is worrying with all the possibilities, I am trying not to think too much about induction. I've read the opposite with C-section in some cases induction at 39 weeks can reduce chances of needing one, so I guess it's hard to know! Really would rather not have a section but I guess I'll just have to see what happens. They are doing pessary induction for me. I hope you get what your ideal birth would be.

Yes baby has been head down since 28 weeks now, hopefully it doesn't decide to do a tumble!

fool11 · 01/06/2020 16:07

How did your scan go at @41trying? hope all is well x
