Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

@windy2909, amazingly, the sun is still shining down in London, but I've been told the weather will turn this week. 🙁 But all is good now! You had a birthday this past week, no? Happy belated birthday! Cake

@hoping2018, good luck for this cycle. Hopefully, you'll have good quality embryos and can put back as many as you want. Star

@HappyHedgehog247, good luck with your first scan tomorrow! I felt things just got easier after the first scan during my stim cycle.

@summerloving17, how's everything going? Are you looking forward to the first scan on Wednesday? I can't wait! I hope everything looks good so we can keep to the plan. Otherwise, I'm going to have a bit of a scheduling nightmare on my hands! Grin

Happy Sunday to everyone else. Sending you positive vibrations for your respective journeys. Star

Hey ladies,

@happyhedgehog, good luck for tomorrow! I find all scans nerve wracking!

@Southernbella, I’m impatiently counting down till Wednesday too! I’m worried I will need longer due to that spotting but haven’t had any since so praying 🙏. I’m meant to go back to work 8th May so was really hoping I could have the transfer the week before as I’ve got a 3 hour round commute on the central line 🙈 Are you feeling ok on the progynova? I had a meltdown yesterday and started feeling really depressed, just really sick of drugs now and need this to be my last cycle!!

Glad you enjoyed your massage Ansil, I did too and actually my therapist is having a FET too so lots to talk about!

Hope everyone having a good weekend! We are en route to Pontefract from London to look at kitchens! Sadly I didn’t realise it would be 5 degrees colder so have not dressed appropriately 😂🤦‍♀️ Xx

Hello everyone.

Good luck for your scan happy.

I've got a scan on Wednesday too.

Summer, I know how you feel about the drugs. It's my 6th cycle of stims and I'm almost ready to throw in the towel. I hope it's my last cycle too.

Summerloving17 · 22/04/2018 14:40

@findingmyfeet good luck for your scan too! It really is so draining isn’t it! This is the first cycle I haven’t been on stims but to be honest I think I felt better on them than the drugs for this FET. My body clearly doesn’t like artificial oestrogen and progesterone!! We have decided this will be my last cycle and we will put 2 back. I just don’t feel like myself anymore, I’ve lost so much confidence and the drugs are sending me loopy! I never used to cry all the time! Hopefully this will be our lucky one! Xx

Pointy is just down the road from me - if you need to nip in and borrow a jumper summerloving!! It's literally just turned super cold and cloudy...

I'm still a bit behind you ladies (paperwork appointment weds) and not sure when my short protocol will start, but rooting for you all!!

physicskate · 22/04/2018 14:41

Arg Ponty not pointy!!

Summerloving17 · 22/04/2018 14:54

@physicskate bless you thankyou! I lived in Harrogate and Leeds for a few years with work so its my own fault. It’s warmer now than it was at Leicester service station at least :)

Good luck for your appointment Wednesday, hopefully you’ll get to start ASAP xx

hoping2018 · 22/04/2018 15:19

Eek! Sounds like it's all hotting up for everyone this week - my scans Wednesday too but just the baseline to check everything is quiet before I start drums.

@findingmyfeet12 6th stim cycle is impressive! I really hope this works out for you (and of course everyone else!)

Look forward to hearing how everyone gets on xx

SouthernBella74 · 22/04/2018 16:30

@Summerloving17, I hope we both get a chance to keep to our schedules. I haven't had any further issues with the medications, other than the clexane stinging a bit. I hope you enjoy Pontefract and it takes your mind off of everything else. Smile

@findingmyfeet12, good luck for your scan on Wednesday as well! I think I just completely disassociate myself from the pills/injections. I have my phone set for different times and at those times, I take whatever pill/injection I'm supposed to and just tick it off my calendar. Focussing on ticking things off the calendar, just helps me not focus on the bigger reason why I'm doing all of this!

Hopefully, my little mental trick pays off in the end! Smile

@physicskate, good luck with your appointment and @hoping2018, good luck with your scan on Wednesday. Star

HappyHedgehog247 · 22/04/2018 16:40

Big day on Wednesday for this group! Will make sure I check in and be thinking of you all. I read 'Incomceivable' this weekend. Has anyone read it?

Yorkshirelass27 · 22/04/2018 16:56

Hi all, hope you are having a relaxing weekend.
Looks like this week is a big one for several of us!
Scan no.2 for me tomorrow and fingers crossed EC will be at the end of the week. Other than the Merional stinging and having some hot flushes, everything is ok.
Hope everything goes to plan for you all x

HappyHedgehog247 · 22/04/2018 17:22

Good luck tomorrow @Yorkshire.

Can anyone help answer a question for me? When they say transfer on day 5 does egg collection day count as Day 1 or do they start counting from the following day? X

hoping2018 · 22/04/2018 17:57

@HappyHedgehog247 if I remember correctly last time my EC Was Wednesday and my day 5 transfer was the Monday. So EC day was effectively day 0 x

HappyHedgehog247 · 22/04/2018 18:02

Thank you hoping.

windy2909 · 22/04/2018 19:55

Lots of appointments this week! Looking forward to hearing lots of good news!

@southernbella - thank you for the birthday wishes x

@happyhedgehog - yes I’m pretty sure day 1 is the day after egg collection

@physicskate - I hope you get your start date at your appointment and that it’s soon!

I am slowly going mad waiting for period to come! I have had cramps for over a week and I keep thinking it’s going to come but as yet no joy....and I am running out of patience 😩 x

Si1ver · 22/04/2018 20:30

Evening all.

My period finally turned up this morning. First injection tomorrow. I'm bloody terrified.

windy2909 · 22/04/2018 21:02

Aaw si1ver, sorry you’re feeling scared! Is this your first cycle? Is it the thought of injections terrifying you? X

@happyhedgehog - sorry forgot to say, I haven’t read that book? Is it any good? I’m always on the look out for a good read x

findingmyfeet12 · 22/04/2018 21:13

I was terrified of the injections too. They're really not painful at all. I still can't bring myself around to administering them myself though. DH does it.

Si1ver · 22/04/2018 21:43

@windy2909 yes it's my first cycle.

I'm not so scared of the injections in and of themselves. I'm not physically scared of the needles or even the idea of doing it myself, I'm scared that the hormones are going to send me nuts. I'm terrible with pharmaceutical hormones at the best of times, the pill always sent me a bit loopy, to the point I had to move to non hormonal contraception (a copper coil).

Although with hindsight worrying about contraception was a bit redundant really 😆

windy2909 · 22/04/2018 21:50

Yes si1ver....I get the irony there! I’d imagine the hormones are different ones to those for contraception (based on the fact that you are trying to do the opposite of prevent) so here’s hoping you’ll be just fine. All you can do is take it one day at a time. Good luck with your first one. Let us know how you get on x

HappyHedgehog247 · 23/04/2018 11:54

@windy2909 I liked Inconceivable as it gives you a sense of control and hope.

Had my scan this morning. It turns out I've only been taking 50% of the Bemfola I am meant to be - have been doing 1 evening injection and it's meant to be 1 morning and 1 evening. DOH! SO frustrated when I heard that.

However, they called back and have told me to stick with the reduced dose as they found enough follicles. I have 11 but only 5 of them are >10mm so my focus now is on growing them! Next scan not until Fri, was hoping for a mid week one too!! My main concern is egg quality given my age.

Hope everyone else's scans went well x

AniSL · 23/04/2018 12:19

Si1ver it's my first cycle and that is exactly what I am worried about. Will the hormone injections turn me into a crazy person

Si1ver · 23/04/2018 13:38

@HappyHedgehog247 that's so frustrating! I'm pleased you have enough follicles though.

@AniSL I'm so pleased it's not just me that's worried about it. I've made my husband promise not to leave me if I turn into a raging nightmare. Also that anything I say while hormonally crazed can't be brought up in future arguments. 🤣

AniSL · 23/04/2018 14:04

Lol @Si1lver my husband said I'm already a crazed nut so will probably have to knock me out if the hormones send me crazy. He did say that it was better to take in the evening (previous IVF cycle with his first wife) as you sleep through most of the side effects.
