Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Hi @41trying..that took long but at least you can start today, that’s great!

Bump is growing, it’s kind of small in the morning and by afternoon it’s massive (I think). I had my 20w scan yest and all seems fine, couldn’t see him properly as he was facing down , all curled up and didn’t want to turn. Hopefully we will get to see him better during my 28w scan.

How are you doing @LucyLucyT? Just a quick question, I think you’ve mentioned that you are on mix midwife/consultant care..I’m down as high risk and should be seeing gp/midwife/consultant but I havent seen a consultant yet, only seen midwife at 16w and have another midwife app at 24w..how often do you see a consultant and have you had any more blood tests done etc?

41trying · 12/03/2020 16:21

Hey @Fool11, so happy that everything is going well! Exciting times aa these months are going so quickly it seems.

fool11 · 14/03/2020 05:54

Hi, how are you both doing? I woke up on Thursday , middle of the night with a cold and sore throat and nose bleed and feeling rough. My company asked my to self isolate yest (I work in London) and early this morning my little one woke up with a high temp, 39c,she has a cold too. I’m sure it’s just a normal cold but do worry a bit, feel like whole coronavirus is getting out of hands..hope I not get any high temp and worried his would that effect baby..I believe even when you have a flu, cold etc the high temp is not good for baby..

Hi both sorry been a bit absent, as I work in respiratory the covid19 thing is on my mind a lot at home and at work! I'm working out how it's going to affect my job, working today and bit nervous as meant to go to admission wards etc. My Trust is now seeing pregnant staff can work with the positive patients it seems, lucky (in a way) I also have asthma, so this will cover me so I can be kept away from them. Issue is a lot of my patients have the same symptoms a lot of the time. More worried about my partner and his Cystic fibrosis though, could be really bad news for him and it frightens me.

@fool11 sorry to hear you and your little one aren't well. Generally they are not too worried about pregnancy or the young and the affect of covid19. Stay at home, self-isolate, Calpol/paracetamol and monitor I think is the best advice. I know it's a worry but they don't think it transmits to the baby. I know I'd worry if it was me though! Hope you feel better soon xx

With regards my follow up, I'm seeing midwife as normal, I saw the consultant the same day as my 20 week scan, main thing she did was add aspirin. I will see her or one of her team at 28, 32 and 36 weeks when I also get growth scans. Haven't seen my GP at all so far! Just the practice nurse for my whooping cough vaccine. Hope you get an appointment soon but it's more just a keeping an eye on things I think.

@41trying pleased to hear you are making some progress even if it's a bit slower than you would like! When will your first scan be to check ovaries?

My bump is basically me looking very fat, like before I lost weight for IVF. I know I've eaten too much and have gained weight I shouldn't have, finding it hard to control my eating though. Overall the last week or so people are saying I'm looking pregnant, but I still have a bit of a waist, so look like two tyres! It's filling out in the middle, think once that is done I'll feel a bit more confident. Hating choosing clothes at the moment, going to a christening tomorrow (can't get away with not going as we are godparents!) and I got a dress but it looks a bit rubbish. Anyway I shouldn't moan, I'm very lucky to be where I am!

fool11 · 14/03/2020 12:54

Must be stressful for you @LucyLucyT, working in that environment..I’m stressed out just from travelling every day. My colleague just sent me a text that she woke up with a high temp..and I just read the news that the first newborn baby in England has tested positive for coronavirus. Was tested immediately when born..they don’t know yet if baby got infected during delivery or in the womb..that’s awful..

I’m finding it hard to control eating too..especially sweet stuff which is very unlike me..and very hungry during the day..I eat so much that I think sometimes I’m sick in the evening just because I ate too much during the day. I haven’t bought any maternity, new clothes, just wearing loose tops, t shirts, jumpers and got the waist extensions for my pants, they are low rise and sit just under my belly which is perfect. My belly is normal size, I think, but I do feel huge. I have a consultant app at 29w a need to have a scan at 28 but hospital very unhelpful to coordinate on the same day..

LucyLucyT · 14/03/2020 23:17

My next scan is 20th April, they didn't have any space in the clinic that day so have to go up to the day unit to see a doctor which is fine. Also have my glucose tolerance test that day as well. So far most appts have ended up on my day off!

Staying in a hotel tonight and I've attacked the place with antibacterial wipes 😁 hoping no one who is sick comes to this christening tomorrow.

Yes I heard about that lady and her newborn, wonder whether they will have to think again over the advice I sent you.

fool11 · 15/03/2020 21:58

Hope you had a nice day at the Christening today @LucyLucyT.

I’ve been feeling rough all day, have absolutely no energy, cough is starting but luckily no temp, also my dd still has a high temp, a cold and a cough..and just got an email from work that office is going to be closed for a deep clean as a colleague developed symptoms (temp and a cough)..it’s getting really too close for my liking..

How are you getting on@41trying
? When is your next scan?

LucyLucyT · 17/03/2020 06:06

Hey, christening was okay thanks, just lots of driving so it was tiring in the end. Just hope neither of us have picked anything up!

Sorry your daughter is still unwell, just keep safe at home for now. Mind you it sounds like we're going to have to from the weekend.

Hope you are doing okay @41trying xx

fool11 · 17/03/2020 07:00

Morning, it looks like we will have to self dis t able for 12w?!! Been home since Friday, still have a cold and a sore throat and a headache, my little one still has a temp, but can’t imagine be wfh for 12w..will go crazy. Will you have to stay at home as you work in hospital @LucyLucyT? What did hospital say? Did they give you some protection masks etc? Thinking about getting some mask for my husband as he will be going shops etc..worried whole thing is getting out of hands and worried what will happen to our appointments, scans etc. Keep safe x

41trying · 17/03/2020 20:21

Evening both, hope your both ok. My scan is tomorrow with provisional EC Monday or Wednesday. Lots of ladies on other threads have had their cycles cancelled, so I am really scared for tomorrow being so far in. I have to keep fingers crossed. I'm 42 and dont want to go into another year. I know you are older @Fool11 but it's not something me and DH want to do. So will just have to wait now I suppose.

fool11 · 17/03/2020 21:21

I hope all goes well for you @41trying tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I know what you mean, age thing, I hoped I would have my second one by age 42/43 but unfortunately lost the baby at that time, when I was 43..never thought I would be preg at my age, if I’m honest, didn’t plan , wanted to be preg at 45..but it is what it is..I just want the little one be ok and move on with our lives. But with the virus everywhere now worried whats gonna happen in next few weeks/months..have you heard any news from your clinic? Are they planning to keep open? Thanks got your cycle is here in uk, read so many stories about clinics abroad closed and now with the travel ban it’s must be heartbreaking for so many people not to able to continue. Keep us posted how it goes tomorrow. Good luck.

41trying · 17/03/2020 21:45

@Fool11, nothing from clinic yet, it is private and not connected to a hospital so there is that.
I understand what you are saying about age, I totally agree with what you are saying.
DH and I do have children just not together, this is why we have gone down this route.
He said today, if they cancel then that will be it, as we both said we dont want to go into another year.
I have paid for all drugs, but not paid for cycle yet, as my clinic ask for it before EC, so I want tomorrow just to come now and for me to be able to see what they say.
I'm on day 7 stims high dose, it would be great to say I'm ready and get it all over with, but I doubt that.

fool11 · 17/03/2020 22:03

Hopefully it will be a good news tomorrow but as you say, you can’t predict these things..when I went for check up, scan on day 9 they were not ready and had to do stims for extra 3d..fingers crossed. I fully understand why you would not want to do this again..I also said to my self when we were deciding whether to go ahead or not that I’m only going to try once, so I don’t have regrets that I didn’t try..would not try again if it didn’t work if I’m honest..in a weird way I was glad I had no embryos to freeze as I didn’t want to be responsible for a decision to destroy them, knowing that I would not want to try ivf again. Might sound horrid but just do st want to go through this process again.

41trying · 18/03/2020 12:31

Well it's one day at a time but it is business as usual as long as you are ok. Scan went well 8 measuring between 10-12 so 2 more than last time at this stage. So another scan Friday and Monday the hopefully EC next Wednesday. I'm staying home until it happens.

fool11 · 18/03/2020 12:54

That’s great @41trying. Enjoy your long weekend.

I’m home since last Friday and going crazy..unfortunately still feeling unwell, can’t imagine to be home for 12w!

41trying · 18/03/2020 12:59

Thanks @Fool11, we are remote working anyway, so not really left the house. I know what you mean about being stuck in for such a long period though.
Are you just generally unwell?

fool11 · 18/03/2020 13:23

I woke up with a cold and sore throat last Thursday, so my company wanted me to self isolate. Then my daughter woke up on sat with a high temp (39), she had a cold for the past week but coughing as well ( I do think it’s just a normal cold) So have to keep her off school for 14d..( although I think they will close schools from tomorrow)..I don’t have a temp, just horrid headaches and feel really exhausted. It’s been 6d and it’s not improving.

41trying · 18/03/2020 13:42

Oh bless you, I really do hope you both start to feel better soon. It's more the not knowing isn't it, quite scary really. Well keep in touch ok

LucyLucyT · 18/03/2020 20:19

@41trying so pleased your follicles are getting there and that your treatment is not being interrupted.

@fool11 really hope you feel better soon!
It's just so surreal what is happening now, this is going to have implications for years.

I'm now working from home, I'm not sure I'm going to like it but needs must. I'm trying to come to terms that I am not going to be able to help my patients in the same way as normal, but we will keep doing our best.

fool11 · 19/03/2020 08:47

Are your patients going to visit you at home @LucyLucyT? Sorry if silly question..it’s def better to be at home and safe than in hospital environment.. I’ve heard so many hospitals don’t let their pregnant nurses etc to stay at home or at least do some less patient facing job, must be scary. It’s really surreal what’s happening..hopefully people are realising this is not a joke (my office managers we’re still last week saying people are overreacting ..now they are all wfh...)

I called gp this morning as still no improvement, not worse but really tired off it now. Been up since 3.30am this morning as so bunged up I couldn’t breathe..have telephone app so hope they could give me something..I think it could be a sinuses infection (I do get them often) as my forehead is hurting too.

fool11 · 19/03/2020 13:11

Spoke to a gp and she said that although she can’t for definite say it’s not a covid virus, she thinks it’s sinusitis, so gave me antibiotics for 5d, penicillin, something called amoxicillin I think..she said it’s safe in pregnancy..hope so, don’t really want to be taking antibiotics but really want to get rid off whatever it is..she said if it doesn’t improve in 2-3days I will need to be seen by someone.

41trying · 19/03/2020 13:44

Thinking of you @Fool11, get well soon

LucyLucyT · 19/03/2020 22:40

Hi @fool11 glad you've spoken to the GP. I think with covid19 the symptoms don't often include being bunged up.
Amoxicillin is thought to be safe in pregnancy so you should be fine. Hope you feel better in a couple of days.

I won't be seeing any patients, nothing face to face now, just over the phone. Which is strange but for the best!

fool11 · 20/03/2020 10:17

Hi, hope you are both well. I’m still the same, started antibiotics last night but my unfortunately my daughter is more ill, has an acute ear infection now , I think, been up all night, calpol and nuro not much working, she’s just cries it’s hurting, and had a bloody discharge from her ear. Sorry don’t mean to be moaning, had to cancel my scan today as need to take her to gp this afternoon, poor thing is really unwell. Just really overwhelmed by all this.
Hope your scan goes well today @41trying.

Both of you keep safe.

41trying · 20/03/2020 12:03

Hey!
Ih@fool11 it's just not nice especially seeing kids poorly. I hope you both start to feel better soon.
Scan went well, keep doing what I'm doing, another scan monday, hopefully EC Wed
