Hello everyone, it's been a couple of weeks since I stopped by.

So pleased to see these positive tests - congratulations!

My fourth cycle with letrozole was cancelled unfortunately because of a cyst. I'll go back and have a scan soon and see if it has resolved itself. Really hoping it does. I feel like I'm going backwards at the moment. Sorry to be a downer. Hopefully I can start again soon.

DobbieFreeElf · 26/09/2019 07:29

That’s frustrating @CoffeeTables, sometimes it feels like a never ending uphill battle.

AF is due for me after the weekend (on my birthday Hmm). I feel like I’ve put more pressure on this month as it’s our first round of clomid (after TTC 24 cycles) the whole thing can play havoc with your emotions

Jemstar33 · 26/09/2019 07:49

Hope you’re doing ok @CoffeeTables. Wishing you the best of luck and hoping the cyst has gone.

Marmite83 · 26/09/2019 10:26

Sorry to hear that @coffeetables

How are the jabs going @doomkittycleo?

Hope you all don't mind me checking in still every now and then even though I've moved on from Clomid. I feel a bit in limbo at the moment and you've all been so lovely and supportive, it's nice to have some people to talk to still.

doomkittycleo · 26/09/2019 10:59

@Marmite83 the injections are going ok, but DP is working away tonight so I have to do it myself tonight 😬.

I’m the same too, not on clomid anymore, but appreciate the support in this group.

CoffeeTables · 26/09/2019 11:00

Thanks everyone. It really does play havoc doesn’t it @DobbieFreeElf - wishing you the best of luck.

@Marmite83 - the limbo must be so difficult, I’m sorry. It’s good to have somewhere to come and vent.

Wishing everyone the best with whatever stage of the process they are in!

I’m having a blood test tomorrow to see if I’ve naturally ovulated and then I’ll have a scan to see what the cyst is doing. Not feeling very optimistic this week!

Chichz · 26/09/2019 11:22

Hope you all don't mind me checking in still every now and then even though I've moved on from Clomid.

I am the opposite end of the spectrum and definitely feel like a lurker! BlushGrin

Less than 2 weeks til my appointment now (can you tell I'm on countdown?!) and very much hoping to be able to join in more asap after that!

Did anyone try Letrezole (sp?) before Clomid by the way?

LaurenN23 · 26/09/2019 12:05

Guys I'm absolutely gutted, I was due to start my first round of Clomid on Monday, literally a few days away and my Dr has just called to say my prolactin blood test level has come back really high (this is my third test for prolactin) First was slightly high, second was literally just in the normal range and this one is 'very' high. I had an MRI scan to check for a prolactinoma back in June and it came back clear.

They want me to be treated for the high prolactin first before I start anything like Clomid so I have got to wait for an appt with my GP to get the meds, then another 6-8 weeks on treatment and then they will review. She said I may have to go back into the clinic for my results which could be another 9 week wait after I finish the meds.

Has anyone had any experience with this? I know in the long run it is best for me and any future pregnancy but I can't help but feel I have taken a massive step back in my journey. There's me thinking I could be pregnant next month :(

Goingbacktokansascity · 26/09/2019 12:24

@laurenN23 One of the girls I met before I had my wee boy (last infertility struggle) had high prolactin which was treated with a drug that started with c that I can’t exactly remember, as soon as that was treated she got pregnant straight away! So don’t be disheartened this might sort everything for you better than clomid would

Goingbacktokansascity · 26/09/2019 12:25

@Chichz our hospital has moved onto letrozole as first line instead of clomid!

LaurenN23 · 26/09/2019 12:34

@goingbacktokansascity that is SO reassuring to hear. They mentioned Capergoline on the phone to me so I'm guessing that it may be the same?

Do you know if she had PCOS and didn't ovulate? I'm trying to stay positive but I just feel like I've been kicked in the stomach :(

Chichz · 26/09/2019 13:08

@Goingbacktokansascity Thanks - guess it depends on the clinic, so well see if I'm offered it.

@LaurenN23 I don't know much about that yet as haven't had my bloods back, but I agree that any extra treatment should help your chances of the Clomid working. Hard I know, but we've got to try see the positives I think! X

Goingbacktokansascity · 26/09/2019 14:46

@LaurenN23
They thought she had PCOS because she had lots of follicles on her ovaries and didn’t ovulate, however once she had the cabergoline she got pregnant first month so obviously did ovulate when on that, she’s on that for life now and as far as I know she’s having regular periods now since she stopped breastfeeding so looks like she’s ovulating!

LaurenN23 · 26/09/2019 14:54

@goingbacktokansascity That's literally just what I wanted to hear. I have spent most of the day crying today thinking that it is going to be months and months before we can even get anywhere. I just really really hope that the medication works for me like it has for her! That would be a dream!

BinkyB4 · 26/09/2019 14:59

@AmyMaria2 congratulations!!! Awww I’m so happy for you!!! Fabulous news!

I’ve started spotting today so think I’m out🙁 but on the plus side the progesterone pessaries have lengthened my cycle by a few days which is positive.
Im feeling a bit low about it all but alas there isn’t a great deal I can do about it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
