I would say any time after 40 days, let's say u ovulate around day 24, plus ur 2 weeks wait so that would be day 38, and let's say 2 days for luck :) I would test them and if negative start ur Nor, u will prob more than likely to come on before then as Clomid does make you cycles shorter, before Clomid mine were around 60 days, during Clomid they were around 35-38 days xx

SLady · 07/08/2017 20:32

Thanks lorddenning1 I will try and hold off until CD40 to start my norethisterone. My cycles started at 33 days when I first came off the pill and got progressively longer so by the time I started Clomid I was at 75 days! Each time I speak to my clinic they always ask me what my cycle length was like before and I do wonder why its relevant. Thanks so much for your advice/support x

Lorddenning1 · 07/08/2017 21:01

I think they ask for your cycle length because anything over 35 days is classed as irregular and is normally a sure sign of no ovulation (but not always though) when I came off the pill my cycles went longer and longer like yours, when your on the fertility path I think you wonder how anyone even gets pregnant, I knew someone who got pregnant with the coil in and I'm like wtf

SLady · 07/08/2017 21:28

I had 3 cycles around 33 days and then it went to 40s, 50s, 60s etc - I really think being on the pill was good for me and my hormones. We didn't start trying right away and I wish we had of. I know, people get pregnant by accident!! Jeez!

Lorddenning1 · 07/08/2017 21:40

A friend from school was at the same fertility clinic as me, but a month ahead of me, she had a daughter who was 8 and they had been trying for number 2 for 6 years, anyways she got pregnant using Clomid and had a little girl, around 5 months after her little girl was born she found out she was pregnant, naturally conceived and they are due to have a boy, it's madness 😃

Sunny1984 · 07/08/2017 22:59

I'm really hoping the 100mg dose works for us both! Just going to BD every other day from CD 8/9 and hope that if I ovulate we'll catch it!!
I have a form for blood tests on this cycle for Day 21 and 25, then next cycle day 19 and 21! I think if I have symptoms I ovulate later I may push the bloods back to get a more accurate reading!
The consultant told me if I hadn't had a period by day 40 to call for another prescription for Provera for I think that is really good advice Lorrdenning1! Maybe you can be our good luck charm Smile
I don't know how people do it, my friend told me she was 7 weeks the other day and they had really BD'd once!! Literally 1 time!!!

Lorddenning1 · 07/08/2017 23:28

Honestly I don't want to sound like a know it all but I have been where you both are now, I have read so much about fertility etc I think I could run my own clinic 😃
My sister started trying about month after I told everyone I was pregnant, so I gave her a big speech on how hard it may be etc and to relax, she for pregnant the second month trying go and had identical twin boys lol

Lorddenning1 · 07/08/2017 23:29

Sorry my phone keeps playing up, hopefully the comment below makes sense :)

Evangeline3 · 08/08/2017 01:00

I wondered if anyone had any tips about the lower abdominal "bulge" which you commonly get with pcos.
I was reading upon it earlier and interestingly someone suggested that as our ovaries are enlarged it forces some of the other organs upwards and causes a bulge?
It's weird. It's like halfway down my abdomen it begins to stick out, no matter how much I work out, how much weight I lose its always there.
I recently paid for laser lipo but this doesn't seem to be making much difference either. :/
I'm not sure if it's because it's not actually fat?

Evangeline3 · 08/08/2017 01:01

Also has anyone here conceived with pcos? If so, what did you use to conceive?
Anyone find folic acid helps?

SLady · 08/08/2017 07:44

Haha i love that lorddenning1 should definitely be our lucky Clomid Charm Star we appreciate the advice it's nice to speak to someone with experience with it all.

That's good you get two blood tests sunny! Least they are covering possible late ovulation. That's exactly my plan DTD cd8-25 again like I did this month and hope for the best. Then despite not being monitored/not having blood tests I'm covered whatever happens! Perhaps if I get moved onto 150mg and I only have 2 rounds left I'll push for more blood tests so we know if Clomid definitely didn't work for me....although I guess you can tell if it worked by getting a period right?

SLady · 08/08/2017 07:56

Hi evangeline I have always been tall and slim. Despite that I still have a little belly pouch. It never shifts. I've just learned to embrace it really!
Most of us haven't conceived and are trying Clomid to help. There are a few that have conceived naturally before but mostly everyone here has tried or is trying Clomid.

AmyL88 · 08/08/2017 14:22

Hi ladies,

Been MIA for the last few days as rushing around preparing for my holiday tomorrow...so needed!!

@SLady sorry to hear your results we're great. Don't lose hope now though as 50mg is just the start. Can you not push to be scanned through the 100mg though?

@Evangeline3 I have conceived naturally with PCOS I have a 4 year old. I have been trying for the last 3 years to conceive number 2 and currently I am cycle 1 of 50mg Clomid.

I am on CD 32 today, no sign of AF and was planning on testing tomorrow morning with an FRER. I did get a positive OPK on CD 21 so I am only 11 DPO (If in fact that was a positive OPK!!!!) Not sure whether to just leave it and see if i come on whilst i am away. I don't want to get into a habit of POAS constantly Confused

SLady · 08/08/2017 15:00

Thanks AmyL88 I did ask about scanning and they said they don't monitor on any rounds. Perhaps if 100mg is unsuccessful I will pay to be monitored on 150mg although I'm not sure what use it'll do. Hopefully I'll feel a bit better once I get going with the 100mg.
Hmm it's a tricky one. On my first round I tested CD29 and then just before I started nore. I felt the longer I left it I might start to get my hopes up. If you feel like your opk is right though it might be worth waiting as you'll just want to do another 14dpo x

Lorddenning1 · 08/08/2017 20:02

@AmyL88 I commend your patience and waiting to test, I normally caved at around 7dpo lol

Popcorn15 · 08/08/2017 22:49

Hey ladies

Has anyone tried Soy Isoflavones to help ttc with pcos? I've been googling and apparently it is similar to Clomid? Would love to hear any experiences (both positive and negative) to help me decide whether or not to buy some.

Thanks

Px

SoapyChoc · 09/08/2017 10:34

Hi all,

Fingers crossed next cycle for your higher dose SLady. Hope you have a nice break AmyL

I'm feeling kind of in limbo as waiting for my hycosy at the end of the month. Yesterday after 5 days of Metformin I got AF. Had a bizarre 3 day AF 2 weeks ago. I wondered where the rest of it was. Hopefully this AF is the real deal and will mean I won't be bleeding for my hycosy. Hoping this is a sign Metformin is doing something. On one a day so far, going up to 2 a day on Friday and then 3 a day the week after. Had a bit of a bad tum last night embarrassingly whilst at my friends house it came on and I had to dash to the loo. Hoping that is a one off while getting used to the Metformin.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Sunny1984 · 09/08/2017 16:02

Hey, sorry for the slow reply I've been on nights Confused
AmyL hope you have a lovely holiday! Did you decide to test?
SoapyChoc I struggled with a really bad tum when I got up to full dose of metformin. I spoke to my GP and she prescribed slow release which (hoping not to jinx it!) has meant no more bad tummy Smile. If it does get worse or doesn't settle may be worth asking about.
Lorddenning1 you don't sound like a know it all it's great to have someone who has been through it to talk to and give us advice!

SLady are you planning to hold on until day 40 to start the nore?

Does anyone have accupuncture? I've been having it but I'm convinced it's doing much and it's not the most pleasant experience!

I'm CD 8 today, I'm starting OPKs tomorrow think they are a bit of a waste of time but I spent a fortune on them when we first started TTC last year so I'm going to use the bloody things!!

SLady · 10/08/2017 08:11

Sorry popcorn I've never heard of it. Let us know how you get on if you do buy some.

Thanks soapychoc I've heard that about metformin. I've thought about asking for some to combine with Clomid if it doesnt work but the side effects worry me.

I'm not sure sunny depends if I can control myself lol. As I was less than 1 this time and ive had no ewcm I'm not really sure it's possible I'll ovulate this time. I really just want to get on with the 100mg too. Although as my ovaries didn't react at all to the 50mg I'm trying to prepare myself that it might take 150mg.

I was so optimistic and positive before I started clomid. Amazing how quickly that ends once you board the Clomid train and things don't go to plan!

I bought some "trying for a baby" multi vitamins yesterday instead of just my usual folic acid. I actually thought about trying acupuncture but I'm just not sure. I need to do some more research

SLady · 10/08/2017 08:11

Hope you have a lovely holiday Amy

Lorddenning1 · 10/08/2017 09:25

Thanks @Sunny1984 just let me know if you all need any help/advice 😃 fingers crossed for you all :)

SLady · 10/08/2017 10:10

Stick around for us lorddenning1! And keep those fingers crossed Star
We need to see some bfps on this thread :) x

Megha22 · 10/08/2017 12:54

haha that's cute and funny! same is the case with my baby always so damn inquisitive and ready to pounce on something new, the little bundle of joys they are ! XX

Sunny1984 · 10/08/2017 13:42

Yes lorddenning1 stick around please!

SLady, which vits did you buy? I had pregnacare but then when to a cheaper just folic acid! Might get some more pregnacare!
I know exactly what you mean I was so excited and optimistic when I started the Clomid! That quickly went! It's all so long and drawn out if you need to induce a bleed Sad any sign of AF? It's hard to be patient when all you want to do is get on with it!! If you don't mind me asking how old are you? I feel with every month that goes by I should have started this a long time ago!!!

SLady · 10/08/2017 14:21

I got the seven seas trying for a baby vitamins. So much easier having it in one tablet has folic acid, vitamin d, b6, b12, iron etc. I got it from superdrug. I knoww I think that's the worst bit, takes ages 7 days of tablets then waiting 5 days for AF to come! Nope no sign of AF. I need to wait until next week to pick up my prescription anyway as my consultant is on holiday so nothing I can do this week. No of course not, I'm 29, will be 30 in January. Id put some stupid target in my head that I wanted to be pregnant by the time I was 30 but I'll only be on round 5 by then (assuming I need to induce periods all the time). Need to stop setting myself silly goals that are out of my control! I've always been optimistic but I'm glad I started the process of trying sooner than I would've done because now 18 months on I'm starting to feel desperate for a baby!
