@Welshpugmomma we've not had anyone weigh her in weeks now but I've been trying to do it myself and she's around 15lb five or take. Do you know what Josiah weighs?

We've just ordered a baby monitor so I think I'm going to try and start putting her down for daytime naps in her cot in her bedroom. Although it does make me a bit nervous. I think it would be good to get her used to it. Plus at the moment we are using the carrycot on the pram for naps and she's pretty much grown out of that now!

@zest11 tbh I'm just being chilled about it and figure it will sort out eventually. Although on the nights she isn't easy it really takes its toll as I'm not used to it.

KittyKatSmile · 12/06/2020 12:32

Just to be very clear, I've managed all this knitting by not doing very much pre-baby when I was 'working from home'!! Also having no commute (or just from dining table to sofa) freed me up considerably for knitting! I did all of your cardigans before the little ones were born and have done nearly nothing since! Although dorkily I have just worked out how to breastfeed hands-free so I can now knit during feeds!!

That's not dorky @KittyKatSmile - that's just smart!!
Plus you are very talented with your knitting

KittyKatSmile · 16/06/2020 19:40

@Mrbay how are you feeling? Hope things are going well.

Ladies - it's a year today since my Tiny Dancer was put back in me (and the doctor said what a gorgeous embryo I had, ha ha) and today she's just rolled over!! I'm feeling so happy. Hope you're all well lovely ladies. I'm so pleased to have had you all with me on this 'journeeeeey' x

@KittyKatSmile happy embryo anniversary! Ours is 26th June! I doubt my lazy bugger will roll. She's done it once but probably a fluke. She's only just stopped crying during tummy time and actually lifted up herself head!

I got a baby monitor at the weekend and I know you should always be with them whilst sleeping for 6 month but I've started having a couple of hours downstairs when she's gone to bed just tidying and cleaning etc and just chilling watching tv! It feels so good to have that time and I feel like me again.

So my maternity/lockdown hobby is going to be making clothes for Georgie. I can sew a cushion cover, piping and zips. That's it. And it's never perfect. I've bought a pattern and some jersey fabric before realising jersey is difficult to sew 🤦🏼‍♀️ wish me luck and I will keep you all updated with my makes! I hope I can do it as I've a whole list of patterns and fabrics I want to do! If I can master it I will probably spend my evening 'me time' doing a bit of sewing. It's a shame I can't see my Nan during lockdown as she's an amazing sewer.

Zest11 · 17/06/2020 09:20

@Cauliflower82 I think we have everything we need - or we are as ready as we will ever be! I keep eating my hospital bag snacks though!
@Welshpugmomma I bet when you tell your family and friends you're coming back, they will be thrilled. Yes I suppose, even though they are big, they will still be fairly fragile. What monitor do you have? We haven't got one but one that can tell about blankets etc might be good to get!
@KittyKatSmile Ahh happy 1 year anniversary to Tiny Dancer. So so happy for you. I remember a year ago we were all watching Love Island to pass the time!
@Ginandtonic31 And the same to you - happy impending 1 year anniversary. Ahh I love to read your updates and how you still manage to have 'me' time. I really hope that after the first few months I can still do a few things for myself too.

Did anyone get more anxious leading up to the birth? I hadn't really thought about it seriously (obviously know about all the different types) but as it's getting nearer I'm honestly thinking "what if something bad happens to him on his way out?" :( I know the hospital staff will know what they're doing but I can't help but worry after coming this far!

Ginandtonic31 · 17/06/2020 09:44

@Zest11 I didn't on the lead up as I was really positive after hypnobirthing. But when my waters went I sat and cried as it hit me it was happening and I didn't want to do it!!

Mrbay · 17/06/2020 10:27

@KittyKatSmile - I can't say I feel overly different, havent had massive mood swings like last time so that's a bonus!
Happy Emboversary!

@Ginandtonic31 - there's a great facebook group for sewing and the peeps on there are full of knowledge and always ready to help! its called Sewing in the UK. Or have a look at Tilly and the Buttons, she does online sew along classes.

Ginandtonic31 · 17/06/2020 11:08

@Mrbay I joined the group yesterday! Already learnt loads! I spent last night watching YouTube videos when bambino was in bed so I'm hoping I can tackle the first pattern I've bought. Stupidly trying jersey first though 🙄 we shall see. I will update you with my progress!

Are you a sewer?

Welshpugmomma · 17/06/2020 12:38

@mrbay sorry to make that assumption you free lady ;) I imagine it can be a bit clicky with other wives ? That's handy for your hubs to be near base too :) glad stims treating you well 👍 you're sounding so positive... long may it last!

@KittyKatSmile wow hands free bf! Tell me more would love to gain my hands back for that short time ... wow a year already isn't it crazy how much you can achieve in a year and how life can almost seem upside down to what we knew then! I'm same as @gins date and I just in awe that we got our little miracle.

@ginandtonic31 same here no official weigh in this week he was 14.4lb still so no gain , Georgia's overtaken us- more to cuddle :) jealous of you embarking on new hobby I'd love to find something but I just haven't figured it out yet !

@zest11 forgive I'm sure you've said before but what is your dd? Just normal jitters hun of course there's the element of nerves but just have faith in your delivery team and know even if things seem scary at the time you will get through, I perhaps naively never considered what if nicu was required- I wish I had at least spared a thought to it as it was a big surprise and hard to get my head around, not to scare you but I'm one of those who likes to think I had thought of most things!

No rolling here yet just more interested in being on his feet at all times lol... even bored of tummy time now! had a bit of sleep regression the last 4 nights but last night seemed slightly better with him settling himself with dummy/hand. Fingers crossed as he had been doing amazing upto now!

Mrbay · 17/06/2020 13:13

@Ginandtonic31 - I'm a wishful sewer - I think I'll do some, I get all the stuff and then wish for the perfect day to start!!! There's a lady on their who makes some lovely dresses in African fabric, I am so jealous of her skill!!

@welshpugmomma - oh don't be sorry. sometimes I wish I lived on camp, then at least I would have decent stables and lot less running costs for a house!!

I can't say I'm not glad for having my full night's sleep!!

Zest11 · 21/06/2020 12:38

@Ginandtonic31 Ahh I really appreciate your honesty but I love now how you sound so happy with everything. How is the sewing?

@Welshpugmomma I'm due early July but he's not engaged so I think we're looking at a late baby. I don't think I realised Josiah was in NICU. Why was that? I can imagine it being hard to get your head around as the (mistaken) belief is that it's only premature babies that go there. We have decided if ours needs to go there my husband will go there and leave me. Hard decision!

@Mrbay How are things going? Have you had any scans yet? A date for EC? I hope all is going smoothly for you.

Ginandtonic31 · 21/06/2020 14:04

@Mrbay this sounds like me. I waste so much money buying stuff then either don't do it or realise I can't and mess it up! I've changed my mind and decided to start with some little cotton bloomer shorts! Probably next weekend when I've got everything!

Mrbay · 21/06/2020 21:13

@zest11 - are you all ready for the birth? Well as much as you can be.

I've done the trigger tonight, always a nervous moment. Nothing more I can do now to change the outcome, I'm blugh about it all, not excited more ready for it all to be over on Tuesday with no eggs. I've got more follicles than last time but it means nothing until I get the call on day 1 to let me know what they've done overnight

@Ginandtonic31 - I had a positive weekend, actually did the ikea flat pack we got on Thursday night and hung the curtain rail (that has been in the cupboard for the past year!)

Bloomer shorts sound so cute!! Everyone always says to use duvets as they are so cheap for cotton fabric

Ginandtonic31 · 22/06/2020 08:08

@Mrbay yes I've seen the bee duvet people have used! I ended up buying some fabric that was cheap so will see how it goes. Might get the duvet next.

Well done getting this far. And good luck! My two rounds were world's apart so be positive. I'm really pleased you've stuck around to share your journey.

Mrbay · 22/06/2020 14:43

@Ginandtonic31 - oh I've just Googled bee duvet and Asda have a lovely one, I'm tempted to buy just to make it into a top!

Oh I thought you had only done the one, I'm back to my realistic ways so anything positive is a bonus!

Ginandtonic31 · 22/06/2020 17:47

@Mrbay that's the one. I could make Georgie about 25 things from it 😂

Mrbay · 22/06/2020 18:29

@ginandtonic31 - it is so lush!

Can't wait to see your makes!

Zest11 · 22/06/2020 20:42

Just hopping on to wish you the best of luck for tomorrow @Mrbay! I remember those feelings in anticipation of the phone calls. Thinking of you over the next few days.

And yes, I think we're as ready as we will ever be!

KittyKatSmile · 22/06/2020 22:15

@Mrbay adding my best wishes. Got everything crossed for you xx

OP posts:
Mrbay · 22/06/2020 22:19

Thank you!

I'll let you know on Wednesday what the result is, oh check me out being more positive that there's something in the damaged girls!

@Zest11 - My friend feels like that, I went shopping for her last bits and then I saw her nursery - how can a 7lb human need so much stuff??!

Mrbay · 24/06/2020 09:01

Just a quick update, only two eggs yesterday but positive update this morning as both have ferterlized!

KittyKatSmile · 24/06/2020 12:45

@Mrbay brilliant! Do they wait and see tomorrow or have they called you to go in for day 2? (Or don't answer of course; that was very personal). Fingers crossed. It's a funny old waiting game isn't it xx

OP posts:
Mrbay · 24/06/2020 13:28

@KittyKatSmile - Oh not too personal at all!
They are going to check them tomorrow and if there's a front runner he'll go back in on day 3. But it's all ifs and maybes, just taking each day as it comes.
Slightly disappointed that I only got two but it's quality over quantity.
Just need to hope one of these two will take and my fibroid doesn't cause an issue

KittyKatSmile · 24/06/2020 13:56

@Mrbay I'll wheel out another one of my old favourites especially for you: 'it only takes one'...

Remember my best friend? I think she only got one egg and he is celebrating her 40th birthday with her today x
