Sorry for the lack of update yesterday ladies. Crazy, busy day, lots to process and my bestie has arrived for the weekend, so catching up now whilst I can 🙂 So. Let's get into it! Bit of a mixed bag yesterday with a few curve balls. 1st curve ball was logistics; because of how AF lands in November (should be the 8th) we'd be due ET on the 25th of December... yeah, during the labs 2 week shutdown 🙄 So, unless AF lands on or before the 6th of November (and, let's face it, she won't do me that favour 😏) December IVF is out 😔 Seems AF is due today for me, the nurse tried to get us into November IVF instead (which was very kind of her), but then ET would fall in November, slap bang in the middle of when we're in Italy... we're basically screwed for getting IVF this year 😔 It'll be down-regging in December and ET in January. Obviously disappointed, but at least we know where we are (and I admit to being quite pleased that we can now binge on all the good cheese, salumi and vino whilst we're in Italy now too! 🧀🍾🥂 Every cloud, right?! 😏). Second curve ball was DP's SA result from the sample he gave just before the appointment. We'd discussed a split cycle (and I said I was worried about "permeability" @CloudSway , but DP gave me a little smile because he knows that's the code name for slutty and hard-boiled, which are obviously the correct and scientific terms! 😂), which they say we can absolutely do as long as we get a minimum of 8 eggs (tentative 'yay' there then 😊), but then it turns out that based on DP's SA on the day that his numbers had shot up (they weren't bad to start with 🎈) but his forward motility was only 19% 😕 It was over 40% on his previous 2 SA's! 🤷♀️ She said that if that sample had been our EC sample then we would've had to have had purely ICSI, which I was actually quite pleased about! 😬 Not the point, of course. So the lab lady told DP that if that happens on EC day he'll have to be prepared to make the decision of the type of treatment we consent to (because I'll still be smacked off my tits on fentanyl from the EC and won't be compos mentis enough to make the decision!🤤). The colour definitely drained out of his face at that point 😳 I told him not to worry - I will have given him a one sided SOP with a decision tree on it by then! 😁😂 Third curve ball was that because we are self funded, we can choose whether or not to have 2 embryos put back in - wasn't expecting that! 😲 DP's face lit up at that one, so I think that's going to be a long discussion (at least we've got another 2 months to have it in 😏). But do you know what, after all this information, is going through my mind on a loop? ➿ The nurse mentioned that we need to bring our own pj's/nighty/dressing gown to wear to the EC (more comfortable/relaxing/whatever) and all I can think of is "what's suitable night wear for an EC?!" 🤯🤪 I either have little silky slip type nighties or a couple of comfy pj's (aka ugly and not fit for public consumption)... the first wouldn't be appropriate and the second surely wouldn't be practical?! I'm envisaging a shopping trip dedicated to finding a suitable 'EC appropriate night ware' solution... Yes, I am aware my sanity is indeed unravelling 🤪
@2fingers22018 I think more along the lines of the epic 80's favourite that is Highlander - "there can be only 1" (has to be said in Sean Connery's voice, obvs! 🏴). I'm getting excited for you!! 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀
Still keeping everything crossed for your bloods today @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
How's things looking at your end @CloudSway ?x
Sorry for the very long and me, me, me update!😳 Needed to get it all written down to help make space in my head 🤯
