Hey Leah and becky, I had scans on days 3 and 10 of stims (day 10 was today) and will be having collection on what would have been day 12. But the timeline does depend on the person and the clinic slightly. If my scan today hadn't shown enough follicles the right size I would have had a couple of extra days stims and collection on Weds (day 14).
It's hard when you are used to being in control of things, it really is, but you'll ride it out. I pencilled in all the potential options into my diary to try to avoid anything clashing, and just scrubbed things out as things became clearer.
Just done my trigger shot (Gonasi, which I'm told is the same as pregnyl) and I can report that it didn't hurt. I'd heard horror stories about it being agonising and was almost as nervous as I was for my first injection, but I was worried for nothing. A lesson in not listening to horror stories - I'll never learn!
Thank you for all the reassuring comments about egg collection, they have helped me calm down a bit and see sense. My partner will be with me and it is a conscious sedation, so apparently I'll be vaguely aware of stuff but shouldn't feel much. My clinic doesn't offer general anaesthetic. I've also spoken to a friend who had egg collection with only a local, and she said it was not a barrel of laughs but was really not that bad. Apparently that is standard in Denmark, and if people were freaking out and jumping around on the table I'm sure that it wouldn't be!
