@impatientmammy I’m sure they won’t but if your not sure about something on the forms then best just to check with them when you go so your happy it’s stressful enough with out worrying about forms aswell!
I had acupuncture many years ago for a back problem but not for fertility I’ve really struggled to find some one close by who can fit me in but am glad I’m now booked on to see how it does even if it just helps with the stress.

I’m with you with the hot flushes @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF. Luckily there are not too bad but DP is sleeping in freezing cold temperatures haha

@impatientmammy sounds like a plan. I found my first appointment very reassuring. Dont be afraid to take a list of questions, I took mine in my phone.

Morning all still feeling crap I think it must be the buserelin am weepy my headache is still here my ears are ringing and I didn’t sleep well either! Don’t remember it being this bad before!!

@VenusStarr hope ur k 💜 @squirrelnutkins1 my oh is alrite and we ve not been bickering as much but its on the day of my appts i can feel myself gettin stressed over the stupidiest of things and taking it out on him i know its not fair but its stressful! The other day he was complainin about gettin up early on his day off to go to the appt and i get it(he works ALOT of hrs) but i went off on him big time "try gettin everything done that i need done then show me stress" lol guys do have it easier they have the stress of everything not workin but none of the invasive procedures @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF hope u feel better x

Thank you @2fingers22018 it's over 💔 I'm OK just feeling a bit fragile physically and emotionally. Got an appointment with the fertility doctor this week and a scan on Friday which will hopefully confirm. Trying to see the positive in that my body can sustain pregnancy but something isn't working with our sperm and eggs as they aren't making it past 5 weeks, so hopefully the fertility team can use that to decide on how best to help us.

@VenusStarr dnt be silly you dnt need to apologise..im soo sorry that this has happened to you again its soo cruel i hope you and ur OH are gettin all the support you need and i hope you get some answers from the fertility team x

@squirrelnutkins1, I've got a slightly stranger experience of the TTC stress dynamic because I've been trying across 2 different relationships! 😳 It has shown me though that it really does depend on the guy as to how they react to the stress of it and how/if it effects our relationship. Both XH and DP struggled with, ahem, performance issues if I told them when it was FW (even though they asked to be told 🙄), but the XH took that issue way worse than DP. My arm chair psychiatrist opinion is that the XH had self esteem issues he was trying to hide (beta male trying to pull off being an alpha), so he took it as a 'blot on his manhood' that he couldn't 'get me pregnant' - total bollocks of course, but it really did some damage to his mental health. DP, however, is Italian so his ego is roughly the size of Jupiter and even occasional performance issues couldn't put a dent in it! 😂 That said, I think my bad experience with the XH has meant I don't talk about TTC with DP as much as I'd maybe like to. I just limit myself to periodically making sure we're definitely on the same page with all the TTC/IVF stuff and then have you guys for all my other neurotic TTC ramblings! 🤪

Talking of (😉) - can I ask any tempers how many days you typically have of the temp drop before AF arrives? For me it's always been a maximum of a day and a half before AF shows up, but I think I'm having a cycle where my body is messing with me 😞 AF isn't due until Friday (perfectly regular 28 day cycles except for a crazy short one in January when I'd suffered a bereavement), but my temp dropped yesterday and today (no AF yet) which would mean this cycle might only by 23/24 days. I have got a toppy prolactin and work has been even more stressful than normal this month, but I really need my cycles starting to mess me around like I need a hole in the head right now! 😭

@BambiOnIce80 thankyou! Yes feeling better just exhausted and went to see my new nephew and i am so in love with him he is beautiful so am strangely over my anxiety and stress over how I’d feel about seeing him

Hello, hope you dont mind me jumping in,
I have started a new thread but not sure its in the right place so havent had any replies,
Me and my partner have been ttc for 20 months with no success at all, my partner had a sperm test in june and it all came back normal which is great!
I saw my doctor last week and she has requested I have blood tests on day 2 - 5 and day 21-28 she has also sent for me to have an internal pelvic ultrasound but she didnt explain what happens after that?
Do you have any advice please?

We re all at different stages here im waiting to start ivf nxt wk fx id say it depends on what ur blood tests say if u dnt ovulate then u can get meds to help if you do ovulate then the scan will look into blockages in your fallopian tubes x

Hi all, just checking in, I can see it's been pretty quiet. Before I read through all, I hope everything is going if not well then manageable for everyone!

I'm just driving myself pretty much mad twiddling my thumbs waiting for DHs latest test results - reminder since I know we all start mixing our stories together, he had low everything on his first test, then slightly higher count but poor morphology and they did a test measuring oxidative stress which was poor. Suggested 3 months diet and lifestyle change which he has knocked out of the park so I'm really really hoping there's been some positive response or he'll feel like he did it for nothing I think.... Gave the sample on Friday and still haven't heard... I know it's long but I'm going crazy. If it's not good, they will do DNA fragmentation, which will take even longer, and I just want to start pumping myself full of drugs and feeling miserable so I can get an answer before Christmas and another crappy year!

... aaand chill lol. God the waiting is the worst.

@soph1954 sorry to start off with that, welcome! Ha, this is a super friendly group so you're very welcome. I'm not that helpful with your next steps as you can see it's mostly male factor for us, but I did have those bloods and then an internal ultrasound. I wasn't found to have any blockages except a dodgy cyst, so I then started shopping for ivf clinics. If there's blockages there's something they can do about that. Do they offer ivf on the nhs where you are? That seems to affect what happens next 🙂

Hi everyone 👋 I'm just back from our follow up fertility appointment and feeling quite hopeful. I'm being rebooked for the hysteroscopy but under general anesthetic this time 🙏 there's one fibroid the consultant definitely wants to get out. We're also being referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic, which I'm really pleased about (sounds odd but hope you know what I mean!) hoping to get some additional tests which can hopefully help us know why we lost our two babies at the same stage and hopefully stop it happening again. He's happy for us to continue ttc when we're ready. Feeling quite positive and hopeful today.

Welcome @Soph1954, I had my tests last year then we got referred to the fertility clinic at the hospital. I've found my GP doesn't really comment on fertility stuff, he likes to leave it to the experts! It took a few months for our first appointment to come through. I've since had another ultrasound, hsg (dye in tubes test) and was due to have a hysteroscopy (camera in uterus plus removal of fibroids / polyps if necessary). It does depend on what your bloods throw up. I did find I had to pester my GP, he was doing things at his own pace! But everything fertility related takes time, so keep going :)

This time round it's more the physical side that's bothering me, emotionally I'm OK (but dh is struggling 💔 and that breaks my heart) but it also might be because I'm not really allowing myself to think about it, feels quite overwhelming 💜 with regards to temping, how's it looking now? If it was a bit early, has it gone back up? When's your appointment?

@CloudSway @VenusStarr - Thank you!! although we have been trying for a long time, I'm very new to all this If that makes sense 🙈 It was my first appointment with a doctor last week and all the information I was given was that I needed 2 blood tests and an ultra sound I think I had a trainee doctor as she kept running back and forth too another doctor to ask for information.

I dont know If they offer NHS treatment, I would presume so? But I'm not 100% sure.
I'm due to have a blood test tomorrow so hopefully I can ask a few more questions!

@Soph1954 welcome! The gp has to do a whole battery of tests before things can progress any further so altho you're at step one it's a good step to have taken 👍🏻 like has been mentioned, we're all at different stages....
We've been ttc for 24 months. I've just finished my last lot of ovulation stimulants and we're in the fertile window so lots of dtd. I've got an appt with the fertility team to make a plan of what's next next week, I think it'll be IUI. But here's hoping we don't have to go to that 🙏🏻

Work update for you lol!
I had it out with that woman at work today! She basically accused me of tattling on her to management and instigating the meeting where she was told she wasn't pulling her weight. She said I'm spiteful amongst other things!!!!!!!
After a half an hour discussion/argument I think she finally believes me that I didn't do it. I told her she's making an atmosphere in the office and her issues don't lie with me so don't take it out on me!
I didn't get an apology but she seemed to soften so here's hoping we can move on!

@VenusStarr I hate confrontation but it was really affecting the rest of the team. I was quite pleased with myself after 🙊💪🏻

I have started my Gonal F now. Max dose of 450 so come on little follicles grow grow grow! (But not too many or silly cysts! Have sent them a crazy worrying email as I’m not being scanned for ten days and I’m panicking they will miss something or something if I go that long before being seen! So irrational. These hormones

Thanks guys. Still no results and it was only 2 days before results last time. Called and said that, they said they'd call back today or tomorrow... argh! @squirrelnutkins1 yes he has really blown me away with how seriously he's taken it, he doesn't talk overly passionately about the situation (stereotypically male) but I can tell how much it means from his determination dieting, I've never seen him stick to a diet longer than a few weeks before :)

@greyC everything crossed for your little follicles! I can understand your worry and I'm sure they will too, after they go through all the scary scenarios! But I'm sure they will be all over it, they should know their stuff :) did you have down reg drugs? If so, can I ask how long for?

@bambionice80 Is your temp still crazy? I know almost nothing about temping, do you find it quite reliable? Mind you I only started the opks recently, they give me enough to obsess over lol, not sure I should open another can of worms.... hope work is less stressful for you now?

Speaking of which, well done @squirrelnutkins1 for having it out with that woman at work! I'm like you super anti confrontation but sometimes it's in everyone's interest to get to the bottom of it, hope you feel much better for talking about it too x

@venusstarr so glad you are feeling positive, when do you go to the miscarriage clinic? Remember you are still entitled to feel like shit sometimes... having said that you blow me away how strong you've been. Everyone on here is a genuine inspiration to me on the strength front xx

@cloudsway I started the 23rd August on buserelin for down reg. and my scan was yesterday and my lining was nice and thin so started my stims today - hence the completely irrational side of me 🙈
