Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

@fool11 I'm heading in for my hcg test this morning. Feeling like it is going to have dropped. Everytime I take a pregnancy test it is lighter so trying to reconcile myself. I think a chemical pregnancy is when the embryo attempts to implant therefore produces hcg enough for a positive pregnancy test. But the hcg never doubles or dwindles away.

Mseddy · 22/11/2019 09:18

Congrats @fool11 x

fool11 · 22/11/2019 09:26

Thank you @Mseddy. Hope you are well.

Sorry to hear that @Violet180...I hope they will have some good news for you x

LucyLucyT · 22/11/2019 10:49

@Violet180 wishing you all the best, really hope things are okay still. Good luck x

I haven't repeated my test since nearly two weeks ago, almost too scared to, hoping the fact I haven't had any bleeding (but know the progesterone can delay it) or bad cramping means things are okay but no sign of nausea yet, I kind of want it to happen now for reassurance. Think I'm just going to wait until the viability scan and keep my fingers crossed.

@fool11 I did a test about 4 days after my OTD as was worried about chemical pregnancy, wanted to check the line had got stronger but I know sometimes lines can be difficult to interpret!

fool11 · 22/11/2019 11:35

Are you both still registered just with your clinic or have you informed your gp?

Violet180 · 22/11/2019 17:43

I'm out. The clinic just rang with my results and hcg dropped to 43. I have to stop all meds and wait for the bleed. I'm numb. Going home from work now.

fool11 · 22/11/2019 18:28

I’m so sorry @Violet180...look after yourself x

Mseddy · 22/11/2019 19:51

@violet180 I'm so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself Flowers

LucyLucyT · 22/11/2019 23:55

@Violet180 I'm so so sorry, not sure what to say really but I hope you and your partner can heal in time, take care of yourself xx

fool11 · 23/11/2019 19:47

Hope you are well @LucyLucyT..wanted to ask you if you contacted your gp after you tested positive or are you just in contact with you ivf clinic? When do we need to tell gp/nhs..after scan? Thank you.

Mseddy · 23/11/2019 21:19

@fool11 clearly I'm not in this position but I do know what happens. You stay in the care of your clinic until the scan, if all is good they will transfer your care back to your gp. Mine have been sending my gp letters throughout out journey so they are already in touch so to speak

fool11 · 23/11/2019 22:27

Thank you @Mseddy, that’s helpful. Hope you are ok.

LucyLucyT · 23/11/2019 23:23

@fool11 as Mseddy said I just let my clinic know, they booked me in for my early scan. I waited about 10 days or so before referring myself to the maternity service. In my area you just do this on an online form on the Trust's website. I've now got a 12 week scan date but not heard about a booking appointment from the midwife yet.
I have seen my GP but just to get laxatives and also higher dose of folic acid as my BMI has tipped back above 30 😔.
Hope you are feeling okay, I think I'm still getting side effects from OHSS on and off, ovaries hurt a bit from time to time or when I stand up suddenly.

@Mseddy hope you are doing okay and symptoms are improving xx

fool11 · 24/11/2019 08:00

I’m good, thanks @LucyLucyT...still can’t believe it, don’t want to get too excited and attached as my last pregnancy ended with finding during the scan at w11 that there is no heartbeat and had to have a surgery..being so old in pregnancy terms, my eggs are prob not good quality so a bit worried..waiting for clinic to let me knoŵ when I can have a scan, want to have it asap and also going to book w10 harmony test for chromosomal check..i’m also horribly constipated , it’s painful. Isn’t lactulose cheaper to get over a counter than on prescription? I have absolutely no pregnancy symptoms..to be honest don’t miss the nausea as with my first pregnancy it was very bad and I could barely eat first 5m...My ovaries also still hurt, especially when I’m turning in bed or do some sudden movement.

Do you know how they count pregnancy weeks? I thought that because they know the exact EC day it would be from then but looks like it’s still kind of based on last period, 2w earlier than EC day.

LucyLucyT · 24/11/2019 10:52

@fool11 with regards lactulose my GP has prescribed me a big 500ml bottle so it will work out cheaper than buying it. I'm hoping I'll get a midwife appt in the next month as well and if you get a certain form (FP57) from the pharmacy you can claim a month back from when you get you prescription exemption certificate.

For my weeks I just did an online calculator specific for IVF and went by that, should be 7 weeks tmrw.

fool11 · 24/11/2019 17:08

Thanks @LucyLucyT..didn’t know about the form and also online registration..that’s helpful.

LucyLucyT · 25/11/2019 18:05

Decided I had to do another test, couldn't wait until the scan next week and think my nerves would be off the chart. Pleased to see my line has got stronger again, feel very lucky so far as know others haven't had the outcomes they wanted but know it's still early days. Here are my series of tests, bottom one is this evening.
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

Evening all,
Sorry for those that didnt have the best outcome and congratulations to those that did.
I have gone to another clinic and start long protocol on day 21. I have only done natural short before so all of this is very new.
Could anyone tell me how long that took down reg meds for and how long after did AF arrive? As I only took meds for 5 days before, any info would help greatly

fool11 · 25/11/2019 19:41

That’s great @LucyLucyT...I think I’ll do another one this weekend as my line was not as strong and prob another 2w till scan or more..
do you take any vitamins apart from folic acid , pregnacare?

Hi @41trying..hope you are ok..I only had a short protocol so no idea how the long one works..hope all goes well for you this time x

LucyLucyT · 25/11/2019 20:21

@41trying glad you are getting started again, I have only known the short protocol as well I'm afraid. Keep us updated!

@fool11 I am taking Wilko's own brand pregnancy vitamins much cheaper and has the same contents. I'm not one for spending on branded stuff I'm afraid hehe. I've now got 5mg folic acid as my BMI is higher again.

fool11 · 26/11/2019 10:28

Hi @41trying..I got these papers from my clinic which describe sort and long protocol...hope this helps a bit (

Not sure it’s clear/big enough for you to read..

fool11 · 28/11/2019 06:25

How are you @LucyLucyT? Is your scan today?

LucyLucyT · 28/11/2019 16:48

@fool11 thanks for asking, I'm okay, scan is not until Monday, the time has been dragging on and on! I'm sort of pleased that I have had nausea for the last 3 days. No actual vomiting but definitely feeling queezy for most of the day at the mo. Otherwise just struggling with the fatigue I get in the afternoons when I'm trying to see patients in my clinics 😴
Still haven't heard from the midwife, not sure how much longer that will take.
How are you doing?

fool11 · 28/11/2019 17:08

Thought it’s today..sorry.. I‘m good, thanks (apart from constant constipation and feeling bloated and feeling like my rib cage is stretching , weird burning like feeling, not sure how to describe it)..I registered online with the nhs today and they called back but told me to have the scan first and then call them..idea was to arrange a scan with them too but they want me to have my private scan first..that will be arranged next week so will prob not know anything for another couple of weeks (had a MMC at 11w last time so a bit worried ) , it’s really dragging now, 2ww was easier compare to this ..hope all goes well for you on Monday x
