@impatientmammy yes it was since we started this iteration of the thread actually. We were due to start IUI in september. We had been told in March we could have it but we decided to give it 6 months to get healthy and also I've shared on here before that my DP had some issues doing the deed so that was a factor for us. Happy to answer any questions.

squirrelnutkins1 · 05/09/2019 17:53

@2fingers22018 thanks hun, appreciate it 💕

@impatientmammy welcome! This is a super lovely and supportive thread 👍🏻

@veeboo do let us know how you go tomorrow. Wishing you all the very best x

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF happy injecting! (That sounds weird sorry 🤣)

I'm cd10 today so we're gonna try dtd like crazy as it's our last shot. Got a clinic appt in a week and a half. I didn't ring up to change it even tho it's in the tww, didn't see any point really, I'll be glad to have a plan in place but hopefully won't need it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 had a few cross words last night, my fault really for getting frustrated with ttc but then made up quickly Wink how's everyone coping with this, in terms of how are you and your OHs managing? I know I've asked before but we're all further along now aren't we and sometimes frustrations rise!

@squirrelnutkins1 me and my DP argued all the time. Especially with the ED issues. It was a nightmare. Took a lot of talking to get through. You sound really positive about this cycle but good plan to keep the appointment then I reckon so if it doesn't work you can focus straight on the next step. Good luck!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 05/09/2019 18:00

@veeboo wow 8 weeks scan already that’s gone so quick!

@squirrelnutkins1 lol I think once I get the first one out the way it will be fine! Am very excited about it all at the mo (even though I know I shouldn’t) fingers crossed for you hope you get loads of dtd done!!

I am back to the gym today and am eating healthy and now no more drinking (only have a few at the weekend but none of that now) going to try for that half a stone to get me back to pre ICSI treatment xx

impatientmammy · 05/09/2019 18:06

It's amazing that you managed naturally@veboo. I hope your scan goes well. I really feel like it's not going to happen naturally for us we both have a healthy bmi my cycles are fairly regular there's no reason I should be pregnant already. I'm sure a lot of people feel that way though. Thank you if I think of any questions I'll let you know x

impatientmammy · 05/09/2019 18:10

Thank you @squirrelnutkins1 I hope this is your lucky cycle x

GreyC · 05/09/2019 19:35

Getting on ok everyone - thanks for asking after me. Trying to minimise the Googling and sometimes seeing other people posts on other threads makes me feel anxious so I limit myself. Getting some warm moments and then some pain on my stomach as one side is more sore than the next but nothing to complain about to be honest. Scan on Tuesday to see if I’ve down regulated then start stims. Nervous for eggs collection but my mum is coming with me so that’s nice as my other half will be doing his job at the same time and I didn’t want to be on my own.
I’m praying that it’s a successful cycle! Trying to stay relaxed and enjoy myself and eating biscuits etc as I think if I’m relaxed then my body will be. Having acupuncture still and I love it!

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/09/2019 12:22

I'm def trying to be positive. I'm just trying to do what I can to move things along in other aspects of life. I'm at the gym regularly and doing slimming world loosely... ie being good in the week following the principles and then cutting myself some slack over the weekend. I only drink when I get AF as well. I've lost 11lb and I'm happy with what the scales say so just trying to maintain now. Thinking of you today @veeboo

well done with your gym-ing and getting back to where you want to be 👍🏻@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

@impatientmammy thank you! X

@GreyC glad to hear your update and glad you've got your mums support 👍🏻 I think it's def a good idea to step away from google at times!! X

@squirrelnutkins1 wow well done you on the weight loss that’s great!! I have been good all week but did drink a fair bit last weekend so haven’t lost anything this week 😂 me and dh always have a weigh in on a Friday morning! I did thinking about slimming world again but trying to cut down on the carbs! And have more protein also still drinking my full fat milk which i actually really like! Trying to be more positive have felt a bit negative about it all but now I’ve started my injections think I need to get my ass in to gear and be calm and as relaxed and as healthy as possible with out putting to much pressure on myself! First injection was fine just like old times but I am suffering with the initial injection headache which is a bit of pain meds!

Hope everyone else is ok! Xx

veeboo · 06/09/2019 13:43

@Squirrelnutkins1 good work! You are definitely doing all you can and great that it makes you feel good. @GreyC good to hear your update. Fx for you.
@finallytakingtheplungewithivf hope the headaches go. They sound uncomfortable

So we had our private 8 week scan today and saw the heartbeat and measuring as expected. It was lovely but that's all I'll say about it now :)

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/09/2019 14:05

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF we're still on the full fat milk too. OH is sooo pleased about it!! Ive given it a few weeks to see if it affects my weight and so far it doesn't seem to have so I think I'll stick with it for a bit.
I like SW cus you can eat pretty much whatever you want. I just don't like the amount of sugar you're allowed so I make sure I don't have too much.
Hope the headaches ease soon! its def hard to keep calm and trying to 'relax' isn't it! I'm having reflexology again today. It's just sooooo relaxing!l so hopefully that'll put us in good stead for the weekend of dtd!! Lol.

@veeboo that's such great news. So happy for you 😊🥳 xx

Thanks guys; I’m feeling abit rubbish tonight but that’s ok. We have had a curry 🙈 such a treat but it was so delicious and worth it. We have been crazy healthy with veg and protein and full fat milk plus nuts and bloody seeds etc I thought I deserved a treat! Back to the veggies tomorrow

impatientmammy · 06/09/2019 22:03

Do they advise a particular diet for ivf? i exercise pretty regularly but I've really relaxed on my diet lately x

veeboo · 07/09/2019 05:47

Hi @inpatientmammy I think a clean meditteranean diet if possible is advised. I've read the book 'it starts with the egg' and there is a lot in there about preparing for IVF. The research says the 3 months before is most helpful.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 07/09/2019 05:57

@veeboo congratulations on the scan so pleased for you!

So I am a bit upset my sil was pregnant and had the baby last night I’m so pleased for her but upset for myself hence me being up so early Sad

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 07/09/2019 06:09

@impatientmammy @veeboo re diet I think s lot of people are advised to eat a high protein low carb diet I certainly was and looking at the Mediterranean diet that seems to be a low intake of meat and dairy and includes carbs! I’ve also taken the advise of someone else on drinking full fat milk as we are all obsessed with diets and diet food our bodies don’t get enough ‘good fats’ I also eat full fat mayo and proper butter as these are good fats in moderation!

veeboo · 07/09/2019 06:38

Hi @finallytakingtheplungewithivf I'm sorry you're feeling rubbish. It is hard to see others happy when you want it so badly. Are you doing anything nice this weekend?
I think you're right about diet. what I read seemed to encourage the same rather than carb heavy. So the colourful side of mediterranean diet... Lots of protein, seeds, pulses, less and 'healthier carbs' and varied veg. More veg than fruit to control blood sugar.

veeboo · 07/09/2019 07:42

Ooh I also did the full fat milk. Got few strange looks at work!

impatientmammy · 07/09/2019 11:16

Thank you. I have focused on diet in the past with ttc but then I gave up hope and needed a break. I think I'll look into the medeteranian diet but add full fat milk and decaf tea to keep me sane 😂
Sorry your feeling that way @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF it can be soo hard I typed about ten diferent sentences here to try and help you feel better but I think it's impirtant to just feel the feels it's a long journey hopefully with a positive ending though. Sending love xx

impatientmammy · 07/09/2019 15:34

Sorry to post again looking at paperwork for initial consultation and what exactly is regular cycles? Fertility friend says I have 76% regularity on my cycles from two years of tracking. The dates it gives me are a solid guide but I can't be sure af will always start on the 27th day each cycle. Don't know which box to tick. Any ideas? X

veeboo · 07/09/2019 16:36

Hi @impatientmammy. How much do they vary? Mine went from 27-33 days and were classed as regular. When I had a 59 day and 40 day cycle though they were classed as irregular but were one offs. Have they asked you if you're regular? Seems like an odd thing to ask you to determine yourself but others might have experience of this.

impatientmammy · 07/09/2019 17:25

@veeboo between 24 and 34 days but it's mainly 25-27 with a couple of outliers it's just part of the questionnaire I do before I go I assume they'll ask further but I don't want to get it wrong incase they don't and just take my word for it if that makes sense x

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 07/09/2019 19:07

@impatientmammy daft question but can’t you just leave that one till you go for your consultation and ask them? Smile

So i had a bit of a meltdown at dh felt a bit emotional and overwhelmed about everything! Hot flushes seem to be kicking in already aswell! On a more possible note I have just booked in to have some fertility acupuncture which I am looking forward to and feels like I’m doing something!!

Could do with a good nights sleep 😴

So I

impatientmammy · 07/09/2019 20:17

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF that's a good idea I wouldn't want them to make and decisions based on false information I'd supplied.
Hope the acupuncture helps have you done it before? X
