Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Oh and I went back to work nearly straight away. My ET was on Saturday morning, I flew home that day and went to work on Monday.

hoping2018 · 20/05/2018 18:35

@bangsaklove my ET was Sunday and I didn't go backtrack to work til Friday! But I had 22 eggs collected so was pretty uncomfortable x

AniSL · 20/05/2018 18:36

Hi all

For those who pm'd me their email addresses for the IVF spreadsheet, will be sending soon

Had my day 3 report today, one grade A 8 split embryo and one grade A 7 split embryo. Will now have to wait for one day of lab silence as they do not give day 4 updates.

@bangsaklove I was on Gonal 150 for 2 days, then both Gonal and Cetrotide together for I can't remember how many days, then Averkap trigger shot. I didn't find the injections painful at all and had minimal bloating until the day before trigger, the trigger wasn't painful and actually helped reduce the bloating. EC was ok and a bit tender but otherwise ok. Bloating completely subsided on day 3 after EC. I think it's all an individual thing but good luck with it all

bangsaklove · 20/05/2018 18:43

Thanks for your replies re the drugs, I am on the NHS (one round only) so not sure if that’s an NHS thing or they will introduce cetrotide after my scan possibly...I will raise it with them :-)
I think maybe a couple of days off then back to work x

rainylake · 20/05/2018 19:02

@bangsaklove do be careful with the yoga as you carry on with gonal, especially poses that involve twists or put pressure on the abs. You'll probably know your limits as your ovaries start to feel tender but it is apparently possible for them to twist inside you.

My transfer was on a Sunday so not relevant about work but physically I could have gone back as that part wasn't painful at all. But it really depends how egg collection goes as especially if you have a day 3 transfer you may still be quite tender from that. And also how you are feeling emotionally about spending the rest of the day back at work.

@Si1ver congratulations! Wonderful news! Hope all continues well.

rainylake · 20/05/2018 19:26

@bangsaklove I was on gonal throughout, no cetrotide. Instead I stayed on the burselin whike taking the gonal. It depends whether they think you should be on an antagonist cycle I believe, though I'm not sure what the medical reasons are they put you on one rather than another.

AniSL · 20/05/2018 19:40

@bangsaklove the Gonal is to help your follies mature, Cetrotide is to prevent them prematurely ovulating so they are designed to do two different things. My clinic only started me on Cetrotide after a follicle tracking scan. Once the follies are mature then you stop both and go ahead with a trigger

bangsaklove · 20/05/2018 20:38

Thank you that all makes sense ! So I think they will prob introduce it if needed by sounds of things. Everyone I should individual I guess.
Rainy lake you make a very good point, there was pregnant lady in the class who was advised to not twist...I think I may just air on the side of caution for now after the soreness and stick to walking. I’m quite active at gym usually so it may well have been a warning sign ...x

rainylake · 20/05/2018 21:24

@bangsaklove yeah I found giving up exercise really sucked. Usually I go to classes a few times a week, but they are either high cardio with lots of jumping around or yoga with lots of twisting etc, so I haven’t been since I started on the gonal (though by day 4 or so I was feeling so tender I wouldn’t have wanted to so I’m impressed you can manage the yoga at all!

bangsaklove · 20/05/2018 21:30

Same for me @rainylake...spin, crazy fun zumba, body pump and yoga! I hate feeling so sluggish but must accept I am not superwoman and must listen to body on these drugs! You’ve made me feel better though so thank you. I feel like all I’ve done is moan to my husband the last 5 weeks but it’s soooooo hard with the side effects as we all know. Anyway nearly there now :)

HappyHedgehog247 · 21/05/2018 07:03

Great news on the embryos @AniSL and I hear you on the exercise @bangsaklove I did more walks which I know isn't the same. X

bangsaklove · 21/05/2018 07:22

Walks are better than nothing :-)
I think there are a few official test dates this week for everyone good luck and how is your 2 week wait dragging?! I think I will be in work for mine if I get that far 🤞🏼🤞🏼

picklesandpetals · 21/05/2018 09:04

@AniSL brilliant news on the embies, great quality

Like many of you ladies I've been missing the gym. I know I've put weight on, but it's not all over, just my tummy really. Looking forward to getting back to it. This 2ww is a killer 😩

hoping2018 · 21/05/2018 11:07

Hey all, how's everyone doing in the two week wait?

I'm driving myself mad on symptoms - period expected Thursday but OTD not til Sunday. I'm mainly just super bloated - not fitting in my clothes when I had got back I tot hen post EC and quite a lot of cramps. but also craving chocolate and hot sweats last night which I always get a couple of days before my period! No sore boobs either. Argh!!! Going mad!!!

PonyPals · 21/05/2018 12:01

2 we seems like 2 months.

No symptoms at all. Nothing. Not even bloated anymore. Hmm

bangsaklove · 21/05/2018 12:36

You are all good not cracking and testing before OTD pretty sure I will want to but really going to try and hold off. When trying naturally I was forever peeing on sticks and disappointed! Obv x

rainylake · 21/05/2018 12:51

Yes it is hard. I’m trying to keep busy and not think about it but it’s always on the back of my mind. My periods are frequently (but not always) on the short side (27 days) and I often have spotting for several days beforehand. So far haven’t had any spotting, and if egg collection counts as the equivalent of ovulation, today would be day 28, so I’m hoping that could be a good sign, but I don’t want to get my hopes up because all the drugs could have made my cycle different from normal, and I do sometimes have longer cycles anyway so have got my hopes up in the past and then been disappointed. Also the sticky residue from the progesterone keeps making me think my period is starting, so that’s messing with my mind too.

picklesandpetals · 21/05/2018 12:52

@hoping2018 the wait is killing me!! Not much symptoms. Boobs still huge, they are sensitive on and off but probably Cyclogest related. I'm super bloated still too. Tummy cramps on and off but nothing much. Major sweet tooth cravings too. Yesss the night sweats!! Convinced I'm getting my period at times. Read an interesting article about testing early, so may just do it 😬. Also it mentioned about the follicles refilling with fluid after EC which I guess is partly why we still feel bloated

bangsaklove · 21/05/2018 13:09

IVe read that too about the follies @picklesandpetals! Ooo I want to read the article now 😀

picklesandpetals · 21/05/2018 14:04

@bangsaklove

www.montereybayivf.com/infertility-services/ivf-process/after-your-ivf-procedure/

Obviously I've spent too much time on google!!

bangsaklove · 21/05/2018 14:13

You me and all of us! That’s a great article though thanks! Currently just praying I get some decent eggs from my 14 follies. Bloated up like a balloon for very first time today x

picklesandpetals · 21/05/2018 14:18

@bangsaklove glad you found it of some use. My boobs actually rest on my belly when I'm sitting down 😩 I don't think I've ever felt as unattractive! Obviously it will all be worth it if it works! Got some pinching near my belly button this afternoon. Probably just my lunch 🤔

Ahoneybee · 21/05/2018 14:24

Hello ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining your thread so late. I've been lurking and reading all your updates with interest. I too have my official test date for this Sunday. This is my 1st cycle of IVF. They collected 7 eggs and just one fertilised so I had a SET. Like all of you I'm driving myself a bit mad wondering whether the symptoms may spell a BFP or period on the way. Good luck to you all :)

rainylake · 21/05/2018 15:11

@picklesandpetals thanks, that's interesting. Interesting that that article says that your period shouldn't start until you stop taking the progesterone, so any bleeding isn't just the normal type.

rainylake · 21/05/2018 15:12

Welcome @Ahoneybee. Good luck with your test - do you think you will be able to hold on till Sunday?
