Hi ladies
I hope you don't me joining this thread. I am due to have my information session at Barts next Wednesday and hope to start the short protocol around Easter weekend - first time. Unsure about this though due to period due that weekend and clinic may not be open because of bank holidays.

Background about me, I'm 30 and husband is 32. We have been diagnosed with unexplained fertility apparently. I have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome. My FSH level in January this year was 9.9 which I found a little worrying but apparently no cause for concern. It was 6.5 in May 2016. Partner received his bloods back and apparently he has low testosterone levels but his semen was 'above average, apparently.

We have trying for 8 years and actively trying ovulation tests etc and going through the NHS fertility diagnosis for nearly five now. We were due to have IVF in 2016 but my due dates would of literally clashed with our wedding so we decided to hold off. Unfortunately in this time period NHS cut IVF funding in my borough from 3 to 1. We was gutted and still not sure if we made the right decision going ahead with the wedding instead of IVF.

Thank you star

Xx

Aliona19 · 14/03/2018 19:04

Liverpool 😂 I know, pessaries are very very annoying. It actually doesn’t create any discomfort or mess afterwards but just the idea is 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Plus for me it’s 3 times a days and sometimes u just outside shopping and my alarm goes off and you just where am I supposed to do that 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Liverpool19 · 14/03/2018 19:17

Oh that is so annoying aliona I only start mine on Thursday night. Then I can change to my front after transfer 😂 people say you have no dignity left after childbirth buy it’s safe to say mine has gone whilst doing all this 😂😂

Aliona19 · 14/03/2018 19:37

Liverpool 😅😅 but I reckon back is much better. No mess and no worries that it will come out

Liverpool19 · 14/03/2018 20:07

😳😳 the nurse I had today said they would dissolve 🙈

Aliona19 · 14/03/2018 20:12

Liverpool 😂😂😂😂😂 come out as if leak out as they melt

Minster2012 · 14/03/2018 21:09

Hi winnie welcome, that’s really crap about cutting back on the 3 tries but it’s done now so try not to dwell, for a few of here it has worked first time so don’t be down lovely 💕😁

liverpool 10 eggs that’s brilliant!! Get you egg machine!! Pessaries are crap (so I’m told, I missed that bit!) my friend just had vaginal ones (it said on the box vaginak so no choice for her) and yes they leaked, we were told on the surrogacy forum to stock up on panty liners and it’s jot actine for your best jeans in afraid as it can ruin them 🙈😱 and my poor friends OH was like “my wife used to be sexy til you did this to her!, if you’d have told me this was part of it I might not have agreed!!” Obviously he was joking but it’s a good point, not nice for a baby that’s not yours!!

aliona why are you miserable??

Liverpool19 · 14/03/2018 21:23

You really don’t realise how not sexy this all us until you are there with your legs in the air 3 times a week and sticking pessarys up your bum 😂😂

Minster2012 · 14/03/2018 21:51

Oh yeah it’s the best!!

Aliona19 · 15/03/2018 06:01

Don’t know, Minster. Just feel shattered. Every day overtime, stress at work, they piling up jobs on us and I can’t even say anything. Also feel like a poop and sickness haven’t even started. Whoever says pregnancy is wonderful time they are lying. Greatfull? Yes. Doesn’t make me feel better. Also whoever knows cheering and I feel angry, bcoz it still may not work, you living in constant fear..dying to tell my mum but stopping myself in case of heartbreak if something goes wrong again. Just sick of this feeling of fear..😭😭

Minster2012 · 15/03/2018 07:08

But aliona tiredness is also a symptom of pregnancy, and the fear is very real for us ladies, the fear is it going wrong is horrible. Why not try and make something nice to try and look forward to each week? A date night with OH or go and see friends or meet star or dbear or do your nails?! Then focus your mind on getting to that day in the week and that will be another week gone by xx

PonyPals · 15/03/2018 09:19

I'm sorry you feel that way @Aliona19. It does get better once you get past a 'safe' point.

Is there anyone else on 2 week wait with me?????

Liverpool19 · 15/03/2018 09:36

7 of my eggs have fertilised. I go Monday Afternoon for 1 to be put back in.

PonyPals · 15/03/2018 09:49

How exciting!!! Congratulations. That's a great number. Looking forward to being in the 2ww with you

Liverpool19 · 15/03/2018 09:56

How far into it now are you pony? Feeling ok? Xx

Starlumiere · 15/03/2018 10:45

PonyPals · 15/03/2018 10:55

I'm 4dp5dt... and I can't believe how slow time is moving!!
I am certainly analysing every single twinge. Feeling so bloated and tired today but It's really hard though with all the side effects from the drugs, who knows what's real

Test day is Friday 23rd March but I might cave in on Thursday and poas!

Thanks @Starlumiere! Where in the process are you?

Starlumiere · 15/03/2018 11:05

@PonyPals Hi sweetie, I did my first ICSI back in November, they put 2 embies because of my age (44) and got a BFP but miscarried both the last week of December. Planned to do it again in Feb but did not feel ready. Thought April, but will do it in June and really looking forward to it! In the meantime I am checking all your progress and enjoying life :-).

Yes the 2WW is quite challenging sweetie, sometimes it will feel slow then quick then fear then ok - then confusing! The truth is it passes all very quickly but we fear the outcome, which is normal. And yes the drugs we take give pregnancy symptoms but it so very hard not to symptoms check! All the best darling!! Hang in there and if you decide to POAS before you day then so be it! Make yourself happy! XXX

@Aliona it is normal you have this fear, hang in there sweetie, hang in there... XXX

Aliona19 · 15/03/2018 12:50

I know, Minster, but work is really messed up last few weeks coz one member of team gone and we keep getting this morons from agency.. so I have to do double job andalways stay extra hours. Coming home and just feel like going straight to bed. Usually chatting to Star each evening, but last week we spoke like once or twice. Really hope it’s a good sign. I can’t even explain it, generally feeling low.

PonyPals do you really think that? Let’s speak in 3 month and see how many new worries will pop up after safe point 😅😅😂

Liverpool great result! Everything crossed for u xx

Aliona19 · 15/03/2018 12:51

Star I am hanging 😅 but when I feel little more chatty, I might need your famous pep talk again 😅

Liverpool19 · 15/03/2018 13:49

pony just try and entertain yourself best you can without thinking about it. I know that’s easy for me to say Cos I know I will probably be having meltdowns 😂 and I know 100% I will be wanting to test early.

Thank you star and aliona

Xx
