Hi all. We're a group of first timers who've been plugging away on the conception boards for some time. The support here is amazing so if you're in a similar boat please jump onboard.

Time to hand hold through treatments and support each other through to becoming the mums we deserve to be 💪🏼🌸🙏🏼

jene I have wondered if I need to just say 'look I'm ready to do this'. I think he would say fine if I pushed it, I guess I just want him to want to do it, is that weird?

Good luck with the job so exciting!

Jamon · 24/10/2017 21:02

Struggle is that long protocol then? How are you finding the drugs, any side effects? I’m sure you’ll get it all to fit into work life etc. You’ve got this 🙌🏼

Excellent progress from your GP mouse!

Kwick what is this patisserie???

Good luck with the new job jene is that your first appointment with a consultant Tuesday?

Flash that does make sense but like jene said it can take a while - by the time it comes round he may well be ready. Then all the tests take ages.. it really is a slow old process

Feeling first twinges from ovaries as my body gears up for ovulation for this. Little does it know I’m about to SHUT IT DOWN. It’s going to be soooooooo weird getting EWCM and not shagging ! Very strange times. Long term TTC is madness but there was method in the madness. I feel cast adrift this cycle.

Thanks jene! I like the sound of a mini-kwick restoring the balance 😘
Best of luck with your last day!

jamon I cannot believe you do not know it!!! So walking from Southgate tube to the Asda it is on the left. Cypriot bakery - my dinner last night were some delicious Baklavas Grin
Sweetie I know the whole nun’s wee thing can be a bit disconcerting but it is just a means to an end, no less worthy, no less miraculous.

lemony I just take heart that Janet Jackson had her first baby at 51.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 25/10/2017 08:24

Thanks Overina and Kwick I have a team lunch today, will be sad to leave some of them, then handover meetings tomorrow and Friday off, so am going to make the most of it.

Jam try to look at this cycle as trying a new thing, like back at the start of this journey when it seemed that pineapple or headstands after sex were going to be the thing that made the difference. Now you've got tonnes of scientific research contributing to the next stage.

My appointment on Tuesday is to look at dates for IVF, already had funding checks etc.

Lem really ignore that kind of thread. I too click sometimes knowing from the title that I shouldn't but it doesn't make you feel good.

How's it going Winging?

otters2017 · 25/10/2017 15:15

Hi all. Sorry been absent for a day or so. Just needed a break and been spending some quality time with DH. Good news we have 2 day 6 blastocysts to freeze which we are really excited about! She said they looked good quality 4AB and 5BB. Went out with DH for a long walk then for dinner. We started to talk about our future with kid(s) and it was just so wonderful. I'm welling up now thinking about it. I just hope it can be a reality. It's been a long journey albeit not as tough as some on here and we just want to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Anyway don't want to get all down, trying to stay positive!! I'm going to watch Bridget jones baby later and see if I can find other feel good movies as Ive read it's good to laugh and be happy in the 2WW. Any other suggestions welcome.

chlo the transfer was fine. The hardest part for me was keeping a full bladder. Finding the peasaries a bit messy but needs must.

kwick I totally need your patent pending 2WW tips please. And that lady from the Christian group sounds like she's the one that needs help! Just ignore her and well done you!

mouse how are you getting on? Hopefully the symptoms are good signs!

baguette enjoy your long weekend and good luck with your new job. Hope you don't have to wait too long to start ivf.

jamon it was very very weird not actively TTC after TTC for so long! It was also positively affirming to be doing something (ivf) to hopefully ensure a successful pregnancy.

lemonylem ignore those posts! I like what kwick said about Janet Jackson!

OverinaFlash · 25/10/2017 15:24

Oh otters that's fab news, and great that you and DH are staying positive. Hot Fuzz always makes me laugh if you need something else!

I feel like I have giant melon boobs today more like 2 halves of an over-excited grapefruit.

Isn't it so annoying that I can just plot AF coming now? Monday thought I looked fat, last night dizzy and feeling sick at yoga, today sore swollen boobs. A newbie would think these were signs of an impending BFP but I know the truth.

Oooo there was a heavy breather at yoga last night! So annoying, everytime I was feeling relaxed, and the yoga teacher said take long slow smooth breaths, Snorty McDarth Vader stated making noises like someone on a ventilator!

Also, kwick that woman is a total nutjob. If long-term TTC has taught me anything, it's that most people really just don't have anything useful to add unless it's happening to them.

Jamon · 25/10/2017 15:29

lemon step away from those threads. They are knobheads.

kwick I have never come across this bakery before in my life! Next time you are in Southgate you have to come round to mine for tea that's the law

baguette mega lols at pineapples and standing on heads :) yes there are now going to be petri dishes and all sorts of pipettes and exciting things - you are right. Take heed eggs.

Hurrah otters that's fab news on your frosties and it sounds like a lovely positive chat with your DH. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Oh no flash heavy breathing does my nut!

Flash I’m in the same boat. 9DPO today and I’m NOT spotting - I have a 9 day luteal phase, without any budging in 8 months. This is a whole new ball game for me as I usually spot from the evening of CD8, then all day CD9. Desperately trying not to focus on it but it’s hard. I’m cramping though so hmmm. Might just not spot this cycle or might have a longer luteal phase. I wish I could fast forward a week. 🤐

OverinaFlash · 25/10/2017 15:49

Me too Mouse! I had one/two days of brownish spotting about 4 dpo, which I thought would turn into the usual but hasn't, and I am 8/9 dpo today too. LP for me is 12 days since the Agnus Castus so I'm due Sunday. At least the no spotting/longer luteal phase would be a small positive if AF does arrive.

OverinaFlash · 25/10/2017 17:13

Also, sorry kwick but what's nun's wee??

kwick · 25/10/2017 17:26

That is the spirit otters and laughing is one of my “patent pending” 2ww tips Grin I will dig it out and hope that it will upload!
Great news on blastocysts!

flash 😂😂😂 McDarth Vader!!!!

jamon I like your laws!!! Deal!!!

flash nun’s wee is apparently used for some of the IVF/IUI drugs... not sure which but it seems they have a good source of wee wee that contains much needed hormones Grin

kwick · 25/10/2017 17:28

I will find out tomorrow how many of my donor eggs fertilse with the magic potion!!!!!!

And we are visiting a potential puppy on Sunday!!!

SO EXCITING!!!!

geeup · 25/10/2017 17:36

@otters2017 are you doing the pessaries up the back door or the front? if you're finding the front door messy and leaky definitely put them up the back. You don't have to lie down to let them absorb that way and no leakage. Sticking them up your bum sounds grosser than it is. You just push them in an inch or so and they kind of get sucked up Blush sorry - mortified writing that.

kwick · 25/10/2017 17:47

Fricking photo function not work!!! jamon if I whatsapp you it can you try to load? Fanks!

Jamon · 25/10/2017 17:49

Puppy?! 🐶

That's brilliant about the freezer embryos otters!

I'm getting ready for an iui next week so back to daily injections

OverinaFlash · 25/10/2017 22:48

What kind of puppy?!

otters2017 · 26/10/2017 06:47

Couldn't get Bridget jones baby on sky (not available till sat apparently) so watched an animation called storks. It was quite funny and we joked about if only it was that easy! Write a letter to the storks and they deliver a baby!

kwick love the patent lending tips! What time do you hear about the fertilization ?

geeup up the front currently but had to use the back on transfer day and it wasn't as bad as I thought so may alternate. Definitely no ness up the back but gave me some bowel issues BlushHmm

QuietTime · 26/10/2017 07:12

How are you feeling about the IUI, kerry? Hope you're doing well

otters loving hearing about your progress; fx everything's settling in

kwick hope it's good news on the eggs - and puppy?! That's awesome - deets please!

Have you got any distractions this month from TTC, jam? Or is upcoming treatment enough

Sorry if I've missed other news, bit behind. Nothing much from me, think just TWW but we didn't HS as much as usual with thrush rearing it's annoying head BlushAngry

kwick · 26/10/2017 07:52

A Tibetan Terrier puppy!!!!!! If only I could load photos....

Not sure when I will hear but I have a jam packed day so it is going to be hard to check my hotmail...

Just to clarify with 🐶- will not live with me but with my nephew so I will most likely only see once a week.

Jamon · 26/10/2017 08:38

Hope the injections are going okay kerry
*
Quiet* we’ve got a few nice things. We’ve got a family trip to Center Parcs to celebrate my mums retirement. The girls going have all got a spa day booked 💅🏻 I’ve got my orchestra concert and the in laws are coming down for that. I’m also hoping to tag along on a trip with DH and get a bit of winter sun - not entirely sure how this might work with meds requiring refrigeration but I’m sure we can work around! I’ve got quite a bit of annual leave left to take by the end of the year too so might see if we can get away or just have some time off around treatment. How are you doing?

Oh look - it’s almost Friday 🙌🏼
