Thanks guys. He initially said they would scan me then changed his mind while we were talking because he said they wouldn't be able to see anything yet. I will ask for one when I go in in the morning for bloods.

@Liverpool19 sorry for being selfish and ignoring your news. Exciting that it is happening. I was totally freaked by the drugs but honestly it is fine - hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.

@Summerloving17 Thank you for sharing your experience. Sorry you had an ectopic - yes maybe we will have a miracle but ectopic is more likely. I'm having a fairly normal period at this point tho so hoping it was an anomaly and will have gone down tomorrow

@Minster2012 March is soon!!!! Yay xxx

Starlumiere · 12/02/2018 21:27

I just got to my hotel in Milan and I am knackered!

27th/28th of February @Liverpool19? start of March @Minster? Well we will be buddies then since I am supposed to start around the 26th/27th of February with the EC planned for the week of the 12th of March. It is approaching fast, but I concur with Janefx40 @Liverpool19 it is all good and you will be doing fine.

@Janefx40 I am glad you are seeing your consultant tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Lots of love to all,
XXX

@Dinksandbings & @Minster this is where I stayed in Santorini (my room was the one with the Jacuzzi and spectacular view on the balcony):

For Corsica La villa vista as I said was absolutely amazing! I am going back this year but don't know when. Some better pics of the place:

As for Portugal, well let me know if you want more info.

I LOVEEEE my holidayssss !!

Janefx40 · 13/02/2018 08:09

@Starlumiere ooo what lovely places. Makes me want to go on holiday.

They scanned me this morning (actually without me asking). No sign of ectopic at this point - no internal bleeding or anything. They will keep scanning if numbers continue to rise but as I'm on my period now, I'm expecting them to fall.

@Aliona19 some people don't show for months!! Others just look like they've put on some weight. I reckon you can hide the bump until end of probation period xxx

Starlumiere · 13/02/2018 09:08

@Janefx40, plan a holioday then, why not? You earned it and will come back fresher than ever! I am so glad all is in order, although I would have wanted a different outcome for you sweetie. But now you know the drill and you will rest, have fun and all and coming April you will get your BFP! Are you still in London or gone back home now?

As for me I am now preparing for my very important meeting.....speak later ladies!

Hi everyone, I'm on my first IVF/ICSI cycle. Got my Prostap flare injection yesterday and starting Gonal F injections tomorrow. I was told to administer either on my leg or tummy. Anyone got any recommendations as to the least painful of the 2? Thanks.

Starlumiere · 13/02/2018 09:35

Welcome @swimchick1980 and all the best on your journey! Apparently where there is more fat. It all depends on the clinic, mine says tummy...you will see Gonal F or the rest are absolutely fine!

So in short the less painful is where you more fat as you need to pinch, stab and then release.

Aliona19 · 13/02/2018 12:33

Hi swimchick1980 👋🏼 I prefer tummy. The only time i was doing it in my leg was with cetrotide I think as it has tiny thin needle so was ok. But still prefer tummy x

Jane I hope you ok and not too upset, sorry u have to go through this xx
As for showing, I had funny conversations with my boss.. I got asked what was the appointment for..and I said “it’s private” and he replied “haha fair enough. You better not be pregnant. If so, tell me before your probation is up” 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I am very cross with this kind of joke but not funny. So if I do get positive result, I am going to look like right nob telling him I am pregnant 😒 very uncomfortable

Janefx40 · 13/02/2018 14:56

@Aliona19 what an eejit he is. Well tough titties - you do not need to tell him anything. And if you do tell him, and he doesn't keep you on, you can probably take him to a tribunal for unfair dismissal. Grrrr.

Don't worry about it. No one would be expected to share that they were trying for a baby naturally so why should you share this?!

Forget about that and focus on taking care of yourself

Xxx

swimchick1980 · 13/02/2018 15:09

Thanks - I have plenty fat in both areas but I think I'll go tummy. I'm trying to get DH to do it as my Valentines present (!) but he is claiming needle phobia (first time he has mentioned this in 11 years of being together).....

Janefx40 · 13/02/2018 15:59

Btw my hcg has gone back down to 51 so no more worries about ectopic etc. Now can just get back to feeling sad that it hasn't worked x

Liverpool19 · 13/02/2018 17:14

So, back from the hospital today all being well I will be injecting from the 3rd March. I have my baseline scan 1st March. With egg collection either the 14th, 15th or 16th March. I had the lovely catheter test aswell today 🙄

Liverpool19 · 13/02/2018 17:17

jane I hope you are ok, your not selfish at all! Defiantly plan a holiday. I’m off to Dubai tomorrow morning ☀️ Then come back and I’m ready to start injections a week later! Happy that I have some people to share this with also. ☺️

Aliona19 · 13/02/2018 18:44

Jane I know, but it’s probation and he can come up with any excuse.. although my colleagues were around when he joked like that. Anyway, doesn’t matter. Just pissed me off really. After miscarriage to hear “I hope u not pregnant” was way to much. I had to put myself together not to say back “well I hope I bloody will”.. How r u? Don’t feel sad. There is always reason for that. Next time will work xx

Liverpool exciting huh? First injection is the worst as u don’t know what to expect but once u have done it all u think is “pfff that’s it??!” U will be just fine x

Liverpool19 · 13/02/2018 18:54

aliona exciting, scary and nervous all in one 😂 all my managers in work are male and have no clue how to do with our situation. Mine main manager has been that much of an idiot I’ve had to get my union involved and my rep is my go between because I’m about to punch him in his face 😂 x

Aliona19 · 13/02/2018 19:28

Liverpool lol can I hire you for a day to deal with my bosses too?!? 😅😅

Liverpool19 · 13/02/2018 19:52

aliona anytime 😂

Starlumiere · 14/02/2018 16:57

Just landed in Heathrow, gosh I am so glad to be home! Knackered though, I was in back to back meetings. Anyway, I am home now 😬.

Got a positive ovulation on my test yesterday so my AF should start in 2 weeks time and so are the injections! Off to buy my meds tonight.

@Alyona I fail to comprehend the level of idiocy of certain individuals in this world. I am very sorry you are feeling vulnerable with what your boss said, but some people are just totally unaware. We are here for you and you will do just fine ! 😘

@Janefx40, I understand you being sad and it is perfectly normal. April is not far, so very soon, you will be able to do it all again. Believe me it goes fast and like you this now my second go and I am now ready. Lots of love to you seeetie 😘

@Dbear - hope you are hanging in there honey pie! 🌟✨💫🍀🙏🏻❤️😘

How is the wedding preparation going @Rose? What about the holidays @dinksandbinks, is it all booked? @Minster how do you feel about doing it all again?

@Liverpool19 you crack me up and good on you! Like we have told you the injections are fine, it was s the anticipation that makes us sweat! 😜 How exciting hey?

Anybody else I forgot? Oh yes the newbies welcome and how are you doing ladies?

Love to all,
XXX

PS: we were about to land and took off again...with a woman who was holding my hand as she was petrified and then we eventually landed, 20 min later. Never happened to me ever!! 😱🍀🌟👍

swimchick1980 · 14/02/2018 18:46

Thanks Star, glad you're home. I'm a newbie here. I start my Gonal F injections tonight - slightly anxious but been reassured by the lovely ladies on this thread.

Not sure what info people normally give when they join but I'm 37, this is my first round of ICSI after having a couple of MCs last year and trying for a few years. Got my fingers crossed but also trying to be realistic that statistically the chances are it won't work.

Hope you're all well - I can't believe some of the crap you've had to deal with at work. I haven't really told many at my work but it has slipped out to one or two on occasion when I've had a few too many she sherries!

Aliona19 · 14/02/2018 19:35

swimchick1980 dont say statistically it won’t work. You won’t be offered it if there is no point. It will work. I had miscarriage and convinced it will end this way every time but that’s not truth is it. Just have to stay strong and keep trying x

Janefx40 · 14/02/2018 21:03

Good luck with the injections @swimchick1980 the only hard bit is putting that needle into you the first time. Just go on 3! 1,2,3! As soon as you've done it, you'll realise it is fine. Tho it is 9pm I realise so you've probably done it already.

I've just ruined our valentine's meal but talking endlessly about IVF! I am an unstoppable moron! And now DP is depressed again. Why can't I keep my mouth shut!

Xxx

Aliona19 · 14/02/2018 21:07

Janefx40 Erm yes Jane! Shut up and never call yourself a moron! It’s Valentine’s Day and it’s all about love and ivf is our chance to have this family we all want. So what’s the problem in talking about it with the closet one? Xx

Janefx40 · 14/02/2018 21:47

@Aliona19 I know - you're right. But he's just so sad at the moment and seemed happier for just a moment - until I talked about it again! Ah well. When we have our families all this will have been worth it

Xxx

swimchick1980 · 14/02/2018 21:48

Thanks- i did it, woop woop! I was so nervous but, as you say, it was actually fine. DH was an absolute prick though, so no we're not talking! A lovely Valentine's Day all round Grin

Minster2012 · 14/02/2018 22:07

Evening ladies!

aliona can’t believe your boss was such a dick! You’ll be fine, if u get pregnant the baby is the most important thing so just shrug.

liverpool sounds fantastic, have a great time then all systems go!

jane glad u got the scan & it will be finished soon, don’t worry bout the talking thing with DH, I’m the same, I need to talk but my DH wants to ignore it.

star that first place looks AMAZING! DH doesn’t want to go away before the baby is born, says we ought to save money 😩😕

swim hi! Welcome glad the first injection went well!! It’ll get better! My DH did mine for my EC bit we’re used to injections, so u don’t get confused my best friend is pregnant with my & DH’s baby as our surrogate as I can’t carry a child, she’s now 17 weeks (we have a midwife appointment tomorrow where we meet the midwife for the first time, but my friend knows her, she delivered my friends last child 6 years ago!) but also it was first time IVF from one embryo! As was dinks I think so though chances are low don’t go in thinking it can’t happen! 😁💕I’m going to do more egg retrieval & embryo fertilisation & freezing (hopefully as I have v poor fertility from cancer treatment) & have to wait until beginning of March to start the injections again as it will be my last shot at putting some more embryos on ice due to my treatment to ever have a sibling for the miracle baby boy she’s growing (still weird to say!)

So keep the faith everyone!!

Love to you all on valentines night, hope you’ve got those condoms ready!! 🤣😁😆
