I had my booking in appointment yesterday and got my scan date 1st June. So I will be 13+2. Duno if I’m going to be able to hide it for that long 🙈 I have only put 1lb on so hopefully it stays that way and I can hide for a bit longer 😂

Thanks folks. Exciting @Liverpool19 to be planning the scan. So pleased for you. It makes all this stress seem worth it.

We have no miracles here. 1 is suitable for freezing. 1 has developed more slowly so it is only at day 4 morula stage even tho it is now day 5. We could wait and see if it gets to blastocyst stage tomorrow but there was only 5-10% chance so we went ahead with our original plan and are transferring it. We know it is very unlikely to make it - transferring 1 embryo at my age is unwise let alone one that isn't developing right and when my womb is possibly not at a good stage. But I feel I want to walk away having at least had a chance, however remote.

We think we will take a break then go back to our original clinic after this for another shot at stims. At my age, only having 2 frozen for transfer may not be enough.

Not a happy day. I feel a bit like this is more a farewell ceremony to the cycle rather than a transfer. But there is always a chance

@janefx40, sounds like you want to prepare yourself for the worst which I totally get, but don’t loose all hope! The way my consultant explained it to me, it’s hard for them to really be sure which embryos are likely to result in a healthy pregnancy and which aren’t, even if they make it to day 5. When I was worrying about the quality of my frozen embryos he told me that the classification they use to grade them essentially goes on how ‘pretty’ they look but a less good looking embryo could still have a chance at pregnancy and so not to get too obessed over how the embryologists are grading them. If the embryologists are OK for the embryo to be transferred or frozen then there is still a chance. X

@Janefx40 I'm really sorry you didn't get the result you were hoping for today, but don't lose hope. Like you say there is always a chance, always. That "second rate" embryo might just be your little fighter. I get preparing for the worst, hoping for the best..it's the way we protect ourselves but it's not over until it's over. Try to stay positive 🙂

@Janefx40 it’s so disheartening after all you go through. I think I would make the same decision in your situation.

This is very draining, isn’t it? I’m emotionally and physically sick/ exhausted, and I haven’t even started my treatment again yet! Thinking of you all xx

Has anyone taken co q 10 before ivf? I’m unsure whether to buy, as it is getting really close before my treatment, or if it is even worth trying 😔 thanks xx

I’m feeling loads better today after feeling pretty rough yesterday I’m 7dp5dt. Still not tempted to test. I’d rather have hope in thinking it could be positive than testing and finding out it’s negative. My otd is Saturday - not long to go!

Hi @Elly1685 I'm ok thanks. Have an appointment with early pregnancy unit Friday morning for scan to check everything "ok". Still bleeding but I'm told that's normal.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you but stay strong until test day. There's a reason it's test day! Xx

I’m determined not to test early - plus if I wait till otd then at least it’s a Saturday and I can just hide In bed all day if the news is negative!

This morning I’ve woken up with really bad Hayfever! I usually suffer in the summer months quite badly with it but never this early! And never when it’s raining and being so miserable outside! It’s really odd! Not actually sure what I am allowed to take (if anything) for this so I’m going to put up until Saturday and see what the results are before doing anything else! Dh will have to put up with the 80 sneezes a day 😂

YES I’m holding holding out - just! I’ve bought her a clear blue digital for tomorrow but wondering if I should get a more sensitive one? Or should it be quite obvious 11dp5dt?

I have lost all hope really though - gut feeling maybe? I’ve had no symptoms since 3dp5dt where I had loads of af cramping and absolutely nothing since. I just really don’t feel this one has worked for me. Which is fine. And will probably help with the results tomorrow. DH and I are going to LA in July so we’ve decided if it doesn’t work this time we’re not going to go ahead with frozen transfer until we get back so I can just enjoy the holiday and have a stress free time and then start again afterwards.

It’s good to have a plan - right?!

Hi @Elly1685 I love LA! Have you been there before? I studied there for a few months back in 2008 and had the best time.

Well done for holding out. The CB digital should be nice and clear although non digital CB are rubbish but yes, it does measure at a relatively high level of hcg. I'm always in 2 minds about that - on my last IVF cycle I had a positive (bloods initially before I did any hpts) but very low levels of hcg so it wasn't a viable pregnancy. FRERs gave me positives but I knew it wasn't going to stick. So yes a more sensitive test would tell you more but it could also give you false hope. I think the stronger tests are better.

I'm ok. I know people say "miracles can happen etc" but personally I feel that I need to be realistic - the embryologist said there was a 5% chance of our morula making it to blasto, let alone implanting etc. So I am dreaming about it working but I know really that it is unlikely x

Ah jane it must be so difficult. I think I might just stick to a digital test tomorrow morning then because surely if that doesn’t show anything then it’s not worked for me this time. No sign of AF at the moment but I’ve only ever had one natural AF that hasn’t involved being on the pill or notheristerone so it will be interesting to see what my body does in the next few months.

When do clinics consider you for a frozen transfer? Do you have to wait a while? What’s the process? Injectionscto develop lining? Or just a transfer?!

I went to LA about 4 years ago, my DH and I did a tour of the west coast for a month so we were in LA for 4 days. Did the super touristy stuff but this time we are going for a week to a quieter area where our friend lives, then heading off to Santa Barbara and San Diego for a few days. Where about did you stay in LA @Jane? I’m very excited to be going back :)

I don't think we will do a FET. I think we will have one last go at stims. It may sound nuts but I may need more than 2 embryos to give me a shot. I'd like to have a few more to try - if we use our 2 in one go then we are back at square one.

I have quite bad cramps - is this normal with progesterone? I'm on a much higher dose this time so not sure.

I stayed first in West Hollywood (which I loved) and then in Venice which is also great. I used to like wandering along the beach from Venice to Santa Monica. Or hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whisky bar in West Hollywood. Or getting a frozen yoghurt. Or driving out towards Malibu and stopping at Moonshadows for an overpriced cocktail overlooking the sunset! Ah it is lovely there

elly good luck for tomorrow. Honestly symptoms mean nothing at all! I went to LA after Vegas 3years ago. we stayed in Santa Monica, and went to Malibu for a day and had food in Nobu it was amazing!
San Fran is also brilliant, but Vegas wins my heart Everytime 😂😂

I go to Dubai in June. Can not wait to chill out for a week!

I had loads of cramping with progesterone but It's stopped now. I'm on 800mg a day. How much are you on?

Tomorrow I will be 11dp5dt - some people have told me I shouldn't test till 12dp5dt. What do you think? I don't want to test too early.

I also run out of progesterone tomorrow. The hospital has literally just given me enough. :/

elly test when you have been told to test. My hospital gave me just enough too and as soon as I got my positive days to stop using it. I can’t remember how much I was on on for it. I didn’t have cramps I just felt horrid of it. X

Elly - good luck for tomorrow. I think 11dp5dt should be fine. My official test date was 10dp5dt and i broke and did a treat 2 days (just a cheap internet one) and it came up with a positive.

I'm on 1200 of progesterone. My clinic didn't give me enough until test day but I emailed and they are leaving me a script on reception.
