Thank you @Mytimenow - it’s great hearing such a positive story! Xxx

Alicejj8x · 19/02/2018 20:37

@Animagus that's good news you now know the outcome.

Funny how your period has made a come back but just keep an eye on it as it could go funny again but that's good they have made a come back on their own as that helps with ovulation :) x

Re: getting help after 1 year of trying - I think this may be right. We have been trying (more so not preventing it) scince I came off the pill late 2014 but when I was put on Metformin it was around 6 months after the first time I had been to see my GP about my irregular periods which prompted the blood tests, scans, and then finding out it’s PCOS. GP expecting me back after 6months of Metformin if not working which I am on month 4/6 at the mo. So when I go back it will be altogether 1 year of proper TTC, I presume that’s why DR has given me this time scale as it shows 1 year of appts to where I am now, and I presume it will help me with any further referrals that will be made, she spoke about fertility clinic and one possible route being ovarian drilling which just the thought of makes me go weird!!

Congrats on the recent BFP!!

AmyL88 · 21/02/2018 16:42

@MermaidTail7 Congrats on your BFP...Lets hope the good luck continues.

I have been MIA for a while. Went back for my follow up consultant appt (which i was adamant when i booked it in Sept i would be pregnant by Feb 18...clearly not!) Anyway he has prescribed me another 3 months of clomid 150mg which i am so grateful for! Also started me on Metformin this week, so far i am on 1 tablet a day but need to up to 3 which i am not looking forward too, no wonder people say it helps with weight loss i haven't been off the toilet! Sorry TMI!!

Also started acupuncture this week, taking all the supplements going and booked in for a HyCosy next Wed Confused I feel like if i don't catch after all this i will give up!!!

Nice to see some new ladies on the thread, I have been here for a while and the 'usual's' I was speaking too have all had their BFP's which is amazing but hoping I'm not too far behind them!

In terms of the referral, i really pushed my GP to refer me to the Fertility Specialist as PCOS had been diagnosed it seemed silly to wait until we had been trying for a year (even though we had been trying for 3 years with one MC) when they know you are going to need assistance with TTC. Clomid was prescribed to me on my first appt which saved so much time. Try and push your GP as much as possible to refer you x

Sunny1984 · 22/02/2018 10:17

Huge congratulations on all the BFPs ☺️ so happy for you all.

Sorry I have been MIA and hope it’s ok to rejoin the thread in the near future as I found out last week I had a Missed Miscarriage at 10+3 😢💔 utterly devastated. I had surgery on Monday and just trying to get my head around it all right now.

Really don’t know what will be my next options as I don’t think I can have any Clomid. Just hoped as we’d got so far this was it 😔.

Sorry to bring down the mood of the thread xxx

Oh @Sunny1984 So so sorry to hear that. I went through similar last year and it was tough for a while so be kind to yourself. My Period didn't return for 12 weeks after which was a s**t one as I was so desperate to try again. Looking back now even though I still haven't had a BFP i feel so much more in control and positive. Was this your first MC? Why don't you think you will be prescribed clomid? Can i ask if you are taking any other medication? Metformin for example? I know MC's happen alot but when i researched it they seem even more common with PCOS ladies. Confused

MermaidTail7 · 22/02/2018 11:06

Oh Sunny1984 you poor thing, I am so sorry for your loss... Thinking of you Flowers

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 11:34

Oh @Sunny1984 I am so so sorry for your loss I to had a MMC in 2016 so I no how your feeling.

Anything we can do to try help you through just let us know xxxx

intrigued2018 · 22/02/2018 11:55

@Sunny1984 - I am soooooooo sorry to hear this! Devastated for you and DH, thinking of you 😘 😘 Look after yourself and take time to recover xxx

Sunny1984 · 22/02/2018 13:26

Thank you so much ladies ❤️

It sounds silly but even though I thought something might not have been right from a scan I had a few weeks ago it’s still hit me really hard. I just hoped I was over worrying as the consultant who had scanned me was convinced everything was ok because there was a baby and a heartbeat. I just knew my dates should have been further along than I was measuring.

I’m so sorry for your losses Alice and Amy. How many weeks were you when you miscarried?

Amy when I saw the consultant in September he said the round in December would be my last and advised that if I didn’t get pregnant to move onto IVF. I’m seeing him next month so will ask again. Yes I’ve been on full dose metformin since last January but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have made any difference for me 😔.

How many weeks is everyone that got their BFPs? Have you got any scans booked yet?

So sorry sunny1984, big hugs to you. X

MermaidTail7 · 22/02/2018 13:48

sunny1984 I'm 4+4 according to the first day of my last period, but I think I'm about 3 weeks from when I suspect I ovulated... We have my early scan at the fertility clinic in about two weeks. I'm booked in to see my GP next week though.

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 22/02/2018 14:41

I've got an early scan tonight with my lovely consultant but just feel sick to my stomach about it. Should be 7 weeks tomorrow so will see what the scan shows.

MermaidTail7 · 22/02/2018 14:56

Hope it goes OK ConfusionIsNothingNew

intrigued2018 · 22/02/2018 15:12

Good luck tonight ConfusionIsNothingNew x

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 15:31

@Sunny1984 I am truly so so sorry :(

I didn't have a clue I was pregnant till I was 10 weeks gone but when I went for my scan the lady told me I had lost the baby at 6 weeks so it was a very hard time but I feel for you so so much :(

I think I am extra worried about my scan next week because of what I know can go wrong

I am praying you will be okay and honestly wish you all the luck in the world for the future xxxxxxx

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 15:33

@ConfusionIsNothingNew good luck with your scan tonight.

@MermaidTail7 I think we are around the same time good luck with your scan in 2 weeks time :)
I went for my scan Monday and they said I had to come back Wednesday of next week as they said everything in the right place but no sac was seen as of yet.

Xx

AmyL88 · 22/02/2018 15:37

@ConfusionIsNothingNew Good Luck tonight. Let us know how you get on.

@Sunny1984 I found out i had MMC at my 12 week scan, had no clue anything was wrong (why would i?!) So was a real shocker the sonographer said it was probably around 10 weeks it happen based on size. I also had the surgery as i really didn't want to go through that naturally.
Is it worth pushing your consultant for a couple more months with clomid once you are ready to TTC again?

MermaidTail7 · 22/02/2018 16:10

Good luck for your scan next week Alicejj8x- I'm not sure how i am go NG to. Manage another two and a bit weeks wait for the first early scan, but my fertility clinic were adamant when I phoned them that that was the soonest they were prepared to scan me because before then they said they'd be very limited as to what they would be able to see... Apparently its going to be a transvaginal scan rather than an altrasound, so I shall be telling the nurse to be super gentle!!!
I have another routine appointment at the same clinic next week, so I am hoping I might be able to get a few sneaky questions answered then too Grin

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 16:28

@MermaidTail7 thank you.

Tbh I think the way your fertility clinic has booked your scans in is really good.

They booked me in for mine Monday and was like we can't see anything we think your too early but it's in the correct place and no cause for concern around the little blob so in a way I wish they would of just left me abit but I guess each fertility clinic is different just wish I would of said no and left it a few weeks but hey ho
So another scan wednedsy to see what they can see but I know for 100% I ovulated on jan 26th weekend.

Oh have you had an internal scan before?.. I promise you they aren't as bad as you think. I've had lots now and they are painless and over very quickly. Once it's in I think that's the initial bit you worry about but then you just focus on the screen and forget what happening kind of thing. If your abit sensitive ask for a non latex one otherwise I found I come away so sore and irritated.

Fingers crossed plz let me know how you get on

Yes defo ask for sneaky questions to your gp have you had bloods done at all? Xxx

MermaidTail7 · 22/02/2018 18:17

Alicejj8x.. I've been having treatment for PCOS since last August and this was my third round of Clomid, so after my HyCoSy to diagnose PCOS I've been having transvaginal scans three-fourths times a month for the follicle tracking with clomid.. So I'm pretty used to them now (I'd be happy never to have a HyCoSy again though!!) I'm just irrationally concerned about someone poking around up there when there will hopefully be a healhy little bean in there trying to get comfy!!!

I'll definately keep you all updated on how I get on next week, and at the scan when it finally comes round... Let me know how your scan goes next week too x

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 20:31

@ConfusionIsNothingNew how was your scan hun?..

@MermaidTail7 ohh wow yeh I see! I get what you mean with the internal one disrupting little bean's home I always think will this harm anything lol.

Thank you I shall do :) just fingers crossed everything has progressed next week :/ I get so worried as today for instance expect the tiredness I don't feel pregnant at all :/ x

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 22/02/2018 21:00

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, we saw our little bean on a scan this evening with a good strong heartbeat so for today at least everything is ok.

Alicejj8x · 22/02/2018 21:09

@ConfusionIsNothingNew congratulations. I
Am sooo happy for you SmileThanks
