swimchick1980 Haha usual story. I have felt this way 100 times 😅 it’s normal. Glad u have done it, my first needle-I spend hour sitting starring at it x

Jane “closest” lol not closet 🤦🏻‍♀️ Well it’s not easy for us and he should support you Whenever you feel like talking about it. So don’t worry about it x

Hope everyone has a nice day despite little arguments and sad moments. Loads of ❤️❤️❤️ To everyone

Aliona19 · 14/02/2018 22:59

Lol minster “condoms ready” haha how funny. I remember the look on cashiers face at Asda when I was buying pack of condoms and “trying to conceive” vitamins 😅🤦🏻‍♀️ I could see she wanted to say something. Hope u had a nice day ❤️

swimchick1980 · 14/02/2018 23:26

Minster, what an amazing story - definitely put a smile on my face and giving me hope that anything can happen. Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.

Aliona, glad it's not just me. I genuinely could have stabbed him with the needle! He kept letting out massive sighs when i wold go to do it and then have a wobble. But he refused to do it for me. Anyway, it's done now and i know it's totally fine. Apparently "we'll talk about it in the morning". Meanwhile, i have eaten the chocolates i bought him for Valentine's Day Grin

Hi All!!

Sorry to be MIA !

Jane I am sorry to hear your news, it will take a while to process everything but Star is right, time will heal and your be fighting fit to start the next cycle again soon! And you should talk to the other half about it, my hubby wants to talk about it more !

Star lovely those holiday places look incredible, a woman after my own heart I LOVE a holiday!

Aliona Your boos sounds like a jerk, but you don't not have to tell him anything and Jane is right if you were trying naturally then you wouldn't say anything! maybe just say you have a bad case of athletes foot or something LOL.

swim welcome, don't worry the first steps in IVF are the scariest and then after that it's fine. I always did stomach injections and after a while you do become used to them, make sure you push the plunger down slowly (it will be less stingy!).

Liverpool enjoy Dubai it's all systems go after that eakkkk! best of luck to you!

Minster March will come around so quickly !! hows bump? Any more boy names in the mix?

rose dinks I hope your both doing amazingly well xxx

Update on me - it's 9dp5dt (9 days post 5 day transfer) and I'm feeling completely normal, full of energy and positive! I think ive just accepted what will be will be I can't change the outcome so just gotta roll with the punches.

My test day is Saturday but we have a bday party to go to so I may just not do it until sunday or do it tomorrow....or not at all!! LOL I don't know what to do ..advice anyone?

sorry if I've missed someone!

Much love xxx

@Dbear, well you know you want to know, but you are afraid to know, - so realistically any day will do (Friday, Saturday or Sunday), thus I would say, do it when you feel ready. I have everything crossed for you XXX

@swimchick1980 well don on your first Gonal F injection! From now on it will be plain sailing honey pie ! Wink.

@Minster 17 weeks already? Bless! It must be so wonderful!!! Let us know how it all went! Yes I do understand your DH, but holidays are a must!

@Liverpool19 enjoy your holiday!!!

@Alyona you are so close sweetie! so close now Smile

@Janefx40 you and all of us need support. This IVF/ICSI journey is not easy! I hope you are planning some great stuff to make you smile and forget about it all for now. XXXX

2 weeks from now I should be starting injecting. All I have to do now is wait for my meds and my AF. Round 2!!!

I am so busy at work it is unreal but tomorrow is Friday so there is light at the end of the tunnel. The good news is I have pretty much done all my Business Plans until March next year Grin so will be able to relax and NOT travel Smile. Mission accomplished. Now let's get a ready to create a baby.

I have to share something with you; last night in my dream my OH was sitting close to me feeding milk to a little boy, so small! Then he placed his little face on one side. I looked at him and he looked perfect, with his perfect nose and his perfect lips. He was fair color like OH blond with blue eyes. His little head fit in OH's hand, then I said he looks a lot like you, then OH turned his head to look at him, I compared the two face and then I said, well he does look like me as well quite a lot! Then I realized it was OUR son and was thinking - why am i preparing for another IVF if we have him?????? I was confused and thought maybe for a second one? I can remember his face perfectly right now, a perfect mix of OH and I. Of course I am crying! It was so beautiful! No name though.....So second time lucky all the way!!! Smile. Until my last breath, whatever happens I will remember his beautiful little face!

Liverpool19 · 15/02/2018 18:18

If I have my transfer on the later date I will be testing on a christening where I am god mother so I’m hoping for the earlier transfer so I can test days before 😂 ahh star what a lovely dream!! I hope it comes true for you. 17 weeks minister that’s so amazing.
swimchick welcome 🤗

Janefx40 · 15/02/2018 19:07

@Liverpool19 2 days in! Yay. The journey has begun.

@swimchick1980 this group has been so helpful. There are lots of different stages so it's good to have people to chat to and ask about stuff.

@Dbear35 it's a toughie. Only you know how you would best handle the news. Of course it depends on the result. A positive and it will be Party time!!! If you think you wouldn't be able to cope with the party if it was negative then you could wait a day! I'm not sure I could do that myself. But hopefully the result is going to be positive anyway! I have faith!

The one thing I have learnt from round 1 IVF is that we don't have a clue what was going on. I was convinced I wasn't pregnant but actually something was happening in there. When I was sure it was all over, the hcg was actually shooting up! There's just no way of knowing until we take that test

Xxxx

Minster2012 · 16/02/2018 22:04

Just a quick post as I’ve just briefly read everyone’s news, star what a beautiful dream, savour it, better than mine where I dreamt last night we found another slow heartbeat in my friend (had Midwife’s appointments yesterday and all was well heartbeat perfect!) and was twins but there were problems so not a good dream 😕

dbear everything crossed for you whichever day it is 💕love n hugs and I think what jane just said seems to be totally true, people never know what going on, let’s face it, it’s so small that it all happens cellular by it’s only human nature to over analyse but I think it’s best to try and keep busy and not think about it as abuthing could be happening inside so keep the faith ladies when in 2ww xxxx

Dbear35 · 18/02/2018 20:55

Evening ladies!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful wkend!?

So it’s a BFP for me! 11dp5dt Whoop! We tested yesterday and I’m in shock I’ve never once had a positive pregnancy test ! DH was dancing all over the bedroom and I was an emotional wreck! Lol

It’s early days still and no I’m in unchartered waters but no matter what happens going forward this result has made my world! My body can do it!

Thank you all for being on this journey with me so far, I don’t know what I would have done without your advice, guidance and support! 😘

I will catch up individually tomorrow.

Much love to all.

XxX

ivyf · 19/02/2018 09:39

Morning! I am based in the NE UK and have just been referred for IVF so just waiting for my first app (which could be 18 weeks away!).

We have been trying since early 2013 and we have done it all ..... injectables, clomid, pessaries, X-rays, ovarian drilling! I have PCOS and even though my body has reacted really well (far too well some months) to the gonal-f injections we have never had a positive so decided to take the plunge and ask to be referred onwards!

I am actually still fairly positive about it all (I have melt downs ever now and then) - when I was taking gonal-f and hcg shot my body loved producing eggs so I am hoping these guys can just pick out my best ones and set them up with my DH best swimmers! Et voila .... easy as that!! 😬

Up until now I have always just lurked in the background of these forums reading everyone else's experiences but felt it was about time I got involved as I have been through a lot and may be able pass on some words of wisdom!!

Looking forward to chatting to you all xxx

Starlumiere · 19/02/2018 09:58

hi @ivyf! Welcome sweetie! It sound like you went through a lot bless you. I ahve everything crossed that all will go very well for you darling XXX

RoseWrites · 19/02/2018 10:03

Dbear I AM SO PLEASED FOR YOU! WHOOP! i actually did a whoop out loud! You must be DELIGHTED! :)

xx

ivyf · 19/02/2018 10:43

Thank you @Starlumiere! I have moments where I get upset but I am am hopeful and if it doesn't work we will adopt! Plenty of babies out there that need loving homes! Where are you in this whole process? Have read some of the old posts but it's gets quite conffuzling! x

Minster2012 · 19/02/2018 13:33

ivy hi and welcome! I’m in north east too! Whereabouts are you (I don’t have to say if u don’t want!) don’t give up hope and if you get down we can help!

If it doesn’t work & u still have embryos in ice then surrogacy could be an option, I knew nothing about it until it was our only option (but my best friend is our surrogate) but there are strangers who u match with who do it for others where all options have failed & we would have done that after our research. But it’s v costly, anyway, just a thought, however, for many ppl IVF works once u get rid of the annoying bits in the middle that aren’t working & do it in a lab then pop u & DHs best partnership back it can work amazingly!!!

swimchick1980 · 19/02/2018 17:49

@Dbear35 - wonderful news, congratulations!

@ivyf - welcome, hope you get your first appointment soon and good you're feeling positive about everything, the best way to be.

I had my first scan today. Follicles coming along nicely - one above 16 (i have no idea what this number means!) and some not far behind. Earliest date they could do the egg retrieval is Friday or maybe start of next week. Another scan on Wednesday and fingers crossed we'll have a plan then

ivyf · 19/02/2018 19:19

Hi @Minster2012 I live in South Shields! How about you? Yes I'm hoping my eggs and his swimmers are just a bit shy and need someone to push them into meeting! There are so many options aren't there? For now I am going to concentrate on IVF and push to lose a bit extra weight! I am not huge but could do with shifting a little bit more so the plan is to do this whilst I wait for my app!

@swimchick1980 ..... those numbers I think are really good! I'm sure they like good eggs to be between 15-20 .... I think this means you have good plump eggs ready to make babies with!! x

Minster2012 · 19/02/2018 21:01

@swimchick1980 I think those numbers are great, I can’t remember exactly how big the follicles need to be, I think it might be 17 as my EC was last Easter & I’ve got my next appointment to start again tomorrow but from what I remember that’s really good! U want them big but not too big so they don’t over mature too quickly u need them to mature with the trigger shot! I think you are perfectly on track!

@ivyf I’m East Yorkshire, hull for our IVF, Leeds for my cancer treatment. My first round of NHS worked (well, 1 embryo growing into a baby in my best friend currently as a surrogate) so now I’m self funding a round of embryo freezing to see if we can get any more embryos to put in the freezer just in case we can ever use them. Our NHS clinic is really good, they operate as a private clinic too so we get to use the same one for our new round of EC/fertilisation. There are lots of options & it is tough but science is brilliant and if you’ve been trying for a number of years like you have been doing then hey why not get the specialists in to nudge em in the right direction!! Grin

swimchick1980 · 19/02/2018 21:56

Thanks, sounds good then. Fingers crossed.....

swimchick1980 · 21/02/2018 09:14

I had a scan this morning and it looks like Friday for egg collection. It's all becoming very real now and I'm starting to get really nervous!

Minster2012 · 21/02/2018 13:34

That’s great swimchick! Friday, it does get real, and EC is no walk in the park but it’s not bad, after all you are asleep! But it’s the day after that you are likely to be sore so don’t drive or arrange to do anything much. We all took slippers, dressing gown, a book and a snack in with us as a few ppl were waiting for theirs, mine was meant to be first thing last time but it took them nearly an hour to find a vein to put the drugs in!! So make sure you have someone to look after you afterwards but it’s fine, don’t forget it’s all about the end game no matter how many or little you get it’s the embryos you’re after so don’t get bogged down in comparison at each stage xxx

I got my drugs yesterday & the go ahead to try and start ASAP so I’m now taking 5 days of norethisterone to try & kick start AF after the 5 days then it’ll be stim stabbing for me again! Once again the nurse gave me a lecture on my low AMH and so not to get my hopes up, we may get no eggs, we def will get only a few but instead of bursting into hysteric tears like last time, this time I was all “meh this is only back up” (albeit really expensive back up and we’d still love a sibling if we could in the future but that’s not why we are doing it) the pressure we feel is off this time.

Bring it on!!

How is everyone else? Xx
