New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@leannemford you go girl! That is fantastic! Big congratulations to you - maybe two little beans in there 😉 x

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 19:05

Meant 6th of June 🙈 x

Twiglet2353 · 13/05/2019 19:50

@AliceAbsolum Sending you love and hope the spotting settles down

@Hopingforbabyd hang in there!

@LeanneMFord congratulations! Wonder if there's one or two in there! Wink

Pleaseletitbeme · 13/05/2019 20:27

Alice- fingers crossed for you.

Hoping- I feel totally normal too. Occasional pulling sensation but no cramps/nausea (thank goodness!!) just have to roll with it.... hard though.....

AliceAbsolum · 14/05/2019 07:00

@LeanneMFord Congratulations! Excellent news xx Flowers

I forced myself not to test this morning. Spotting isn't great. I'll hold out until after DH gets home from work tomorrow.
Feel a bit embarrassed about how much I lost the plot over the last few days.

Hang in there fellow 2ww'ers x

@AliceAbsolum well done for staying strong and you have no need to be embarrassed -it’s such a stressful, difficult situation and we all understand.

LeanneMFord · 14/05/2019 08:31

Thanks everyone!!
@AliceAbsolum no need to be embarrassed at all. It's so hard on us physically emotionally and mentally. I think we all do what we have to to get through this. Hope your ok!! X

FlipKat · 14/05/2019 09:12

@AliceAbsolum - hope your spotting settles but I know many people get spotting in the early stages of pregnancy and everything works out fine.
As the nurse said, it doesn't mean anything at this stage. Fingers crossed for you!! This is such a stressful crazy time

FlipKat · 14/05/2019 09:17

@LeanneMFord - many many congratulations! That is super exciting :-)

FlipKat · 14/05/2019 09:22

So I’m 8dp5dt today and know I shouldn't but have not been able to stop myself testing :-/ Tentatively excited as for the first time in my life I have seen a 2nd line on a pregnancy test! There was a super faint line last night on a 10miu One Step (possibly highly unreliable!) test, and again today on a 25miu Boots own brand one and an NHS one. Thought I had a couple of FRERs in the cupboard but no. Have done an emergency Amazon order but I should probably just wait for the blood test tomorrow!

@LeanneMFord congrats! How wonderful!

@FlipKat congrats -there is def a line there! Hope the FRER goes well!

Hope everyone is getting on ok. I’m on day 7/12 on norethisterone and no side effects other than a few spots now developing. Feeling good -just want time to hurry and pass -still feels so far away! Buserelin first injection tomorrow! Will be strange being back on the injections but again I’m quite keen to get started!

Pleaseletitbeme · 14/05/2019 22:12

Good luck Mouse.

Hopingforbabyd · 14/05/2019 22:58

@flipkat lovely little lines! Hope your FRER goes well. Well deserved x💐

@mouse1234567 yay to getting started on those little jabs again. Glad norethisterone has been kind to you I’ve had sharp nipple twinges today which has given me a little comfort to whatever that may mean. Yesterday was a bad day. It’s just nice to feel something and feel a little bit of hope x

mouse1234567 · 15/05/2019 07:53

@Hopingforbabyd it must be such a tricky time -I’m so fearful of the tww. Was listening to BFN podcast yesterday and I’m going to do the suggestion of a list of all the great stuff I’m going to do if it’s a BFN. I thought perhaps I can add one for everyday of the tww to try and make me hold out longer we to test!

@AliceAbsolum hope you are ok.

FlipKat · 15/05/2019 09:01

Thanks everyone. I've had pale but definite lines on FRERs, but no stronger today than yesterday. Today is OTD and have just back from having my blood test done at the clinic. The nurse gave me a proper telling off for having done done urine tests already. Says I should have waited 2 days after official blood test day, as early results can be unreliable. Very scared now my blood test is going to come back low. Guess I will just have to wait and see!

@AliceAbsolum - hope all is alright with you. All the best of luck for your test today. Are you doing a blood test as well?

AliceAbsolum · 15/05/2019 09:02

BFN. Not surprised. Just angry. No more NHS rounds and pointless doing it again with such low amh.

Pleaseletitbeme · 15/05/2019 09:17

Alice.... I am so sorry. Don’t know what to say.
Be angry. Be very angry... But promise me you’ll pick yourself up and focus this anger into a plan of action xxx

Hopingforbabyd · 15/05/2019 09:22

@aliceabsolum I’m so sorry to hear you got a BFN this morning 😞 don’t give up! We’re all still here for you x

FlipKat · 15/05/2019 09:37

Oh @aliceabsolum I'm so sorry! This is such a horrible stressful process.

It must feel awful and hopeless to have gone through several rounds with all BFNs. If you do decide to try the private option, I have friends with low AMH who have had success with mild or natural IVF eg with Create. And it uses fewer drugs it can be a bit cheaper too.

For now just take time to recover and look after yourself. Hugs xx

WorriedButterfly · 15/05/2019 10:51

@AliceAbsolum - as others have said take time to be kind to yourself. If you do decide to go at it again, you could talk to the clinic about DHEA supplements prior which help egg quality for people with low AMH.

mouse1234567 · 15/05/2019 13:30

@AliceAbsolum so sorry. It’s so rubbish. Thinking of you. X

LeanneMFord · 15/05/2019 14:05

@AliceAbsolum so sorry to hear that. Take some time for you.

@FlipKat any update on your blood test results?

FlipKat · 15/05/2019 16:01

@LeanneMFord - just had the call. Not sure it's entirely good news - my HCG level was 32.5. The nurse told me anything above 5.8 is a positive result but they like the numbers to be over 50. I'm 9dp5dt so I'm hoping it is just because it is still early days but I'm pretty worried to be honest :-/ The nurse didn't sound too encouraging on the phone. I'm going back on Friday morning for a repeat blood test. Fingers crossed!!

LeanneMFord · 15/05/2019 16:23

@FlipKat oh very mixed then. Hopefully Friday will give you the answers you need. X

Hopingforbabyd · 15/05/2019 17:04

@flipkat I’m hoping by Friday your numbers will of doubled for you 🤞🏼 X
