Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Morning ladies! 🌞

Good luck with your transfer today, @Findingmyfeet 🍀

@CiroDiMarzio, I’ve just done my best to keep my mind occupied. I work full-time & study PT, so that helps. But ultimately, I know worrying isn’t going to help. So, I’ll just wait until Tuesday. A holiday sounds nice! Why didn’t I think of that?! 🤔

All the best to everyone going in for scans and continuing with injections.

Yeah! The (short) workweek is almost over! 😁

rainylake · 09/05/2018 07:57

Good morning all!

Good luck @findingmyfeet! Hope it goes really well.

I am feeling so much better today. My abdomen is still a bit tender but much less sore and walking around or going upstairs isn't a huge effort. Just started on the progesterone pessaries - when you put them in the applicator they look weirdly like a tiny boiled egg in an egg cup!

CiroDiMarzio · 09/05/2018 09:57

@rainylake you have an applicator?! I did not get one of those and now I’m furious! 😂

rainylake · 09/05/2018 11:35

@CirodiMarzio Yes I got a massive pack of them - they're disposable and I was actually feeling bad about the waste of plastic! It's so odd how everyone has slightly different set-ups with the drugs but I'm glad I got the applicator as it's grim enough as it is!

How much mess are people getting with the progesterone? Without wanting to give tmi and gross people out, there was a bit of a mess when I went to the toilet later on. I asked the clinic and they thought it was okay and not to worry about it in terms of absorbing the drug, but it did seem like a fair bit just came back out.

Good news from the clinic: 20 of the eggs were mature enough to do ICSI on and 19 of them have fertilised, which is a really big relief. They'll phone on Friday to let me know how they are doing. They said if there is a really clear 'winner' by Friday with one embryo much better than the others they may transfer then, but more likely they will wait until Sunday as they probably won't be able to tell well enough by day 3 which the best ones are. I'd rather have a day 5 transfer anyway. The embryologist said they expect about 40% of fertilised eggs to make it to blastocyst stage (though of those, not all may be top quality). I'm really hoping that we have a couple of spare good ones for freezing, as that would take a lot of pressure off the transfer.

Good luck @findingmyfeet, hope it goes well for you today.

CiroDiMarzio · 09/05/2018 12:20

Wow @rainylake that’s amazing, hopefully you’ll get lots of top quality day 5s to store away for later 😉

I’m so jealous of your applicators! I’ve had to file my nails down. 😂 I have noticed a small amount of white in the toilet but I didn’t think it was anything to worry about it. Apparently our bodies aboard the drugs really quickly so it’s probably just debris. Honestly this whole thing is so gross I’m so glad you ladies are all doing it too, I’m not sure my friends could handle this much info!

Si1ver · 09/05/2018 12:43

@rainylake it's gross isn't it, I have a horrible white paste stuff.

I'm also very jealous of the applicators. I do not have one and I'd like one.

picklesandpetals · 09/05/2018 12:51

@CiroDiMarzio a week away sounds bliss! Probably the best thing 👌 I'm only just back from holiday in April but it feels like about 6 months ago already 😩 I'm giggling about the filing of nails 🤣🤣 guess I'll find out soon enough 🙈. I've been reading that vaginally is less likely to cause vomiting/nausea, will see if my clinic let's me do it that way

@rainylake that's amazing news 🤗🙌 a really good amount and sounds like you've options for freezing

I'm back from my scan. My follies have grown loads! I'm good to go. EC Friday whoop whoop! It's now looking like I have around 11 - 12 at the right size, also lots more but they're smaller so unlikely to contain a mature egg. Trigger tonight and then try and relax

bangsaklove · 09/05/2018 13:43

Hey ladies sorry I have not posted lately but have been quietly in the background enjoying your updates. I’ve had a few rubbish days of burserelin effects this 3 week down reg is taking FOREVER
Anyone else still in ealry stages of process like me? I’m baseline scan next tues...I have also been smart 😂😂and booked a holiday in July so if the dreaded BFN appears something awesome with my husband to look forward too and to be grateful that I have him 💕
Anyway mushy there puke sorry!
Make the most of the sunshine girls and glad to read you are all progressing nicely! 2 waiters stay sane! Xx

bangsaklove · 09/05/2018 13:44

2 week waiters even 👍🏼

HappyHedgehog247 · 09/05/2018 13:54

@bangsaklove I gave up on sanity at the start of this process. I hated the downregging bit so feel for you. Soon you'll have the happy stims!

@findingmyfeet I hope things go well

@rainylake - AMAZING! Pop a few of those spares in the post will ya?!!

Re Progesterone - I've ended up doing almost all of them rectally rather than vaginally as there is loads less mess and I was worried about it leaking out before being discharged.

Day 6 past 3dt today. Had no cramping at all until last night and then no cramping but sort of heavy feeling in uterus, feels like AF is trying to work out when to come. I TESTED AGAIN THIS MORNING BECAUSE I AM CRAZED. I know, I know. It's like a compulsion.

bangsaklove · 09/05/2018 14:24

@happyhedgehog247 you are giving me hope with happy stimms 😅 cos this is just vile I had to tell work I had hay fever ydya as I Kept irrationally crying at work for no reason and had perma red eyes. Woman gone mad! 🤯
I’m a tester...historically...love a pee on a stick! I plan to not do this in 2ww but secretly know I will hahah x

bangsaklove · 09/05/2018 14:25

I’m so behind everyone I’m gonna be an expert at sticking things up the bum or other way by the time pessaries roll around Grin
Loving all the tips

picklesandpetals · 09/05/2018 14:48

@findingmyfeet12 hope your transfer went well today x

rainylake · 09/05/2018 17:19

For the second progesterone I just didn't go to the toilet for more than an hour afterwards. Which wasn't that easy as I'm meant to be drinking an extra 2-3 litres of water a day because I had so many follicles, which means I normally can't go more than 20 minutes. But there was definitely less mess.

I still look like I'm about 4 months pregnant and I can't tighten my abs at all. I guess our bodies are going through a hell of a lot and we have to appreciate how amazing they are to be able to put up with all this.

I didn't realise I was lucky to get the applicators! I will treasure them now!

Cobblestones · 09/05/2018 18:06

@rainylake that’s a fantastic outcome!

@findingmyfeet hope the transfer went well!

@picklesandpetals yay! That’s great!! That’s just the right amount.

I am bracing myself for EC tmw. I got to meet the doc today (till now they were just in the background) and he explained that depending on the number of eggs they collect or follicles they have to drain they will advise whether or not to go for a fresh transfer or freeze all (assuming I have some to freeze). Apparently studies show that fresh and frozen have exactly the same success rates. I do really want a fresh transfer but I also don’t want to land up with ohss.. it sounds really nasty.

Have some of you been dealing with nausea? Any tips on how to manage? Even water tastes horrible!

@bangsaklove hope next tues rolls around quickly for you! A holiday in July sounds awesome!

rainylake · 09/05/2018 18:32

@Cobblestones I know at my clinic they are taking part in a big research study because some doctors now think that frozen might actually have better success rates than fresh (because it gives your body more time to recover from all the drugs before having to cope with a pregnancy, especialy if you've had bad reactions to them). They've got posters up in the toilets inviting volunteers to take part so they can get evidence as to which is better and for which type of patient. So if they want you to do a frozen transfer maybe they think it could help increase the chances in your case as well as helping prevent OHSS.

I remember at my booking appointment the nurse said 'whatever you do don't google OHSS because you'll read horror stories about it and it will get you scared'. It does sound awful.

AniSL · 09/05/2018 19:17

I had my 8 day scan today, 9 follies on both left and right so 18 in total. 3 already over 18mm, given two days ago none over 11mm. They want to postpone egg collection until Monday. Endo is 7.87mm

findingmyfeet12 · 09/05/2018 19:27

Just checking in.

We only had one good blast which they transferred. There are two more which aren't quite ready yet but they'll see if they can be frozen tomorrow if they make any progress overnight.

I'm not feeling great tbh, last time we had four to freeze.

I've slept all afternoon and have a day off tomorrow too.

Hope you're all doing well?

rainylake · 09/05/2018 22:49

Good luck for tomorrow @Cobblestones. Hope it goes well for you and that you aren't too uncomfortable afterwards.

Cobblestones · 10/05/2018 05:34

Thanks @rainylake and thank you for the reassurance about fresh vs frozen! 🤞🤞

Cobblestones · 10/05/2018 05:35

@findingmyfeet I hope you have some blasts for freezing x

picklesandpetals · 10/05/2018 05:38

@Cobblestones good luck for EC today, hopefully it goes well, I'm a day behind you! 🤗

@rainylake that's interesting re better chances possibly with frozen transfer

@AniSL Nice amount of follies there, your body has done you good. Mine have grown loads in two days

@findingmyfeet12 don't be disheartened as it only takes one, totally get what you're saying about would be great to have some to freeze, but hopefully you won't need them. Try and have a nice relaxing day

I'm awake super early again 😩Ovitrelle has made my boobies more painful and now have itchy armpits. And I'm muddled as anything, this last week particularly, nearly put the wrong fuel in the car yesterday 😬 despite having had the car for eight years 🤣

SouthernBella74 · 10/05/2018 06:50

Morning ladies! 🌞

Good luck with your egg collections today, @hoping2018 and @Cobblestones 🍀

@Findingmyfeet, you may be a little disappointed, but focus on the lovely blastocyst that you have growing inside you! Welcome to the 2WW. 🎉 Hopefully your other embryos will keep growing.

Glad to hear good results on follicle sizes ahead of upcoming ECs.

@picklesandpetals, sorry to hear about your Ovitrelle side effects. I didn’t have this trigger shot and luckily no bad side effects from my one. Hopefully, it’ll calm down soon.

Have a wonderful day, ladies! 🌟

Si1ver · 10/05/2018 08:02

@Cobblestones good luck with the EC today.

@findingmyfeet12 I totally get why you're disheartened, but focus on the positive. You have a promising embryo on board. This is a win.

Si1ver · 10/05/2018 12:31

Day 3 embryo update. We still have five embryos. 4 are grade 1 and 1 is grade three (the lowest grade) this is pretty good news so far and all five embryos are still considered to be in the running.
