Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Good luck for the scans today xx

AniSL · 25/04/2018 08:50

Good luck to those who have scans today's and those who are still waiting for AF or have started their medications-hope you find some peace in the madness

I got my meds this morning- two big boxes that scared the life out of me, opened them and the boxes inside were so small 😂
I have Gonal-f and Cetrotide and Progynova. Anyone on similar? What have your experiences been on them?

SouthernBella74 · 25/04/2018 08:54

Thanks for the good luck wishes ladies.

Just finished with my tracking scan and all looks good and I’ve been given the green light to progress to start taking progesterone with my FET booked for next Tuesday! 😃

Really, really pleased to finally have a date, but now it feels a little scary. 😬

Will just have to focus on remembering my med schedule, keeping busy and staying positive from here on out. 🤗

@summerloving17, I hope all goes well for you today. 🤞

Summerloving17 · 25/04/2018 09:10

Thanks ladies and welcome newbies! You will get used to the injections don’t worry, I don’t think they are ever nice!

@Southernbella ahhhh amazing news how exciting!!! I’m on the way to my appointment now, it’s at 10. Barely slept! Praying for good news too but I have a bit of cramping so I’m worried! Will update you all!

Good luck to other scanners!

@Ansil yes I was on the same apart from menopur instead of gonal f. Think it’s quite a standard protocol, it worked for me as got 9 mature eggs which I was happy with. Good luck xx

@southernbella74 whoop whoop!!! Hope all goes well leading up to Tuesday. xxx

Hope it's good news for you too @SummerLoving x

Si1ver · 25/04/2018 10:11

Good luck @SouthernBella74 fingers crossed for you.

Summerloving17 · 25/04/2018 10:41

Transfer booked for Wednesday next week 🎉🎉🎉🎉 so happy!!

He doesn't want me to do two due to high risk pregnancy if twins so I'm not sure what to do now as really thought I should go for two ! Xx

findingmyfeet12 · 25/04/2018 10:47

Good news about your transfers next week - will keep everything crossed for you 🤞

I thought I had a scan today but it was just a blood test. I ended up giving a urine sample as well as I've got symptoms of a uti.

I definitely have a scan on Friday.

SouthernBella74 · 25/04/2018 12:05

@Summerloving17, fantastic! So pleased that you’ll have your transfer next week as well. 😃

Re transferring 2 vs 1, I’m going with my consultants advice and just transferring 1 & I’m happy with that. Is it a firm no against you transferring 2 or is that just what they are advising?

@AniSL, I took Cetrotide during my stim cycles. The injection stung, but at least the needle was prefilled 🙌

I’m on Progynova now, orally & vagionally & so far, so good. I start the lentogest tomorrow which is an oil based injection in the bum. Not looking forward to that! 😬

Not much longer before we have more scan results 😀

Summerloving17 · 25/04/2018 14:40

@Southernbella thankyou Smile I’m so happy it worked out for us both!

I’m veering back towards transferring one again now! I think i just wanted to give me the maximum chance of success this time after it didn’t work transferring one last time (didn’t even think about two then!) he said we can do two if we return the new consent form but he would advise one purely based on a 16% chance of twins (last time he told me 20 %). he was quite aggressive and I felt a bit upset leaving actually :( I think I will change clinics if this doesn’t work as they seem quite dismissive of most things!!!

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

OP posts:
HappyHedgehog247 · 25/04/2018 15:17

@SouthernBella what fresh hell is an oil injection in the bum?! I hope it is not as grim as it sounds. We should all get medals as well as babies.

Good news @SummerLoving re the transfer. There seems to be more and more noise around only doing 1. Good luck with whatever you go for, although sorry they were dismissive.

SouthernBella74 · 25/04/2018 15:38

@Summerloving17, oh, goodness. I hope your consultant doesn't cause you too much stress and worry. At the end of the day, it is your decision, so you should do what feels best for you. Smile

He, he, @HappyHedgehog247, I'm going to be taking 3 different types of progesterone: pills, a vaginal cream & a Lentogest injection x3 per week. (a whole belt and braces approach, apparently!) The Lentogest is an oil based medication and is given intramuscularly. They suggest the buttock vs thigh, so will give that a go. My OH is out of town just now, so will be doing the first injection on my own tomorrow.

Si1ver · 25/04/2018 15:40

@Summerloving17 bugger that. No one should make you feel shit or be aggressive. Provide him with some "constructive feedback" on his customer service.

Summerloving17 · 25/04/2018 15:44

@Si1ver @Southernbella and @Hedgehog. Thanks ladies, I will be giving constructive feedback! I might just go with one now, if I change my mind I have to go back up to the hospital and give him the consent form Saturday at 8am, like they are trying to put me off!!!

@Southernbella that does not sound fun! I’ve got lubion progesterone injections in my stomach instead plus cyclogest. As long as it work I guess you don’t mind what you have to do!

Xx

Hey everyone, hope everyone’s good?

@summerloving and @southernbella - great news from scans today! I am so glad things are going smoothly for you and you have your dates for transfer!

Southernbella - giving yourself jags in the bum is a while new level of devotion to your cause 💪...hope it’s not as bad as it sounds x

picklesandpetals · 25/04/2018 18:16

@windy2909 thanks for the welcome

@SouthernBella74 also thanks for the welcome. I really hope it goes smoothly too, guess I shall find out soon enough! Exciting news that you have your FET booked 🙌

@AniSL I'm also going to be on gonal f, cetrotide and ovitrelle. I'll probably be starting stims friday 🤞 so I'll report back experience and any side effects 🤪

@Summerloving17 whoop whoop!! 🙌🎉 that's such great news hun. And you go with your gut on how many you want transferred. I think you really want two, will you kick yourself afterwards? Dunno. I'm not at that stage yet but I'm going with two I think

Hopefully haven't left anyone out. Good luck to everyone about to have a scan or start their injections

Re vitamins, feel really confused. I'm at a private clinic not nhs, would like to think their providing me best advice but it's definitely got me thinking 🤔 really don't know what to do at this late stage so close to starting

Anyway, had a lovely back massage this afternoon 🤗 we must look after ourselves during this stressy period huh

xx

picklesandpetals · 25/04/2018 18:22

Can someone confirm FET acronym? It's not on the list! Presumably fertalised embreyo transfer? Or similar.. 🤔 can tell I'm new to this huh!

hoping2018 · 25/04/2018 18:46

I'm feeling super behind with posts!

@picklesandpetals welcome! FET is frozen embryo transfer which is why only some people are referencing it!

Great news on peoples scans and dates for transfer - my scan was much less exciting! They were just confirming I didn't have any cysts and my lining was thin. I should have started menopur tomorrow but because of the bank holiday in egg collection week they've moved everything back by one day so starts tomorrow now!

@Summerloving17 Personally I wish they were telling me to put back one embryo! It means they think it's a high chance of success and you have a good embryo. I'm only going for 2 as mine are going to be crap quality and my chances of success are low. I do not want twins (I'd love twins) but I want a healthy baby.

Below are the nice guidelines on how many to put back in case anyone is interested.

windy2909 · 25/04/2018 19:25

@hoping - thanks for the link...was interesting to read. I think it’s best when they just tell you what’s best and you go for that. If I was given the choice I would be so torn tying to decide!

Are any of you ladies having a really hard time just waiting for things to get going??? I think I am turning into a mad woman 😱 x

Si1ver · 25/04/2018 19:35

@picklesandpetals I emailed my clinic a list of vitamins that I was taking and asked them what they thought. They said it was fine to stop taking DHEA on the day of egg retrieval.

I'm on the same protocol as you actually. Where are you having your cycle?

physicskate · 25/04/2018 19:48

Wow a busy day on here! We had our consent appointment and they sounded pretty happy that we will probably be allowed to start with af late next week!!!

Had my tsh come back as high: 3.8. So I've started levothyroxine. Any advise appreciated: should I hold off for another cycle to allow tsh to go down or do I just get it over with? It's our one and only nhs cycle...

picklesandpetals · 25/04/2018 20:13

@Si1ver glad your day 2 injections went ok. I'm seeing how AF shapes up today, will have another conversation with nurse tomorrow to decide whether or not today is my day one. Will be starting injections either tomorrow or Friday...

picklesandpetals · 25/04/2018 20:16

@hoping2018 thanks for the FET clarification. Whereabouts are you on your cycle?

I was a mad woman anyway lol x

Summerloving17 · 25/04/2018 20:53

@Hoping2018 with the changes you have made you might get completely different results this time 🤞my consultant was of the opinion that everyone should put back one at a time and just do more cycles rather than risk multiples as overall pregnancy rate is the same. Just annoyed me as he isn’t the one paying or having to go through the heartbreak!! I can see it from the medical risk management view though

@physicskate I’m sorry I don’t know anything about thyroxine, did you ask whether they would advise waiting?

@picklesandpetals, back massage sounds like a good idea 👍. What I’ve found going through this is that no one really knows the best thing to do hence advice differing from place to place! My clinic think if it’s going to work it will and just to take folic acid and vitamin d! You’ll soon get the acronyms, although hopefully your fresh cycle will work do you won’t need a frozen transfer!

Xx

I've given in and I'm watching One Born Every Minute on YouTube Confused

Dh is away tonight so I can watch it without him telling me to turn it off as it always ends up making me feel bad.

I binge watch episodes sometimes.
