@CloudSway I think my gut will win and we'll go for ICSI if we can 💉🎈🥚😉 Joking aside though, I really don't think my mental health can take it if we have a failed cycle because my eggs didn't fertilise 😔 I'm fully aware that thd odds are against me and an embie may well not implant, and I'm at peace with that... but if we don't even get as far as having embies to implant then I'll be devastated 💔 The huge cost would be insult to injury! Anyway. Enough of the doom and gloom and back to cautious optimism! 🙂

So. I came home to a letter from the clinic saying our IVF is scheduled for December and we need to ring and confirm our acceptance of the 'slot' at least a month before hand or we'll lose it (not terrifying wording at all! 😳). It was also the invoice for the IVF we will be having... Ummm, kind of wanted to discuss that next week at the treatment plan appointment! 😕 I'm hoping they can change that to ICSI if I can get my case across to them 😬 On the brightside though, the price of the IVF was £200 less than we were expecting - small win! 🤑

@BambiOnIce80 yes I did but from about day 2/3 after transfer! Nothing this morning so will see how it goes! It’s all getting real for you now! I’m sure they can sort it if you do ICSI instead

Af has arrived, had a painful night so have asked to work from home today and am dosed up on painkillers with my heat wrap. It's exactly 27 days since the mc (cd28 today) so mirroring my first mc. I'm pleased it seems to have come back to my usual (normally 24-25 days) but also sad.
Dh managed to get the bath panel off, turns out the sealant by the shower had a tiny hole so when we shower it was dripping. Think we caught it in time and no need for the plummer, just trying to dry out the patch of carpet on the landing as it went through the floorboards 😕

What have people got planned for the weekend? Hoping we're going to see Joker tomorrow.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF glad ur not as crampy today @VenusStarr i had a leak in the kitchen the other wk its stressful when it happens gd its sorted fx u dnt need a plumber.. they said the right side is looking better than the left (more follicles) im not sure about exact numbers they just said they look for follicles to be about 17 and ive got some at 10 i didnt really want to get bogged down with numbers, ive to go back on monday for another scan(providing my bloods from today were k) i suppose they shouldnt b 17 at the 1st scan but the fact the left side hasnt progressed as well is disappointing. I think the weekend might b a wash up for me ive been gettin headaches and been really tired might just go out for a meal or chill out with a boxset with my OH. Joker looks brill enjoy! i might start watching killing eve everyone talks bout it but ive never seen it lol

Finally - TFI Friday ladies!! 🎉🎉🎉 I think we will be hitting the apprentice tonight (I do love a bit of shouting at idiots on the 📺😉) and tomorrow DP is popping out to our favourite bakery for nice bread and getting mussels on his way back to cook us lunch 😋 Looking forward to a lazy weekend enjoying things that will be banned in the coming months!! 🥘🍸😭

@BambiOnIce80 yh thanx it couldve gone alot worse but tonight ive been gettin pain in my right side funnily enough fx it lets up they gave me my booster shot aswell today ive not to take it until they fone. Oh the apprentice is meant to b gd this yr they r thick sumtimes tho arent they lol

@2fingers22018 sounds like your right side is definitely pulling her weight if it's still aching, maybe it is trying to pull ahead of the left in case of a late push to avoid a photo finish!... @bambionice80 I know what you mean, I'm very good at laughing and joking about the whole thing, but if something goes wrong I'm not sure what I'll do 😕 my mental health is the best it's been in years, but there's always the worry of toppling over the edge isn't there. Great that you have a confirmation of December! 🎉🎊 I've never got on with oysters, some thing about the texture... but steak and sushi, yummmm makes me think I should appreciate it more in case I get on this cycle.

Mad couple of days, DH called our gp and after a few missed calls got him to write out our bloodwork tests, legged it in before work yesterday to pick them up, then met DH at lunch to run to the walk in blood tests at the local hospital! Called the clinic and spoke to a very chill nurse who booked us in for 1pm Monday, hopefully the bloods will be back but she will at least finish off the consent forms, show us how to inject, and hopefully order the meds! I'm not getting too excited as it can take 2 weeks for meds to arrive and I will need them on the 17th... but super exciting that we might just sneak in on time!

OMG ladies I have just had a conversation with my beautician that has absolutely validated my obsessive craziness!! 🤪 I've just had my usual female maintenance session with her and we were looking at the diary to make my next appointment in November. I was doing an awful lot of of umming and ahhhing because I'm not sure when AF will be if I'm starting the pill to down-reg soon (etc, etc), which is very unusual for me because I'm usually mega organised (and I obvs don't want to book a Brazilian when AF is in full flow! 😳). I asked her if I could change the date if I had to (I hate messing people about! 🤦‍♀️) and she said sure, but looked concerned with my weird (for me) behaviour and asked if everything was alright? I literally blurted out the whole "we're starting IVF and I'm not sure where I'll be in my cycle" thing and she was lovely and said she was the first to have IVF in our area 30 years ago!! 😯 She said that it was obvs early days then, but she was primary unexplained and her IVF cycle failed - they didn't know why at the time. She then moved to Singapore (where they were apparently more advanced with IVF at the time) and they found that although her eggs were excellent quality, they were impenetrable to sperm and she needed ICSI... she only has bloody hard boiled eggs!! 🥚 🤯 And here's me thinking I'm being more than a bit mental worrying about this apparently rare phenomenon!! She says in her opinion I should absolutely ask for ICSI given that we can't afford another cycle before I turn 40 - we really shouldn't be "putting all our eggs in one basket" by going for IVF. Her ICSI cycle baby is 28 now, by the way 😊 I'm more determined than ever now to plead my case for ICSI on Thursday and hope the clinic will be accommodating of my wishes (especially as we're flipping paying for it! 💸).

Bravo on moving heaven and earth to get both of your bloods done @CloudSway 👏 I'm keeping everything crossed that you sneak in on time 🤞🏻 Hopefully your clinic will have stock-piled the required drugs with all this Brexit bollocks going on (sorry ladies - not trying to be political! 😬). My clinic has a notice up saying they've done exactly that, so hopefully there shouldn't be a treatment supply problem at the end of the month (but it is worrying me 😥).

Oh bloody he'll I hadn't even thought about the Brexit factor!! Something new to stress over lol 😳 I'll ask the question on Monday, I'm sure they wouldn't keep lining us up with no drugs on the horizon though (I like to think!) How mad that you've happened across someone with hard boiled eggs! Its amazing what you find out when you start talking to people, when I told someone at work it turns out they have PCOS but because of a benign tumour in her brain that messes with all sorts of bits of her....

I don't think they will argue with you anyway. Ours were acting as if they were giving us terrible news that we'd need MACS ICSI because it costs a bit more, but we were just pleased we could do it, and I think yours will be the same, as long as they know you understand the cost they should be fine I reckon 👌

@CloudsSway the comparisons on here are cracking me up hehe its k i lost the plot yrs ago with all this could do with a laugh😆 gd luck with gettin in this cycle do u know if you ll b long or short protocol yet? @BambiOnIce80 im glad ur sayin all this tbh i said this to my OH ages ago what if my eggs are just unbreakable lol or if our sperm and egg just arent compatible u hear bout all the time couples ttc for yrs they split and then boom theyr all of a sudden pregnant with their new partner its scary!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. We still haven't been to the cinema... Bad news is we did need a plumber, spent yesterday in and out of b&q and the plumber is upstairs now. Turns out the cold tap has somehow come loose so when we showered the water was seeping through. Sigh.
Dh and I had a hug yesterday and a chat about how we are both struggling. It's a tiny thing but feels like it's one thing after another. Dh has promised the cinema on Tuesday 🤞

Had a massive glass of red wine and a gin last night 😊

Sadly have realised that I've really let myself go in the last few months, hardly any of my clothes fit and I'm feeling really uncomfortable. Af is nearly finished do will go swimming again tomorrow and need to eat healthier. Wish me luck 😊

@VenusStarr dnt b hard on urself ive gained weight the past couple of months its hard to not stress eat. How did the plumber get on is it sorted now? Was someone tryin to b nasty with a deleted comment?

@VenusStarr I am the same have all my clothes are tight unfortunately even with exercise and healthy eating can’t shift so must be the meds for me!!

@2fingers22108 thanks for asking convinced it hasn’t worked today! Had spotting day 3and 4 which could be implantation still having a tiny bit now and then! Boobs are sore and I feel so bloated like before af so fearing the worst and wanting to test! How are you? Xx

Not much to report until the treatment plan meeting on Thursday @2fingers22018 (where I'll be going all out to get them to let me have ICSI! 🤪). @bambiOnice80 it’s on Friday morning! So not long was hoping to hold out on testing till wed when I’ll be 7dp5dt but am contemplating doing one tomorrow which is when o got my bfp on my 1st fet but not sure! Am worried sick today!

Will the hCG trigger still be showing up on a home test at that stage @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF? I've no idea how long that lurks about for! At least Friday isn't too long to wait for the blood test, although I bet the days post ET are very similar to dog/human years - it must feel like seven to every one!!

No hcg trigger on a fet that’s only on a fresh transfer both of mine have been fets so no need to worry about that! Yes that sounds about right lol

Hi everyone, trying really hard to keep these positive pants on but they keep slipping down...

I'm leak news, it's still there, so baths only with no cold water! Fun. Plumber yesterday wasn't sure, a different plummer is coming next week! He seemed a bit more confident 🤞

In fertility news... My operation is 4th December!! I called up today. Gutted, was really hoping it would be in the next few weeks 😔 I am on a cancellation list and said I'd be ready at short notice.
Also can't budge the rmc date, but kind of thinking if I've only just had the operation in December, we will only have once chance to ttc before the appointment anyway so unlikely we'll have concieved by then. So no more ttc for us until 2020 and no answers for us 😢

That's a pain about the plumber and the rmc appointment @VenusStarr 💐 Fingers-crossed you'll get a cancellation for your op before December too 🤞🏻 I'm starting to get a bit wound up about my appointment on Thursday, to be honest I'm worrying that they won't let us go straight to ICSI, even though we're self-funding (NHS clinic). We feel so strongly about it that I'm starting to wonder if we'll cancel and go to a full-on private clinic if they won't let us do ICSI... I don't know 😣 Hopefully they'll just respect our decision making logic and allow us to do it and then the "what ifs" my inner obsessive psycho is throwing at me won't matter! 🤪

That's totally understandable @BambiOnIce80 you seem decided that icsi is for you and I would hope the clinic would respect and support that. If they don't then it probably isn't the right clinic for you, because you'll be wondering 'what if?' (if it didn't work or things you're worried about happen). It's so much money on top of the emotional and physical investment so you have to feel comfortable, confident and happy with your clinic and that they have your needs at the heart of everything :)

Just off for a swim... Decided that if I'm not ttc for 3 months then I need to look after myself properly otherwise I will go crazy. It's a good opportunity to lose some weight, whilst drinking all the wine and eating all the things I shouldn't (within reason!) 😜
