Thanks @SLady I can't believe it is so complex, I was talking to my reflexology therapist about it all and she was so knowledgeable, makes you wonder how anyone falls pregnant!! Apparently progesterone over 30 indicates you have ovulated so i am hopeful (again) on the 100mg. Your symptoms sound good this month as you didn't have any did you the previous? I am sure the pressure of 'Try 6 cycles with clomid' doesn't help the stress levels....I am already thinking what are we going to do after if it doesn't work :-s

@Holly How odd...are you testing with IC's ? Are you cycles normally regular then? xx

sThinking · 09/09/2017 10:22

Hi. Thought I would update as I have asked a few questions in this group. I'm pregnant.. I think 5 and a bit weeks. Worried though as I had a few symptoms which have now completely gone. Just waiting to go to the doctor on Wednesday. I wasn't sure if I should message on here but as I have historically had times of 6+ months without a period I though there might be someone reading who would be encouraged.

HollyWollyDooDah · 09/09/2017 11:06

Aw fingers crossed sthinking
No Slady I used a clear blue and a Tesco cheapy
What are ICs?

Anyway, update.
Had a pulling pain last night which has now gone (briefly though ectopic but neg tests)
Anyway had a few little clots this morning so am guessing I'm just late.

My cycles have been the most regular the last 8months I've ever had in my life.
But I'm guessing that they're edging on going irregular again.
I was 10 days late in jan, a week late in may and now this so goodness knows

Still waiting for referral as now they want me to have a rubella screen

Just want a baby :(

SLady · 09/09/2017 11:23

Fingers crossed Amy just think if the 50mg is getting you to that stage hopefully you just need a little nudge with the 100mg to get you to above 30! I know me too, but we just have to try our best to take it one round at a time! I did have EWCM on my first cycle and then nothing at all on my second. No ovulation both times so who knows?!

Congratulations sThinking was you on Clomid I can't remember or did you manage to get pregnant without? Thanks for checking in. Always nice to have a positive story!

Sorry AF arrived holly. Keep pushing that referral. Big hugs

AmyL88 · 10/09/2017 09:35

Aww Congratulations @sThinking that is lovely news! Hope all goes well for you at the Dr's Flowers

Sorry @Holly IC's stand for Internet Cheapies, sometimes they aren't as sensitive as the clear blues, First responses etc.
Sounds like your cycles are a little irregular, mine were before i was put on clomid, i'd have 35 / 50 / 63 day cycles! As @SLady said keep pushing for a referral to the consultant.

ElizabethCatherine · 10/09/2017 16:53

@sThinking congratulations! Keep positive and try to stay calm and relaxed. Symptoms can come and go at different times x

Thanks all! I hadn't been taking any medication, I seemed to have a couple of quite regular months and got lucky. I hope it sticks!

Superhero2 · 11/09/2017 18:32

Hi I'm hoping you can all give me some support as feeling a bit low. Haven't posted for while as things have been a bit crazy. So I've been to my GP today as I've had one period since March and it's getting me down that we can even time intercourse as I have no idea where I am in my cycle. The GP has told me to wait another month and then she might consider putting me on metformin? I'm desperately trying to loose weight even though it's slow progress. She's told me to just keep going. I'm so confused and stressed. I conceived naturally with my 1st but I was much younger and slimmer than I am now. Almost giving up hope we can have 2nd ☹ sorry to ramble but im scared as I've never taken meds before and have no idea what's in store...

ElizabethCatherine · 12/09/2017 10:08

Hi @Superhero2 I'm sorry to hear you are having a tough time. We are all in very similar places so we are here for support. Have you been confirmed with pcos from your doctor? It unfortunately probably means that you are not ovulating if you have not had a period, usually a period follows after ovulation so that's why making it hard to time when to DTD as ovulation might not be happening at all at the moment. In my opinion I would ask the doctor to put you on metformin now. What's the point in waiting another month if it's already been since march right?! I was so angry why I wasn't offered metformin sooner. Especially if you have a little extra weight that you are carrying. Metformin will help with insulin resistance and to help you loose weight and gain a regular period back again. I had been without a period for 1 year and my doc put me on metformin and it came back within 6 weeks! It didn't mean that I was ovulating though but it helped get my period that's for sure - but maybe I did ovulate! Once the period comes it's too late to see if I did and the doc told me that it was highly unlikely that I did since I have not had one in 1 year.

@sThinking that's such wonderful news. Wishing you all the best and a sticky baby! X

Yes been diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago. Got pregnant with my little boy 4 years ago by what must of been a stroke of luck/miracle. I realise how lucky we were the first time around. Some how that doesn't make this easier 😞😞

I was frustrated with GP saying wait a month but feel I didn't have much choice :-( she keeps saying when you get your period boom a blood test and I'm like.... Erm hello? I'm not having a period. Such a struggle. Maybe I should boom back in anyway and ask.... Don't want to look silly though? Sorry I'm probably not making much sense.... ☹☹☹

SLady · 12/09/2017 20:29

Hi superhero when I was trying to get my referral to the fertility clinic my doctor prescribed me norethisterone to induce a bleed so i could get my bloods done. It's not right making you wait for a natural period if you haven't had one since March as could be ages! You should be able to get the norethisterone pretty easily as lots of people take it when they're going on holiday etc to delay a period so think doctors are used to prescribing it.

Waaahhh the 2WW is such a killer! So eager to know whether this dose has made me ovulate. Counting down the days!!

Littleonek · 12/09/2017 20:59

Im so sorry to hear your frustration with your drs!

Last week I was officially diagnosed with Pcos (ultrascan found 20 cysts on each of my overies). My dr said to go back onto the pill but I explained that im TTC. She said ow in that case as your young (27) I will refer you to a gynaecologist at the hospital. They should be able to control it with tablets and if that doesnt work a fertility clinic.

For you guys did they not refer you to a gynaecologist at your local hospital?

Ive joined a gym for the last three months, and lost 6 pounds and found my perios returned after 5 months of no periods!

Superhero2 · 12/09/2017 21:00

Slady I can imagine the 2ww is a killer. Fingers crossed for you!

I do feel rather let down after my GP appointment thought she understood but now feeling a bit fobbed off 😡😡😡

Superhero2 · 12/09/2017 21:03

No referral yet @littleonek ☹ try for getting you period back always a good sign!

I've also been at the gym lost over a stone since the new year just need to keep going. They said I'm young too (28) and already have conceived so in their eyes I guess they see no urgency. So frustrating!

Superhero2 · 12/09/2017 21:04

*yey

ElizabethCatherine · 12/09/2017 21:19

@Littleonek how long have you been ttc for? When you hit a year the fertility clinic will take you on. I was referred to a gynaecologist and wait 3 months to be seen by her only for her to tell me that I need to see a fertility clinic and not her! She said the fertility clinic has to be the one to administer the drugs and regulate cycles and ovulation and they are the ones to track everything. I was so annoyed! Maybe she will give you metformin but I got that from my endocrinologist.

@SLady my fingers and toes are crossed for you this month! When do you test? X

OP posts:
Littleonek · 12/09/2017 21:44

Thanks very useful info. Been trying since January. But took three months to get a pcos dynosis, mainly due to waiting for an ultrascan.

I waited over two months for my ultrascan so expecting to wait a few months for my hospital appointment.

Does a gynaecologist just offer natural solutions eg diet and excersise and cant give any medicine? I want to also get an insulin resilience test as ive got family members who are diabetes.

This stuff is all very new to me, Ive started reading a book on my kindle which offers lots of tips for a natural soltions to pcos:

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007NLC8K4/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

SLady · 12/09/2017 23:34

Thank you superhero & elizabethcatherine I'm testing one week on Saturday. Fingers crossed!

The fertility clinic are the ones you need to see for help with trying to conceive littleone my doctor wouldn't refer me until I had been trying for a year even though I had already been diagnosed with pcos. I want an insulin test too, I might go to my GP about it. Thanks for the book recommendation

Sunny1984 · 13/09/2017 09:50

Hello, sorry I've been MIA! Had a crappy couple of weeks 😕.

Huge congrats Sthinking Smile will you have an early scan?

How are you getting on ElizabethCatherine? I've been thinking more and more about IVF so would really like to know how you get on with the drugs and the whole process.

SLady keeping everything crossed this is your month! Do you think you did ovulate? Do you get bloods this month?

I'm CD 19 and no sign of ovulation yet fertility monitor hasn't shown a peak and I've had no change in CM like I did last month. Feeling very disheartened not sure if they'll give me another 100mg dose or change it!

SLady · 13/09/2017 10:31

Hi Sunny sorry you've had a crap couple of weeks :(
CD18 for me today, I had some EWCM around the right days so sometimes I feel positive like I have ovulated and others I think I feel exactly how I did on the 50mgs so I'm not confident at all! I don't get bloods this round unfortunately so I'll have to sit tight and wait till the very end to know if it worked or not and see if I'm going to be back on the nore!
Don't give up yet...what day did you ovulate last month? There is still time yet...youve got a few more days to ovulate. I don't suppose you're booked in for bloods anymore either if it worked last time?

Sunny1984 · 13/09/2017 22:33

Thank you SLady, last month I ovulated day 12/13 so was really hopeful this month! Still holding onto a miracle in the next couple of days but really feeling very optimistic!! What CD will you test?
I have blood forms for CD 19 and 21 but at my parents in spain with DH until CD 22 so may have them when I get home but not sure if there is any point!

SLady · 13/09/2017 23:12

Fingers crossed for you sunny, the opks might not be 100% accurate either. Might as well have the later one as might affect what the Dr decides to do next dose wise depending on result?
I think I'll probably test CD28 if there are no signs of AF. I do really hate seeing a BFN but as I won't know whether I've even ovulated I may as well get it over and done with so I just know, rather than wondering whether AF hasnt arrived because im pregnant or whether its not arrived because it hasnt worked like all the other times! If you know what I mean. What about you?

SoapyChoc · 14/09/2017 17:35

Hi all. Back from a much needed holiday. Feel like life has been a bit on hold for the last two years as can't plan too far in advance as might be preg. Seems silly now and yet still in same situation when thinking about maybe going away next year. I'm expecting Af at some point soonish I think but it's definitely a who knows when it'll come type thing. Although I can't start taking the Clomid at least I can try and hope the Metformin has had some effect.
Great to see some good news SThinking
How is everyone else getting on now?

SLady · 14/09/2017 18:24

Hope you had a good holiday soapychoc. I know exactly what you mean! I wanted to book a cruise for my 30th but on lots of them you can't board if you're so many weeks pregnant so I haven't booked one! I try not to put things on hold but it's always in the back of mind!
