It’s not something I’ve been told to do, but I tend to drink plenty anyway and it definitely helps keep your veins nice and juicy for blood tests etc. I wouldn’t stress about it but ask your clinic for an explanation. Good luck for your treatment! 😊

csds · 22/02/2018 05:38

Kjackson, i think it has something to do with OHSS. I believe that drinking a lot of water can help prevent it. Xx

It's for people who produce double figure follicles really, so I'd say try and increase your water intake but don't panic, then when you go to your scans if you are told you have double figure follies just try and drink a little bit more.

Drinking water flushes your body basically. And it's good for when you need your veins to show for bloods. So drink as much as possible but don't let it worry you. X

herewegoagain18 · 24/02/2018 09:20

Hi csds

Thankyou for the welcome Smile I will rest and relax i feel really sore/bruised and bloated i felt fine yesterday once home after e.c just drowsy.
I hope 8 is a good number wasnt sure as have read of some women on these boards getting double figures but we are all different of course. I hope there is enough to pick some good ones .

I bet you are in shock i know with my chemical i took about 5 tests the nurses at epu asked why so many. Have you taken a dip or digital if thats ok to ask? I only started to believe after i see the words flash up .
Wishing you well in your pregnancy Smile

Hi tryingtostayrational
I recognise your name from other threads , im sure you have answerd some of my posts before.
Thanks and wishing you well in your journey , have you had your baseline scan ?

I cant believe how nervous i am waiting for the call to say how our eggs/embies have done. I didnt sleep properly but then again was hard to find a comfortable position with my tummy being so sore.

Wow That was a long 2nd post .
Wishing you all well
Xxx

TryingToStayRational · 24/02/2018 09:32

Thanks herewegoagain!

Nothing wrong with 8 - quality not quantity! Having double figures means more chance of OHSS, so it’s not always a great thing. Hope you get good news today :-)

I had my baseline scan on Monday, started merional Tuesday so I’ve got another scan this coming Monday, then a Saturday one and hopefully collection Mon 5th or Weds 7th. Feeling v scared as I’m a big squeamish wuss about medical things so I just want that part to be over Smile

Tryingtostayrational
Thought i replied already , was so anxious for the call.

So same sort of Time frame as me (just a little behind me) a week from starting stimms (?) to monitoring scans. I had 3 booked in one week i was due one yesterday but after my second scan they decided to move my e.c forward. So just be prepared for that possibility!.
I think because mine were so frequent and they could monitor so closely they decided to cancel the last one and move e.c forward before the follicles grew too much .

I think as yours are spread out a bit it will run more to the plan they have given ,though apparently unusal for an ivf cycle to run to all the dates given . ahhh i bet you must be nervous i was terribly nervous for my baseline. Have they given you an idea of what to expect and how they perform scan? Its usally the unknown that is the worst part with medical things i find .

You are perfectly right about quality over quantity. I have been pretty lucky with no ohss symptoms.thanks for the well wishes xx

I got the call 6 fertilized! ShockThey are aiming for a 5 day transfer. Im in shock

DS01 · 24/02/2018 18:48

Csds

They said it takes six weeks as he had to have a blood test to check his immune system so hopefully end of March. If all good we will start our first cycle. Fingers crossed.

Herewegoagain

8 eggs is great I hope the collect as many on my go. I'm really scared to be honest glad they will put me to sleep. If you are sore I guess it's not a good idea to go back to work afterwards?

herewegoagain18 · 25/02/2018 14:07

Hi DS01
I really hope they do or get even more eggs for you . i can understand you being scared i was very nervous though i think that was more for the outcome than procedure. They also cancelled my last monitoring scan and moved my e.c forward it was meant to be this week.i had less than 2 days notice so had to also get my head around that.

I was put under sedation but awake through it all. Felt very drowsy after and fell asleep in recovery then very nauseated for a short while. They dont allow you where i was to leave for the first 2 hours after .

They checked obs like blood pressure and temperature brought me tea and biscuits and even came along with me to the loo (as needed to make sure i was weeing ok) in case i came over dizzy and had any abnormal bleeding and waited outside for me .

They advised before day of e.c to try not to go to work beforehand (mine was done in the morning anyway so no time but applied if i worked night shifts) and said i would defiantly need the day of collection off and most likely the day after.

Before this week i was toying with the idea of going in to work yesterday as day of ec i had already booked off (originally for monitoring scan) and i had two days off following so just a day in between. I thought i could probably manage.

it ended up not working out that way as due to nature of my work ( very physical job) i decided it would be best to take off the tww following e.t. i had to notify work of date of e.c as it moved forward and was possibly only a day between to transfer .too unpredictable and likly to cause stress so i reluctantly took from yesterday.

Now i know Theres no way i could of managed to go in, even just popping out for air to local shops with hubby 10 mins away for i started to feel like i was struggling and had to come home early.

Bad nights sleep last night was still in discomforted and had cramping twinges and felt bloated. Feel a little better now .

We are all different of course plus you will be under. i really hope you have minimal discomfort after. When are you due e.c (sorry if you already said)?
Xxx

herewegoagain18 · 25/02/2018 23:35

Feeling nervous. Hospital may call me early tommorow morning to come in for 3 day transfer. I really hope to get to day 5 transfer.

But if they dont need me in tommorow i wont be contacted will just have to go on Wenesday at given time. So no update from yesterday to Wenesday. Will find out progress at the hospital. Thats a scary thought!

They were very late giving me a call sat, over an hour and a half. Would it be acceptable to give it to say half hour past the given time then send an email just to confirm im not needed in? And possibly progress on embryos. ?

Still feeling bloated uncomfortable and now cramping again. So im worried if they do want me in tommorow.
X

🤞 for you, herewegoagain!

I have my day 6 scan this afternoon to see if I’m responding to stims. I’m feeling really tired and a bit sick, which may just be anxiety. I think I felt better mentally on downreg, and now I’m starting to panic more and feel worried I can’t do this. Hormones are frustrating!

herewegoagain18 · 26/02/2018 10:14

Hi trying

Thankyou they called im on the way now for my transfer! Shock

They said there are two standing out as the best and think its safe to transfer today.

Oh good luck for today! Yes it may well be anxiety. Such a pressurising time. You can do this just take it a step at a time Flowers xxx

TryingToStayRational · 26/02/2018 10:49

Thanks herewegoagain, I’m sure I’ll get my self together again and it’ll be ok.

Good luck for your transfer, am willing you and your embryos on 😊

herewegoagain18 · 26/02/2018 10:58

Thanks trying Smile

And wishing for good results for you today
