Hi, I was wondering if anyone is about to start IVF. Would be good to go through this journey with someone/people. Share experiences etc.

Awww snowday I hope you feel better soon. I’ve never heard that having a cold is a problem and know several people who have conceived naturally while in the throes of flu-type things so hopefully it isn’t an issue. Sending you positive thoughts for your transfer Flowers

kjackson wow that’s a fantastic number of eggs! And great that they are doing half and half - bets are thoroughly hedged! Everything crossed for some great embryos!

As for me, I’m feeling a bit poorly. Look away now if you don’t like TMI!

I am on cyclogest suppositories and they seem to be playing havoc with my digestive system Confused so I’ve been feeling constipated and a bit sick. I called the clinic this morning and they advised this can happen with cyclogest (they said it tends to either go one way or the other - lovely!) so said I should get some laxatives from a
pharmacy, drink lots and try using the cyclogest vaginally rather than rectally. So it has been lots of diluted fruit juice, a bit of prune juice and fybogel for me this morning - yum. Fortunately this seems to have erm moved things along! But am still feeling a bit sick and bloated and generally crap. Is anyone else in the same position? I’ve taken today off sick but am really hoping to be able to work again tomorrow. Am a bit worried about OHSS but I’m eating, drinking and peeing ok so hopefully am just being silly.

Leah2018 · 07/03/2018 14:24

@snowday Ah no, hope you are feeling better and going ahead with ET?

Ladies I need some advice please... I’m due to fly to the US on a work trip next month which would be just after my 2ww, but I’m wondering whether I should go or not?
They say it’s pretty safe to fly during early pregnancy? Would you take the chance and fly? X

Snowdayfet · 07/03/2018 15:40

rational bleurgh sorry you’re feeling rubbish. Do watch out for ohss, lots of fluids and electrolytes just in case. I don’t have a problem with cyclogest but it sounds like good advice from your clinic.

kjackson 17 eggs is fantastic! Hoping you get an excellent day 1 report tomorrow.

leah I travelled a LOT during my last pregnancy (every 2 weeks or so, much of it long haul). It was absolutely fine. As the pregnancy progresses you need compression socks and to drink lots of water —so sad not being able to have a wine on a long haul flight— but there’s no issue with it. This time round I’m actually getting on a plane tomorrow morning! So I wouldn’t worry.

Am on my way to ET - feeling marginally better. Think transfer will be fine - we’ll give it a go anyway as they’ve already defrosted my blast so we should use it now!

Kjackson02 · 08/03/2018 08:55

The embryologist just called and we got 10 fertilised eggs so we are over the moon just have to hope they continue to grow x

TryingToStayRational · 08/03/2018 09:42

Brilliant news, kjackson! Thrilled for you. Another hurdle cleared! Hope you’re recovering well.

How’s everyone else doing?

I’m still feeling like a blimp despite bodily functions seeming reasonably ok so am waiting for call back from clinic to hopefully reassure me. Feel a bit silly like I’m wasting their time but it’s making me anxious wondering if this is a touch of OHSS or just normal bloatedness. I don’t mind feeling crap if I know that it’s normal Hmm

TryingToStayRational · 08/03/2018 12:00

Been reassured by clinic that it’s just the cyclogest and it is normal to feel like an exhausted blimp. Phew. They said as long as I’m eating and drinking and not vomiting it’s ok. Going for a good powerwalk at lunch to hopefully keep the old innards happy! Grin

Snowdayfet · 08/03/2018 13:59

👏🏻👏🏻 kjackson. One more hurdle cleared!

rational thank goodness it’s just the cyclogest

Well I have one hatching AA blastocyst on board. Not feeling that confident - mostly because I am sick as a dog and got zero sleep last night as my son decided to be awake all night. But I can only wait and see now!

TryingToStayRational · 08/03/2018 17:11

Bless you, Snowday - I hope you have a much better night tonight and feel better. Everything crossed for your little blastocyst! Smile

Kjackson02 · 09/03/2018 08:08

Hi just had another call and all 10 are starting divide so fingers crossed it continues, they are taking me up to day 5 blastocyst. Hope everyone is ok x

becky114 · 09/03/2018 08:47

Just had my scan, my left ovary isn't working and hasn't produced any good quality eggs. My right has about 4 -6 eggs so I'm a little disappointed. But I suppose it's quality not quantity. They also found a polyp in my uterus which isn't good but they didn't explain, all they said was that if it doesn't work this time they would consider taking it out next time which is upsetting, can't understand why they can't just take it out this time. Still have my bloods to do. Xxx

Leah2018 · 09/03/2018 08:57

kjackson Yayy great news!! 😊

snowday Thank you for the reassurance with flying, it’s not until next month but flights are booked and you just have to think ahead all the time while going through this process. Was worried about travelling with colleagues with my medication too (as they don’t know I’m doing ivf) but I guess all I will be taking in a months time is the suppositories? (Well hopefully anyway if our first time works 🤞🏼)

tryingto Ah sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish, but glad to hear it is the cyclogest - hopefully it will all be worth it! 😊 How are you feeling now?

Thank god it’s Friday!!
X

TryingToStayRational · 09/03/2018 09:41

Great news kjackson, all going so well.

becky sorry to hear your ovary isn’t playing ball. 4-6 is still good, though - I know you hear of people with tons and tons of eggs, but there are also many people with smaller numbers who do just fine. I’m guessing with the polyp they can’t really remove it at this stage of the cycle. I would think if it was a definite obstacle they would just do a freeze-all and deal with it before transfer, so they must surely think it’s unlikely to be a prob? Why don’t you call them and ask for a bit more explanation to set your mind at ease?

Thanks, Leah - I’m feeling much more human today, thank goodness! I now understand why people hate the suppositories more than injections! Hopefully I’ve adjusted now.

Transfer time for me in the morning. Hoping it won’t be too bad. My HSG still haunts me so I’m kinda expecting it to be like that. At least this time I can think of our little embryo and cling to the excitement! Smile

Snowdayfet · 10/03/2018 06:39

Fabulous news kjackson. Will you get a day 3 report or will they just leave them now until day 5?

Glad you’re feeling better rational. Best of luck for transfer today. Exciting that you’ll be pregnant soon! Grin

Kjackson02 · 10/03/2018 09:34

@Snowdayfet I think they will just leave them until day 5 as I haven't heard from them today so far.

TryingToStayRational · 10/03/2018 11:02

Blastocyst is on board! There was one decent one out of the 7, and there is another one that they are going to let grow for another couple of hours just in case it’s suitable to freeze, but sounds pretty unlikely.

Transfer was so much better than I thought, really not painful at all. Was amazing seeing it all happen on the screen. The staff were amazing Smile

TryingToStayRational · 10/03/2018 12:05

Update: the other potential blastocyst stopped progressing so no Frosties for us. Just gotta hope this little bean works.

becky114 · 10/03/2018 13:07

@TryingToStayRational have everything crossed for you xxx

csds · 10/03/2018 13:10

One is all it takes,🤞tryingto, just relax, eat well and take care of yourself. Positive thoughts x

So sorry to hear that herewegoagain. Hope you are as ok as you can be and have plenty of support. Thinking of you Flowers

herewegoagain18 · 11/03/2018 13:37

Hi Trying

Thankyou, hubby not accepting it's failed until tomorrow. Family members that have been very supportive and excited/hopeful not aware as he doesn't want us to say anything yet. So it's hard at the moment. Struggling espically with today.

I'm sorry you didn't get any frosties but your embryos and you have done so well. Fingers crossed for your sticky bean
Xxx

Kjackson02 · 11/03/2018 13:40

@herewegoagain18 sorry to hear the news, but like your hubby said nothing is ruled out until tomorrow so everything is still crossed for you both. You have done amazingly well and come so far xx

herewegoagain18 · 11/03/2018 14:15

kjackson

Thankyou for your kind message.
Hubby is going on the basis of other woman in his family having some bleeding in pregnancy and it's all been fine.

I started with feeling just like af was on the way the evening before but hoped by morning the aching might have gone .

Woke up with heavy tummy then within a morning was spotting to then full on bleed . This will be Tmi . bright red with big clots and horrible pains. It got heavier and it's just like af if not heavier (probably down to thicker lining and drugs this month).

Has progressed like af started to trail off last couple of days lasted the same amount of time. Negative test was yesterday with Fmu.

I really do appreciate your hopefulness your post means a lot.
I hope your e.t goes well and the tww is as stress free as possible for you. Best of luck.
Xx

herewegoagain18 · 12/03/2018 09:14

Hi hope everyone is OK

Today is my otd. Tested with fmu . Negative. So it's officially failed.
So heartbroken.

X

Snowdayfet · 12/03/2018 09:21
