Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

Hello I have had my last progress scan, and it went really well, I have 12 follicles with different sizes, 25, 20, 19, 18, 15,etc.

I have been given my trigger injection and they called me this afternoon to tell me that I need to inject that tomorrow evening at 8.50.

I'm very nervous and excited and scared. Monday Egg Collection.

Geeup, how was your scan today ?

Darcy don't stress about the weight try to relax now I'm sure it's fine.

Drink your milk when did they transfer your embryo ? Day 3 or 5?

Geeup do you know if they prefer day 5 at Victoria Wing or I know it also depends on how they behave in the lab.

Kimmy82 · 24/03/2017 21:17

Oh no geeup just saw your message sorry to hear please don't be sad they can still find good eggs in them so stay positive .

Honestly x

Kimmy82 · 24/03/2017 21:19

Plus this was your first scan things can change quickly in two days believe me .

geeup · 25/03/2017 19:48

Nice to hear yours went well kimmy and on such low drugs! You must have younger ovaries haha. Fingers crossed I have a couple of goodies in there that just need some coaxing. Had acupuncture today and hoping that helps my blood flow or something!

Kimmy82 · 25/03/2017 20:15

Yeah I heard acupuncture definitely helps! Take care and keep positive as I said there can be progress showing on your next scan. X

geeup · 27/03/2017 12:24

How do it go today kimmy? Hope you're feeling ok and they found some great eggs. I've been moved forward to collect on Wednesday so all tips very welcome!

Hi Everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining in! This is my first time ever writing on a forum so I hope I get it right!

Have been reading through this thread briefly as my OH and I have our initial consultation for an NHS funded IVF round on Tuesday 18th April. I am 31, OH is 32. We're technically unexplained and have been trying for a couple of years with no luck. I say technically as I had my AMH checked privately last summer and it was quite low for my age, also sometimes my FSH is higher than desired too....so I'm not sure if this is he reason why we haven't been lucky naturally.

I am going to VW for true first time on Friday for my USS and AMH blood test. Am equally intrigued and petrified to see if my AMH comes back differently...hopefully better!

Out of interest do any of you currently having treatment know what your AMH was? Just trying to work out how many follicles I might be lucky enough to get!

We haven't booked our next nurse appointment yet so I'm thinking we won't likely start our treatment cycle until mid May.
I was really hoping to get a holiday in for June, but this is much more important so bearing in mind what you've all said about holiday timings we'll hold off for now!

Really looking forward to following everyone's journeys and wishing everyone the best of luck. Infertility really sucks and it's nice to chat to some people going through similar! x

Flamingo44 · 27/03/2017 13:00

geeup how often are you having the accupuncture? I've been having it twice a month for around 6 months or so, but was thinking to go to once a week once we start our IVF cycle?

Kimmy82 · 27/03/2017 14:16

Welcome Flamingo.

Geeup just arrived home, they have managed to retrieve 11 eggs, they said that's good but not sure how many is a really good size.

Oh I'm excited for you so you will have yours on Wednesday, wow, really soon, good luck with that. About tips tbh don't have any didn't have any surprises all was fine.

I really hope they will fertilize overnight my biggest fear is they will call me to say none fertilized.
Will let you know tomorrow. So you have a scan today ??

Kimmy82 · 27/03/2017 14:18

Flamingo I don't suggest booking any holidays until your cycle is over, my AMH was really good but don't know the results, I had about 12 good size follicles and ended up with 11 eggs this morning.

geeup · 27/03/2017 14:24

Hi flamingo I have an AMH of about 7 (low end of normal for my age which is 34) and fsh was 9 again borderline normal. I have currently got 8 follicles but probably only about 5-6 right size. Egg collection due Wednesday. Good luck with getting going - so far I think VW have been amazing. Nurses are totally lovely and make you feel cared for and important.

Good new kimmy - loads of eggs and fingers crossed for fertilisation now. Is out of your hands now!
I had my scan today and some of the follicles have raced ahead so they've brought me forwards. I have one that's already 21mm but one only 8mm Confused

Flamingo44 · 27/03/2017 14:43

Thanks for the replies, sounds like you're both doing really well so far.

Kimmy I'm sure lots will fertilise, I think there's an average rate of 60% so you should get at least 6/7 but I'm sure you'll get more!

Geeup that's good to know. My AMH was 8.5 last July so just really hoping it hasn't changed too much since then. It's a cliche to say but you do only need 1 egg, I've known of people who only have 2 or 3 collected and still have successful cycles. Lots of luck for Wednesday! Have you not been stimming very long?

geeup · 27/03/2017 15:06

I started menopur sat 18th so I did 9 days of stims. Trigger tonight!

Hi flamingo, We have our initial appointment 12th April so just before you. I had my USs and amh test and everyone was lovely and hardly had to wait at all. Parking was easy too.

Good luck kimmy and geeup, I hope things keep progressing well for you both. It's so nice to read your progress so thank you for sharing Flowers

Flamingo44 · 27/03/2017 19:37

Thanks MrsDarcy! I saw your appointment date in the earlier thread and that it was close to ours! Hope it all goes well for you. Will look forward to following your progress.

Tee4me · 27/03/2017 21:38

Finding this process so interesting!! Good luck for overnight fertilisation @Kimmy82!! 🤞🏻

Kimmy82 · 28/03/2017 10:04

Hi everyone, thanks all for your words of encouragement, just got a call from the embryologist , we have 5 fertilised, so it's good I guess I'm really happy! They are aiming to put them back on Saturday if all goes well.

Kimmy82 · 28/03/2017 10:05

Sorry the want to put one back on Saturday not them , really hope we can get at least 2 frozen.

Flamingo44 · 28/03/2017 10:14

Great news Kimmy! Congratulations. Will keep my fingers crossed that Saturday goes will and you get a sticky one! Are you having/have you had an endometrial scratch?

Kimmy82 · 28/03/2017 10:23

Hey Flamingo I'm really happy that you and Darcy will have it almost same time like Geeup and me :)

No I dont have any endometriosis, I had laparoscopy and hystreoscopy last summer but all normal my husbands sperm is amazing so it's really unexplained for us :( I really hope that some of these embryos develop well so they can insert on Saturday and also to freeze at least 2.

Kimmy82 · 28/03/2017 10:25

Sorry I'm not quite sure what the endometrial scratch means haven't read about this as I didn't had this issue , I only research about what affects me 😬

Kimmy82 · 28/03/2017 10:28

Geeup how many Pregnyl did they give you ( trigger shot), I had 2 times 5000.

Darcy I'm really happy you have had your scan and AMH:) at least you saw how nice they are !

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 10:32

God I was shocked for a minute when it looked like you said putting them back on Saturday! Imagine that, 5 babies!
So this is the really exciting part! I'd be very tempted to have 2 put back, I'm a twin and love the idea of having twins, but really important to have some frozen too.
Wishing you the best of luck with it x
