Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Thanks for the congratulations all, I hope it's the same result next Saturday.

@picklesandpetals sore boobs and exhaustion mainly although I felt some stretching yesterday when I went for a walk.

@HappyHedgehog247 AniSL has a fascinating spreadsheet which she gave me and which helped me decide which clinic to use. I decided on Reprofit in the Czech Republic, I'm also 38 with low ovarian reserve.

HappyHedgehog247 · 19/05/2018 08:55

Thanks @Si1ver do you mind me asking how long you have to be abroad for? It's tricky for me to do long trips for various reasons, but not impossible.

AniSL · 19/05/2018 08:57

@picklesandpetals and @happyhedgehog247 I have not come across a website that lists all the success rates, I went to the HFEA website and individually looked at all the ones I was interested in, laid out all the costs and success rates on a spreadsheet. Then looked at European and international ones and did the same.
Hubby then decided to get involved and look at my work and looked over reviews etc, CRGH has been under investigation a number of times for false claims and had too many negative reviews for hubby to justify the cost of it. We ended up with no UK ones, it came to a decision between Newlife and Reprofit. We had consultations with both and went with Newlife in the end. They have been amazing, answered the endless amount of emails we have sent them. Once we got to Greece I went there for daily scans and blood tests too. They have been amazing.

AniSL · 19/05/2018 08:59

@si1ver I am glad I was able to help you in this crazy journey.

HappyHedgehog247 · 19/05/2018 09:00

@Anisl thanks so much for sharing that knowledge. I really appreciate it. Where in UK came out top for you out of interest if you'd had to stay in Uk or did you not see much difference between them ? Appreciate it's all individual. How long have you had to be abroad? A week is fine for me, two weeks is a bit tricky

Si1ver · 19/05/2018 09:07

@HappyHedgehog247 Technical you can fly after your trigger shot and back the day of ET, so 5/6 days in total. You can also fly out and back and out again.

We used annual leave and went for about ten days.

@AniSL, your spreadsheet was what convinced my husband that we should go for this.

HappyHedgehog247 · 19/05/2018 09:10

Ok, I think I am going to start seriously looking at abroad options. Thanks so much ladies for the info. @Anisl, if you'd be up for sharing your spreadsheet i'd love it. I love a good spreadsheet!!!

AniSL · 19/05/2018 09:18

@happyhedgehog247 I think all the clinics that weren't CRGH or ARGC had similar success rates but Thames Valley Fertility Clinic and Gennet did stick out above the others I looked at. CRGH and ARGC were the most expensive of all clinics.
We have been in Greece for 12 days, we wanted a holiday tbh which has been amazing. The flights out here are 3 and a half hours from London and around £35-60. Treatment wise, we started on day 2 of our holiday, they extended my protocol because my follies took longer to mature than they had hoped, otherwise if we were on the original plan, I would have had transfer yesterday. I was happy for them to change my protocol as they needed to.
It's a tough decision if you can't take the time out from the UK but Newlife also put us in touch with UK couples who also only flew out to the clinic when needed. I believe Reprofit allows you to do the same too.

They do 5 day blasts and ICSI as standard out here. Hubby needed TESE which in the UK would have cost £1500 But here they did it for 700 euros.

AniSL · 19/05/2018 09:20

@happyhedgehog247 I will be back tonight so will send to you either tonight or tomorrow. PM your email addy

Grimbles · 19/05/2018 11:24

Had my egg collection yesterday. 12 eggs retrieved, 9 were usable and had icsi. Only 3 fertilised but are apparently looking really good. The clinic are looking to transfer on Monday instead of waiting until weds.

Not sure what to think or feel ATM.

PonyPals · 19/05/2018 11:44

Hi ladies!

Finally have a chance to post. I am officially in the 2ww!
Had a beautiful (they gave us a picture) emby transferred today 4BA.

We have 6 still going. 2 will most likely make it to biopsy and the other 4 are 50/50.

Hope you all are doing really well

PonyPals · 19/05/2018 11:45

Congrats @Si1ver how exciting! Shock

Si1ver · 19/05/2018 11:50

Lovely embryo @PonyPals good luck.

AniSL · 19/05/2018 12:26

@ponypals and @grimbles well done

picklesandpetals · 19/05/2018 13:57

@HappyHedgehog247 no I'm not aware of such a list, shame. Such a difficult decision to make.

@AniSL if you're up for sharing your spreadsheet I would love to see it. Would be very interested.

xx

hoping2018 · 19/05/2018 16:54

Congratulations @Si1ver !!!! Great news you must be over the moon.

And a beautiful embie @PonyPals !

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2018 17:39

Si1ver, congratulations.

I've just had my blood test and the result was 8 UI/L.

It says that under 5 is negative. I have another test on Tuesday.

I think there may be hope for me yet?

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2018 18:20

I'm having cramping today so I think it's a mmc for me.

hoping2018 · 19/05/2018 21:32

Hi @findingmyfeet12 what day past transfer were your bloods on. 8 sounds low, did the clinic say if it could be a late implanter? How long do you have to wait for a repeat? Hope you're ok - it's awful being in limbo!

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2018 21:38

I'm 10dpt today. I guess 8 is too low. I've had terrible cramping for about 3 days now and back pain.

I think af is imminent.

hoping2018 · 19/05/2018 22:12

Most places say test 14dpt though? So maybe it's on it's way up? What did the clinic say?

bangsaklove · 20/05/2018 08:55

Just checking in :) stimms going well day 7 now and first scan on wed to see if follies are doing well! Just happy to be feeling more Human now burselin lowered and finally progressing you know...even though way behind you girls!
Was very sore middle of abdomen all day ydya but had done yoga the night before....when did you all get terribly sore on stims? I’m on Gonal F.

Congrats @Si1ver I think the bFps really lift everyone xxx
@ponypals well done on getting to 2 ww 🍀sending lots of luck

Hope everyone else is doing ok, looks like lovely subshine today to soothe the souls! Xx

Si1ver · 20/05/2018 10:34

@bangsaklove I didn't get sore specifically on Gonal F, I just got progressively more bloated and tender. The injections themselves didn't hurt, but by the end my stomach was all distended and painful to touch.

Actual pain sounds like DOMS from the yoga.

The cetrotide injections do hurt. They sting for about 15 minutes afterwards. When's your first scan due?

bangsaklove · 20/05/2018 17:59

Thanks @si1ver I reckon you are right re yoga as it’s was bang in middle so not near any ovaries! I felt I need to do some exercise but yoga is about my limit at mo. Good thing for me is my endo means lots of bloating so that’s one thing I’m used too!
As far as i know I’m just on Gonal F and then the trigger injection do some clinics mix the 2?
Im having 1st scan Wed, another Friday with potential egg collection next wkd. SCARY!
Driving me mad knowing if Gonal is working or not 😀
Def got my quota of vitamin D today!

Did anyone go back to work right after Transfer? I’m in an office but it’s large and stressful and I just know they are gonna be moody about it....🙄

Si1ver · 20/05/2018 18:04

My protocol was Gonal F for 8ish days, the Gonal F and Cetrotide togetherfor 5ish days, then just cetrotide for one day, then the ovitrelle trigger shot. I seem to have protectively blanked out how long I was having injections for.

From what I understand that is a fairly standard protocol for a first time.
