Hi ladies!

Finally have a chance to post. I am officially in the 2ww!
Had a beautiful (they gave us a picture) emby transferred today 4BA.

We have 6 still going. 2 will most likely make it to biopsy and the other 4 are 50/50.

Hope you all are doing really well

Liverpool19 · 19/05/2018 14:46

Good luck pony everything crossed for you xx

Janefx40 · 19/05/2018 17:57

@PonyPals congrats on your beautiful embie! Here's to a relaxing 2WW! When is you official test day?

Xxx

swimchick1980 · 21/05/2018 17:28

PonyPals - amazing, what a wonderful picture!

I swear the worry never stops with this gig. We've been called to an appointment at the hospital as we've come back high risk for Down's syndrome. Appointment tomorrow morning........

Liverpool19 · 21/05/2018 17:46

swim when I was reading up on the tests I read that the results can come back high risk but your baby can not have anything wrong. So I opted not to have the tests. I don’t want the worry all the way through the pregnancy. Fingers crossed it is nothing xx

Blondie84 · 21/05/2018 18:19

Lovely you get a pic @ponypals. Hope you get a nice stress free 2ww.

@swimchick my friends sister had high risk results back too, she was completely torn with what to do and she’s since had a perfectly healthy baby girl. I hope you get all the info you need at the appt tomorrow

swimchick1980 · 21/05/2018 18:39

I wish we hadn't got it done. With DS he was never in the right position in 3 scans so we could well have been high risk but were blissfully unaware.

Liverpool19 · 21/05/2018 18:48

That’s what I want to be aswell swim I just made the decision when I got to the booking appointment as it was really stressing me out. So glad I said no now. One thing after another isn’t it!! Xx

swimchick1980 · 21/05/2018 19:48

Sure is. I was so happy and relieved after the scan, now I'm back to constant worry! One step forward and ten back!

Janefx40 · 21/05/2018 20:24

Hey @swimchick1980 how stressful for you. Hope the appointment goes ok and you get more info. The way I understand it, although there are other measures going into the pot, being slightly older automatically means we are more likely to come up higher risk as that goes into their calculation.

Let us know how you get on

Xx

swimchick1980 · 21/05/2018 21:27

Thanks jane. All you ladies are so wonderful and supportive. I think you're right, a woman of 30 has a 1 in 800 risk whereas a woman of 40 has a 1 in 100, so pretty much accounts for it. We need to see what they say tomorrow but we might go for the harmony test as it's non-invasive. I just think i need to know one way or the other, otherwise i will just worry for the next 6months and that can't be good for anyone.

Thank you again Smile

Janefx40 · 22/05/2018 11:09

Good luck today @swimchick1980

PonyPals · 22/05/2018 11:23

Thanks!
My official day is next Tuesday.
I will def not be testing early!
@swimchick1980 good luck and let us know how you go.
@Janefx40 how are you feeling? Have you had your hcg levels tested? What's next?

Liverpool19 · 22/05/2018 12:56

Let us know how you get on swim

I have again got the brown blood back. It’s been on and off since I went the hospital last week. I know it’s nothing to be concerned about as everything was fine with my scan last Tuesday. It’s just really annoying!!

Janefx40 · 22/05/2018 14:23

@PonyPals how are you feeling. Good idea about not testing early. I only did it the day before because that is when most clinics tell you to test (mine wait an extra day to yours for some reason). I found it hard not to test on a day that I knew was a perfectly valid time to do it!

I'm ok. Well actually I've gone totally nuts. Convinced the pregnancy has already ended and that I won't know because of all the drugs. Had a load of symptoms that more or less disappeared. Clinic refused to do a second blood test so no idea if things are ok. I'd say this is like the 2WW on speed!! Just trying to tell myself that it's ok either way: this positive test was unexpected. If it fails we just revert to our original plan. But it's quite tough actually.

Tigerlily99 · 22/05/2018 18:04

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. I had my coordination appointment and they want me to wait one more cycle for my frozen embryo transfer 😞. I’ll be starting with down regging end of June, feels so far away! X

swimchick1980 · 22/05/2018 18:42

Thanks everyone. Got on OK, though got a bit emotional! Have booked Harmony test for Thursday afternoon. Don't want to take the miscarriage risk of CVS or amniocentesis. Then will see what the results are.

Liverpool, hope the brown blood goes away again pronto.

Pony, good plan waiting until the official test date. Keeping everything crossed for you.

jane, hang in there. I hope everything is ok. Symptoms come and go. It's very easy to say try not to worry but there is nothing to definitely say it has ended and so everything to say it hasn't. Thinking of you.

Tigerlily, sorry your waiting game hadn't ended yet. It will be worth the wait. Keep yourself busy the next couple of months and i hope they pass quickly.

Blondie84 · 22/05/2018 18:46

@liverpool I know it’s easier done but try not to stress. I bled for well over a week in the end (finally stopped now) and once the heavy bleeding had stopped clinic didn’t seem bothered at all about it.

Can you pay for a test to put your mind at rest @jane? Mine were £40 each but totally worth it to put my mind at rest

Janefx40 · 23/05/2018 07:41

Thanks ladies. @Blondie84 was that your own clinic that charged £40? The cheapest I can find is £95 because all the private places insist on a consultation to go with it and interpret the results (which is fair enough really but expensive). I even called my old clinic from last time but they said no.

@Tigerlily99 I'm sorry about the waiting. I know that seems like forever but it will be here sooner than you think. My clinic let me start stims again after just one bleed and in retrospect I don't think my body was ready. We got far fewer eggs. It's frustrating but at least you know you will be giving your embie the best possible chance xxx

Blondie84 · 23/05/2018 08:17

@jane yes it was through my own clinic - we ended up just going private as we’d been trying for 2 years and I couldn’t deal with the year wait they told us we’d be in for with an NHS referral. Ironically had a letter through my GP yest!

That’s really frustrating you have to pay for a consult too. When is your scan booked in for?

Janefx40 · 23/05/2018 09:58

@Blondie84 we did the same thing - did a private round as assumed the wait would be long then NHS came through quite quick (actually it was only my GP messing up that delayed it at all).

I may just pay for one. It won't tell me if the pregnancy is viable but it would tell me if it had already ended. But my DP spoke to the clinic yesterday and managed to get us a scan next Thursday which is the first possible date (that they said wasn't available!) so it feels like less of a wait

X

PonyPals · 23/05/2018 10:53

I'm curious to know how much your cycles cost you?
I am in Australia and there are no free cycles provided by the government... I wonder if perhaps soon there will be.
My ICSI cycle cost $12,000 each.

Blondie84 · 23/05/2018 11:45

Well done to your DP on getting that early scan - it must still feel an age away but every day closer helps! I’m trying to delay actually telling my GP as I don’t want to be put to the bottom of the list if anything does go wrong.

@ponypals my ICSI cycle was about £6k but I’m still having to pay extras for cyclogest etc so price wise sounds fairly similar to Australia.

Janefx40 · 23/05/2018 11:51

@PonyPals at my current clinic ICSI is £5200 but I didn't pay as I was an NHS patient. At my previous clinic the cost of interventions is the same but they do a lot more monitoring so the cycle cost me £10,500 although that did include endoscopy and a cyst aspiration procedure as well as freezing and storage costs. They are the most expensive clinic in the UK tho! Or so I thought until someone on a different thread posted that she's been quoted £19,500!!
