Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

Out of interest Geeup did you have the scratch this cycle or not in the end?

geeup · 17/07/2017 13:46

It's a long story - I had to go private to get it but yes I did have the scratch. Need to be clear though - Nuffield do not recommend it until at least 2 failed cycles and will not offer it till patients until then. They were very clear with me that if I miraculously did get pregnant, it wouldn't be the scratch that did it.

Geeup - great news, hopefully it sticks! Are you going to test again?

I was offered the scratch due to 2 failed cycles. However when we failed the second time at the Lister they didn't offer to do anything differently, just told us to 'try again' which after having the exact same result each time wasn't very reassuring. So I'm glad Nuffield are trying something different.

I'm booked in to have it on the 2nd August and then its all systems go!

That's great you're starting again soon north! I totally agree it feels like you need to change something to get a different outcome. My drugs were different (higher) for stims this time so wonder if that helped me too.

Shit. My CM has gone a bit pinky/red. So scared this will all be over soon.

It's not over yet Geeup...pink is definitely ok. As long as it doesn't get too heavy then you don't need to worry.

Did you do another test this morning or are you holding out for a few days?

geeup · 18/07/2017 12:21

I did another one but it was the "quick check" one you get with the cb digital in the twin pack so not v sensitive I think. Was a very faint positive.

Did anyone else do the Italian trigger shot and then test early? Now I'm wondering if I was ever pregnant or if my BFP yesterday at 5dp5dt could just be the trigger - that would be 12 days after the trigger. Seems a long time.
I'm pretty sure last cycle I tested negative at 5dp5dt so the pregnyl was out of my system by then but wondered if the Italian one might be somehow stronger?
Feel cheated I don't even know if I was ever pregnant now. I know they say not to test early but they know some of us will cave.
I wish they did a hcg blood test at our clinic :( using urine tests is so unscientific and tells us nothing about what happened in the 2ww surely?

Should probably add I'm having a proper period now so it's all over. Had to put a tampon in as no pads with me which I doubt you're supposed to do but had no choice. Sad

Oh no @geeup I'm so sorry to hear that. It's hard to know whether you should keep a little hope that it's heavy implantation bleeding...or start to prepare yourself for the worst. I really thought this would be your time. Be kind to yourself.

MrsDarcy4092 · 19/07/2017 06:02

I'm so sorry geeup x

8um8le8ee · 19/07/2017 07:17

Oh no geeup, that's so sad. I'm so sorry to hear that.

NorthSouth85 · 19/07/2017 13:11

Really sorry to hear that geeup, take care of your self x

MrsDarcy4092 · 20/07/2017 05:53

I hope you are ok geeup .

Good luck 8um8le8ee it must be OTD soon!

8um8le8ee · 20/07/2017 14:49

Thank you mrsdarcy it is tomorrow. I feel so anxious and emotionally drained but at the same time I am hopeful.

You all will be the first to know! X

Flamingo44 · 20/07/2017 15:23

Good luck 8um8le8ee I can't believe you haven't caved and tested, you're so good!

Hope you're doing ok Geeup.

8um8le8ee · 20/07/2017 15:46

Thank you flamingo I really wanted to test early but I purposely didn't buy any tests to avoid temptation.

geeup I hope you are ok? Have you done any more tests as I recall you did one which was a faint bro. I was reading that some women do have a full on bleed and they are still pregnant, my mum did with me too.

MrsDarcy4092 · 20/07/2017 15:48

Might be slightly off topic but we're now waiting till November to see if we neee to use donor sperm or can try again with DH sperm. We've spoken about it and agreed we are both happy to use donor sperm If told we can't try again with DH sperm and if were in this position I want to donate eggs during our cycle. So I just wondered if anyone has ever had information on VW egg sharing scheme?

geeup · 20/07/2017 19:59

That's really admirable and brave darcy. Think that's a fantastic approach and seems the most balanced way forwards for you and DH. Onwards and upwards!
I'll be testing tomorrow too bumble just to confirm what I'm 99% sure of. OTD is Sunday but they said I can test Saturday but if it's over I want a drink tomorrow!
I did test a strong positive BFP on Monday and Tuesday but as I've now been bleeding heavily for 3 days now, I'm pretty sure what's happened. Even if it's a positive I know it's likely that's just hcg left over from before.
Just can't wait to test and know if it's a definite no at least.

OP posts:
geeup · 20/07/2017 20:03

Meant to also say bumble I have a good feeling it's worked for you. Don't ask me why. Law of averages?! The fact you haven't shown any bleeding or anything makes me think it's looking likely. Got everything crossed for you.

OP posts:
geeup · 21/07/2017 07:48

Mine done. BFN but I expected that. Onwards and upwards.

OP posts:
8um8le8ee · 21/07/2017 08:10

I wrote a message this morning but it didn't post!

geeup I'm so sorry about your BFN. Thank you for your lovely words and you were right, I got BFP. I can't quite believe it.

mrsdarcy that is amazing if you are able to do that. I have eggs frozen and if I don't use them I am going to donate them too.

Good luck all and I would like to say thank you to all for the support through this roller coaster or a journey. X

MrsDarcy4092 · 21/07/2017 08:16

Congratulations 8um8le8ee! So pleased for you, I hope your pregnancy progresses well and you are able to enjoy it 😀

geeup · 21/07/2017 08:40

Amazing! Congratulations. Hope the rest of your pregnancy is as normal and "boring" as ever.

OP posts:
geeup · 21/07/2017 08:42

That came out wrong - I meant obviously just that I hope your pregnancy is simple and just like anyone else's now the IVF is done! Obviously very exciting indeed! Hopefully you know what I meant...
