Hi! I'm hoping that this is 3rd time lucky for us... due to start process for my first Frozen transfer in June, with the actual transfer being in July... anyone want to join me on the journey? We have 2 unsuccessful fresh cycles behind us, and I have this one single little embryo from the last cycle sitting in the freezer waiting for me. It's a 3BB and all my hopes are pinned on it being the one!
We have unexplained secondary infertility, have a DS who will be 4 in August, and I've just turned 40, so time isn't on our side... so I'm now waiting for my period to start (due in about 10-14 days, although my cycles are mucked up since our ivf failed in April)... but once it comes i will be down regged to them do transfer early July I think! Fingers crossed we get lucky this time...!

Good luck to everyone who has and embryos growing!

I'm having a tonne of side-effects from the progesterone I think (nausea, breast pain, bloating), which makes symptom spotting completely redunant, as I've been having the side effects for days but this is the first day that implantation could even occur.

I'm feeling lil down, got a call, yesterday on day 5 they have frozen one top grade expanded blast she said that's excellent, others were still progressing. Today they found only one made more it to blast but she said it was very low grade one 😒 I'm greatful for the one excellent one but feeling so low that others did not make it. Looks like we just have one lone good embryo and it should survive thaw for fet, I couldn't think of anything now. Totally disappointed 😞

geeup · 03/07/2017 12:54

I'm sorry to hear that hope. It's so hard isn't it. I know it's a cliche but it really doesn't only take one so try to focus on that great one you do have. Also loads of people randomly get pregnant with poor quality embryos so that "runner up" could even be your baby!
Did the clinic say if they expected to try and transfer one or both?

geeup · 03/07/2017 12:55

Does* only take one!!!!

Hobbes39 · 03/07/2017 13:14

Hopes - as Geeup said it does only take one, and you have 2 Smile. I know one of them may be 'low grade', but they don't freeze ones that they don't think have a chance, so the fact they have frozen it is a good sign. Xx

Hey pyjamas
That sounds really great that they're top quality and they want to take some to blast stage
Any news Hopes?
Had my egg retrieval this morning. F*cking painful. Wish my hospital did it under GA, feeling very tender now.
They got 18 eggs, which I'm happy with. Was worried as I had loads of follicles that they'd get loads of eggs and I'd get ohss, or the eggs wouldn't be that mature etc.
Just hope some of them fertilise!

GirlcalledJames · 03/07/2017 17:41

They told me at the clinic that if it has a grade, whichever it is, it means that it has a chance and is worth trying. The ones that don't are discarded. So it can still work out, Hopes.

Sounds good, Nigel.

Pyjamas81 · 03/07/2017 17:54

I've still got hope for you hopes xx

Sorry you found EC painful Nigel - sounds awful. But hooray for 18 eggs!

All sounds promising gee - sounds like we have similar responses. I've been saying "quality over quantity" to myself for days!!

I keep veering from thinking "what if" to "oh god I'm setting myself up for a massive fall." Did my yoga DVD earlier and went to acupuncture which helped. Have got acupuncture booked in for before and after transfer as well. Might do jack shit, but at least I find it relaxing!

79Karen · 03/07/2017 18:11

Also had my progress scan today, 10 follicles in total but they're a bit small so they've upped my dose to 375 on gonal-f, she seemed confident that the extra dose should do the job, I hope so. Next scan on Friday

geeup · 03/07/2017 18:46

I'm booked in before and after transfer too pyjamas!

Pyjamas81 · 03/07/2017 19:16

Hope it's just the kickstart your follies need Karen!

Have you been doing the acupuncture long gee? I only started it today - better late than never, hey.

geeup · 03/07/2017 20:07

I did it weekly sometimes twice a week before I started doing assisted conception before I realised I'd go bankrupt. Then I stopped for a while. Started again a few weeks before first ivf cycle. This time I'm just doing the day of transfer Confused

Pyjamas81 · 03/07/2017 20:26

Ha ha - you know your way around an acupuncture needle then! The guy I saw today said that transfer day is the most important for acupuncture, so that's what I'm going with! It helped me years ago with anxiety and insomnia 👍🏼

Goodluckjonathan76 · 04/07/2017 23:56

Hi all. How is everyone doing? Pyjamas?

So, 2nd day of meds for us. Going ok so far apart from very headachey and tired. Bit worried though as DH got the results from his semen culture which showed traces of entercoccus faecalis. Dr thinks it's probably just contamination in the sample but DH is repeating semen culture tomorrow. Apparently if he does have it he will have to take antibiotics which may then not even work and only option is ICSI which we have ruled out. Has anyone else had this?

Pyjamas81 · 05/07/2017 05:56

Transfer day today! Eek! Really hoping the embryos have fared ok over the last couple of days - time will tell. Have acupuncture at 8.30am, transfer at 11am, then acupuncture again at 3.30pm.

No experience of that am afraid Jonathan - am sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon! How come ICSI is ruled out?

GirlcalledJames · 05/07/2017 06:34

Good luck, Pyjamas!

Fox23 · 05/07/2017 07:49

Good luck Pyjamas! Grin

Nigeltufnellover · 05/07/2017 09:00

Good luck Pyjamas! X

geeup · 05/07/2017 09:57

Good luck pyjamas! It's literally over in a second so don't worry about it! Let us know when you're transferred!

Pyjamas81 · 05/07/2017 11:48

So all done - that was fucking weird! They put one early blastocyst back in as it was the front runner out of the 5. Three definitely slowed and one may or may not catch up but they didn't think there would be any to freeze (which is normal with the amount of embryos we had).

Bit bummed that a full blasto wasn't transferred and we have no second chances with any frosties, but trying to be positive. They've given me a picture of the little early blastocyst! Test date is Friday 14th 😬

Hopes2bmom · 05/07/2017 12:03

Hey pyjamas, congratulations on the trnasfer! Fingers crossed for you!! 😍

Goodluckjonathan76 · 05/07/2017 12:31

Fingers crossed Pyjamas! Do you can test only 9 days after ET rather than the usual 2 weeks?

Pyjamas81 · 05/07/2017 12:40

It's 2 weeks post egg collection (and hence fertilisation) so makes sense I suppose!

Have been googling the crap out of "early blastocysts", all is not lost I don't think...

geeup · 05/07/2017 12:50

Yayyyy you're PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise)!! Try and enjoy this stage as much as you can (although I know it's a horrible limbo land). For today, there is an embryo inside you! Congratulations!

79Karen · 05/07/2017 13:29

Congratulations pyjamas hope the next 2 weeks aren't too stressful for you
