Good luck with your appointment today Sunny hope it goes well

Sunny1984 · 22/09/2017 08:57

Thanks SLady, don't know why but I feel anxious!! It was made by the nurse because I mentioned how early I started spotting and light my period was so she said best I be seen to see if there was anything they could do. Which is great but feel like the Dr might think I'm wasting his time Confused

I tested this morning which I didn't want to do and as I expected it BFN. Now I feel sad. Such a rollercoaster! When will you be testing?
ElizabethCatherine did AF arrive?

Sunny1984 · 22/09/2017 08:58

Littleonek that's great your periods came back! How much B12 are you taking?

SLady · 22/09/2017 09:35

I hope it goes well Sunny you're not wasting his time and obviously the nurse thinks you should see him too. Don't feel bad. Arm yourself with a list of questions beforehand and be confident Flowers
So sorry it was a BFN Sad big big hugs! I was keeping everything crossed for you. I might test tomorrow but havent plucked up the courage to buy any tests yet. I know it'll be a BFN for me too, I feel the same as I did all the other rounds. I was kind of hoping AF would arrive so at least I know the Clomid was finally working

AmyL88 · 22/09/2017 09:40

@Littleonek This thread is great and all the ladies are lovely! My periods sound like yours, they vary each cycle but since i am on clomid they have been alot more regular. I too have 'Mild PCOS' with about 15 cysts.

Had my CD14 Scan yesterday and they could see one mature folli.....weirdly though I've had hardly any EWCM and my OPKS are far from positive so i am not feeling too good about it!

Going back on Tuesday for a follow up scan so we shall see!!

@SLady Feeling bloated is a good sign!!! When i fell pregnant with my son I was so bloated for days and that't one of the reasons i ended up doing a preg test. Are you still holding out until tomorrow?

@Sunny1984 I agree with the roller coaster ride. Good luck with your appt x

Littleonek · 22/09/2017 11:27

Thank you! Was it easy to get onto chlomid? Or will it take me months of appointments to persuade them?

Did your drs say if mild pcos affects your chances of conceiving? This is the main thing I am worrying about as we have been trying for 7 months with no luck! Ive read online that it doesnt affect fertility it might take a while for an egg to develop.

SLady · 22/09/2017 11:50

Yay for your mature follie Amy. It seems like we can't rely on EWCM or opks at all. Did they say when you will be expected to ovulate from your scan? That's interesting you were told how many cysts you had and whether it was mild. They never mentioned anything like that to me.

Oh really? Well I am certainly very bloated right now. I do get like that just before AF is due too. I think I will test tomorrow, I am pretty sure it will be a bfn. I said to DH I will test in the morning and then we will do something nice in the day together so it will take my mind off it as I am sure I will be feeling sad.

It does make it harder for some people to conceive Littleone. Pcos affects ovulation so some people don't ovulate regularly and some don't ovulate at all. You do need to go through some hoops to get Clomid as it can't be prescribed by your gp. Usually you need to have been TTC for a year then you have certain tests done to get a referral to the fertility clinic at the hospital

AmyL88 · 22/09/2017 12:08

@Littleonek Well I had been trying for a while, then had a MMC Feb of this year and it was only then I found out i had PCOS. My Consultant was great once i had my referral from the GP. They wont send you for a referral until you have been trying for a year. You then have to go through scans/bloods etc but keep pushing your GP for this to happen.
I was constantly asking her to refer me and then once she did i was prescribed clomid on my first appointment with the consultant. I am on my 2nd cycle now taking it and go for scans every cycle to see if its working.

I was advised as my PCOS was mild and i don't have many of the 'normal' symptoms I should respond well to the clomid and then fall pregnant. The thing with PCOS is your follicles don't always mature, so i was using OPK's and thinking i am ovulating when i had a positive when in fact i wasn't. Everyone is different though and I have a 4 year old who was conceived naturally.

@SLady No she just said make sure you DTD over the next few days and come back Tuesday to check its happened. Will then have the 21 day bloods too. OOoo please do test tomorrow and let us know how you get on. I will have everything crossed for you!

SLady · 22/09/2017 12:31

Fingers crossed for ovulation Amy. Thank you so much, I will let you know either way. FX for a miracle!!

Sunny1984 · 22/09/2017 16:03

Good luck for tomorrow SLady let us know how you get on, keeping everything crossed for you Smile

That's great AmyL sounds like it's doing exactly what it should be! I know this round I'm giving up on checking CM and my Consultant said to day using my money to buy a handbag would be better use of my money than buying OPKs!!! So will forgot about doing anymore of those!! Appointment was actually really good and feel a bit more positive! I have another 3 rounds of 100mg as he said from my bloods it's working but wants me to use progesterone pessarys from day 14 to try and help the lining. He thinks it should work but if by Feb still nothing he thinks IVF would be a good idea. Better getting saving now!!

AmyL88 · 22/09/2017 16:45

@Sunny1984 That's positive!! Are you eligible for funded IVF?

Oh I know, with the cost of OPK's and then Preg tests it all adds up...I would hate to think what i have spent over the last few years Blush

SLady · 22/09/2017 18:02

Thanks so much sunny will let you know.
I'm glad you are feeling positive after your appointment and good to know you can try something else for your next round which will hopefully improve things. I guess AF should arrive any day now so you can get started right away? My doctor told me to use opks. So confusing! I think we've all learned this week that opks and EWCM can be misleading anyway

Sunny1984 · 22/09/2017 22:55

AmyL I live in Essex and they have more or less stopped all funding for IVF, so unfair as if we were living in another county we would have 3 rounds funded. Hoping it won't come to it but just trying to start saving now incase my DH said we could always use money saved for a babymoon if we don't need it!!

SLady I guess so as I'm Day 28 but have no idea when to expect it really, I felt really due on earlier but nothing now! I'm on a night shift so that tends to bring it on being on my feet for 12.5hrs 😴😴

SLady · 23/09/2017 09:08

Pressed send too soon! Feeling sad/frustrated but sort of expected although I have been feeling really due on the past couple of days so I would be very surprised if AF doesn't show! Just got to wait for the next week now...hoping it will so that at least I know the 100mg worked. Otherwise back on the nore AGAIN

SLady · 23/09/2017 09:09

Don't know what's happening to my messages this morning! BFN for me Sad

Sunny1984 · 23/09/2017 09:24

SLady so sorry for the BFN, so shit and unfair. Sending lots of love xx Will you do something nice today? Will you wait now until day 35 before testing again?

SLady · 23/09/2017 09:41

Thanks sunny yea going to do something nice with my DH today and take my mind off things. Going to hope AF comes next week but if not I'll call the clinic and get some more nore and do another test CD35 before I start. I get a blood test next 100mg round so if it's really low again I'm going to ask to see the consultant to talk about what else we can do.

It's so unfair about the postcode lottery. I moved from Essex to Suffolk recently, before I started all this TTC stuff, and I get two free rounds of ivf. I have such shit care through the Clomid it's the least they could do. Every year they try and get rid of the funding though Angry

Sunny1984 · 23/09/2017 09:59

Try and have a lovely day if you can, easier said than done I know! It is so stupid to not even give you a blood test each cycle until they know it's working! I definitely would say you want a Consultant appointment even to just get a blood test on the 1st round of 150mg if you need to increase again and to see if they could try another drug?

I know it honestly makes me so cross that it is a postcode lottery Sad We moved from the one area in Essex that still offers 2 funded rounds, it's so infuriating I said to my DH I'm so tempted to move back!!

SLady · 23/09/2017 10:26

I know it's ridiculous isn't it. My DH said they've obviously got a policy whereby they split the 6 goes into 2 rounds of each dose and if they gave you a blood test each round there's no way you'd want to carry on with that dose again if you didn't ovulate so they only give it when they're prepared to increase. It's like they have a set formula not based on the individual and feels so pointless carrying on with 100mg again!! Yes im definitely going to ask for an appointment, there's no point going to see him without a blood result for 100mg so ill wait for that first.
Thanks Sunny I hope you have a nice weekend too and are feeling ok. I was hoping it would be good news for us Sad

SLady · 23/09/2017 10:29

I bet!! It really is so unfair Sunny. Hopefully it won't come to that for you though!

HollyWollyDooDah · 24/09/2017 08:11

I'm sorry about your news slady :(

I'm on cd 17 and yesterday had a slight pink tinge when wiping - could it be?? X

AmyL88 · 24/09/2017 10:01

Ah sorry it was a BFN @SLady If AF does show on her own then atleast your body is reacting in the right way to the 100mg so take some positive from that.

It does seem silly of them not to do a blood test every cycle. I'm in Coventry with CRM and they will offer scans/bloods until they can see the right dosage working for you then let you carry on by yourself I believe...I haven't got that far yet though. I wouldn't be entitled to funded IVF as I have a 4 year old.

I went against my own advice and did a OPK yesterday and it was nearly positive so I will test again today and see if it's any darker. I guess my LH hormone isn't cranking up to what it needs to Confused

@Holly that sounds ideal timing for implantation bleeding, keep us updated!

pandarific · 24/09/2017 11:50

I'm getting really frustrated. After my periods came back after being gone for 6 months, my cycles have been really long - June: 45 days, July: 40 days, August: 37 days.

This month along with folate I've been taking 40mg black cohosh, 1000mg vitex and rhodiola rosea hoping to shorten my cycle and help ovulation.

I've not had the clear ovulation signs I had last month, but I've been taking the clear blue digital ovulation predictor and - nothing, every time. Sad

Also DH has not got the highest sex drive (busy, tired) so though we've DTD cd 10, 14, 18, 21 and 25 I feel that's not enough, even though it's been an effort to get there. I'm on CD 27, took a test and negative.

We're on the GP's radar as I let them know we'd been trying for 6 months back in April, DH's sperm tests have come back normal. My next step is to make an appointment and ask for referral. I don't know what happens next and am a bit scared - will it be an ultrasound? Or just clomid?

AmyL88 · 25/09/2017 12:39

@pandarific 37 Days doesnt seem too long. Miine were 90 plus some cycles. You wont be prescribed Clomid until they have scanned you etc

ElizabethCatherine · 25/09/2017 21:31

Hey guys!! Sorry for the late reply @Sunny1984 yes it finally came! On day 5 in the evening I was beginning to loose hope haha they said 3-5 days so thankful it came! I should have had a baseline scan on Saturday and started treatment then but the clinic was closed so I had to go in this morning so did that, all is clear and ready to go so I gave myself my first injection of gonal-f and it wasn't too bad at all! So I have to do that every morning and then on Friday I combine it with another injection and then go in for another scan/bloods to see how things are going! I am hoping egg collection will be sometime next week probably near the end! Will get a better idea at fridays follow up.
Keep your chins up ladies we all got this! 3 more months left of this year to try and find the perfect dose for you all to get your bfp's! We just all have to keep positive and try to relax as much as possible! Xxx
