@2fingers22018 bank holiday? I’ve been at work all day? I’m quite anxious today was hoping to hear from the clinic today but I didn’t do just hoping no news is good news!
How are you? X

2fingers22018 · 30/09/2019 18:01

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 30/09/2019 18:03

Oh right lol well no bank holiday got us today!!! I use to do do mine at 7 but then I did both at night! So not sure it would make a difference what time you do them x

BambiOnIce80 · 30/09/2019 18:38

I'm up north too @2fingers22018, but our BH isn't until next week (not that it matters because I'll be working regardless 😂). Sorry you had to work anyway 💐 Very exciting that you have your new furry friend! 🐶 🤩 I hope she's starting to settle in now? My kit is fine, thanks for asking 😘 Running around like a loon, so totally normal 😊 Good luck with starting your injections 💉 🍀

Also good luck @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF and @GreyC with your ET's 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

So. We had our initial consultant appointment at the clinic today and was there for about an hour and a quarter, so I think we got our money's worth! 😄 Nothing much I wasn't expecting - just 2 noteworthy things. The consultant did my AFC and I had 5 follicles on the right and 6 on the left, so she hasn't got any concerns that my ovarian reserve will be low 😪 She (and the nurses) said that they've yet to see a low AMH come back on someone with a decent AFC, so it would seem likely that we'll be going ahead with IVF... eek!! Second point was something I'd not come across in the reading I've been doing. I mentioned we were going abroad in November (when I'll be down-regging) and I was worried about the logistics of taking the drugs/injections with me. The doctor (and nurse, later) said that they've started putting women down-regging on the pill for 2 weeks and then just need 1 or 2 injections at the end - which will be way less stressful!! That's why they've started using that regimen apparently - to limit the injections women have to take and reduce the stress of the process. Has anyone else come across this? I'm going to be asking loads of questions at our nurse appointment in 10 days time! 🤓

VenusStarr · 30/09/2019 18:55

Hey everyone 👋

@2fingers22018 did I miss you getting a pup? 🐶 Can we have a picture? Hope you're OK?

@GreyC any news on your embabies? 🤞 Hope all is well and on track for wednesday :)

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF thinking of you too, hope you're all good to go, your transfer is Wednesday too isn't it?

@BambiOnIce80 good to hear your update, great news on the afc too, eek, things are moving forward for you :) what is the next appointment for? Glad your kitten is well after his op.

@squirrelnutkins1 how was your weekend? Hope things are good with you x

Hope everyone else is OK? ❤️

Had a bit of a non starter first day back at work, couldn't get motivated in the morning so went in later, couldn't log on and spent ages back and forth on the phone to IT. A colleague popped in to say she was pleased I was back which was nice. I think it was frustration of IT issues, feeling anxious and her being kind but it set me off crying 😢 she gave me a big hug but I didn't last much longer after that. New day tomorrow. Just got back from a swim, determined to keep at it. One of my cats is rolling about on my feet, think it's the chlorine, it's like cat nip!

2fingers22018 · 30/09/2019 18:57

@BambiOnIce80 thanks glad ur kittens all mended its amazing how quick they start runnin around again isnt it? Exciting progress ive never heard of that before like u said maybe its new x so i just took my injection it was fine but the leaflet says inject into ur thigh wnt make a difference if its injected into the stomach will it? I mean its still goin into your system injections make me soo paranoid lol

2fingers22018 · 30/09/2019 19:00

@VenusStarr aww hugs like u said new day 2morro it always sets me off when ppl r nice too! Its a long hard road yh i got a new dog shes sweet but very timid..thats soo funny with the chlorine never heard of that before😂 xx

BambiOnIce80 · 30/09/2019 19:10

So sorry you had a tough start back at work @VenusStarr 💐 Tomorrow is definitely a new day ❤️ The next appointment for us is to get my AMH result, DP to have another SA, do all the consent paper work with the specialist nurse and go through the treatment plan, get phone numbers for who to call when AF arrives in November and ask a barrage of questions all around that. It's an hour and a half appointment and sounds like it needs to be! 😂 What's your next appointment?x

I'm sure you're right and the injection site won't make any difference @2fingers22018 🤞🏻 Can't hurt to give the clinic a ring tomorrow and have them put your mind at ease though.x

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 30/09/2019 20:30

@VenusStarr good to hear from you! Sorry your 1st day back was tough but like you said tomorrow is a new day! Yes my transfer is Wednesday just want to get it done!

@2fingers22018 I missed where you said you had your new pup!! I know you were looking! Did the nurse not say to you where you should do the injections? I don’t think it matters though

@BambiOnIce80 glad your moving forward!

2fingers22018 · 30/09/2019 23:10

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF yh she said under the belly button stupid leaflets tho makin me paranoid lol yh got a new dog been trouble training her but we ll get there fx

CloudSway · 01/10/2019 06:15

Great to hear the flurry of activity on here!

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF @greyc isn't it mad that somehow you are both going for it at the same time! Everything crossed for the both of you, all the luck in the world 🤞🤞

@2fingers22018 congrats on your new fur baby and well done with the injections, you'll be a pro in no time lol

@Anaesthetist83 oh god sorry to hear you were so unwell and that you are finally feeling better, onwards and upwards to the next step

@venusstarr first day back is the absolute hardest, so well done for getting it over and done with x

@squirrelnutkins1 how are you doing lovely?

@BambiOnIce80 wow, definitely got your moneys worth! Are you funded or private? Even better if so lol 💸 really interesting about the pill, I've not heard of that protocol but I have an appointment today and because our clinic is in Cambridge they think they are all cutting edge 🙄 as if I'd know the difference, so I'll ask if we start talking about down regging. Though it will prob be more focussed on OH, trying to prepare that there might be another long wait now before we get to my part.

@veeboo how are things progressing? All ok? Have you settled into it now or still shell shocked 🙂

I've been away wild camping in the lake district for the weekend. It's something I always wanted to do but wouldn't have picked the weather!! The trekking was fantastic, but 30mph winds and rain destroyed my tent at 1.30am! It was somehow the worst thing ever but also the best thing I've ever done lol. I suppose hard things outside your comfort zone are like that, but I really don't go outside my comfort zone often!

Anyway, plenty of time to think about things and think it's done me good to remember I can still achieve things even if baby things aren't going well. Still bricking it over our appointment today mind you!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 01/10/2019 06:27

@cloudsway I think @GreyC is actually today not tomorrow! Oh wow well done you for doing it!! Good luck with your appointment today let us know how you get on!

@2fingers22018 awww how lovely at least she is keeping you busy!! I think either or seems to be ok but o never tried thigh just stuck to where I was shown and where o could manage lol

BambiOnIce80 · 01/10/2019 08:04

I am in awe @CloudSway! 😲 Bloody well done on the wild camping achievement! 👏 And good luck for your appointment today 🍀 We've gone NHS self-funded, so very pleased with getting our moneys worth out of the appointment 🤑 We're north of the border though, so who knows whether Cambridge will do the same down-regging (or any other clinic, for that matter! So bloody variable!) 🤷‍♀️ I'd love to hear what your clinics thoughts on it are, if you do get the chance to ask.x

2fingers22018 · 01/10/2019 12:43

@CloudsSway gd luck with ur appt glad ur camping went well sounds exciting i love camping!

2fingers22018 · 01/10/2019 12:44

@GreyC got everything crossed for u today good luck!💪❤🍀

GreyC · 01/10/2019 13:02

One ‘great quality; lovely looking’ blastocyst Implanted. Unfortunately my other stalled and won’t make it. They grade them but don’t tell clients as it stresses people out as all blasts have potential for pregnancy all I know it was A-C. And she said everything looks great. Can’t believe it. So excited and just had my acupuncture and fell asleep. Off for lunch now with DP. Have a get eat feeling about my embaby

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 01/10/2019 13:30

Congrats on being pupo @greyc! When is test day?

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 01/10/2019 13:45

So just spoke to the clinic unfortunately one of my little embabies didn’t male the thaw and high is sad but my other one has and Is looking good for making blastocyst tomorrow they have pushed back my transfer time to 1 though which is s bit of a pain but hey ho!

VenusStarr · 01/10/2019 13:55

Great news @GreyC wishing you all the luck 🤞 🤞 🤞 enjoy your lunch with dh. Are you off work during your tww?

I'm sorry to hear that @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF glad to hear that you're still on schedule for tomorrow :) are you staying off during your tww?

Slightly better day today, just parked up for my swim. Managed to forget to take my lunch today, so hoping it will make me swim faster knowing its at home in the fridge :)

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 01/10/2019 14:35

@venusStarr glad you’ve had a slightly better day!! No I’ll be back to work on Thursday don’t see the point in sitting around at home gives me more time to worry and panic I’d rather keep busy and carry on as normal well apart from the gym which I’m disappointed about but needs much and will just be taking it easy on the evenings and over the weekend xx

CloudSway · 01/10/2019 21:26

@greyC great news, couldn't ask for a better description for a little blastocyst! Congratulations! Everything crossed!

@finallytakingtheplungewithivf good luck with your transfer tomorrow, positive vibes for your good looking blastocyst 😊 good for you going to work, i think it makes sense to distract yourself if that's what's best for you 👍

@bambionice80 we are using what used to be nhs but they took away the funding so the same place is there but they just charge basic prices which is good. I'm so sorry I forgot to ask about the pill in my excitement, will be speaking to a nurse in a couple of days so will ask then though.

Absolutely delighted because consultant was very serious but then said the 0% mobility was because there wasn't enough so they didn't test it, it's still very low quality but with dna fragmentation we can do MACS ICSI to get the few good sperm we need to have a go! As she said, if all we get is 6 eggs, they only need 6 good sperm which she's sure can be done using this method. We honestly thought this was it for DH so am over the moon that we get to try!

I'm on cd5 and she got excited thinking we could get in by cd21 to start long protocol, but j feel that's overly optimistic when meds/blood tests/appointments tend to take forever to happen. But how fab if we do! Not even nervous right now, just excited 😁

BambiOnIce80 · 02/10/2019 07:41

Ooooh, that's a fab update @CloudSway! 😍 Very exciting times for you in the very foreseeable future! 🤩 I found myself to feel massively relieved after our appointment on Monday that our journey wasn't over yet - I wasn't sure how I was going to feel, so relief was a welcome surprise 😄 I'm sure 💩 will get more real for us at the nurse/treatment plan appointment next Thursday (I'll probably be bricking it then!). You and I might be on a similar time line by the sounds of things 🙂

Great news on the super quality blastocyst @GreyC! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you for your TWW 🤞🏻

Good luck with your ET today @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF 🍀

So glad you had a better day @VenusStarr - one step at a time ❤️

How are the injections going @2fingers22018?x

VenusStarr · 02/10/2019 07:44

@CloudSway that's great news 😊 exciting, hope you do start this cycle.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF thinking of you today, hope all goes smoothly and then you'll be pupo :)

@GreyC hope you're ok today.

@2fingers22018 hope you're having fun with your pup's training

@squirrelnutkins1 How's things with you?

I've got my pre-op this afternoon, hoping I might find out a bit more of when to expect the surgery. Going to jot a few questions down too. No sign of our rmc clinic date, think the secretary is on holiday as keep getting her answerphone.

Have a good day xx
