Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Wow @Si1ver that's really great news. Congrats!

hoping2018 · 10/05/2018 14:04

Hey all,

We got 22 eggs so will find out tomorrow how many are mature and how many fertilise.

Had a long chat with the embryologist afterwards which was useful - we spoke about where all the embryos stopped last time - majority was between day 3 and 5 so fingers crossed they fair better this time after the SST.

Argh it's going to be a stressful 5 days!!!

PonyPals · 10/05/2018 14:29

22 eggs! That's amazing. Fingers crossed for you.

Si1ver · 10/05/2018 14:31

22 eggs is epic! Well done

hoping2018 · 10/05/2018 14:48

Thanks @Si1ver and @PonyPals. It sounds promising but we got 20 last time and will no good quality blasts so I've learnt not to get my hopes up!

findingmyfeet12 · 10/05/2018 15:36

Thank you for the support.

Si1ver great news on the progress of the embryos.

hoping that's amazing! Fingers crossed that you get lots of healthy embryos.

picklesandpetals · 10/05/2018 15:52

@Si1ver yay that's a great number to have 🤗 really positive news

@hoping2018 that's a huuuuge amount, excellent news. How did you find the EC?

hoping2018 · 10/05/2018 16:05

Hey @picklesandpetals egg collection was fine - just had some sedation so can't remember it. A bit sore now - but more comfort than Lee egg collection - I was so bloated and couldn't walk or have anything touch my tummy as it was so tender. Less tender now!

picklesandpetals · 10/05/2018 16:26

@hoping2018 that's pretty much how I'm feeling. So bloated I'm huuuuge! I'm looking forward to feeling some relief from that hopefully after tomorrow

rainylake · 10/05/2018 16:57

@Si1ver fantastic to have 4 top quality embryos. That's really positive.

@hoping2018 great news on the egg collection. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for a better outcome than last time. Hopefully the SSR will help.

Cobblestones · 10/05/2018 17:35

@Si1ver 4 high quality sounds great!

@hoping glad it went well and that you’re feeling ok.

I just got home. It was a very long wait as I was the last of 9 women who were in for ec. They managed to collect 15 eggs out of 20 follicles so I’m pleased with that. However I’m not out of the woods as far as ohss is concerned. Over the next couple of days they will decide whether I can proceed for fresh transfer (fingers crossed for some good quality embryos).

Like we are not going through enough already I just got home to find a letter on my smear test which said borderline changes 😳 but no hpv. Does anyone know what this means? The doctor wanted to see the smear test before et and I really hope this doesn’t cause any problems. So out of the blue...

Si1ver · 10/05/2018 17:38

@Cobblestones boarderline changes can mean anything. From abnormal cells to the (more likely) oops we didn't collect enough cells to test properly.

I don't think it'll cause an issue for ET.

Cobblestones · 10/05/2018 17:38

@picklesndpetals don’t worry about pain too much. You’re drugged up really well so hopefully you won’t find it any more painful than I did and my threshold with pain isn’t very good. So you should be fine. I’m still pretty bloated though. Hopefully you’ll fare better. Enjoy your drug free day!

Cobblestones · 10/05/2018 17:40

Thanks for the prompt response! @Si1ver on that note I should try and get some sleep.

Btw I totally enjoyed the sleep on anaesthesia. And loved the codeine afterwards. I sound like a junkie haha 🤭

AniSL · 10/05/2018 17:42

@si1lver that's fab news

@hoping2018 fingers crossed for all 22

picklesandpetals · 10/05/2018 17:45

@Cobblestones sounds like you've had a long tiring day hun. 15 eggs is an amazing result! Try not to worry about that letter. I've had such a letter years ago and was nothing to worry about, they just followed me up with a couple of more frequent smears then back to normal routine smears after that. Thanks for reassuring me about tomorrow. Look after yourself this evening x

SouthernBella74 · 10/05/2018 18:02

@Si1ver, great result. Looks like you’ll be in a good position for Saturday. 😃

@hoping2018, wow 22 eggs! Fingers crossed for improved quality this time around. 🌟

@Cobblestones, 15 is a good number! Wishing you a good fertilisation rate and no OHSS! Sorry can’t help with the smear test results. Fingers crossed it doesn’t impact on your transfer.

Rest up ladies!

HappyHedgehog247 · 10/05/2018 18:22

Lovely to see all these great results for people! Hurrah @Si1ver, @hoping2018 and @Cobblestones.

I've pretty much accepted I'm out for this round so working through whether to stay with same clinic or move and whether to consider moving to donor egg. I'm disappointed but not devastated as always expected it to take more than 1 round.

Cobblestones · 11/05/2018 00:19

@happyhedgehog I’m sorry you feel that way.. the 2ww can’t be easy.. but hope you can stay positive till the test date though I understand the need to prepare oneself mentally..

@picklesandpetals all the best for tomorrow! And thanks for the reassurance about the smear test 😘

CiroDiMarzio · 11/05/2018 06:42

Morning all, sorry I’ve been a bit quiet, I’ve been reading all of your fantastic news about embryos, collections and transfers but have just been sitting in the background! I’m so pleased to hear that things are progressing and going so well for you.

@happyhedgehog, I’m really sorry to hear you feel like that, it is so difficult to stay positive when you know the chances for a good outcome. I really hope things turn around for you x

AFM, I’ve been doing daily Zita West meditations and walking to and from work (about 70 minutes in all) to try to keep a healthy mind. My boobs are huge and sore which I’m trying to see as a good sign but at the same time I have the huge hormonal spot between my brow that often appears before periods. I keep telling myself there are so many hormones in my body that it could be anything but it’s so normal for me to get them that I’m thinking it’s a sign AF is about to arrive. OTD is this time next week so a long way to go yet...

SouthernBella74 · 11/05/2018 07:08

Good luck with your egg collection today, @piclesandpetals. 🍀 I hope it goes smoothly and you’re not too sore afterwards.

SouthernBella74 · 11/05/2018 07:08

@Happyhedgehog247, I’m sorry you feel that way....but all is not lost until your OTD. Take good care for the rest of your 2WW.

@ciroDiMarzio, well done for all the walking. I miss the gym so much! 😩 But taking it easy & have been walking more to keep active.

bangsaklove · 11/05/2018 07:48

@Happyhedgehog247 I can only echo the other girls, it’s not over till it’s over xx there is still hope :-)

Good luck to anyone with a big day today and everyone who’s having hard time....keep going! I seem to have a new side effect every day this week, I guess that’s the burserelin building up. Frustrates me.
@southernbella74 I miss gym too! I used to do classes most lunchtimes at work. I’ve been doing yoga last week which is relaxing but not been able to face cardio at all.
Has anyone else got on the yoga wagon? Xx

bangsaklove · 11/05/2018 07:50

Ps whoever suggested the mindful ivf app...thank you it’s great. Been listening at lunch after stressful work mornings!!! X

findingmyfeet12 · 11/05/2018 08:09

Happy hang on in there. It's so hard to be positive though, I feel for you.

I haven't had as much as a twinge yet and my boobs aren't sore anymore. It's very early days but I'm hypersensitive to any tiny change in my body (as I'm sure we all are in the tww)

Hope everything is progressing well for everyone else x
