New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@Hopingforbabyd So sorry you are out this cycle too. I am totally with you on the coffee thing! Having just got off the phone to the clinic with the bad news, I'm heading for the machine right now - oh how I have missed my lovely strong double espressos :-)

Hi guys,
So had results of the first beta hcg.
It’s a good figure (didn’t ask exact number)... consultant said that level was suggestive of twins....
So looks like it was a bleed last week.
I’m a bit stunned.....

@Hopingforbabyd I'm so sorry hun, we were all rooting for you- there always a next time- hopefully they can use this cycle to gain more knowledge about your body and make the appropriate adjustments next time. lots of love to you and looking forward to seeing you back.

Went in for my scan today, it's day 15 of stims and they want me to carry on for two more days! :( my tummy is so sore from the injections!!!has anyone got any tips??

I think egg collection is going to be on Friday now.. only had one decent follicle growing but today showed a few more that have popped up so hopefully we will have more of a chance...

@pleaseletitbeme that sounds so awesome!! you must be feeling so excited!!!!(/stunned) haha!

I'll be getting ready for a trigger shot hopefully tomorrow or Thursday evening eek! any advice on taking Ovitrelle as a trigger? Has anyone done this and if so, is it just straight forward with the same size needle?

@phreedam I did ovitrelle! It's preloaded so you just need to get the air out, I think the needle is a little bigger but I always ice the area first. Good luck 😊

Thank you for all your kind words ladies 😊 I’ve spoken to the clinic and they’re happy for us to go ahead and try again on my next cycle so will be starting up again end of June. Also spoken to a company which they partner with called Access Fertility they allow us to pay a package price for unlimited rounds of ICSI which we are very fortunate to be able to afford to move ahead with straight away. It was wedding funds but I think we have our priorities in order 😉 wishing all who are triggering shortly lots of luck it flys by so quickly! X

@hopingforbabyd I’m glad you have a plan-it makes you feel so much better when you know what you are aiming for. I hope you can also give yourself a decent few weeks off enjoying whatever food and drink you want before gearing up for number two. Will you be doing fresh or frozen?

I’m now on day 7 of buserelin and finished norethisterone two days ago sohoping I get my period tomo ready then start estrogen for my FET. Had bad cramps all day so I guess that’s a side effect.

@DaisyMay25 awesome that sounds pretty easy then, hope the needle isn't too much bigger! It can't be as bad as the Fyremadel that's so thick :(

Today I found a place on my belly that I injected both menopur and gonal f into and didn't feel I thing. I couldn't stop going on about it haha! The little things! After 18 days of injections it was exciting lol!!

@Hopingforbabyd that sounds great, I couldn't think of anything better than keeping positive and going for it again, all the best my lovely!

@mouse1234567 we will be doing fresh which I am excited about as hopefully they’ll come up with a new treatment plan to support me a little better during the tww. It seems my body thought “hold up?! We’re supposed to be having a period what on earth are you doing here?!” I felt my symptoms plummet 5dp5dt so knew something wasn’t quite right with the progesterone. We’ve signed up to the fertility access programme and they are so incredibly supportive in wanting to help us and the clinic are going to be in talks about what plan to do next so I have all confidence in them. We will get there. These things take time. Hubby surprised me this evening coming home from being away and all the tears flowed. I think I forget sometimes how much I admire his strength but also how much I realise he truly is my best friend. The wedding can wait, we’re in this for the long haul for sure 🥰

@hopingforbabyd I’m so glad you like your clinic -it’s so important! We’re you NHS previously? My NHS clinic can be a bit slow and bureaucratic but I really trust them and I’m very grateful. Have you had problems with progesterone in natural cycles? I always have and so they will have me on a very high dose after EC-with oil in injections as well as the bullets-hopefully you get this and it will help.

I’m hoping I get my period today -so much waiting in this process isn’t there?!

Hi @hopingforbabyd I’m sorry it was the period in the end. The same happened to me and it’s such a shock when you’re so focused on test day. Do you mind me asking what your clinic said about it? Mine were quite dismissive, said it’s hard to monitor progesterone etc and that it can happen. I was hoping for a more proactive approach re giving more progesterone or maybe changing the method to injections/orally..

Mouse- ask your clinic for Lubion. It’s an aqueous suspension of progesterone. All the advantages of being on injectable progesterone but with out the nasty pain.

Just done my 'double trigger' had to do two ovetrille injections because they said it helps with pushing the eggs just a little bit more so everything can be collected. I feel crazy bloated!!! Egg collection is scheduled for Friday morning 9:30 wish me luck ladies!!!
